AN: Well I asked and you guys spoke up. Of the 72 reviews and 20 PMs I got, it looks like the majority (by almost a 85/7 split) want to see this go Harry/ Multi. As you know I've never done a Harry multi before, so I'm going to take a week or two to outline where it's going and come up with a good chemistry for the new threesome. A few things that need to be addressed before I go down this road. This is staying a T story, that means no sex scenes. So the relationship will only be adding a second lady to the mix to make Harry's life more interesting. I don't think I'm going to add Amelia, only because adding Erika to the mix is going to be a stretch for me. If at any point I think it's getting ridicules, or off the rails I'm going back and cutting it out. Also, I've made the decision to add as many crossovers as I can. If I need a new big bad I'm going to reach back into my movie/tv collection and add it to the story. As you'll see in this chapter I've already started. I've added a new crossover to the story. The threesome will start in a chapter or two depending on when I can fit it in.
The last week in August was full for Harry and his crew. Harry was consulting with Amelia about her house. He was also talking with the SSI team that set up in a hotel with a good view of the compound in Budapest. So far they were tracking movements in and out of the compound only. Harry was planning on changing that soon. A night time infiltration to set up listening bugs was planned for Wednesday night when most of the coven was going to the club to celebrate the anniversary of Kraven's night of victory over the Lykens. A night Harry felt was suspect. The amount of Lyken activity still going on was too organized in Harry's opinion. They had a leader. A we respected, smart, and well organized leader that had kept the lyken population alive all this time. Harry knew he had to find this leader, and when he found that leader he would have a frank, and honest conversation with that man to gain a new ally.
Hermione and her team were tracking down texts and tomes from all over the world looking for the last few missing pieces of the puzzle. So far they knew they needed obsidian stone. They also knew it needed to be mined a certain way, at a certain time, under a specific moon. They knew they needed pure gold, 100 percent pure, no imperfections, and it needed a cretin amount of magic imbedded in it. The goblins were supplying them with that. They even knew how to make the stone and gold merge and form a daylight stone. What they didn't know was the right order of steps to do it in. Each text said something different. That could mean one of two things. Either the steps didn't matter as long as the ingredients were good. Which meant that they would have to experiment to find the best way themselves. Or there was only one right way to do it and they would still have to try it each way they found it to find the right way. In either case, they needed test subjects to test on. Amelia's ladies maids volunteered, but Harry had other ideas. He wanted to wait until they had prisoners.
Abby, Melissa, Margret, and Mary were busy planning Hermione and Neville's wedding. Everyday at lunch those four would descend on Hermione's lab with food, wedding books, fabric samples, and cake boxes. Over the course of four lunches Hermione had all of the wedding details hammered out and she didn't have to interrupt her work to do it. The wedding was going to be held at Harry's Miami house, on the beach. Harry would walk her down the aisle, Marcus, thanks to his title of ICW security council general, could marry them legally. Harry was also pulling double duty as Neville's best man. Susan was Hermione's maid of honor. Her dress was a simple little white summer dress, and since they were doing this on the beach she was going to wear sandals like the rest of the wedding party. The bridesmaids were wearing light blue summer dresses with white flower print. The guys were in white pants and Hawaiian shirts made of the same blue material as the bride's maids dresses. Harry took one look at the white arch covered in blue teacup roses in the magazine and made it with a wave of his hand.
The reception after was going to be held in the back yard. The pool was going to be covered and converted into a dance floor. Barbara's new boyfriend Justin Collinwood, an old friend from back when they used to go to prep school together was going to DJ the party. Her summer days of drunken partying in the Hamptons was coming to a close and she was going to make it to the wedding before heading back to Harvard for her final year of law school. The guest list was very short. Just family and friends. Even so every room in the house was going to be full. Not to mention the race tent, and few magical camping tents set up on the beach. The menu was going to be two options, both of them cooked by Margret and Mary. Garlic chicken with cream sauce over a bed of pasta, or fresh caught fish with a side of asparagus and new potatoes. Neville didn't want a bachelor party, he just wanted to spend a morning fishing. So the fish they reeled in on Saturday would be the fish course for Sunday. They ordered a six chocolate wedding cake from a bakery in New York and with Magic they would get it to Miami unharmed.
Abby was also making arrangements for their three week long trip down the French Rivera and along the Italian coast. Two couples were going to be taking the trip with her and Harry, Hermione and Neville, and Marco and Susan. They would be staying on her boat so she got new bedding, new sheets, and new pillows. She stocked the kitchen and the expanded pantry Harry made. She also got ten barrels of fuel and had Harry shrink them down so she could store them. She also gassed up her little Fiat spider. Besides all that she set up reservations and booked activities everyday of the trip in multiple places so they had options for things to do every night.
