Hey guys! Like I said, it did take a bit longer than usual to get this one out, but only because I took it with care. Well, as much as I could.
To answer one of the reviewers, yes, there will be a sequel, because the sequel is going to answer a lot of things that were said in this story but haven't been explained. I'll also be starting another story with L and Betty's backstory at the same time. I don't know whether to do both of these stories at the same time, or update one until it's finished and start the other.
I'll leave a poll in my profile to see what you guys think. Anyway, thanks for reading! Enjoy!
Ron laid splayed across the grassy and dirt ground, dizzy from the explosion that had occurred. What the heck hit him? It happened so fast he didn't get to see what it was. Perhaps one of those lights rapidly shooting out of L prior to him getting hit. With this in mind, he quickly cast his eyes to his pocket, checking if Rufus was okay. The rodent was laying halfway in and out of his pocket with swirly eyes. He was fine, just out of it. Where was he anyway? Outside? He quickly got up, but got dizzy again as a result. He shook it off, moving his eyes around the area. It appeared he landed behind the school, yards away from the back entrance. From where he used to be, being here meant he was launched pretty far.. far away from the others and..
The freckled teen let out a loud gasp. "Kim!" As soon as her name left his mouth, an odd whistling sound could be heard, causing him to freeze for a brief moment. Before he knew it, an object from the sky bopped him on the head, causing him to yelp. He rubbed his head in pain and with one eye, looked around for what hit him.
"What the heck was that?" he asked, his voice showing clear indication of pain. The teen glanced to the ground and saw that a small, metallic cube was laying peacefully on the grass.
"The containment device!" he shouted, briskly picking it up from the ground and gazing at it with a contemplating look. "So if this is here.. and.. and not there," he began, gesturing towards Yamanouchi where everything was unfolding, a feeling of dread blossoming from within him simultaneously. "Then.. oh no, no, no, no! Kim, please for the love of God, tell me you didn't! We won't get another chance!"
Ron then took no hesitation to bolt back inside the building, with hopes that his girlfriend and everyone else aiding her were alive rather than reduced to ashes.
When the blasts reduced in numbers, it made it easier for those dodging to observe their surroundings and see what else was transpiring. This was the case for the warrior Goku when he ceased his movements momentarily, only to see the woman ahead about to blow. He couldn't think of anything else but to get near her and use his Instant Transmission technique to move her away where she couldn't self-destruct and take someone with her.
The real question was: did he have enough energy to get the job done?
"It's no use, I've got to try. I can't think of doing anything else to-"
Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by an odd sight ahead. He spotted Cell standing upright near the redhead he encountered before. He wondered how that came to be, but just as he did he could see the bio-android snatch the human girl by her battle suit and throw her at the assassin. It appeared the fiend was just as dastardly as ever, chucking a poor girl at a bomb with a wide devilish grin on his face. The Saiyan could only watch as she would meet her end.
But, unbeknownst to him, she had a trick up her sleeve; one last attempt in saving them all, and the Earth. Even if he thought she had a plan, it would be impossible to go through with it! Especially with the current circumstances! But of course, she was known to do the impossible.
With one good arm outstretched, Kim focused on the yellow glow amidst the dangerous, blinding red. Her vision was warped slightly, but she could still distinguish colors. It seemed Cell threw her a lot harder than she anticipated, because everything seemed to have happened within a second.
It felt like paper, her fingers were touching paper—an old, smooth parchment. It felt as if she were ripping it, but no, it was like lifting it off of a material somewhat adhesive, allowing the paper to stay intact without ado. This part in her "flight" felt the longest, but as soon as the scroll was detached from the woman's body, time caught up to her. Trying to land on her feet, her body hit the ground roughly and she tumbled until she hit a building far across from the main one.
