Chapter Thirty Six

She was never so happy to see Black Blaze, even though she was still really mad at him. Rachel stayed close to Sileny, both now guarded by White Blaze.

Black Blaze was stiff as a board as he glared down at the enemy. He wanted rip his throat out and worse. But this was a golem. Those acts wouldn't kill him.

Kento glared down at this thing that had just thrown them all in a ringer. He stole a quick glance over to the girls to make sure they were okay.

Ryo reached out and put his hand on Black Blaze's back, "Sileny how are golems destroyed?"

"Smashing him looks like the best option." She replied.

"I will not be defeated so easily." Haytie said in a cold angry voice.

They all heard the sounds of footsteps running towards the door and the gaping hole from the triple attack earlier. Soon the trolls came into view all holding their weapons and shouting loudly.

White Blaze gave out a loud roar, his fur standing and teeth bared.

Sage was done with this. He lifted his sword up and thunder bolts shot out from the blade, striking within inches of the trolls. The room fell silent, "Rachel will you tell them that was a warning?"

She nodded and relayed the message loudly, watching as the trolls whispered among themselves then began to back up.

Not as stupid as they look, Kento commented.

All nine of us are more than they can handle and we can see them coming, unlike last time, Dais said.

"It appears the best way to deal with you all will be you kill you."

All eyes returned to Haytie.

"These powers you chose will be the end of this world and of you all. Killing you will save many lives."

"We didn't chose this." Cye glared bitterly.

"Didn't you?"

The glass shards began to spin around them all, growing and getting sharper. Not unlike little arrowheads. But then-

Chains shot out from the ground each link shattering the shards of glass before the anchors logged themselves back into the walls. "Not going to happen again," Kayura spat.

Then the ground started moving, the Ronin braced themselves for whatever it was; they were surprise to see Haytie get shot into the air, with Black Blaze still pinning him down. The pillar went high up and the next thing they knew, Black Blaze gave a yelp before he was thrown off the pillar.

The tiger ricochet off the wall and landed beside White Blaze. Glaring up and growling fiercely.

Haytie stood down, looming over them, his eyes glowing. "Much better."

A heavy weight began to weigh down on them. Something was pulling them down. An invisible force of some kind. The girls were the first down on all fours as this force pulled everyone down, soon Kento fell to one knee followed quickly by Ryo and Sekhmet.

What is this?

Cye glanced over to Sage, No idea.

It feels like I'm being pulled down by a trunk, Kento explained.

Oh damn.

Ryo looked at Rowen, What is it?

Don't tell me this creep can control gravity?!

WHAT?!

Suddenly everyone was on their stomachs. The weight that was pulling them down began to send waves a pain through their already battered bodies.

Haytie gave no smile or look of satisfactory as he gazed down at the bodies below, "Let's end this quickly for all our sakes." He looked to the ceiling, the wood changed shape and turned to sharp spears. The golem knew were to strike, even in armor, for a quick death like this. While this may have been far from the way he wanted to end this he could now see it was unavoidable all along.

With one swoop of his hand the wooden spikes flew down from the ceiling.

Then were engulfed in white flames.

"What?!"

The pillar he had been standing on then cracked and fell to the floor. Haytie managed to jump off it before he too fell but-

White and black lightening twirled along a large chain and shot him right in the stomach, pinning him to the wall. He glared down at them and the cracks in his body grew.

"They're unconscious!" Cye called to the other from his place beside the girls. Sekhmet across from him.

Haytie was about to say something when the marble walls shot out and covered his mouth, arms and legs. Now he was completely trapped.

"Not a good feeling to be unable to move is it?" Kento glared.

Ready for this? Sage asked his friends.

They all nodded.

Rowen notched his arrow.

When he let it go all his friends joined in their own attacks. As the dust settled all that was left of Haytie was his robes.

"Think that's really that?" Kayura asked.

"I hope so," Sage answered before turned and running over to were Cye and Sekhmet sat with Rachel and Sileny.

"Minor injuries," Sekhmet said as everyone began to gather. "They're still unconscious but they should be fine."

Ryo knelt down and put his hands on White Blaze's face, the tiger in turn gave a soft rumble. "Hey buddy." He could feel himself shaking from the adrenaline rush.

A blinding light shot up from the cracks in the ground and all along the cracks of the walls.

Sage!

It's not me!

They all covered their eyes before they felt the floor give out below them.

He glanced down at the returned victorious warriors. They lay unconscious over the roots and moss in a mess of tangled limbs and armor. Apart from a few visible wounds they didn't look any worse for wear.

White Blaze limped forward and nudged at Cye's shoulder, yet the warrior didn't move. They should be awake, he said before glancing to Keitaro yet the ghost wasn't there anymore.

Black Blaze snorted, he got what he wanted and left. He's truly a selfish man. The tiger stood and looked at the group. Perhaps they are still out from exhaustion? We've no idea what they went through until we arrived.

True as that is we do have a vague idea. White Blaze replied as he carefully picked his way through the bodies, arriving at his master. What do you think will happen to the creatures and treasures there?

I'm not sure. He answered as he stood beside the unarmed mortal girls. I can't really say I care all that much any ways. All that is important to me has returned.

The other tiger nodded, How do we get them home? We cannot just leave them this way.

Have you forgotten all your powers or must I really do everything? The black tiger twitched an ear.
