And this is followed by huffing and panting. Honestly, after the last chapter and the length that it had, I'm wondering whether or not you guys are getting tired by the length. But I suppose, judging from the reaction that I get after one chapter, things should be fine.

However there is a large gap between the time of the upload and the time that I actually finish writing the chapter. I mean, I try to update weekly in order to keep people on their toes so in the end this gap between the past and present is quite interesting for me. So hello reader when I write this in early June! Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Regardless, I would like to thank everyone that has supported this project from beginning to end and also to PokeRescue18 for his contribution for his work.

Now, onto the story!

Are you guys waving like I am into my computer screen!? Do it! DO IT!

-Mr Question Mark

For one, when bodies came flying in through the window followed by gunshots and screams, one acted immediately.

Fight or flight was the human reaction towards such things.

Most of the customers in the Julian restaurant screamed and ducked their heads, the waiters doing the same. As for Otohime and Index, due to the nature of the attack, they immediately ducked down and covered their heads, faces in fearful expressions however they did not scream or cry out. They merely sat and waited for the next thing to happen.

Shirai and Mikoto did the same, ducking under the table for cover, looking at the person who had come through the window. He had what looked to be yellow hair however it was mixed up with the mix of red in it. His school uniform, one that consisted of a white shirt with blue tie and white jeans was also splattered with red in places and his facial features with contorted with pain.

Kamijou Touma was the only one that reacted differently. Thinking about the situation in front of him, he did what came naturally to him. He stood up and tried to get an idea of who was out there firing upon the restaurant and the immediate danger they had created for the people inside the restaurant.

This plan was foiled due to the fact that he had forgotten that he was handcuffed to the table, said handcuff dragging him down which was a large surprise to which he had no reaction when his face slammed on the table. He covered his nose and looked at the person that was on the ground, noting that the guy's cell phone had come in when he had and lay right next to him.

He took note of it, pocketing it for a later occasion, as he grabbed it by moving his foot, when he could give it to him and tried again to raise his head over the table. It was just as he had done so that he felt a hand on his collar pulling him down towards the floor.

He looked behind him to see both Index and Mikoto holding him down with displeased looks in their eyes and he gave them a strange look in return.

"What do you think that you're doing you idiot?" said Mikoto. "Seriously you make my head hurt even without this bruise."

"What do you think you can do against guns Touma?" asked Index. "Even your right hand has no effect against them. I agree with short-hair on this one. What were you planning to do?"

Kamijou gave them a frown. "I was simply trying to get a look at the situation." He said. Although that was not the only thing; He had wanted to know the formation of the people that were attacking the restaurant so that he could identify where they were the weakest and attack.

In the end, all he had wanted to do was prevent the danger from making itself known. In the end, Kamijou Touma had not changed.

"And then what?" asked Mikoto. "Besides, you're chained to the table. Sometimes you have to leave things up to others. I know it's not your style but just sit still for a moment. I'll deal with this."

Kamijou was about to ask her what she was going to do, however she turned and look towards Shirai.

"Kuroko. I'll deal with them for the moment. You make sure to take care of that guy." She pointed towards the boy that had been thrown through the window.

"B-But Onee-sama…." Said Shirai. It was clear what was going to happen if Mikoto would enter that battle all by herself. After all, being a Level 5 would mean that there would be little left of those guys.

"Don't worry." Said Mikoto as she reached for her skirt pocket and pulled out what looked to be a small arcade coin. "I'll keep it down." She stood up and held that coin in her hand as she looked ready to launch it with her thumb.

Electricity climbed up her arm and gathered at that one spot and Kamijou was so close that he had to look away to avoid looking at the light straight on. Index and Otohime however did not, fascinated by what Academy City had created in her.

The Railgun that very few people saw was fired, a beam of light that shot out of the restaurant followed by Mikoto who leaped over the barrier, the sound of sparks going through the air as she launched her attacks towards her opponents.

Kamijou tried to watch her go however did not, thinking only of the more important thing at the moment. Shirai had yet to realise it so he had to call out to her.

"Shirai!" he said towards her and she realised that she yet to pay attention towards other things other than Mikoto.

She looked at him and then at the person that had come through the window first, nodding to Kamijou before heading over to him where he lay, teeth clenched and struggling to not scream.

"Where are you hit?" asked Shirai as she looked at the boy's shirt. For one thing it was almost completely stained red and as such it was hard to see any holes in it that might have caused the wounds that he was in pain about. The boy grit his teeth and muttered a few words.