Pain. As of now, it was the only thing she could think about. "That's definitely leaving a mark," she thought with gritted teeth, groaning in agony. The pain was resonating from her back, and her chest hurt from plummeting to the ground just early. Looked like she went too fast to make a smooth, graceful landing. This was better than being blown up, though. Speaking of which.. She painfully sat up, her back against the wood, and opened an eye to see if her plan had been successful.
Everyone was still for what felt like ages. The expected an explosion but nothing happened. It was taking time for it to register.. that there isn't going to be an explosion, at least, not one happening anytime soon.
"So, um, where's the bang?" Krillin asked, a puzzled expression in place.
"I don't think there's going to be one, Krillin," Trunks said in a relieving tone, but inwardly he felt old tension arise knowing that Cell was now free again.
"Hold on a moment, it's not over yet," Piccolo announced, taking a look at the assassin and her current bearing.
L was still shaking, this time even more violently. She was trying to keep everything contained within. With the loss of the scroll, everything inside forced itself right out of her and into the sky. Colors sprang forth and swirled around for a bit until it targeted those below.
"Oh no, not more!" the short warrior cried out, preparing to dodge more of the blasts that were shooting out of her earlier.
"Guys, stay still! Don't you sense that?" Gohan yelled from afar. "It's our energy!"
The colors that swarmed out now entered the bodies of the Z-warriors one at a time. As soon as they had, each and every one of them could feel their power returning in an instant. Their full power and energies were now restored, but with this knowledge in mind, they turned back to the blonde ahead of them.
L stayed silent, she could stare wide-eyed at her surroundings as she realized what had occurred. Her so-called immense power was no longer hers, but back to their rightful owners. The only boost she still had was from the mini chimera but his power alone wasn't enough to face any one of the fighters around her. Including herself!
"L!" Betty called out, darting out of the building and carefully approaching the woman. "You.. you should turn yourself in, while you still can," she managed out, coming closer to her. "I'll even help you, come with me-"
The assassin turned around with a look that couldn't be described. Scared? Angry? Confused? It was all combined into one. She could see a hand being outstretched toward her. Eyes widening further, she slapped it away and stumbled back, almost falling onto her rump.
"Get away from me!" she hissed angrily. "This is your fault! This all couldn't been prevented if you'd just kept your distance! You should've just.. stayed away.. away from me. Someone like you can never help someone like me." The assassin balled up her fists as she tried to compose herself. The situation just couldn't allow it; she was surrounded by people whose energies she stole and people she tried to kill.
"What should we do, Goku?" Krillin asked, genuinely confused at what he was seeing.
Goku appeared indifferent. He didn't know what to do with someone who no longer posed a threat, or could potentially pose a threat. He did know that she could no longer take the energies of others the way she used to, which meant she was incredibly weak now, compared to him and his friends at least. She wasn't really a danger now, so she couldn't really destroy them or the Earth if she wanted to. If anything, the real danger was right in front of her.
"Stand aside," a stern voice suddenly spoke behind Betty.
Dr. Director flinched at the sudden entrance of this voice and noticed it originated from Cell. He had a palm open with an orb of ki already forming. She was somewhat familiar with this and instinctively put herself in front of L with intent to protect.
"I have no issue sending both of you useless humans straight to oblivion. You really should've heeded me while you had the chance." The bio-android prepared to fire and wouldn't done so if he hadn't been immediately stopped by Son Goku.
"Not so fast, Cell," the Saiyan said as he gripped Cell's wrist tightly. "You and the rest of us still have unfinished business. Besides, they're not a threat, what's the point in taking their lives?"
The chimera yanked his wrist back and sent Goku an evil look. "Still as foolish as ever, aren't you? There doesn't have to be a point. Worthless humans are all the same, there shouldn't be a reason to kill them off. Besides, this one in particular," he paused, gesturing to L, "has been living too long for my liking. So, if you could just stand aside and I'll be sure to settle things with you in a moment."
"Dr. Director," Kim gasped out, trying to get up from her siting position. Cell really did a number on her throwing her as hard as he did. Every part of her body was begging her to stay still. Ignoring their aching pleas, she got up and tried to move forward, but one leg tripping the other caused her to fall down onto her knees.