Hermione and Susan worked with Smith, his enchanters and Harry to build a mobile Lab space they could use on the boat. There was a huge walk in closet in Hermione's room on the boat. Hermione came up with the idea of taking a big 6x6 crate, expanding the inside, and filling it with the books, lab equipment, and a bomb proof enclosure for testing the stones they were working on. This way they didn't have to stop working on the Daylight stones. They could work on it during the day when Harry and Marco were off at the test track. Abby could explore the cities with the two dogs, and Neville could fish off the back of the boat.
As the weekend approached things started to get more frenzied. Harry was in meetings all day to run troop numbers and strategies with Amelia and Marcus. After the success of his night time covert mission on Wednesday they spent the last three day watching and listening. Harry set up magical bugs and thanks to Hermione's help he set up a charmed map of the whole compound like the Marauders map so they didn't just get audio from each room they also knew who was in the room. With the new information they were getting and the way Harry was able to walk through the compound without being detected they were coming up with plan after contingency plan and the best part about all of them was every plan hinged on keeping the number of casualties down and the amount of effort put in low. The problem was almost every plan or idea worked off the idea they would have Daylight stones. As of the end of that meeting they had none. The good news was they had time. It seemed Kraven was happy with the fact that Amelia was off the continent. She also sent a few of her most loyal death dealers to Kraven. They claimed they were looking to defect and that pleased him greatly. Instead they were more spies inside the stronghold. Soren, his second in command kept a close eye on them but after a week of no communication to Amelia he stopped looking too hard. What he didn't know was they talked to her all the time through the bugs. They provided a running commentary on life inside the compound. Little things that would get lost through only hearing spoken words.
The week progressed easy for SSI with cases and meetings but most of the day to day business of running the investigation side of the business was handled by Luna and Colin. Sam would supervise them and help them as needed but they had a good handled on the way things happened. Plus the extra case work over the next three weeks would net them a good sized nest egg.
Friday came with clouds, cold winds, and pouring rain. Abby stood by the bedroom window and sighed. Today was a big day for her and Melissa. After a week of planning today was going to be a scramble to get everything to Miami so she could set up for the arrival of the guests. This weekend might be Hermione's wedding but it was also a test for her as well. This weekend she had to run Harry's house and take care of 28 guests. All of them staying in the house or in tents. She needed to make sure this weekend ran smooth so Hermione didn't stress. Weddings were stressful and stress was not good for the baby. She felt Harry come up behind her and wrap his arms around her.
"Stressing?" He asked with a soft smile.
"I have so much to do. I have to get the dresses, and groomsmen's things from grand dad. I have to pick up a very delicate cake. I have to stop by the butcher's to get the huge order of meat. I need to get the tents from the magic district. I need to go to the florist. I have to do all that and it's raining. That's going to make everything take three times as long." She said.
"You do know you have a magic man here right?" Harry asked kissing her neck.
"I thought you had meetings all day?" She asked turning to look at him.
"I did, I'll push them back till tonight or Monday." Harry said shrugging.
"Harry! You can't just push the meetings! This is important stuff!" She said.
"Abby, my sister is getting married. I'm paying for it all, I might as well pick it up. This weekend goes off without a hitch. Well, no we want a hitch. But you know, just the one." Harry said with a smirk.
"Dad joke." Abby said rolling her eyes.
"You love it." Harry said picking her up and carrying her into the bathroom.
They had breakfast with the rest of the house, and then they were off. Harry took his Boss mustang for the day so he could drive Abby and Melissa around to every shop they needed to go. With his fast driving and a few portkeys they were able to get everything on the list by noon. The girls took a portkey to the Miami house and started sorting everything out.
Harry went back to the office to handle a few last minute things. At the close of business that afternoon people started showing up at Harry's office. Starting with Mary and Geno who showed up at five. They spent the time sitting in front of Harry's desk looking out the window at the park below. Susan, Marco, Neville, and Hermione were the next one's to show up. By the time the last few stragglers, Sam, Luna, and Colin, came in, Harry's office was getting a little cramped. Harry attached a long rope to his portkey and they landed in the driveway. They were meet by bright sunshine, 90 degree heat, Abby and Melissa holding trays of margaritas.
"We assigned rooms, find the room with your name on the door. Harry is going to start grilling now so dinner should be ready in a half hour. We're having tacos." Abby said.
"I see you volunteered me for the grill work." Harry said taking a margarita off the tray.
"It's your grill, you get to cook. Now hurry up. We're starving." She said.
"Can I at least change out of my suit?" Harry asked with a smirk.
"You can but making it snappy." She said slapping him on the ass.
"Yes ma'am." He said laughing.
