A/N: I know that it's been a long time since I've updated, but I've finally graduated, so I have time again! In my last chapter I had a guest review who hated the idea of Magnus having children with Lily. As a person who loves Malec, I understand. That means Magnus had to have sex with her, which means he "cheated". However, because of the era and the 'having heirs' policy, to keep up appearances it would be odd if they didn't. Now, if the kid's a boy, they're set. Also, I know you (guest reviewer) understand that as you stated it in the review; I'm clarifying for those who don't read them. In theory, Magnus doesn't have to care about Alec, but he chooses to. I hope the current story line and the continuing ones don't keep you from enjoying the story overall.

Chapter 35

Walking along the road, Magnus made his way to Camille's. He had no idea what he was going to say to her, but he had a feeling she would know what he came for. He began to look at the numbers on the houses until he recognized one as Camille's.

He walked up the short path to the door. He rapped roughly on it twice and waited impatiently until the door was answered. Archer answered the door and glared at Magnus. "Ah, please tell your lady that Lord Alicante has arrived."

He nodded and Magnus waited for his return. When Archer came back he widened the door so Magnus could step over the threshold. He followed Archer down a wall papered hallway and into a parlor.

Camille was residing in a high back chair to the right of a fire place. She smiled. "Magnus, what a lovely surprise." She looked towards Archer. "Have some tea sent in."

Archer nodded and left the room. Magnus sat down in an identical chair across from Camille, facing away from the door. "So," started Camille. "What brings you here? Just passing through? Seeing the sights? Or did you miss me?"

"Don't flatter yourself," spit Magnus.

Camille's expression didn't change. "I've wondered how Alicante has been without me. I'm sure it's quite dull. Though I don't think I can say that about Brooklyn Manor. How is everything going, Magnus? Anything new?"

"Fine, Lily and I had a wonderful time on our tour of Asia. We came back roughly two months ago."
"I'm sure you did. Did anything fun come of it?"

Magnus repositioned himself in his chair. "If you are indelicately asking if Lily is with child, them yes you are correct."

Camille clapped her hands. "How delightful! How long have you known?"

"Not very long."

"Was this before or after Woolsey sent all those letters about Lightwood, but none about what was happening back home."

Magnus didn't miss a beat. "Of my understanding, after."

Camille pouted. "I wish I could help you Magnus, really. If I had left after your wedding instead of before I might have known something, but alas you can't change the past. You can only hope for a better future."

Magnus leaned closer to Camille. "Are you sure you haven't heard anything about, Alexander? Woolsey told me the last letter you sent was two weeks ago. Things can change. You may have talked with people. Seen him in the streets. Heard of him in passing. I know you could never be completely isolated from the world, Camille. You love to know exactly what is going on around you."

"I assure you I have no more knowledge then you. If there was anyway I could truly help I would, but there just isn't. Everything I could offer, Woolsey is already doing. I think it is very loyal of Woolsey to be trying so hard."

"He certainly isn't going down without a fight."

Camille slouched back in her chair a bit. "Tell me, Magnus. Why get worked up over some servant? I'm sure you have already replaced him, so why bother. He can't have meant much to you. Why don't you give up the search and let it go?"

Magnus griped the arms of the chair. "His family requested we try to search. I humored them since Alexander had been such a faithful servant. After I talked with you I planned on stopping the search and telling his family he couldn't be found. It would be better that way."

"Magnus?"

He proceeded with caution. "Yes?"

Camille looked at Magnus with her malicious eyes. "Why do you call him Alexander?"

Magnus blinked. "Pardon?"

"I don't call any of my servants by their Christian names. Why do you address him as such?"

"He has a sister," he blurted out. "It would be very confusing to the others if we addressed them both as Lightwood."

"Why would it matter to you? You only deal with Alexander, not the other Lightwood. You should be calling him Lightwood."

Magnus grew angry. "I didn't come here to be lectured on my conduct with my servants."

"I know, dear, I know. You came here to see if you could learn anything more about Lightwood. I have patiently replied to Woolsey's letters honestly and I have answered your questions the same way. I advise you drop the subject before I have Archer throw you out," threatened Camille.

Magnus stood up. "If you weren't such a manipulative bitch we wouldn't have to ask you to confirm your story time and time again."

Camille gasped. "Of all the years we've known each other how could you say such things."
"Maybe it's because I've known you for years!"

Magnus heard the door open behind him, but he continued to stare Camille down.

She turned to him and smiled. "I guess tea is better late than never, but it seems we might not need it." She turned to face the door and her smile faded. "Go away, can't you see I'm busy!"

"Magnus?"

He turned around, knowing fully well whose voice it was. Standing behind him, holding the tea service, was Alec.

A/N: Bum, bum, buuum.