Hearing this, Trunks and Krillin turned back to see what happened. The time traveler turned the short warrior and asked, "Do you still have those Senzu beans on you?"
"Oh, yeah sure, here you go," he replied quickly, grabbing a bean from the bag and handing it over to Trunks. "Really looks like she needs one."
"Thank you," the lavender haired teen said before sprinting to the redhead.
Kim looked up to see the demi-Saiyan kneeling over her with his hand stretched out to her. "Here, grab my hand. I got something that'll heal you right up."
The heroine grabbed his hand and got up, wondering what he had in mind. Considering what he can do, and who he was with, she supposed it was something magical or out of this world. "Let me guess, a magic bean?" she joked.
Coincidentally, Trunks opened his palm to reveal the green bean. The girl only stared with a semi-incredulous look, half expecting and half not expecting an actual magic bean.
"You guys really don't joke around," she responded, her dubiousness showing in her voice. She grabbed the tiny bean from his palm. "So, any side-affects I should be aware of?"
"Besides being healed, no, you should be good," he replied, watching her carefully put it in her mouth and eat it.
In an instant, all her pain and weariness were no more. Her eyes widened momentarily only to return to normal. "Spankin'," she murmured in an awestruck manner. She turned to the time traveler with a sheepish and grateful look. "Thanks for the.. uh, bean."
"Don't worry about it, we've got something more important to deal with right now," he said, turning away to look at Cell and Goku conversing.
Kim followed his gaze and remembered what was happening between the bio-android and Betty. It almost slipped from her mind that he just tried to kill her and L at the same time! Thank goodness Goku stepped in when he did.
"If that's how you're going to be, let's settle this elsewhere right now," Goku suggested. "I'm assuming you've been doing a lot of training in your free time."
"Dad," Gohan spoke, landing nearby. "Don't forget what was agreed on."
The Saiyan warrior nearly groaned in disappointment. Cell looked to the demi-Saiyan and scoffed.
"Of course, I haven't forgotten about you, Gohan, not since I lost to you. To have the chance to right that wrong won't be abandoned, I can assure you that," the bio-android spoke, causing the teen to scowl at him.
Kim sprinted forward, surprising Trunks for a moment as she briskly approached Betty and tried to get her away from what was going on.
"No, I can't go with you yet," Betty told her, moving away from the heroine and trying to remain where she stood. "I still have a chance!"
"Dr. Director, I hate to say it, but she's killed people! And a lot of them!" the redhead returned in a berating tone, her eyes almost tearing up as she continued. "She even killed Junior! Come on, we've got to go!"
"Junior? Like the little guys from seven years ago? The one who was with you!" Goku remarked as he looked to Kim.
"Yeah, that's him," the teen just said in reply, trying not to pay any heed towards Cell or anywhere in his direction.
"What, you're still upset about that?" Cell asked with a snort. He could tell she was trying to ignore him, but he wasn't going to let her get away with it successfully.
The heroine cringed at his words, remembering how he allowed the assassin to kill the mini chimera and becoming livid. "I'm sorry if I actually see worth in his life," she replied with a fierce glare.
"The only worth he had was the fact he came from me," he stated condescendingly, looking down upon her.
Kim regretted even giving him any sort of attention, it was like giving him the satisfaction of what he had done to her. Letting L take Junior's life was the same as committing the sinful act himself. She didn't want to give him more satisfaction, but she couldn't help the tears that welled up in her eyes to the point it glistened.
The bio-android scowled at the scene. The first time seeing her cry was funny, the second time was a quite a bother, but now it was incredibly annoying. Sadness did not befit her, also it was enigmatically irritating, and this was just the second time. Looked like she did have a gift after all; getting on his nerves with great ease. Biting back a growl, he said, "Word of advice, ask about the dragon balls. That should make us even."