That evening the rest of the group from the west coast showed up. They sat by the pool and raced boats and waverunners. Harry grilled chicken and steaks for tacos. At eight Barbra and her boyfriend Justin arrived. Harry took one look at the kid and narrowed his eyes. He had on baggy jorts with blue and red letters up the leg. Jordan sneakers. A big t-shirt with Tupac's face. And worst of all, a Yankee's baseball cap broken off to the side and a du-rag. Barbara took one look at Harry's face and intercepted him before he could get too close to her boyfriend.
"Justin run up to our room to change right now. Harry, I know what he looks like but trust me it's just a persona he puts on to get DJ jobs and run with a cool crowd. He's a nice guy. He's going to Yale for his doctorate in applied mathematics. He's a chess club geek. During the summer he DJ's and acts like an asshat to run with the cool kids." She said running off everything she could off the top of her head.
"Okay." Harry said nodding as he handed her a margarita before going back to his seat next to Abby.
"Okay?!" Barbara yelled.
"Sure if you know him and he treats you good then I have no problem with the guy. Have him come see me when he's done changing. I want to ask him if he wants to go fishing with us in the morning." Harry said going back to his conversation with Mary and Geno.
"Okay" She said looking confused. Sam walked up to her and hugged her.
"Hey sis." She said.
"Hey." Barbra said still looking confused.
"What's up?" Sam asked.
"I thought Harry was going to kill Justin. But he just handed me a margarita and went back to talking." She said taking a drink.
"Was Justin dressed in his ass hole get up?" Sam asked.
"He was. I had to explain why he was dressed like that." She said seeing Justin come out of the house in board shorts, flip flops, and a white button up shirt.
"Then what are you confused about? Harry's not some mean overbearing guy. He just wanted to make sure Justin wasn't a tool."
"Hey Sam. Nice place you guys have here." He said looking around.
"It's not our place, it's Harry's. You've grown up a lot since the lat time I saw you. Are you still a nerd?" Sam asked with a smile.
"Yes. Are you still dumber than a box of rocks?" He shot back with a smile.
"Good, you're still quick." She said hugging him. "You finally got Barbra. You've been staring at her since the third grade." She said soft enough for him to hear.
"Yeah. Why do you think I developed my edgy DJ persona? I finally got her to look back." He said.
"You two going to keep hugging?" Barbra asked eyeing the two.
"Hey it's been five years since high school. I've missed my favorite punching bag." Sam said pulling Justin into a surprise headlock.
"Really Sam!" Justin called out trying to get free.
"Welcome to the family Nerd Alert!" She said giving him a nuggie before letting him go. "Now straighten up and come meet Harry." She said dragging him over to Harry's table. Harry got up and turned to look at him and Justin felt his body stiffen with fear.
"Harry this is Justin. He went to grade school and high school with us. He was captain of the chess club. The leader of the math league, and captain of the debate team. He didn't touch a boob until prom night and I think he still might be a virgin. He comes from a good family, and he goes to Yale." Sam said pushing Justin forward.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you." Harry said shaking his hand with a good tight grip. He was trying very hard not to laugh at the introduction Sam gave him.
"Nice to meet you Sir." He said out of fear and he closed his eyes and felt like face palming. Harry laughed with Sam and patted him on the back.
"Relax Justin. You don't have to call me Sir. Just Harry will do. I understand you go to Yale?" Harry said trying to get the guy to calm down. It was obvious Barbara had talked him up to Justin as a bad guy.
"Yes, I…" Justin was confused, Barbra said Harry was a scary guy.
"Here, drink this. Have a seat and relax." Harry said giving him a margarita pushing him into a seat at the table. Barbra sat next to him and patted him on the back. "I take it Barb told you I'm some kind of a scary mean guy but I'm very laid back. So you were saying you go to Yale?" Harry asked.
"Yes, I'm getting my doctorate in applied mathematics and engineering. I want to work for NASA one day." He said.
"Cool. I've never been much of a math guy. I always respect people that can devote themselves to book and brain work. My sister is good at that. I've always been more of a distinct hunter. Good at thinking on my feet. I understand you're going to be DJing the reception on Sunday, have you been DJing long?" Harry asked.
"Kind of, I got into it about four years ago. I wanted to meet girls but I can't play an instrument. So my dreams of playing in a band and getting groupies was out the window. I went to a frat party one night and saw how much love and respect the DJ got and I knew I could do that. I wrote a program that made playlists based on a few song choices. It pulls up a list of hits and deep cuts and arranges them for a smooth continuous play set. I just have to man the computer and add some hype. I got a high end sound system and soon I was the most requested DJ on campus." He said with a smile.
"And the gates opened up I bet? Respect? Party invites? Girls?" Harry asked with a smirk.
