Place: The Stabler's house

Scene: Brody's bedroom

Action: Elliot and Mercy are biding Brody goodnight

Brody (reaching to touch mercy): Sissy, I want a goodnight hug

Mercy (embracing Brody): Goodnight, little brother

Elliot (joining in on the group hug): I love y'all

Scene: The Den

Action: While Brody is sleeping upstairs, Elliot and Mercy watch The Princess Bride

Mercy: The Princess Bride is my favorite movie. How did you know?

Elliot: I have children from a previous marriage. My daughters like The Princess Bride.

Mercy: Interesting

Elliot: Thanks for sticking around and helping me with Brody

Mercy: You are welcome

Elliot: You are thirty seven. Don't you have a home to go to?

Mercy: Its just me. Everybody else is either dead or elsewhere.

Elliot: Have you ever thought about starting a family?

Mercy (choked up): I have endometriosis

Elliot: Olivia had that once

Mercy: Maybe I got it from her

Elliot: You have your mother's eyes and heart

Mercy: Thanks. I am not ashamed to be biracial.