"Even?" she inquired, her voice clearly still angry as she shot daggers at him. After all he had done to her and those she cared about.. what could there possibly be to make things remotely even?
"You released me, and made it simpler for me in the long run preventing that explosion," he said simply.
Goku's attention was caught by this. "Oh right, I almost forgot. Thanks a lot!" he exclaimed at the heroine, having a remembrance of the girl being thrown at L. "So that's what that was. I really thought Cell was trying to kill you. And don't worry about your little friend, I'm sure the others will use the dragon balls to reverse any damage that's been done."
"Dad," Gohan repeated, more firmly this time.
The Saiyan turned to his son, and this time he nodded, his face more solemn. "You're right, no more stalling." He turned to the chimera once more. "I believe you and Gohan have a fight to finish."
Cell scoffed. "You should know if he's an utter disappointment, I'll be looking to fight you next."
"L!" Dr. Director suddenly shouted, seeing the assassin make a break for it, seeing the assassin make a break for it. The brunette almost chased after the woman but skidded and stopped in her tracks when she saw the time traveler tackle her to the ground.
"You're not getting away this time," Trunks told her sternly, his arm around her neck.
"What's the point in keeping me here?!" she growled at him, her already thin pupils thinning even further. "I've got nothing! I.. I can't even do anything to you all! Why can't you just leave me alone?!"
Trunks could feel some of his energy being depleted now and he instinctively let go. He didn't realize she could still take energy from touch. The woman darted away from him, stumbling slightly before getting into a steady pace. She ran past the group that had been formed between Kim, Betty and the Z-warriors and toward the main building. Mostly because it lacked the amount of overpowered fighters in that direction.
"KP!" a voice shouted from afar.
"Ron?" Kim shouted back in question, moving away slightly to get a better look at him.
His silhouette got into view and he stood with Sensei and the others. He appeared fine, a few scuffs and scratches from the explosion but overall he seemed okay! Kim was relieved, but the sight of L sprinting in his direction got her attention once more. She let out a mini gasp and turned back to the boy.
"Ron, don't let her get away!" the redhead yelled at her boyfriend.
The freckled teen took a gander and saw the assassin running in his direction, as did his little friend. Thinking quickly, Rufus dived into his pocket and took out the containment device, tugging hard on his best friend's shirt and making loud vocalizations as he gestured to the tiny machinery.
When Ron saw, he swiftly took it from his small friend and as the woman was just about to pass by, he slapped her back with it and it began to unravel itself and envelop all over her from behind.
The woman could feel numbness spread all over. Letting out terrified gasps, she fell forward, unable to know what to do in this kind of situation. She struggled frantically and continued to do so when the device covered the entirety of her body. Unable to move, her mind was now at a standstill. All her years of training and studying didn't prepare her for something like this.
Sensei approached her and she glanced up with a frightened expression, her eyes wide. The old man looked.. sad. He knelt down, looking at her with sympathy. Albeit she only saw this as some sort of cruel punishment.
"Why.. why now?" she asked out briskly. "You didn't seem to care seventeen years ago, so why now?"
"Listen well, my student," he began. "Everything I did then was to ensure your well-being. All this sadness you've experienced was not my intention, but truly I am sorry."
Suddenly, L narrowed her eyes at him, said eyes beginning to sting. "You're..." she started, trying all her might not to lose her already dwindling sanity. "You're nothing but a foolish and lying old man! Don't talk like you understand and don't act like you care, you're just like everyone else! Get out of my face!"
Sensei gazed for a moment, but nodded and stood back up, moving away from her vicinity. He knew though, that the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes were now flowing and landing on the hardwood floor.
Cell almost laughed at the sight. He knew himself how being contained by that device felt, so better this than dead, he thought. Now she'd spend the rest of her small existence in that thing. This was a more fitting end.
Ron moved reluctantly away from her but rushed forward to meet with his girlfriend. He was about to hug her until he saw the bio-android standing idly nearby. His eyes narrowed a bit.