"It was great. But I never let it get out of hand. Really, my goal was to get famous enough to be invited to Cambridge." Justin said looking at Barbara with a smile.
"Justin's been trying to get Barb's attention since we were kids." Sam said tossing her arm around Justin's shoulders.
"It worked obviously." Harry said smiling at the two of them.
"It did. Although I almost didn't go out with him. He looked like a dork in his normal get up. He talked to me after a party though and explained that he dressed like that to fit in." Barb said.
"Well good for the two of you. How has your summer been young lady?" Harry asked looking at Barb.
"It was good, Dad." She said making a face at him.
"Good. There were a few times we tried to invite you on trips with us and you kept turning us down. I'm glad to hear you had fun on your own." Harry said.
"Barb owns the Hamptons. She throws the best parties and she always knows what's going on and where." Justin said.
"Good to know, Justin, a bunch of us guys are going out on my fishing boat tomorrow morning. It's sort of a bachelor party for Neville. Would you like to come?" Harry asked.
"That sounds like fun. Although I must admit I've never been fishing before." Justin said looking self conscious.
"Don't worry kid, I'll teach you like I taught the rest of them. They all didn't know a thing about fishing, now it's what they love to do." Geno said.
"Good. I don't want to be the only guy that doesn't know what he's doing." Justin said with a smile.
Later that night Marcus and Margret arrived with Jimmy and his wife. They all headed off to bed early that night. The next morning Harry got up at five. He got dressed and took Max down to the kitchen. He found the hugely expanded cooler Mary packed for them last night before heading off to bed. Neville came into the kitchen with Lady, followed by Bobby, Marco, Marcus, Geno, and lastly a very tired looking Justin. Harry passed out big travel cups of coffee and took the two boxes of donuts off the counter and headed out to the dock. He expanded his fishing boat next to the dock and looked at the thirty foot boat and then looked at the group of guys on the dock. He expanded the boat to twice it's size and nodded at the huge boat. They all got on and headed out on the water.
Harry used point me spells to find a school of bait fish, and parked the boat right on top of them. Within a half hour they had a huge ten gallon bucket half way full of small fish. Justin, who never went fishing in his life was having a blast pulling the small fish out of the water with his spinner rod and small lure.
"This is great!" He said reeling in a small six inch mackerel.
"This is nothing. This is bait fishing. Wait until we take the boat out into the really deep water and we really start catching some fish." Neville said sitting next to him.
"I'm glad you're having a good time Nev. We could have gone anywhere for your bachelor party and you wanted to go fishing." Harry said pulling in a small bass.
"Harry, what's better than sitting on the water and catching fish? This is the peaceful and fun way I wanted to spend my day." Neville said pulling in a small sliver fish.
"We could have gone clubbing, racing, hunting, hell we could have gone skydiving." Harry said.
"Yes, we could have. But why bother? This way I get to sit with my brother and my friends and just have fun." Neville said with a big smile.
"Well, like I said, as long as you're happy Nev." Harry said patting him on the back.
"Hey guys I think we have enough bait fish. Let's head out to the deep waters and get something good for the reception tomorrow." Geno said looking at the tank.
"Okay, what should we go for? Snapper? Grouper? Tuna? Shark?" Harry asked starting the boat.
"Let's get some snapper first, then we can go for tuna and shark." Neville said.
Harry took them deep into the ocean, and when his wand stopped moving he stopped the boat. They loaded up the live bait and everyone tossed in a line. In thirty seconds they had a fish on. Soon all of them were fighting hard to stay in the boat. Harry saw Justin out of the corner of his eye get pulled off balance. He grabbed his line and summoned his fish out of the water. A 20 inch 10 lb red snapper flopped on the deck. Harry tossed it into the cooler and ran up to Justin who was on his knees using both hands to hold onto his fishing rod. Harry grabbed him by the back of his shorts and hauled him to his feet. He strapped a belt around his waist and clipped the rod to it.
"There, now you have some support, it looks like you got the biggest fish, next to Neville. Neville always catches the biggest fish. It's his luck." Harry said patting the struggling skinny guy on the back before walking over to Neville. "Hooked a whale again?" He asked.
"This thing is fucking huge Harry!" He said with a big grin on his face.
"You need a belt?" Harry asked.
"No, I got it, go see if anyone else needs help." Neville said pulling back with all his might and taking up some line.
"I got a fish close! Someone get the net!" Marco said looking over the side of the boat.
"I'm coming. The next time we do this we toss half as many lines in the water." Harry said rushing to the other side of the boat as he conjured a big hook on a long pole. "Holy shit. You caught a huge fish, it's got to be two foot long, and it's fucking heavy." Harry said hooking the fish through the side and hefting it on the boat.