"My…..my sides. My…legs. Please….help me!" he spat out as he looked at Shirai. She nodded and teleported away for a few seconds before coming back, hands full of paper that seemed to be a large amount of napkins. She placed them on the wounds where she thought he was hurt and applied pressure to places where he winced.

An explosion from outside and yells made the boy look up and then back at Shirai. Kamijou paid attention between both parties and took note of what he said.

"You….have to stop them…..You have to stop….MINUS." he said. Shirai's eyes opened in shock and Kamijou realised where he had to focus his attention. Thinking that some information would not be told if he was looking, he made to direct his eyes towards Misaka yet direct his listening towards Shirai.

"They…they wanted to stop me…..from going to Judgment…" he said between gasps of pain. "They wanted to stop me from….telling you that…..their weapon deposit." He said as he coughed and Kamijou, in surprise at the words that were coming out of his mouth, only to see that some blood came out of his mouth and further coloured his white uniform.

Shirai held the boy's chest. She had to stop him from dying. The last person that had tried to defect had not made it and a death was not something that Shirai Kuroko wanted on her soul at the moment.

"The weapon deposit?!" she said to the boy. "Come on. You have to stay conscious!" declared Shirai towards the boy as the gunshots continued outside.

"It's…it's….." said the boy as he tried to speak however he did not manage to say anything loud enough for Kamijou to hear from where he was. He looked over towards Index and Otohime however they were looking over towards the Railgun and thus it was unlikely that they had listened.

Kamijou looked over to Shirai and asked her one question. "Is he alive?" he asked.

She nodded and rested the boy's head on the ground, blood staining her hands and going onto the floor. She stood up, looking over at the group that was right in front of her.

On the street in front of her lay what could only be called a waste. Three vans lay on their side in flames as did a number of people who were twitching. Sounds of gunshots and other weapons filled their air however it was clear that these people were not getting anywhere where they stood.

She had the location of MINUS's weapon deposit. However it was likely that it was moved. She had already known that due to the fact that they had vans and the weapons that were sticking out of them. They lay on their side and a number of guns poked out from them, ones that Shirai could recognise on sight.

Some of MINUS must have been directing their weapons towards the new hideout because the one that she had been told of had been compromised. It was almost as if the information that that boy had given her was nothing but a waste now.

That boy had been put into this much pain and it was all to waste. MINUS had been efficient all the way. They would not leave their weapons at the old hideout and instead move towards a new one.

So what had that boy been hurt for? Why was in so much pain that he had fallen unconscious?

Shirai Kuroko had one thought as she looked at the Judgment armband that she had. She was the one that would protect the residents of that City. In the end, her job was that and that only. And so it was her duty to arrest and detain MINUS.

It was her duty.

With that thought she stepped outside the restaurant and teleported towards the location that she had been longing to be the most. By the side of Misaka Mikoto.

She teleported onto the side of the van that was upturned and noticed two things. One was the group that had started to flee and the other was the group of around 7 espers that had decided that ditching the guns that did not work was a smart move against the #3.

In the end, either option was not good or smart.

Mikoto was currently facing the larger threat, those that were escaping. If they managed to do so and they were successful they might hurt others in the future and that was something that Misaka Mikoto would not allow.

She readied an electric spear and an esper on the left of her readied his own attack, bringing a hand forward and something that looked to be made out of wood appearing.

Shirai Kuroko was the first to make the next move. She teleported in a quick motion, hitting the boy in the side with her feet, throwing off his aim as he fell to the side. However that was not all. She managed to teleport the next second before she hit the ground and landed, her feet touching the boy's head as she made it hit the ground a weak groan coming from his mouth as he fell unconscious.

She turned and heard the screams of those that tried to escape in the distance, turning to face Misaka Mikoto who looked back at her with a nod. In the end, those Tokiwadai students were there to bring justice and protect Academy City.

In the end, they could be said to be the heroes that Academy City had produced by their own hands.

"Wah, I hope that Misaka-san and Shirai-san are Ok…." Said Tatsugami Otohime as she hid behind the table in the restaurant. There was not much, a normal civilian without any power could do. She could not see what was happening on the other side of the overturned truck however she had seen a spear of electricity fly from the back end and hit a number of the people that were escaping.

They all currently lay on the ground silently twitching.

