Chapter Thirty-Seven:
Roman and Lily are dropping Emma to school; they are just outside her classroom.
"Bye baby girl, have fun at school." Roman kisses her head
"I will daddy, have fun at work."
"Okay, today you have to stay with the afternoon class just like we explained." Lily gives her, her school bag.
"Yes mommy I remember. You have fun at work too." She hugs her mother.
"Thanks sweetie. We will both see you at 3:30 to pick you up." She hugs Emma back.
"We are still going to Uncle Dean's later, right?" Emma asks
"Yup, now come on you are going to be late." Roman pulls Lily away, so Emma can enter her classroom.
"Okay bye sweetie." She says in a soft tone while she kisses her forehead.
"Mommy, you will come to pick me up you even said so." Emma comforts her.
"I know." She blinks her eyes.
"How about I'll call at lunch, we can have lunch over the phone?" She suggests with a smile.
"That's great." Lily perks up. "I'll talk to you at lunch. Bye."
"Bye mommy. Bye daddy." She waves bye as her parents walk outside to the car.
As they get to the car, Lily now has her head on his shoulder.
"It is okay you are just having your emotions heighten, that's all." He has been explaining to her that her actions are justified.
"But it seems like I hinted that I won't be there to pick her up." Lily says as she rubs his arms around her.
"No you didn't. Now, we are going to have a fun day today. We are going to work, have lunch as a family, work some more, pick up our daughter and have some family bonding. It will the best day of our lives." He says while opening her door.
"You are so sweet. Can we have our original break treats?" She smiles as she takes a seat in the passenger seat.
"Absolutely, hopefully we don't get caught." He kisses her.
"Oooo I love surprises." She flirts with her finger down his chest.
"Me too." He pecks her before going to the driver seat.
At work:
"There are the newly know parents." Chief Seth calls out as they enter the hospital.
"Hello Chief Seth, sorry we are late." Lily says with Roman's arm around her. Even though they are friends outside the hospital, she still treats them professional while working. This includes Seth, his fiancé, April, Phil, and mostly Roman. She doesn't want anyone to think she is getting special favours by the people she knows. They all agree with all of them being professional with each other at work.
"Nurse Garcia, I know that it might be harder to get ready with your condition, but you still have to be on time." Chief Seth warns.
"Yes sir, it won't happen again. Dr. Reigns, I will see you at break." She grabs her bag before heading to her floor.
"Now Dr. Reigns, I received the call that the heart will come in today. We need you ready and unoccupied at that time." Chief Seth says while they wait for the elevator.
"Okay Chief Seth, no distractions." He nods.
When they enter the elevator, Chief Seth is now Seth, the friend. "How is the pregnancy going?"
"Good, her hormones are acting up a lot today, but I can handle it." He presses the fourth floor button.
"Yeah, just say yes and listen careful. From personal experience, when they say a specific food or activity or whatever and if you get it you will get in trouble." Seth warns.
"Yup, she is still in her pickle phrase, so I bought her pickles with whipped cream yesterday. She gave me a glare when I left them by the door." They chuckle as they leave the elevator.
"Good thing you didn't forget them or else you would have slept on the couch."
"Yeah, I know that because it did happen when Bella was pregnant with Emma. I got trouble for getting the wrong colour of smarties; she didn't like the brown ones." They chuckle and then he sighs.
"Do you still miss her?" Seth asks seriously as they enter his office.
"I always will, but I know she would be happy that we are not alone sad. She will always be with us in our hearts and memory and she would love Lily. I can't wait for the day that we finally get married and when the baby gets here." He smiles.
"Is Lily okay with Bella still being part of your lives?" Seth asks concern that Lily deep down knows she will always be second place to them.
"Yeah, she accepts that Bella will always be with us in our hearts, but she is in our lives now. We love her just like Bella. Emma loves her and treats her like her actual mommy. Lily even said that Bella is always in her heart." Roman explains a bit confuse on the sudden question. "Why?"
"I was just asking. I wonder that if Bella was still alive where would Lily be in your lives? Seth asks checking his paperwork.
"She would still be in our lives, but as a friend. Bella and her would be friends and be an aunt to Emma; we would meet in this very hospital." Roman a bit offended on questioning his relationship with Lily.
"So you wouldn't like her like you do now if Bella was alive?" He looks at Roman.
"Are you implying that I would cheat on Bella with Lily?" Roman raises his voice.
"I don't know, but have you fully talked to Lily alone on your situation? Does she know that if Bella were still alive that she would just be an aunt to Emma? Does she know that all her emotions and events now wouldn't happen if Bella was still alive?" Seth raises his voice.
"Yes!" Roman raises his hands.
"And why is that?" A bit shock by Roman's raised voice. As long they known each other, Roman has never raised his voice at him. He never raised his voice because they have never had to until today.