"How heavy do you think that is?" Marco asked.
"I don't know, Geno is practically falling out of the boat." Harry said rushing to help his father-in-law.
It was like that for the next hour. They pulled in a baker's dozen of red snappers. Form Marcus's small foot long 6 ponder to Neville's 34 inch 40 lb behemoth. It was closing in on ten. Harry looked at the guys as they talked and laughed. Harry opened the cooler and pulled out a bag of sandwiches, and a few bottles of beer.
"Well my friends, we have all the fish we need for the reception. Actually, we have enough fish for a few meals. Now that we have the work out of the way, we can have some fun. Lets take a break and have some lunch. Then we head deeper out and search for the biggest fucking thing we can find. Neville has a twenty foot great white shark. Lets see if we can get something bigger or scarier. Mary packed roast beef and cheddar or ham and Swiss sandwiches. We also have cold beers and cokes." He said holding up the sandwiches.
"Now you're talking, fighting those fish was hard work." Geno said making the rest of the group laugh.
They took an hour to shoot the shit and eat lunch. Then Harry did a point me spell and they traveled out deeper into the deep blue ocean. The trip took a half hour and if Harry had to guess he'd say they were more than a hundred miles off shore. Harry stopped the boat and put Marcus to stand by the wheel in case they needed to use the boat to fight the monster he took them to. He took the huge rod and reel off the wall and handed it to Neville. He cast a few charms on the pole before taking a huge hook off the wall and attaching it to the line with magic. He took his dinky red snapper out of the cooler and butterflied the fish before attaching it to the hook. Finally he turned to the group.
"Neville, this is going to happen fast I think. The hook is charmed to stick to the shark's mouth. The line is charmed not to break. When you get the fish on, and you will, Bobby and Marco are going to hold you in the boat. My point me spell never gets it wrong. You know this is going to be a tough fight. Are you ready?" Harry asked holding the bleeding fish.
"Yes, By the way, what did you ask for?" Neville asked clipping the rod to his belt as Marco and Bobby clipped themselves to Neville.
"I asked for the biggest baddest thing in the water. I asked for the thing that made other big scary's run in fear." Harry said tossing the fish over the side of the boat.
The line fed out as the bait sank deep into the water and as it approached the bottom Neville felt the hit. The line snapped tight and bent the rod in half. A second later Neville was pulled out of his seat and it was only the counterbalance of the two other men that kept him in the boat. Neville watched as the huge spool of line flew off the reel at a blinding speed before turning to Harry with a shocked look on his face.
"Thank you." He said before pulling back on the rod and lurching forwards.
For three hours Neville, Bobby, and Marco fought the beast. And in three hours it still had more than half the line out. Harry stood by in case they needed something while Marcus and Geno droved the boat back to shore, or they tried to the shark kept pulling them back out to sea. So far it was a zero gain and if Harry's boat wasn't magical the engines would have died by now. Harry watched as Neville gave it his all but the shark was too big. At the three hour mark Harry was starting to think this was a very bad idea. When he heard a sickening pop in Neville's back he knew this was a bad idea.
"Neville let me cut the line!" Harry yelled rushing over to heal his back.
"NO! FUCK NO! We finish this! Turn the line into a rope, tie it to the boat and lets see if we can break it that way! I am not letting this go!" Neville yelled as sweat dripped off his body.
Harry made the line into a magical rope that was nice and thick before tying it to the boat and locking it to the cleat with magic. There was no way they were losing this fish. They drove the boat around for a bit but the line was still super taught. At this point Harry was sure the big shark had pulled them out to sea another fifty miles. Harry was about to suggest that they cut it loose when the line went slack.
"Did the line break?" Bobby asked.
"No, it did not." Harry said pulling out his gun case and grabbing the Barrett 50 that Smith gave him a few weeks ago. "Here Marcus, take this." He said handing him the rifle. He then pulled out his wand. "Neville, shields up." He said making a dome shield on the back of the boat.
Neville had just enough time to cast his shield before the boat was rammed hard enough to knock them on their asses. A second later it's head came out of the water. It looked like a great white, but unlike the great white it's mouth was ten feet wide. It's head was huge and it's fin was eight foot tall. Justin screamed with Bobby, and Harry didn't blame them. If he wasn't scared out of his mind he would have screamed too. Marcus shot it with the big 50 caliber rifle five times and it put five huge holes in the monster but it only pissed it off more. Is dipped down and ran back out pulling the boat with it.
"CUT THE LINE!" Bobby yelled.
"No wait! we can kill it. Harry can you AK it if it surfaces again?" Neville asked.
"I can, lets hope it goes down from one AK. We need to shield the boat. This is way too crazy. Bobby, Marcus, Marco and Justin stay in the center of the boat and hold the dogs. When this thing comes back it's going to hit the boat again. Geno can you cast a shield over the front of the boat?" Harry asked marshaling the troops.