"But seriously is short-hair going to be OK?" asked Index to Kamijou however he did answer. He was merely watching and looking at the boy on the ground.

His white clothes were stained with red. His face had a sense of relief towards it regarding the fact that the pain that he had faced was over. He was no longer conscious. He had been trying to do one thing and that was trying to get information towards those that could protect Academy City. In the end though he had been taken down by one thing; those that had not wanted him to succeed.

MINUS. In the end MINUS was the one that had done this.

They were a group of espers, both strong and weak that wanted power. It was a perfect example of how in the pursuit of it, one became corrupt, something one might find in an analysis of any text however there was a basis of truth to it. They wanted power. They wanted power because of the fact that it was true that, according to rumours, someone had defeated the #1, the most powerful person that there was.

Thus it was possible to be better than everyone else. That it was possible to gain power that went past the #1 of Academy City. It was possible to not be truly deemed 'weak' in the City that valued espers based upon their abilities.

And, although no-one felt it was the case, although no-one would agree on the point, Kamijou Touma had one thought filling his head.

In the end, all of this damage was his fault. He had defeated Accelerator. He had done this indirectly to this boy. This was his fault.

Kamijou looked at the boy. He did not regret his actions that day. In the end he had been fighting to save someone and he had done that. If someone had told him it would lead to this, he would still go and save that someone.

All mistakes, contradictions and lies in the actions that he had done were present. They were sitting in front of that boy that had constantly been beaten back and forth in the events that life had thrown at him.

So what was that boy going to do? When faced with the results of his own actions what was he going to do?

"Touma?" said Index as she looked at him. Kamijou looked back at her and said nothing as he turned his gaze towards the handcuff that chained him to the table. And he tugged at it. As the table's support was of wood, but strong wood, it would take time however he was glad as the actions would be impossible if it was metal.

"Touma?" asked Index as she watched the boy try again and again to get the handcuff off.

"Onii-chan?" asked Otohime as she too watched his actions. It was clear what they wanted to ask. What was he going to do on that battlefield? What could he possibly do?

"I don't know." Said Kamijou Touma to answer the silent question. "I have no idea. But….." His eyes held conviction as he looked at both of them. It was a conviction that they had seen before and showed one thing. Kamijou Touma was not going to let something as small as a handcuff get in his way. "I have to deal with this mistake myself! This is my responsibility! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Kamijou let out that word as a roar as he tugged with all of his might, as he strained all of his muscles to rip the handcuff from the wood, falling backwards as he did so, the table falling to the ground while he stood up.

The handcuff jangled on his left wrist and Kamijou looked at the destruction outside the restaurant. And he clenched his right hand. The hand that held the Imagine Breaker, something that would be useless in the situation in front of the boy.

"I will not let anyone else suffer today."

The bullet diverted itself due to Mikoto's magnetism drawing the gun away and the esper gritted his teeth as he foresaw the attack that was about to come.

Shirai Kuroko smashed her feet into his face and then she reached for the needles on her things, teleporting them into the flesh of another esper on the side, blood drawing from his hand as he lost control of his esper power, the ball of energy exploding in his face as he fell back towards the fallen van.

Mikoto did the next attack, launching an electrical spear towards another esper, this time a girl. She held up her hands, her own Electromaster power being used as she was ready to counter the Level 5 however the difference between them was clear.

The attacks clashed midway and Mikoto's did nothing less than obliterate the other girl's attacks and continue without stopping before shocking the girl. And Mikoto had not even been using her full power. The girl fainted on the spot, smoke coming from her wounds.

"Damn it!" said one of the other espers that had chosen to stay behind. He realised the situation he was in to the fullest extent. After all, seven of his comrades had been defeated in one paragraph!

This was no joking matter. He had simply taken the job because his accomplices in MINUS had lead him towards this battlefield. He had simply wanted to be stronger in that regard, free from the constraints of the Levels that Academy City had placed on him. He had wanted to be a part of the Certain Unknown Level 0's group that had managed to be so strong.

As such he looked over towards the van. He was standing near the gas tank as his own small fire ability was nothing special however in the right environment it was a weapon. It was likely that he would not survive however in the end if he were to take down a Level 5!

The boy leaped towards the van however never reached it. A swinging kick that seemed to come from nowhere ploughed into his gut and he fell to the side as he felt something sharp stab into his clothes, preventing him from getting up.

He did not want to though. He could not. So he simply waited out the results of the battle.

