What is Love
"Start Talking." Hal said when the ship took off from Zamoran to who knows where. Hal was on Pilot and at the window panel from the right to left was Killowag, Cody, Me, and then Razer. We all sat and looked at Razer but he was just as confused as we were.
"What are you talking about?" Razer asked.
"I'm talking about what you told Aya before she fused with that Anti-Monitor."
Razer's eyes widened. "She told you?"
"She was so confused that she even asked me advice on how to deal with it. Razer, she's an A.I, a learning robot. You can't come up with lies to hide the truth."
"Hold on." I yelled, "Hal, you know?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa…Wait!" Killowag almost yelled. "What are you three talking about?"
Hal said, "Why don't you ask Razer." Killowag turned to the Red Lantern. Razer was thinking on how to explain this but was coming up with nothing.
Cody, since I told him about how I've been trying to get Razer and Aya together since last summer, stood up and said, "Wait? I thought Killowag already knew Razer loved Aya." And the beans are spilled.
"What in grots name are you…." Killowag stopped and looked at Razer who was just looking down in shame. Killowag's eyes widened and he said, "Oh, geez, Red…."
"Oops, I wasn't supposed to say that, was I?" Cody said sheepishly sitting back down. I nodded and then hit him upside the head.
"How long have you…you know…" Killowag faltered asking Razer.
I answered, "I think it was around the first time we went to Zamoran, or was it when she went into his memories?" I asked the last one to myself.
"Wait how long did you know?" Hal asked me.
"It's so obvious to miss. I mean do you remember that time on the Prison Rock when Aya lost her energy and Razer had to carry her back, what did I say when they were leaving?"
Hal and Killowag looked at each other in confusion and then when the memory hit them, they both said, "Oh…."
Killowag then said, "I can't believe I've been so blind to this relationship."
"Aya and I" Razer said, standing up. "Never were….together as you would say. But we get it. I loved her for a long time now. Mary knew…probably even longer than I did. And now you know." Razer sat back down on the chair and sighed loudly, putting his face in his hands.
"So let's get back to the point." Hal said, "Why. Did. You. Lie. To. Aya?"
My mouth dropped open and I looked at Razer, "What did you tell her?"
"I…I said…."
Hal answered him, "Out on the field when we thought she died, he said he loved her. When she came back, she asked him what he meant and he said he had no love for her."
My eyes were like a goldfish, BIG. I looked at Razer in utter shock. But then was quickly replaced by an angry, scaring sneer. Then I made a construct sandal…yeah…a sandal. Hal said to Razer, "Oh, Kid, you better run."
"What-" Before Razer could even ask, I made a construct rope around him and then had it pin him to the ceiling. With my construct sandal, i flew up to his face and with as much force as I could, smacked him in the face. I did it so hard, it left a red mark and he yelled a little, ok a lot. "OW! WHY WAS-"
"You never say that to a girl, especially if she loves you and you-"
"She-She loves me?" Razer asked.
"Yes!" I smacked him again with the sandal, "How stupid are you?"
"Apparently a lot." Killowag said.
Razer stammered, "How-how do you…"
"Ok, you remember how that Manhunter on Odym shot Aya down, right?" He nodded, "Ok so why do you think it did that, what's the one thing Manhunters go for. Things with emotion, right? So what do you think it detected in her?"
"Emotion."
"Correction. Love. She really likes you, you know. Especially since you saved her, gave her a flower and almost kissed her which was pretty-"
"She told you."
"She did…..after I eavesdropped on you."
He deadpanned. Cody cut in, "We still haven't gotten to the point to why you told her you didn't love her after you did….did I say that right?"
"Sketch is right," Killowag agreed, "Why did you say that?"
"I was…confused." Razer said. "I've lost so much, and when I-we-lost Aya, I just told her how I felt. When she came back, I was, as Mary would put it…denial. When she asked me I told her what I thought was the reason I loved her. I told her it was because of Illana. But it wasn't, I do love Aya, and I just want her back."
I smiled, "That's all I wanted to hear." I let Razer down by making the rope disappear and dropping him on the floor. He miraculously landed on his feet and looked around at us, seeing our faces, a mixture of emotion. He turned to the ground in shame again. Hal got up from his seat by the main panel and walked up to the Red Lantern. "Razer," He began. "Secrets and lies can go a long way. Take Mary and I for example, I didn't tell her a lot about who I was before we met and me keeping that secret after she knew I was hiding it got her…got her hurt." I looked down at the ground, remembering about our fights and how stubborn I had become.
I sat down and added, "And not only that, people can take it the wrong way and do something bad themselves, I just got so angry. It wasn't much Hal's fault."
"The point is, Kid." Killowag cut in, "You got to come to terms with Aya, get her to listen. Tell her the truth." After we all shared some advice, we looked to Cody for his input.
He was sitting backwards on the seat and his feet held up in the air, not dangling. When he saw us stair at him, he blinked and said, "I've got nothing."
