I think this one's a bit different and Lee's a bit different in it. He always is in my stories so I don't know why I'm telling you that. I'm also going to apologise about the mistakes in the previous chapter especially with the baby miraculously changing from he to she. I should've checked. Sorry.

"Again?" Lucy questioned as Lee kept the letter and package he'd received close to his chest.

Lee had always received letters and some packages. There was nothing strange about that but recently they'd gotten more frequent. Before they'd only been once a month, twice at the max but now they were coming weekly. Lee would always hold them close to his chest before scampering off to his room, returning an hour later, red rimmed eyes, dry tear tracks and a red nose. Lucy had never seen Lee cry, actually cry and then to witness him on the verge of tears for a couple of days and then act like there was nothing wrong at all was beginning to break her heart. She needed to know what was wrong, what she could do to help.

"Yeah," Lee answered, a small smile on his lips before like usual he scampered into his bedroom.

Sighing Lucy leant forward and let her arms rest on her knees, fingers fumbling with each other as she contemplated her options. Between curiosity and worry she'd made her decision and got up from her seat. Taking a deep breath Lucy knocked on Lee's door, not bothering for a command and just poking her head through.

"You ok?" Lucy watched as Lee jumped and stuffed whatever he was looking at underneath his pillow.

"Yeah. I'm fine," Lee smiled reassuringly at her as Lucy walked further into his room, closing the door behind her.

"What's in the package?" Lucy asked noisily as she sat down beside him on his bed, thumbs twiddling with each other as she peered at him questionably.

"Nothing important," Lee replied unconvincingly.

"Lee you've been having them for years. A lot more recently and you're always upset about it. Can't you tell me what's wrong?" She was desperate and Lee could see it, "don't you trust me?"

"It's just personal," Lee sighed as Lucy nodded her head. They quickly lapsed into silence until Lee spoke again, "I'll tell you one day. I promise."

"Thank you," Lucy smiled as she patted his thigh before leaving his room. He'd go to her in his own time.

Lee didn't go and see her until a month later, tentatively knocking on her bedroom door before entering. Lucy was sat with her back propped against her headboard and legs crossed as she played on her IPad. Smiling up at him she watched as he made his way nervously across to her as he plonked himself on her bed and crossed his legs, facing Lucy.

"Yes?"

"I want to tell you," Lee informed her as Lucy placed her iPad to the side and nodded her head.

"Ok."

"I've never told anyone before."

"You don't have to if you don't want to," she wanted to know, of course she did. But if Lee felt uncomfortable telling her then he didn't have to. It was purely up to him.

"No I want to. I need to."

"Alright."

"I have a daughter," she wasn't expecting that. Why didn't she know about this? Why didn't anyone know about this?

"Daughter?" Lucy questioned in a slightly squeaky voice as she looked at him. Was he having her on?

"Yeah a daughter. She's 8," Lee informed her as he passed her a photo. Staring up at her was a child, with shoulder length brunette hair, brown eyes with a cheeky grin.

"Oh..umm...why doesn't she live with you?" And Lee gave her a look that said that she was being stupid.

"Her mother was a one night stand. Text me about six weeks after she'd been born and had gone into adoption. Didn't do anything for a while but then I contracted the people she was staying with and we came to an arrangement," Lee supplied the information as Lucy nodded her head as Lee passed her a shoe box filled with little trinkets, letters and photos," I get stuff every month or do but since they've explained to her everything she's been writing every week."

Lucy watched as a proud smile spread onto his face as he explained everything he'd gotten off of his daughter. A smile that she'd hardly seen him wear on his face. The adoration and slight sadness in his face indicating everything she needed to know. He needed his daughter.

"What's her name?" Lucy whispered as she skimmed through a letter, a smile tugging her lips.

"Jenny."

"Why don't you see if she can stay for a weekend? Maybe slowly get to know her and hopefully regain custody?" Lucy suggested as Lee's head snapped up to meet her.

"I can't do that to her parents. It would break their hearts," Lee muttered reluctantly.

"You're her father, Lee," Lucy retorted as she placed her hand on top of his, "and you didn't have the chance to get to know her. You deserve that chance and I'm sure they'd understand."

Nodding his head Lee didn't reply as his head dipped down to look at the masses of paper in front of him and then back up at Lucy. Smiling weakly at her he finally replied,"Ok."