Mikoto looked around her, seeing around 4 more espers. It was hardly anything towards that Level 5 and she took a step back feeling the back of her underclassman there. Shirai Kuroko breathed in controlled breaths and it was clear that she was just as composed as Mikoto was.

Only 4 more left. In the end, that was easy.

"Are you ready?" said Mikoto towards Shirai. "I suggest you teleport away."

Shirai got the message immediately as she realised the attack that Mikoto was going to do. "Whenever you're ready Onee-sama." She said.

"Then get going." Said Mikoto and then all of a sudden, those four espers found that they were only facing one. However that did not matter. After all, when taking on a Level 5, one did not simply charge in. Well, not unless you were a Certain Unknown Level 0.

Mikoto stood her ground and grinned. "See you later." She said as electricity came from all over her body, spreading as if a wave towards her opponents. Eyes open wide, they tried to step back and create shields using their powers however it was no use. They all received the attacks with pained gasps and then, in amidst the smoke and remains of the battlefield, Misaka Mikoto stood victorious.

The next instant, Shirai Kuroko came onto the battlefield and had a look around her, observing the destruction.

"I think you overdid it again Onee-sama." Said Shirai with a sigh.

Mikoto smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her head, wincing as she touched the bruise that that idiot had made. "Yeah." She said. "Maybe I did."

"But are you OK?" asked Shirai as she came closer. "Your head isn't hurting after what that ape did to you is it?" Shirai came closer towards Mikoto's face to which she had to back away due to the nature of the situation.

"N-Not at all!" she said as she tried to push Kuroko away. It was clear by the facial expression that she had that she was planning something nefarious.

"But Onee-sama!" cried Shirai and then noticed it. Someone behind Mikoto had started moving, using one of the over turned vans for support, stepping backwards once before raising a gun and pointing it towards her head.

Although her own ability created electrical current to come from her body, Shirai Kuroko doubted that it was enough to block a bullet fired from a gun due to the surprise attack that would be coming her way. Shirai knew that she had no needles left. And thus, she had to act fast.

She pushed Mikoto to the ground, ready to teleport however found that she could not do the calculations. Had the mere toll of the battle damaged her in this way? Panic filled her head and that only reinforced more fear in that she couldn't commit the calculations needed to teleport. Fear creating more fear. It was a vicious cycle and one that only had one ending.

The esper with the gun did not care that his target had changed. In the end, it did not change anything. If he was going to be defeated today, then he was taking someone with him!

Shirai Kuroko did not think of anything as the gunshot filled the air. Mikoto who had fallen to the ground and was just about to turn around, was half-way in doing so and her eyes went wide.

"KUROKO!" she shouted. Shirai herself was in shock. She did not feel any pain. Instead, she merely stood there as she watched the person that had shot her. In the end, her Judgment duties had ended here. Besides Misaka Mikoto, it did not make her any better however it did provide some conciliation.

However there was one thing strange. She did feel like energy was leaving her body like she thought death would be like. Instead she felt fine. Absolutely fine. So what had happened?

Mikoto ran to her side and looked her over, not seeing any wounds and then looked towards the person that had fired the gun. His eyes were blank and his gun was angled down, the trajectory of the bullet obvious now that he had aimed down, in between Shirai's legs.

But in his position, why would he have that change within himself to not kill? What was the source of that change?

The next instant, that esper fell to his knees and fell forward, clearly unconscious. And in that spot where that boy's head would have been…..

A broken piece of wood stuck out from behind the van oddly. It was someone's actions that had caused the bullet to change. Someone else's actions that had saved Shirai Kuroko. But who-

A head popped out from behind the van and looked at the esper on the ground. That head had spiky hair and had an expression that was one of surprise.

"He had a gun?" Kamijou Touma asked stupidly. He had the broken piece of wood in his hand and looked around at the destruction that the Level 5 and Level 4 had caused. His left hand was still covered with a handcuff however one end that had been chained to the table was no longer there.

Misaka Mikoto and Shirai Kuroko stared at the boy as he walked over to the boy that he had hit, bending down to check his pulse and satisfied that he had done enough damage looked at the both of them. He dropped the piece of wood, looked over at the restaurant, giving a bit of a relieved sigh that it was all over and then came over towards both Shirai and Mikoto.

"So, umm…what did I miss?" he asked.