"I can but not for long." Geno said still looking shocked and panicked.
"Okay, we wait for the line to go slack, when it does Geno and Neville cast your spells. When it surfaces again I'll kill it." Harry said.
They sat on the boat watching the line for the next ten minutes. They remained in a stunned, shocked silence. Harry reached out and grabbed the line with his hand. He felt the rope strain under the power of the shark. He knew the line would hold but he got an idea. He changed the line to a steel cable, and turned the cleat into a winch. He grabbed the line one more time and sent a bolt of lightning down the cable. A second later the line went slack but not totally slack like before. He spun the winch and started taking up cable. We felt it lurch and pull tight again. He grabbed the line and shocked it again. This time he got about a hundred feet of cable in before it pulled tight again. Harry took the cable with both hands and channeled a quarter of his power through the cable.
A blue-ish white lightning bolt shot out of his hand and traveled down the cable. In the water a line from the boat out to three hundred feet fish started floating to the surface dead. Harry counted about a hundred fish ranging from huge grouper, to tuna, and a few sharks. A few seconds later the huge beast floated to the surface on the end of the cable. Harry reeled him in. As the huge mega shark got closer to the boat they all saw how big it really was. Harry guess the shark was 50 foot long. Later they would find out the length was 68 foot from tip to tail. When he got it close to the boat he hit it with an overpowered Avada Kedavra to make sure it was dead. Harry tried to levitate the huge shark out of the water but he was too tired, and it was too big. Instead he shrank it to a tenth of it's size and they hooked it on board the boat. Harry pulled out his PPK and shot the shark six times in the head just to be sure it was dead before slumping over on the bench seat and passing out.
They spent the next half hour pulling all the dead fish out of the water, and storing them in to coolers. They would have fish for months and a few really cool sharks to mount on the walls of the pool house. Harry took a nap as they blasted back to the house using point me spells. They arrived back at the docks three hours later exhausted and dead. The women took one look at them and shook their heads. It turns out the girls all had a relaxing spa day that morning. They brought cooler after cooler off the boat past the shocked women Harry floated the six big sharks he killed by accident off the boat ahead of Neville. Neville was the last one off the boat. He floated his mega shark off the boat and set it on the beach.
"Another great big shark Neville? What are we going to do with another shark?" Hermione asked.
"You think this is big?" He asked laughing hysterically. He dropped the charms and it took up almost the whole beach.
"Holy shit!" Sam said summing up everyone's feelings pretty well. When the women saw the monster they caught they all rushed to their men and checked them over for damage.
"We're mostly fine. Neville did most of the heavy fighting and Harry all but drained himself to kill the thing." Marcus said.
"What the hell is it?" Sam asked afraid to approach it too close.
"It a prehistoric beast called Megalodon." Kenji said.
"Impossible." Sam said.
"Hey, you guys do know it has a tag on it right?" Nino said pointing to the small white tag on it's dorsal fin.
"No we really didn't notice it. What does it say?" Harry asked.
"I don't know it's hard to see from here, it's dead right?" Nino asked.
"Yeah, it hasn't moved in three hours." Neville said.
"Good." Nino said climbing up the shark's back and standing up. "It say's IGEN Meg 003. No wonder! Fucking INGEN." Nino said hopping down.
"What's INGEN?" Harry asked.
"It's a genetics company. They clone live stock and breed bigger cows. About ten years ago they cloned dinosaurs on an island off Costa Rica. It all went to shit. The dinosaurs got loose and attacked the people working on the island. A few years back they tried to open a zoo in California. They shipped a fucking T-Rex to San Diego. It got loose, it rampaged through the city killing dozens of people and causing millions in damage. For the past few years they've been quite. We should call them and tell them we found one of their experiments." Marcus said shaking his head.
"We lucked out big time when we said no to their contract for security work." Sam said looking at the huge shark.
"Yes we did." Marcus said nodding.
The men all took showers and relaxed after their scary morning. Abby and Melissa with help from some of the other women rearranged the back yard and the beach for the wedding tomorrow. Marcus made a call to INGEN and by dinner time a team of men were standing around the mega shark looking it over and taking notes. Harry and Marcus walked up to the group. Neville was standing off to the side watching them work.
"Well it's definitely one of ours, in fact it's the last one we had that was unaccounted for. The company made five of them ten years ago and they escaped with the closing of the island. We'll get a team in here to dismantle it and cart it away." The guy said looking at the huge fish.
"Hey you're not taking my trophy!" Neville said.
"Look, take what you need out of the shark but the outer shell stays with us." Harry said.