"Kim.. you had to do it, huh?" he asked the redhead, clenching his fists.
The heroine nodded, regretfully. "Yeah."
"Really?" he continued, his face appearing skeptical as he made gestures toward Cell with his eyes.
"Yes, Ron, really," she responded, rubbing one side of her head with a hand.
"Really, really?"
Kim almost frowned. "It's not like I wanted to, okay? No one had any stinkin' energy left and you got hit with a ball of-of-" She ceased speaking abruptly, trying to think of a word to explain the blasts.
"Energy," the chimera answered for her.
"Whatever!" she exclaimed, dismissing what the fiend had said—albeit he was right. "As much as I really, really don't like to admit it, he was our only option left. And you know, it ended up working in our favor after all."
Ron shifted for a bit. "I mean, you could've just waited for me," he muttered, pouting slightly.
"Well?" Gohan asked for a final time.
"I do remember saying last time you could choose where we would have our battle," Cell reminded him, crossing his arms. "You Saiyans continue to astound me with your denseness."
The demi-Saiyan ignored the derogatory comment all about and focused on the first thing the fiend had said. He decided to go with a place away from any civilization and life, he didn't want to risk the lives of many because of a fight like this. He turned back to the chimera and said," Follow me."
"Gohan!" Videl called out, running up to him and throwing her arms around his body.
Gohan's hardened look faded rapidly and he flushed for a moment, looking at his girlfriend for the sudden gesture. "Vi-Videl! What is it?"
She looked up at him with a smile, although with a bit of worry. "You better win again and come back, okay? I won't forgive you if you don't! Got it?!"
He put one arm around her and gave her a gentle squeeze. "Who do you think I am? I beat him before, I can do it again."
Cell was growing weary of all this constant sentimentality, and at this point it was really getting on his nerves. First it was Kim and Ron, and now it was this Saiyan brat. Between the two, he couldn't tell which was worse. "If you're done wasting my time, you can go on and choose where we fight. I might as well fight you here and now if you keep this up."
Gohan parted from Videl. "Can't wait to lose?"
The bio-android's eyes narrowed and he smirked, an evil laugh coming out. "Oh, you foolish boy, you have no idea what you're going up against."
The demi-Saiyan's body lifted into the air, moving higher until it sped away, with Cell following suit. He gandered back at the ground for a moment, observing the group of humans and letting out a rather short scoff before returning his gaze to the young adult ahead. Goku went up into the air and followed them, remembering that if Gohan wasn't enough, Cell would try to fight him next. He didn't want to miss that opportunity! Along with him, Piccolo and Vegeta followed; one wanting to know how it would end, and the other wanting to fight the bio-android themselves. All that was left was Trunks and Krillin down below.
Kim and Ron watched as they left. There was the probability that this would be the last time they see the bio-android. That, or he'd win and kill them all. Somewhere along those lines. Watching them fly, the heroine wondered if such an ability could be taught. Something else caught her attention though, something the chimera had said.
"Dragon balls.." Kim said in her head. Cell told her to ask about them, but why? She didn't even know where to start! Her eyes went to Trunks and Krillin ahead of her.
"Finally, it's over.. kind of," Ron remarked out loud, yet unsure. He didn't know how the fight with Cell would end, but he dearly hoped the menace would be gone for good.
"Yeah, I wouldn't worry about Cell if I were you," Videl told the blonde. "My boyfriend's the one who beat him all those years ago," she continued confidently. Ron's eyes widened.
"Are you for real?! Wait," he paused, looking back in his memories and finding the one conversation he had with Dr. Director. "I thought it was that Hercule Satan dude.."
Realizing what she said, the raven-haired girl's eyes flew open. "Oh! Forget what I said!" she exclaimed, jumping into the sky and flying away.
The heroine saw this and her eyes widened. "If she's human, maybe it can be taught after all!"