The ambulances were called quickly however Kamijou Touma had still bailed as he left the restaurant in order to not get caught by Anti-Skill or the like. Even Judgment might get in touch with Index and that would lead to a whole other bunch of problems that Kamijou did not want to deal with at this moment.

Index and Otohime had protested however Kamijou had not listened to them and ran away, leaving Mikoto and Shirai alone with the people who had been injured. Most of all, he had wanted to visit the boy that had fallen through the window in order to makes sure that he was doing fine.

It was easy to determine the hospital that they were going to go to as the best hospital in the region was the one of Heaven Canceller's. As such, Kamijou went as fast as he could towards that hospital in order to make sure that they would be doing fine.

Shirai on the other hand would probably have to make a report as well as Mikoto so Kamijou was not so sure that they would meet him there immediately. That in itself was good news as Kamijou waited in the lobby of the hospital awaiting the news of the person that had been injured.

Index and Otohime waited with him, or rather they had gone off and walked towards one of the vending machines and were currently trying to determine what they were going to buy.

He had only been waiting 30 minutes however in the time that it had taken to get here, namely an hour and a half due to ducking and weaving through District 7 in order to avoid the eyes of Judgment and Anti-Skill, Kamijou was quite impressed that they had managed to get this far at all. He was especially impressed at his ability to hide from others however he had still managed to get a lot of practice in that sort of thing. Somehow though that did not mean that it was either a good or bad thing.

Kamijou had that thought and looked up to see someone approaching him. It was that frog faced doctor that he knew so well and for one, he seemed surprised to see Kamijou there. He approached the boy and gave him a look over, noticing the handcuff that was still attached to his left wrist.

He gave a sigh and looked at the boy. "Again?" he asked. "Shouldn't you ask Anti-Skill for a blowtorch or something? Don't tell me that you're in trouble again and can't go towards them?"

The doctor said it so casually that it almost damaged Kamijou's pride to hear it said out loud. However he did not let it show and decided on revealing his reason for coming here.

"There was something that happened a few hours ago. A couple of espers?" he asked. The frog faced doctor merely gave a look towards Kamijou and then a smile. Although those espers were his enemy, the doctor guessed, in the end that only was someone that cared for everyone, not wanting to let anyone that had entered his sight end up being seriously hurt to the point of dying.

Even once, that boy had not held any hate towards the man known as Fiamma of the Right who had started a World War and had threatened the safety of his friend after he had defeated him. In the end, after that was over what was making them enemies? After their conflict was over, what was the reason to continue fighting?

And so the frog faced doctor nodded. He told the boy everything that he had been through since those espers had been in the surgery, some of their wounds greater than others and it was during this time that Index and Otohime came over, taking in every word like Kamijou was doing.

However after the doctor was finished and Kamijou nodded, satisfied that everyone was likely to recover asked one question.

"Yeah, but what about that other guy?"

Heaven Canceller frowned. He had overseen most of the serious surgeries and had taken note of all of the patients however he had already named all of the patients.

"What are you talking about?" asked the doctor. "I already named all of the patients. Was there someone else that was injured? It was likely that their wounds were not as serious as they might be."

Kamijou shook his head. That boy had been thrown through the shop window and had fallen unconscious due to the pain. This doctor was the best that he knew so it made no sense that he would be sent anywhere else. In fact, Kamijou even had that boy's cell phone in his pocket, planning on giving it to him. If he wasn't here, then where was he?

No, that was not the first question that came to Kamijou's mind. Where had that guy gone?

Kamijou's mind immediately went to the worst case scenario. There was only one option that was open to him.

"Don't tell me….that MINUS intercepted him when he was in an ambulance?!" he shouted as he looked outside. The sight of Academy City seemed peaceful however in the reality; Kamijou felt that the scene in front of him had gotten a great amount of darkness to it.

"What?!" cried Index as she looked at Kamijou. "Touma, are you saying that that boy-?"

Kamijou bit his lip as he thought about MINUS had tried to do to the boy when he had been thrown through the window. Just what was going to happen to him if they got their hands on him?

Kamijou looked at the frog-faced doctor. "Doc, are you sure that a boy wearing a white uniform did not come in? He was thrown through the window of the restaurant!"

The doctor shook his head and Kamijou's eyes went wide. Who knew where he was at the moment? What was happening right at this moment to him?

Kamijou clenched his fist, that feeling of guilt building up within him due to the fact that he felt that MINUS was partially his own creation. If that boy….