"Um, we kind of need to keep this under wraps. The public doesn't know we made these." The guy said.
"The shark stays, you should be happy we called you instead of going to the press. I don't think you're company can take another hit. So take what you need out of the shark but leave the rest." Marcus said crossing his arms and looking menacing.
"Um, I need to call my boss." The guy said.
"Go ahead. John Hammond was a friend of mine and Simon Masrani owes me big time. So you make your call and I'll make mine. I didn't want to call him but I will." Marcus said.
"Look, I'm sure we can work something out. I just need to clear it with my boss." The foreman said.
"Then call your boss." Marcus said.
A short call later and the foreman looked shocked. "Um, Mr. Masrani is on his way, he wants to see the shark. He should be here shortly." The foreman said.
"Marcus who is this Masrani guy?" Harry asked.
"He's the richest man in the world. He buys up companies, he bought INGEN to remake the dinosaur park. He'll do it to. The guy's crazy in a fun way. He's into extreme sports, and things like that. He's like a big kid. The man bought a baseball team and a stadium just so he could sit in the dugout and eat hotdogs with the team. The man is certifiable, but in a comical way not an evil bond villain way." Marcus said.
"Well, Neville is extremely attached to that huge fish, if they try to take it away he will get pissed off." Harry said.
"I doubt that's going to happen, Simon is a cool guy. I think he just want's to see the shark." Marcus said.
An hour later a sleek blue chopper landed on the beach twenty yards from the huge shark. A tall thin Indian man in a shiny gray suit stepped out of the chopper.
"Wow that's a big shark!" He yelled as he walked over to the group.
"It is, it's also mine." Neville said.
"You caught that? That's awesome. Can I get a photo by it's huge mouth?" Simon said rushing around to the huge mouth.
The INGEN people took a few shots. He had Neville and Harry pose with him for a few shots.
"Hey Simon." Marcus said walking over to shake his hand.
"Marcus! It's good to see you! Still not willing to take me on as a client? I'm getting really tired of Black Pond." Simon said.
"You're too much of a flight risk." Marcus said making Simon laugh.
"True. You should see what I'm doing now, you'd freak out." He said looking at the huge shark.
"I'd love to hear all about it. But the reason you were called here was because these men want to shred that shark and take it away." Marcus said.
"WHat! Why would they do that?" Simon asked turning to the foreman.
"Sir, it's INGEN's policy to hide any evidence we let the dinosaurs off the island." He said looking a bit unsure.
"Well that's a terrible idea! This thing belongs in a museum like the Smithsonian. Or the Field Museum in Chicago. I don't know what you guys at INGEN are so afraid of. We tell the truth. We say we didn't even know we made one of these. Those old INGEN records are scattered to the wind. I'll make a few calls and find a good home for it. We of course need to have it reproduced for future exhibits on the island but we need to let the public see it. If that's alright with you of course?" He said turning to Neville.
"Um, sure I guess." Neville said.
"We'll get a bunch of photos with you and the huge shark and we'll make sure your name is on the plaque we hang next to it. We're working on a program right now to do this sort of thing. In fact, you should all join the conversation. From the bullet holes I take it you will all be interested in the project." Simon said leading them to the house. Soon they were seated in Harry's huge study with cigars and drinks in hand.
"So what are you doing?" Marcus asked.
"We're opening a new park. The problem is, we need to get control of the two islands. The main island and the secondary site where the animals were raised and where experimentation was conducted. We're going in and capturing, or killing the animals. It's slow going because we're trying very hard not to get eaten. Really we just need to get the predators for now. The herbivores can just roam free for now. The problem we keep running into is the danger of tracking the raptors and T-Rexes. So far we only just set up a base camp on the beach. But we need to push in to get a foothold. We've lost three men already to the raptors. We need to get rid of the raptors, then we can work on the bigger predators." Simon said taking a puff on his cigar.
"And you want SSI to do what?" Marcus asked.
"I want to hire your company to hunt down the predators. I know you're a good hunter and you have a lot of good people. I'm dealing with second rate mercenaries. I could use your team." Simon said.
"Well I think it all sounds crazy. The whole thing, and I'm saying no." Marcus said.
"Oh come on, you're telling me that you don't want a shot at hunting a T-Rex? You guys just took on that megalodon. You know you want to hunt the number one apex predator in the world." Simon said.
"To tell you the truth it does sound fun, but I'm not crazy. There are only a few Steels left, I'm not doing something that crazy for a thrill." Marcus said.
"Well," Harry said from his spot next to Marcus.
"Hold on for a minute Simon, I need to have a chat with my head of violent relations for a few minutes." Marcus said pulling Harry out of the room. When they were in the hall he looked at Harry expectantly. "Well what kid? Spit it out." Marcus said.