"In the result that Emma asked the same questions to her. She asks all those questions and got an answer from her. Now, I wasn't in the room during the conversation, but I trust their relationship. If you want to know you can ask her, but never doubt my love for Bella or Lily. If Bella was still alive I know I will love her with my entire heart. As for Lily, I don't know if I would have feelings, but I know that I would be completely honest with both of them." He says now in a soft voice. "I don't know what I would do, why did you bring it up?" He sits on the couch blinking his eyes rapidly.
Seth is in shock. He knows he went too far to imply that Roman would cheat on Bella. He knows how much they love each other and he would never do that, but with how he is with Lily now he couldn't happen to wonder all of it.
"Hey man, I'm sorry for judging your character. I know you wouldn't do that. It is just that… you know what she is still to me. You know how protective I was with her. It is just that I have what ifs that I should have been kept to myself. You and Emma deserve to find happiest again and I'm sorry if I put any doubt in it." Seth walks beside him.
"I know how protective you are, but you know I would do anything for her and Emma. It has been awhile and I didn't expect this. I didn't expect to fall in love for someone again, but I did." He chuckles as he remembers about Bella sending Lily to them. "Emma said that Bella send Lily to us so we wouldn't be sad." Seth chuckles. "Plus, you read the message she gave us with the picture of us on Emma's last birthday with her."
Seth nods. "Yeah, she gave you permission that if you did find another woman to love you can marry her. I just never thought another woman would deal with your personality and also with your overprotective of Emma." Seth chuckles.
"Wow thanks. Thanks for building my confidence, but not to worry Lily will build it up later, maybe during break." He smirks.
"I said no fluids besides drool on those beds." Seth warns.
"Whatever man, but the floor is safe, so thanks for the idea." He laughs evilly to the door.
"Roman, don't do it." Seth warns again.
"Yes sir, no fluids on the beds and floor." Roman salutes, but smirks afterwards. He opens the door to catch Seth's fiancé in his arms.
"Hello." Roman looks towards Seth, who rolls his eyes.
"Hi, is everything good here?" She says innocently while standing back up.
"Yup he is all yours." She steps inside more to sit on the couch. "Now Chief Seth I don't want fluids on your couch or floor." Roman sarcastically warns like he did a few minutes ago.
"Just get out of here." He throws a book at the door, but Roman closes it.
Roman opens the door again. "I love you too man." He closes it again before chuckling all his way to his station.
"Seth Rollins, are you cheating on me?" She teases him as she crosses her arms.
"Never and let me show you why I would never." He walks over to her to passionately kiss her.
First break:
Lily is waiting for Roman; she just got there a few seconds ago. She lies down on the bed with her hand on her stomach.
"I can't wait to see you." She says to the baby not knowing that Roman already entered.
"I can't wait to see you too." Roman speaks up beside her.
Lily jumps a bit. "Don't do that you will scare the baby." She hits his chest.
"Oh yeah the baby will be scared." He chuckles. "Now, let us have some fun." He climbs on top of her.
"I love you." Lily says with Roman's face inches from hers. "I just want you to know that I will always love you." She caresses his face. Roman thinks back to his conversation with Seth. He ponders that there is slim chance he could be right; he now lays beside Lily. "What's wrong?" She turns to face him confused at his action.
"Lily, you do know that if Bella was alive this wouldn't be happening, right?" He looks up at the bed above them.
"Of course, I would be a friend and/ or aunt to Emma." She smiles.
"So you wouldn't have feelings for me?" Roman carefully asks.
"I don't know, Roman, why are you asking me this?" She can feel the tears forming.
"We need to talk about Bella and what she is to you, to our relationship." He rubs her arms.
"Is this your way of saying you don't want to get married?" She wipes her tears.
"No! I love you Lily and I want to marry you, but-"
"But what?!" She calls out still wiping her tears.
"We need to talk about her and the what ifs." He looks at her with tears still forming.
"Oh Lily, this is not for me to break up something. I love you so much that I would give you your favourite flower every day. I love you for your generous and patience to us, especially with me at the beginning. I love you for accepting that I have a past with Bella, which she will always be in our hearts. I love you for treating Emma like you gave birth to her. I love you-"
Lily interrupts him with a passionate kiss. He brings her closer to deepen it. The kiss intensifies to them taking off their shirts. Roman rolls them to have him on his back. He looks into her eyes that are filled with love and a bit glassy from the tears. Lily brings her head to capture his lips again. They both start to moan from the kiss until they notice they have to get back to work.
"Baby, we need to get back." Lily pecks his body.
"Yeah we do, but I don't want to." He pecks her body.
"I know, but we do." She stops to look at him.
He looks back at her. "I love you Lily Garcia."
"Don't you mean I love you Lily Reigns." He chuckles and nods. "I love you too Roman Reigns." She gives him one deep kiss before heading back.
As they exit out of the on-call room, Roman sees Seth at the unit desk. He smirks and nods at him as he sees them come out. Lily pecks Roman on the lips. "I'll see you at lunch."