"Index! You remember what he looked like!" said Kamijou frantically towards Index as he knew that her perfect memory was nothing to laugh at in this situation when it was most helpful. "Tell the Doc what you remember! Otohime, you stay here and help!" With two people on the problem at one time it was easier to gather information and that was something that Otohime must have realised because she nodded.

Kamijou turned and ran into Academy City, the gears in his head turning as he tried to figure out just what had happened to that boy that had already suffered today.

Shirai Kuroko knew one thing. The location that that boy that had been thrown through the window gave to her regarding the weapons depot of MINUS. However although the amount of weapons that were recovered from the trucks were enough to fill a small room, it was clear that MINUS had been transporting those weapons towards another location.

Thus anyone could have told you that those weapons were no longer at that depot. That meant that the information was useless. There was no need to call in Judgment or Anti-Skill towards the situation.

There was no need. However Shirai Kuroko did not have thought processes on that line. She did not why however she felt that, in order to make that boy's pain worth something, she had to go and check out that depot.

Of course, anything that happened there would be on her as a member of Judgment and anything that occurred there, it would be Shirai to meet the consequences. However there was nothing that was going to happen. It was simply not the case. That boy had not said anything as he was taken away in that ambulance and Shirai would have wanted to make sure that he was OK had she not had other duties.

Onee-sama was still in Judgment custody, much to her annoyance, however despite the fact that Shirai tried to intervene the fact remained the Mikoto had done the most damage and as such was the one that had to get the most information out of the target.

Not to mention the fact that that ape had disappeared, along with her best chance to discover what that Yesod card was. However that did not matter at the current moment. In the end, Shirai Kuroko had one objective.

She already had the location. She had one pair of handcuffs although she could not remember where the other pair was. She had her authority as a Judgment member. That meant one thing.

Shirai Kuroko was ready.

Kamijou Touma had already run to a number of Anti-Skill and Judgment branches. Unfortunately as he was a civilian, he was not allowed information regarding the incident and if he openly said that he was there it might turn out to be that he would have to make a witness statement, something that he did not have time for.

He rested for a bit, looking at his own phone, hoping from a report or something from Index or Otohime however he received none. He reached into his other pocket and brought out that boy's phone.

It was plain and white in colour, a mix of red still on it and Kamijou shivered a tiny bit at the fact that it still had that mark on it. He debated opening it however he did not, not only because it was an invasion of privacy but also because of the fact that someone had called out to him.

"You again…" said a voice that was familiar to him and he looked up.

"Y-Yomikawa-sensei!" he said in surprise. Although he knew that she was a part of Anti-Skill he had not known that this particular station was the one that she belonged to.

"What are you doing here?" she asked. She had a smile on her face and Kamijou did not have to guess why, after all, in the eyes of other people his test mark would have been one of the most ridiculous things of the face of the earth.

However this was an opportunity. Whether it be that he make her act out of pity or some other factor, he needed the information on that boy ASAP.

"I need to ask you something." He said between pants as he stood up straight. "It involves what happened at the Julian restaurant later today."

Yomikawa was about to say something and then frowned before she did. She assessed what she knew of the boy, what had happened there and then asked a question.

"Are you involved in that in any way?" she asked. "Because if you are then I will have to take you in for questioning."

Kamijou froze. The exact situation that he had wanted to avoid had appeared before him. He could always deny any involvement however that would result in him being back to square one. He would get nowhere and that boy was waiting for someone.

Sometimes people did not come. Kamijou Touma knew this reality however he was not going to let something that had been this close fall out of his grip. He would not.

Kamijou looked straight into the eyes of that Anti-Skill member. She narrowed her own eyes as Kamijou said his few words.

"I'm not going to lie." He said with conviction. "I was there. However there is something that I have to do Yomikawa-sensei." He paused before adding the last thing he had to say. "And I'm not going to stop moving until I do that."

Yomikawa Aiho said nothing as she looked at the boy. This boy had been through quite a lot. In fact, she had sought him out to deal with the boy that had been the #1 esper, and certainly there had been a change in his attitude whenever she mentioned the boy in front of her. Whatever that boy had done to Accelerator, it had had an effect.

Perhaps it was something that she could not comprehend; there was still the fact that this boy had initiated something within Accelerator. However that was not all.

Hamazura Shiage too had been affected by this boy. She had no idea what it had been however the times that she had met with him during the past few days, she had noticed that whenever she mentioned the name of the boy in front of her, that boy seemed to develop a sort of confidence about him.