"Well, it wouldn't be too dangerous. There are ways to do everything safely. A magical perimeter shield surrounding a mobile command centers and heavy armored trucks. Guns that shoot some big heavy rounds. Emergency portkeys incase something bad happens. It could be done." Harry said taking a draw on his Cuban cigar.
"Harry, are you telling me we could do this for real?" Marcus asked looking both excited and fearful at the same time.
"Yes, but it would take a lot of specialized equipment we don't have and we would need Mr. Smith, and Jimmy to fabricate. It's going to take time and money. But it's doable. Hell a trip like that could even be fun, but it would have to take a back seat for at least the next three or four months. We're booked up working on other things. I have my trip to Italy for my other job for the next three weeks. We have our vampire friends to deal with, and we still have to run a business. Aside from that I bet we could start on something like that by mid January. Sooner if the Daylight stones are harder to make then we think they are. The plan only works if we have those stones. If not then Viktor's house turns on Amelia and us by extension." Harry said.
"Right, these vampires better bring something to the table worth all this bullshit." Marcus said.
"Well, I'm not totally sure about this, a small bit of blood magic might make the insurance part of our jobs easier. They have a tracking charm that would make it a one man job to recover every piece that get's stolen. I think, I'm not sure how it works." Harry said.
"Really? Wow, I didn't know that." Marcus said puffing his cigar deep in thought.
"Yeah, Hermione was telling me about it. It was something she was working on a few weeks ago." Harry said.
"If we do this it's going to be crazy, you know that right? A T-Rex?" Marcus said shaking his head.
"It's not the craziest thing you could hunt, apparently my grandfather shot a ridgeback dragon with an elephant gun. You know that's another thing we could negotiate into the price for this job right?" Harry asked.
"You want to hunt a dragon?" Marcus asked.
"No, but we don't have to pay so God damn much for the hides anymore. They can take a few samples form a horntail, and crossbred it with a welsh green, and something else and we can farm the fucking dragons for a fraction of the price. We can farm them like cows. Sell the meat, sell the blood, and the bones for profit, and have the dragon lady just tan the hides for us." Harry said with a thoughtful look on his face.
"Your right. The price of dragonhide is cutting into the budget a lot. I love it when you come up with ideas that make me rich. Come on, let's go explain it to him." Marcus said leading him back into the room.
I took an hour of talking it out and a call to the genetics lab to confirm the science, but the deal was set. Simon pulled his people off the island and a simple contract was signed. They had dinner that night in the big dining room because the outdoor tables were set for the reception. After dinner the guys went out to the beach and gutted/taxidermy spelled the sharks and all the fish they caught. By ten that night they were drunk, and covered in fish guts. Hermione came out and met Neville on the beach. They walked around his big shark and talked in hushed tones for a bit before they parted ways. Hermione went back to the house and Neville conjured a pillow and leaned it up against his shark. Harry sat next to him in the sand.
"So, in a little under 14 hours you're going to be a married man. Do you feel any different?" Harry asked.
"No, I mean it suck I can't be with my wife tonight, but I get it. Why do you ask?" Neville asked in his relaxed voice.
"As you're best man I think it's my job to ask you if you're sure, but I know you're sure so I thought I'd fill the silence with small talk." Harry said laying back and looking at the stars.
"You don't have to. I think by now we can just sit here and enjoy life. Think about it Harry, this morning we went out on a quest to get fish for the reception tomorrow. We did that and then we almost died fighting the monster of all monsters of the deep. Think about that Harry, we almost died being stupid. But I've never been happier in my life… no, the night Hermione told me we were going to have a little girl. So this is the second happiest time of my life. You know, it's times like these that I'm happy I met you all those years ago. My life was forever changed because I met Harry Potter." Neville said.
"I can say the same thing about you. You stuck with me through everything. The brother I always wanted. I love you bro." Harry said.
"I love you too Harry. Now let's get some sleep." Neville said.
"That's right you need your beauty rest so you can look good tomorrow." Harry said.
"I don't have to look good, I'm going to be standing next to Hermione. She looks good enough for the both of us." Neville said as he dropped off to sleep.
Harry made a blanket and put a shield around him so the bugs didn't eat him alive. Harry walked up to his room and showered a second time. He came to bed and cuddled up to Abby.
"Neville okay out there in the sand? There was a perfectly good tent for him." She asked.
"Yeah, I set up a charm to keep the bugs off him. He's drunk, and dead from earlier. He's sleeping like a baby." Harry said slowly drifting off.
"He's not the only one." She said with a smile as he started snoring softly. He only did that when he was really tired. Killing a huge shark took a lot out of him. She slid down and curled up to his side and smiled when his arm came around her chest to hold her close to him.