"I guess this is the part where we go home." Ron looked back at the main building and saw that Dr. Director had went for L again. Yori and Sensei stood together, conversing about something unknown while Shego was standing idly, planning ways to get back to the lair in her mind.
"Ho-hold on, Ron, there's something I have to do first," Kim told him tersely, before sprinting forward and approaching the time traveler and the short warrior. Ron only gazed with a puzzled look, but followed her as soon as she moved.
"Hey, don't worry about the fight with Cell, I know Goku or Gohan have the power to beat him," Trunks said to the redhead, seeing her approach.
"Huh? Oh, um, yeah I know. Cell always talked about fighting him," she replied, before continuing briskly. "You don't happen to know what dragon balls are.. do you?"
The demi-Saiyan nodded. "Yeah, are you wondering if we can revive Junior and everyone else Cell and L have killed?"
"Yes, and-" Kim stopped in mid-sentence and did a double take on what Trunks said. "Wait, rewind. Did you say revive? As in, bring back from the dead? Like.. like.. make them not dead?" she asked incredulously. What in the world? She didn't expect something like that! She thought she was seeing it all but here she was, continuously being gobsmacked by every new piece of information these fighters gave her.
"Dragon balls are seven orange balls with stars on them," Krillin suddenly elaborated. "When brought together, three wishes can be made, and reviving the dead can be one of them." After seeing Kim's face lit up, the short warrior felt a twinge of guilt from within. "But.. uh, there's a catch."
She knew it was too good to be true. "...What's the catch?"
"Well, they can only be used once a year, and they won't be working again for quite awhile."
"You used the dragon balls again?" Trunks inquired curiously.
Krillin nodded. "Yeah, we recently used it to wish back all the good people who died on the day of the Martial Arts Tournament."
"But that accounts for two wishes, shouldn't there be one left?"
The man sweat dropped. "We also wished to wipe their memories of what happened.. eheh.."
The time traveler sighed. "Figures."
"Well, how long do we have to wait?" Kim asked in a rush. "Is it long?"
"We did use it pretty recently.. I'd say at most about seven more months.." he finished with a sheepish look.
"And you're sure there isn't any other quicker way?" she continued to ask, stepping forward briskly and causing the short warrior to step back. "Goku said you guys would use them to reverse the damage!"
"I-I'm sure he meant when it was time to-to use them!" he replied back, stammering slightly before finding a firm voice. "Please understand, we had to use them last time to revive a massive number of people. You and your friend might've been included, you probably just don't remember since we used the last wish to wipe everyone's memories."
Kim stepped back and released a sigh. "Maybe I'm asking for too much. Beggars can't be choosers, I guess."
"KP, I don't think everyone gets the chance to bring back the dead, maybe the wait'll be worth it," Ron reassured her, wrapping an arm around and bringing her close.
"What about the Namekian dragon balls?" Trunks later asked Krillin.
"No can do, we used them to restore the Earth, everyone's lives, and Goku's energy for his fight against Buu."
"You revived everyone twice?"
Krillin rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, remembering what Trunks' father had done during the World Martial Arts Tournament. "You had to be there." Once he finished, he made a sudden realization.
"I suppose you'll have to wait those seven months, sorry about that," Trunks told the two.
"Hey, no big, I mean, seven magical wishing orbs.." the redhead trailed off, still trying to wrap her mind around it. "Bringing back dead people, it's just. Out of this world. Like Ron said, to even have the chance is just..."
The time traveler understood completely. It was unfortunate in his timeline that the dragon balls were rendered useless, but to have the chance to revive Goku and the others so that everyone could reunite again, it definitely was something that would make him and his mother happy. It was like they were one big family.
"Yeah, it really is something," he replied, a somewhat melancholy expression in place.
Ron didn't really notice it, but Kim did. The sudden look of sadness, despite how subtle and small it was, it was still there. Maybe he wanted a chance to use the dragon balls too? Before she could ask him about it, Krillin suddenly shot up from his relaxed posture.