"Right." Hal said. "We'll figure out the rest after we got some sleep. We'll get back up in an hour or two to come up with a different approach. Especially since someone disobeyed my direct order on the fact that she should have stayed on the ship since she is hurt."
"She is not hurt anymore." I said standing up, "Thanks to Cody, it's nothing but a sore spot. I'm all good."
Hal turned to Cody. "Really? You healed her."
"Nothing to it, Sir." Cody said.
Killowag laughed, "Sketch, you're on the crew now, no need to be so formal."
"I-I am?"
"He is?" I asked.
Hal said, "Well yeah, he kind of helped us out. Maybe it won't be so bad to have a Blue Lantern on board. Unless Razer's ring starts to act funky."
"Actually," Razer cut in, "My power is still able to function around him."
"It will only do so much when I'm in contact." Cody explained. "I mean, if that Manhunter had hit Mary harder than it would have-"
I stopped him right there, "I didn't get hit by a Manhunter. What made you guys think that?"
All the boys looked at me and Hal answered for them, "Well, that's how you got hurt right? Out in the debree field of broken Red Lantern ships and Manhunters flying around and you trying to get to Aya but never did."
"But I never said I got it from a Manhunter."
"But it makes sense." Killowag said. "That's why you never caught up with Aya."
"I did….catch up….with…Aya" I said slowly sinking into the seat. "It wasn't a Manhunter that did this to me." All the boys eyes widened. "It was Aya. But I don't think she really meant to. I mean, she shut down emotion so I guess if she was really herself at that time she wouldn't have hurt me."
"But she's just not Aya right now." Hal said, "And combined with the Anti-Monitor she's double strong. Looks like the two hour rest will become three, to give our brains enough time to rest and then put our heads together to get her back." Hal got up and turned to Cody. "Mary will show you to your room. You can help us out with the mess."
"But," Cody said, "I don't have much experience with training."
"Well that's what Killowag's here for." Hal said as he gave the Bullivaxion a pat on the back. Killowag just turned to Cody and gave him a smirk that said, 'You will not survive.' Cody gulped.
"Speaking of Killowag…" I started to say, "Did you find Galia?"
"No." Killowag said sadly, "She returned after the Star Sapphires started to change their ways. But they said that she went back to her home for her people needed her. Heck, I'm ok with that, she's a strong warrior, and I know where her heart goes."
I said, "That was deep, man. You must be tired."
))))))))))))))) 30 minutes later(((((((((((((((
It was hard for me to go to bed that night, especially since after all that happened on Zamoran. I was worried about the vision I was going to get that night, if I was going to get one anyway. Cody had sensed my worry when as I introduced him to his temporary (probably not) room on the ship. He asked if I was alright but I told him it was just worries for tomorrow.
"Do you really think something bad can happen after all that did happen today?"
"You have no idea how much truth was in what you said."
When I confirmed it his eyes widened in panic and then darted back and forth. "Oh."
"Well, don't worry, we'll be prepared."
"Oh, whatever you say. Hey, you look like you need some rest. You should get to bed."
"Oh, I will. Thanks."
Now I was in my room not able to get a wink of sleep. So I got an idea, maybe I'll be able to rest if I think about what happened in my last vision. I was walking down the stairs, seeing my mom talking to some male, hooded figure. Just thinking about it, I was taken back to where I was left off, seeing my mom talking with someone in the kitchen. I saw little me call my mom in a small voice, "Mama."
Both her and the hooded man turned. I couldn't see his eyes, but his nose and mouth were visible from the light. There was a hint of morning shadow, but it was probably close to ten at night right now. The man was about to walk towards me but my mom quickly stepped in front of him telling him, "Don't come any closer." She walked over to Little Me and knelt down eye level . "Cherry, I want you to go upstairs to bed and sleep. Tomorrow we're going to have a little talk about being meddlesome in conversations, alright?"
The man said, "You named her after a fruit?"
"No she goes by Mary Anastasia Cabon."
"You say you ain't married anymore but you don't even have the guts to change back to your maiden name?"
"Mama?" Little me said, "What's he talking about? Who is he?"
"No one important." She answered.
The Hooded man said, "You could be a little humbler to a guest."
"A guest or a di-" But my mom didn't finish it and replaced the word with, "Dumb head." Little me giggled. As my mom was still kneeling and facing Little me, Little me was looking behind my mom at the man. He was doing something, it looked confusing to little me, but being older now I knew what it was. It was a lighter. Was he going to smoke? I don't see a cigarette. My mom pulled my attention back to her as she talked to Little me, "Now go up Mary."
"Ok, Mama." Little me took one last look at the Mystery man who was done with using lighter for whatever reason he was using it for. He quickly put it away as my mom turned to him. She kept on talking about how he could not be here, whoever he was. Little me was more tired than curious and started to go upstairs. That's when the memory ended and the rest of the night was all sleep.
A.N: Hahaha….don't you just love it when Razer gets smacked around. He deserved it, a nice slap to the face, with a SANDAL! Also, Cody is one of the crew! I seriously needed a blue lantern in that group of red and green. Also another memory and boy is it getting TENSE! Ok, I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