It was similar to the feeling that seemed to stem from Accelerator whenever she had mentioned the boy.

Like somehow, both of those boys knew something that she didn't. Like they knew that when Kamijou Touma was around, the world became a place where people could hold their head up high and say that they were a part of the world that he had made. Like they knew that with Kamijou Touma around, there was always someone that would reach out and grab the hand of those that were struggling.

Sure it was possible that Kamijou Touma was more than a mere high school student however he never said as much. His antics at school did not suggest as much. However this boy was aiming towards something. She had no idea what it was however as she had seen with Kazakiri Hyouka, this boy wanted to protect anything that he set his eyes on.

She had only seen it then. However it was hard to tell if that was how the boy was normally. Given the same situation but a different person, what would be his reaction? What would he do?

Come on Komoe-sensei. Thought Yomikawa. She had always been vague regarding the events surrounding the boy ever since he had enrolled at A Certain High School however whenever he was mentioned she seemed more energetic, almost as if he was an obstacle that someone who was perfect could not leap over.

Show me just what Kamijou Touma can do. She had already seen what he had done on the spur of the moment with his classmate Fukiyose Seiri. However this was not on the spur of the moment. He was actually taking the time to do these actions that he was doing. So-

Yomikawa walked past the boy and then headed into the Anti-Skill branch. Kamijou seemed let down that he had been rejected, looking ahead for something that he might be able to do however he stopped when she reappeared around the corner.

"What are you doing? You would want to access the cameras around Julian at least wouldn't you?"

Kamijou turned and looked at her as she rounded the corner, Kamijou frantically trying to keep up and not look out of place, his winter high school uniform and the fact that he was following an Anti-Skill member making him look like a delinquent of some sort.

He attracted a number of stares however he did not shun away or act timid. In the end, he was here for one reason.

There was someone out there who could not call for help. Someone that was in pain and could not scream.

It didn't matter who they were. Kamijou Touma was not going to let things end here in this way.

"What…..the hell?" he said as he watched the video surrounding the restaurant. His facial expression was one of shock.

Yomikawa's was the same as the two of them watched the video of the security footage. The entire scene was played out, the boy coming through the window, Shirai going over to him, Kamijou breaking free of the handcuff and leaving the restaurant, all up to the point where the ambulances had turned up.

That boy had been picked up and then had done one of the most ridiculous things. He had been put into the ambulance and then it had drove off however as it was moving the door had opened.

The boy then pulled himself out of the van, using some kind of esper ability to slow the landing as he rolled on the ground before lifting himself up and walking towards an alleyway.

As for the ambulance it was only a few seconds later that it had been stopped by a number of Anti-Skill officers and according to Yomikawa, the people did not have the authority at all In other words, imposters had tried to stop the van, posing as Anti-Skill.

They checked the back and upon finding that there was nothing in there, let the ambulance go on its way after saying something to the driver. Those members then left, not doing anything out of ordinary.

And almost as if someone were covering their movements, all of the camera footage of the surrounding areas had been erased.

This left a number of questions in Kamijou's mind. Just why had that boy left? Who were those false Anti-Skill members? Why had the footage in the surrounding areas been erased? What was the point?

Yomikawa frowned and left Kamijou, telling him something that he did not know. He merely stared at then screen.

What was going on?

And then as soon as Kamijou had that thought, a phone rang in his pocket with a text alert noise. He did not know it.

And very slowly, he reached into his pocket and looked at the message that was on the phone that that boy had.

It said:

Where are you?

Kamijou looked at it and gulped.

What was going on?

I guess that'd be the end for now. I have a feel that this part will be either 4 or 5 parts however only those in the future can know this.

What do you guys think of this arc anyway? This is the 12th so far so I really want your opinion regarding them. After all, although we have the reviews, you really must like this story due to the fact of how many people are commenting on it.

First and foremost, this is for PokeRescue18, I thought of making it shorter but then went, what the hell? You wanted this so I tried to extend it.

So what do you think happened to the boy in the first place? Why did he try to escape? I've already got an idea so all you have to do is freeload on it and keep on reading, reading away.

Well, apart from that I have nothing else to say.

And as always,
Review if you please.

And I'll see you when I see you and I won't if I don't.

But then again, there's going to be a longer wait for the net Index novel. NT 9 is out in January apparently, according to the Dengeki website. The world after it has been destroyed. GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Cannot WAIT!