"Ah! I just remembered!" the short fighter shouted out of nowhere. Then, he began counting with his fingers, puzzling the three people in front of them. They exchanged glances, but eventually Kim and Ron looked to the demi-Saiyan for answers, who only shrugged in reply. "It's been over 130 days! If they haven't used it already, you guys could use the Namekian dragon balls!"
"Good thing you remembered," Trunks commented.
"Well, of course, how could I not? We kept re-using them as soon as they were ready to revive everyone after all that Frieza biz."
The time traveler turned to the duo once more. "We could take you to the lookout to see if we can use the Namekian dragon balls." He and Krillin held out a hand.
As they did, Kim turned back to see what was unfolding between everyone at the main building. Shego was now.. gone. That was expected at least, she must've hitched a ride somewhere else to who knows where. Hopefully she didn't run into Eric, wherever he was. She dearly hope not to run into that again. All that was left was Sensei, Yori, Betty and L. She could bet they were all wondering what to do with the assassin. She might've imagined it, but she could've sworn she saw tears in the blonde's eyes. Maybe she'll get taken to Global Justice and be contained there. With the director watching her, she should be in good hands.
"Go! We have got it handled here, Kim Possible and Stoppable-san!" Yori shouted from where she was at, noticing Kim's stare and waving at them with a small smile.
The crime fighters returned the wave and returned to the Z-warriors.
"Ron, you got any flight left in you?" Kim asked her boyfriend as she nudged him on the shoulder playfully.
The freckled teen let out a weary groan. "Man, I'm pooped. I'll let the strong guys handle that." Rufus reacted similarly, drooping himself out of the boy's pocket and sighing.
Dende, Android 18, and Mr. Popo were all that was left on the lookout. Trunks and Goten left to play with their new friends.. or experimenting, as Kim's younger twin brothers would put it. That meeting would soon ensue once Porunga would grant the soon-to-be-made wishes.
"I sense Krillin and Trunks coming," Dende announced. "Along with two others, I believe." He somewhat recognized them. They were here prior to being sent to their new destination. One had to be healed, and the other just waited for the one being healed, to be healed. There was one more, though, he wondered what happened to them, it was a child, that little detail he remembered.
Once the blonde android heard the guardian, she turned to the outskirts of the lookout, staring into the sky and seeing their silhouettes showing up. Trunks and Krillin eventually made it onto the lookout, dropping two unexpected passengers onto the floor gently.
"Hey 18, look at me, perfectly fine," he told her, remembering what she said about killing him before Cell got to it.
"That's more like it," she responded with a smile. "What's with deal with those two?"
When the short fighter noticed her pointing at the crime fighters, he replied, "They got mixed up into some bad business with Cell. Some lives were lost, we're going to use the Namekian dragon balls to wish them back.
"Generous, aren't you?"
He let out a sigh. "Well, someone's gotta be."
"And your hair?"
Krillin finally remembered what had transpired and beads of sweat enveloped his forehead. "I'd like to ignore that subject for now, okay?" He then turned to the young Namekian nearby.
"Hey, Dende, you think you could contact Moori about those Namekian dragon balls? Looks like we need them one final time—at least, I hope so."
"Heard you when you first mentioned it," Dende responded quickly. "I already contacted King Kai and he's getting Moori to gather them. I'll tell you when they're summoning the dragon."
"And there's dragons too?!" Ron shouted, his eyes bulging.
"I think I'm going to get a headache from all this new info," Kim admitted. There might as well be unicorns while they're at it.
"So how should we word this wish?" Krillin asked, almost to himself. He turned to the crime fighters.
"Hey.. this isn't like that genie type thing, where they twist up our wish, right?" the redhead asked warily.
"As long as the dragon knows your intentions, your wish will be granted the way you want it," Trunks assured her.
"Okay, cool," Ron said while nodding. "So, you said there were three wishes, right?"
Kim sent her boyfriend an angry look. "Ron!"
