Despite Magnus's protests Alec decided to go over to Luke and Jocelyn's for the party. His feet were still a little swollen but it was much better than when he'd arrived back from Taki's, so he was sure he'd be okay. Approaching the door he could hear the others inside laughing and talking. He smiled to himself, he'd missed this over the past couple of months. Alec knocked lightly.

"Come in!" Jocelyn yelled from inside the house. Adjusting his oversized sweatshirt one last time he opened the door and walked into the kitchen.

"Alec!" Jocelyn said pulling him into a hug. "It's so nice to see you."

"Thanks. It's nice to see you too." He said. Luke entered the kitchen with an empty pizza box. Jocelyn grabbed a fresh pizza box and took it into the living room.

"Hey, haven't seen you in a while kiddo." He said, offering a little wave.

"Yeah, things have been kind of hectic lately." Alec admitted.

"I heard you moved in with Magnus." Luke told him.

"Yeah, a couple of months ago."

"I also heard your parents didn't take it so well."

"Not really."

"I'm sorry." Luke placed a hand on Alec's shoulder. "If you ever need anything, even if it's just too talk, we're here for you."

"Thanks. That means a lot to me." Alec told him, as he bit back tears. Luke clapped him on the back.

"Everybody's here, so if you want any of that pizza you're going to have to wrestle Simon and Jace for it. Maybe Maia."

"Guess I'd better join the party then."

"Yes sir." Luke chuckled. Alec slipped past him and pushed open the swinging door to the living room. Jace and Clary sat on the couch, each with a plate of pizza balanced on their knees. Jocelyn was next to them on the couch with a drink in hand. Maia and Simon were on the floor cutting up a pizza and Isabelle was draped across the recliner watching the television.

"Hey." He said to get their attention.

"Alec!" Isabelle shrieked jumping up to pull him into a tight hug. "I missed you." She whispered. Alec held her tightly and placed a kiss on her cheek, feeling guilty. It had been almost six weeks since he'd spoken to his sister.

"You came." Jace said, sounding mildly surprised.

"Yeah." Alec said, releasing Isabelle. "I wanted to see everyone."

"Glad you came, eat some pizza, drink some soda." Maia instructed. "I'm not allowed to leave until the foods been eaten."

"Happy birthday." Alec said with a laugh.

"Thanks."

"So where you been man?" Simon questioned. Alec sat on the floor next to him and reached for a slice of pizza.

"Stuff's just been kind of heavy lately." Alec told him with a shrug.

"Sorry to hear it, are you and Magnus okay?"

"Yeah, we're great." Alec replied with a smile. "We're better than great actually. We got some pretty exciting news."

"What's that?" Inquired Jocelyn.

"Well, I don't want to steal your night Maia."

"Go for it, please." Maia urged him.

"Luke?" He called, standing back up. "I only want to do this once." He explained to the others. Luke walked in and Alec motioned for him to take a seat.

"Okay so Magnus and I, we're going to be parents." He said.

"You're adopting a kid?" Simon asked from the floor.

"But you're so young!" Jocelyn exclaimed.

"Umm, actually. We aren't adopting…" He began to explain, Maia cut him off.

"Are you like using a surrogate or something?"

"No, that's not it, you see the thing is…" He was blushing profusely by the time Luke cut him off.

"Alec if you are in some kind of trouble with a girl…"

"Excuse me?!" He shouted, horrified that Luke would think that.

"I'm not accusing I'm just telling you that if you need some kind of help…"

"He would never cheat on Magnus like that!" Isabelle protested.

"Well then how did this happen?" Simon questioned.

"How did what happen? You don't even know! You won't all shut up so he can explain." Jace shouted. Alec was feeling sick, he'd clearly made a mistake. Telling everyone all at once had been a serious mistake. They kept arguing but all he could hear was a ringing in his ears. In addition he was getting dizzy, very dizzy. He almost felt like maybe he might…

"He's about to pass out!" He heard Jocelyn yell above the din.

"Alec, are you alright?" Luke asked, walking towards him.

"I feel really dizzy." He told them. "I think I'm going to…" He leaned over slightly and vomited. "Sorry." He said and promptly fainted.

Alec woke up in a strange bedroom and almost panicked until he remembered what had happened. Looking over he saw Jocelyn standing by the bed.

"Sorry I threw up on your carpet." He mumbled.

"Don't worry about it, it's already been taken care of."

"How long was I out?" He asked.

"Only about forty minutes. You gave us quite a scare."

"Did Jace and Isabelle tell you about the baby?"

"Yes, they explained it to us."

"Is it okay?"

"I'm not a doctor, but I think so. You aren't bleeding or anything. How far are you?"

"Sixteen weeks."

"You're probably alright then. You have a doctor I should call?"

"Catarina Loss."

"I know her. I'll be right back." Jocelyn said before exiting the room.

Alec placed both hands over his stomach. "Oh baby boy, please be okay. Daddy loves you so much."
