I was heading down to lunch with Rachel while keeping my eyes open for Percy and Caitlyn.

"I can't believe the teacher didn't show up." Rachel said laughing we walked

"I know! Like it's the first day of classes and she doesn't come, oh well we all just got to sit there and talk. By the way when are we doing the girls night at your house again?" I asked remembering that a bunch of the girls from camp where going to Rachel's to have a girls weekend.

"Well I still have to double check with my parents by that shouldn't be a problem. I was thinking we could do it the 7th, 8th and maybe the 9th too." She said as we go to our table

"Ok sounds good, IM me once you have talked to your parents." I said sliding into my seat; I made sure there was one on either side of me. One seat for Percy and one seat for Caitlyn. Caitlyn and I had hit it off right away, she seemed really nice and we have so much in common. If she didn't have black hair with teal blue highlight through, freckles and eyes so dark they were almost black with teal flecks in them, I would think she might be one of my sisters.

We both love math and learning new things and reading (even though I like reading in Greek way more). She has lived with her parents forever and is too old to be an unclaimed demigod, so no new sister for me.

"Caitlyn, over here!" I called standing up as I saw her scanning the room looking for me

"Who's Caitlyn?" Matt asked as he took a bite of his sandwich

"She's in my math class; we sit together and hit it off right away. She just moved here and doesn't really know anyone so I invited her to sit with us." I explained quickly since she was almost at our table.

"Hi Annabeth, thanks for inviting me to eat with you, I probably would have sat alone if you hadn't." Caitlyn said sliding into one of the empty chairs.

"No problem Caitlyn, we are kind of a mish match group, so anyone is welcome." I told her before I introduced her to everyone.

"So everyone this Caitlyn, Caitlyn this is Matt, Kate, Rebecca, Bethany, Bradley and Nico." I said in the order they were sitting "The only person missing is Percy." I said wondering where he was, he's never late for food unless he sleeps part breakfast at camp. (it has only happened a few times)

"Who's Percy?" Caitlyn asked witch mad everyone snort with laughter

"Percy's the Captain of our swim team" Rebecca said

"And he's Annabeth's Boyfriend." Bethany added making both girls giggle, I would have been mad but I know when I was 14 I giggled a bit at the couples at camp, everyone else just kind of looked amused.

"How long have you guys been together?" Caitlyn asked while everyone started up side conversations.

"Well we got together on his 16th birthday so about two years, but we have been best friends since we were 12." I said thinking back to that first moment I saw him. I was impressed the kid didn't get himself killed and that he had beaten the Minotaur. At the same time I was upset because here is another hero who had mad it here and Thalia hadn't, it still hurt me. That was also the time Luke started to pull away from me so it was a hard time.

"Wow that's a long time to know someone and then be dating them. Was there any worry about the friendship?" She asked reminding me of an Aphrodite kid, but I would want to have someone explain it to me too.

"Are you kidding? We could all tell there was something there even me, I was ten and could tell they were something more hen friends." Nico said before I could say anything.

"Shut up Nico no one asked you. Anyway I think for a long time I was worry because we had become so close, then finally when we were 15 I kissed him, then we went back to just being friends for a while. He did get a little cocky after that but you know." I said and I must have sounded kind of sad or angry about it because all of a sudden Rachel jumped in

"Sorry Annabeth, I didn't really know and you know the other part about it."

"Don't worry Rachel I think we have all moved passed that." I said giving her a smile; I didn't want her to think I still hated her. I got over that quickly and now she's one of my best friends.

"Wait, Annabeth, you and Rachel both liked Percy?" Kate asked tuning into our conversation. I so didn't want to get into detail but once that was brought up I had to there was no way out of it.

"ya we did but that was years ago and we are friends now." I told her not knowing how to get into the fact that Rachel only liked him because he brought her into our world, nota conversation for the people at school.

"Ya I can't imagine a world with Annabeth and Percy not together, plus I don't really date." Rachel added. After that the subject dropped we were all talking about the upcoming dance and the fact that senior prom was only a few months away. When Percy finally showed up for lunch

"Were the Hades have you been?" I asked

"Well I have two science classes in the morning and I kind of fell asleep." He told me

"Percy! Just try and pay attention I know how much you like school but just think of becoming a Marine biologist." I said knowing that it's not up to me to get mad at him; sure I love him and want him to do well in school but I'm not going to get mad at him.

"Ya I know Annabeth, I want to help the marine animals, I will do it don't worry." He said kissing the top of my head.

"It's up to you not me. Oh and Percy this is Caitlyn my friend from math class. Caitlyn this is my boyfriend Percy." Percy stuck out his hand and then froze; the only thing I could come up with is that he knew her.