"Hey, if a magical dragon's granting three wishes, I'm wondering where the other one or two are going into, alright?!"
"Well, in any case, I suppose our wish will be.." the redhead paused for a moment, contemplating before continuing, "revive everyone who was killed by Cell and L. That should revive Team Go and General Sims for Cell, Junior and some assassinations for L. Does that count as one wish?"
"You got it," Krillin told her, before turning to Dende. "You heard her, Dende!"
The young Namekian nodded and told the wish to King Kai, who in turn, told the wish to Moori. Now, they waited for the results..
"Hey, if this works.. where are they going to be?" the heroine asked the time traveler, genuinely curious. "They won't spawn in the middle of nowhere, right?"
"It will work, and my best guess would be the place they initially died," he answered. "I'm used to the Earth's dragon balls, so I'm not sure how these Namekian ones would work."
"So, what are your two other wishes?" Dende asked out of the blue.
"It's been granted?!" Ron asked incredulously, curiously looking around to see if the deceased could really walk upon the Earth again.
"Yep, they should be on the Earth, presumably where they died," the young Namekian answered him.
Junior blinked for a moment.
He was in a line somewhere.. and he met a very large, bearded red man with a hammer at a also very large desk.
"Must've come late," this red man had said, as he eyed him. "Seven for HFIL, and this one for.." The mini chimera remembered seeing his eyes widen. "Today's your lucky day, kid. You're going upstairs."
He didn't remember much of that incident, mostly because it confused him, but somehow he was back at Yamanouchi. Looking forward, he noticed he wasn't looking at Kim's face anymore, but those who remained after everyone left.
Once he looked upon the assassin, a growl left his mouth. He powered up and almost attacked if it weren't for Betty shielding the woman and quickly explaining, "She's been contained by the containment device! She's not a threat, and she hasn't hurt Kim and Ron. They're, um.. they're at.." The woman paused. Truth be told, she had no clue where they were at presently.
If they were safe, then his father must've chosen to spare them again. This relieved him, but he wanted to know where they were. Just because he spared them now, didn't mean he planned on hurting them later. That was a worrisome thought, so he hoped the fiend chose to go elsewhere far away.
"Little one, they are somewhere very tall, high into the sky," Sensei spoke. "I'm positive you know where."
It clicked into the mini bio-android's mind and he shot into the sky like a bullet.
They all watched as he left, then returning to the situation at hand.
"She's coming with me to Global Justice," Betty told the two.
"I would advise against that," Sensei responded.
"But it's not against this fate you speak of, is it?"
"To speak the truth, I know not if I am at liberty to say so. But there is one thing I must do first."
The brunette sent him a curious look. "Is it necessary?"
"Yes, this ability to take life energy is quite dangerous, and it needs to be removed."
So this is how it came to be. The ending she supposedly deserved. Everything would've gone through smoothly if there weren't so many interruptions to her plans. Yes, the power and energy she took was incredibly massive, but she was adjusting to it each time she took from it. She tried desperately to find the one thing that kept her from her destiny in order to prevent this from happening again. To remove this factor would mean success in the future. It couldn't end here!
Instead of tears, steam came from her eyes.
Of course, the answer was obvious, the answer was right in front of her. It was always that damned freelance hero, saving the world as a hobby. Not that it wasn't impossible, but a hate was churning within far greater than for those who wronged her back in Global Justice and Yamanouchi. She decided to make it a priority that Kim Possible would be no more, no matter the cost.
And scene.
There goes the end of this arc. Like I promised, this chapter is longer by around two thousand words. Anyway there's still around one or two more chapters left until the stories finished, and I'll begin the first chapter of the sequel, AKA finale, and the backstory for L.
You don't have to read the backstory, it's only there so I have all the details in place. From where she started, to how she came to be. It's kind of recommended since the sequel might reference to it around here and there.
Anyway, thanks for reading! :D Make sure to check out the poll so I know which story to take priority of next.
Until next time!
