37: intercom
Disclaimer: I don't one house of Anubis :)
This is set at the beginning of season 3.
"Eddie Miller to my office." Mr Sweet said over the intercom. Eddie rolled his eyes as various people turned to look around at him. He stood up and moodily walked out of the cladssroom. He had barely smiled since they had come back after the summer. He hadn't really smiled since the day that Patricia broke up with him. The sad thing was, he didn't even know why she had. Everything was perfect one day and the next it was like she didn't want to know him anymore. Eddie walked down the corridor and into his dad's office. He didn't even bother to knock because he was in that much of a bad mood. Mr Sweet sighed as his son practically threw himself done onto the chair in front of the desk.
"What's wrong? All of your teachers say you're barely concentrating." Eric asked his son. Eddie sat there staring into space for a while, trying to think of what to tell his dad. After a couple of minutes he decided to just tell his dad the truth. He took a deep breath before he spoke.
"Patricia broke up with me whilst she was in America. I don't even know why." This was one of the first things he had said since they had been back and his voice sounded so heartbroken it didn't even sound like him. Mr Sweet didn't know what to say. He stood up to lock the door so no one would walk in on his conversation with his son. Whilst he did that, Eddie stood up and leant against the desk, accidentally sitting on top of the intercom button, just like Patricia had done all of those months ago. He didn't realise he had sat on it so he kept talking to his dad like no one else was listening.
"You still like her don't you?" Mr Sweet asked, his voice projecting all around the school. Every head in every class looked up as they heard Mr Sweets voice. Patricia felt sick because she instantly knew what they were talking about. The truth was, Patricia wasn't really doing much better than Eddie. She had barely spoken to anyone and didn't really have an appetite. She had her reasons for breaking up with Eddie but she had regretted it the second the words left her mouth but it was too late to take them back. Everyone listened as the conversation continued.
"No." Eddie said, still not really comfortable having this conversation with his dad. Patricia felt her heart break when he said that one simple word. Tears threatened to escape so she put her head down on her desk to make sure that no one saw her cry.
"What do you mean 'no'?" Mr Sweet asked, absolutely flabbergasted. He had thought that the two of them really liked each other.
"I don't like her because I still love her. I don't know how I'm going survive without her. If she was here right now, I'd beg her to take me back, not taking no for answer. The worst part is that I don't even know what I did. If I did, then I would fix it in a heartbeat." Eddie said, as a couple of years leaked done his face. Mr Sweet had never seen Eddie cry so he really didn't know what to do. He ushered Eddie over to him and gave him a hug.
Patricia knew she was crying but she just didn't know what to do. Part of her wanted to just stay in the back of the class for the rest of her life and the other part wanted to run back to Anubis house. Sure, she was mad at Eddie for letting the whole school know but the things he said were really sweet. She decided that she couldn't be in class any longer so she gathered all of her belongings and rushed out of the classroom before anyone could stop her. She practically ran down the corridor and banged on Mr Sweets door until he answered. The two men pulled away from their hug and Eric opened the door.
"H-how could you? Now the whole school knows." Patricia sobbed at Eddie before once again bursting into tears. She couldn't bare to look at him anymore so she ran off down the corridor, dropping all of her stuff on the way. She continued to run all the way out of the school before she stopped and started to walk. She walked around the school grounds for a bit before she got to the Sibuna clearing. She decided to sit there because unless someone knew her really well, they wouldn't know what this was the one place she went whenever she wanted some peace and quiet. She sat down on one of the logs and sobbed into her hands.
Eddie wanted to run out of the room right after Patricia but his dad stopped him, wanting to let Patricia calm down first. Eddie sat down for a couple of minutes but he couldn't keep still. He was worried about his Yacker. He didn't want her to get hurt in any way. After he had waited for a couple of minutes, he rushed out of the room in search of his ex girlfriend. He wandered around for a few minutes before he knew exactly where she would be. He started to walk in the direction of the Sibuna clearing. As he got closer, he heard loud heart wrenching sobs that he recognised instantly. He ran over to where Patricia was sat and out an arm around her shoulder. She tried to push him away and that broke his heart a little bit more but he didn't give up and he just pulled her closer to him. Patricia looked over through her tear blurred eyes and saw that Eddie was also crying. She wiped his tears away before she looked away again. She couldn't look at him, knowing he had caused him so much pain.
"Don't cry." He whispered to her.
"I could say the same to you." She said through her strangled sobs. Eddie pulled her closer to him and lay his forehead against hers.
"I'm sorry I let the whole school listen. I really didn't mean to. Please forgive me. And take me back?" He asked as he started to cry again because he really didn't want to lose her again.
"Of course I forgive you. I'm sorry I broke up with you. I just panicked because everything was moving so fast between us. I thought that if I left without an explanation than you would be okay. I think the real question is, will you take me back?" She explained to him. Eddie brought his hand up and stroked her cheek. She leant into his touch and closed her eyes.
"I don't need to take you back because in my mind we were never really apart." He said honestly. She opened her eyes again and leant froward and kissed Eddie. She had missed the taste of his lips after so long without them. When they pulled apart, Eddie pushed a bit of hair out of her eyes.
"You're so beautiful. I love you so much." He whispered as he kissed her forehead. She lay her head against his chest before she replied.
"I love you more." Patricia realised right then and there that she was never going to let Eddie go again.
