It didn't take long for Doctor Christopher, clipboard in hand, to walk past the Medical Bay in time to find his patients both passed out on the same bed. Shaking his head with an amused smile he quietly walked over as Jason yawned, eyes still shut as he drapped an arm around his girlfriend's waist.
The moment I felt his arm wrap around me I cracked open my eyes to find Doctor Christopher leaning over me. "Huh...when did you walk in?" I mumbled and he chuckled, waiting patiently as I slipped out from under Jason's grip before I stretched.
"A few minutes ago. Normally I would let you both sleep but I need to check your vitals. After that you can sleep if you want." Doctor Christopher and I nodded, watching as he produced a stethiscope from his pocket. "Okay so roll up your shirt and I'll check your heartbeat." He instructed and I did so, yawning before I felt the stethiscope press against my chest. Hearing me yelp he couldn't help a laugh before he asked me to breathe in and out.
As I did I heard Jason yawn and when I turned my head slightly he cracked open an eye to see me with my bra on display. "Nice look." He mumbled and I snorted as he closed his eye falling asleep as I covered myself up again.
"Now I need you to follow this light." Doctor Christopher instructed, producing a penlight and so I followed the light, blinking when it flashed into my eyes. "Oops. Anyway you seem to feeling better. How does your head feel?"
"My cheek itches and my left eye kind of stings." I replied and he peered at my left eye for long enough to make me a little worried. "Is something wrong?"
"Other than your black eye? Plus the stitches on your cheek? Not much." He joked and I sighed, lifting my hand before I could stop myself. "I wouldn't do that otherwise I'll have to redo your stitches." He warned and I quickly removed my fingers inches from my cheek.
"Okay I'll leave my face completely alone." I promised and he grinned as he straightened. "How's Jason?" I asked hearing a groan and I turned around to find Jason with his eyes fully open, a frown on his lips.
"Tired, sore and wanting to sleep." Jason grumbled and I grinned leaning over him. His foul mood improved a little when he felt soft lips press against his own. "Though that does help."
"I thought it might. Want to get something to eat?" I suggested and Jason stared at the ceiling for a few seconds before he pushed himself up with a groan. "Yeah I'm starving too."
"I'm not sure walking would be wise." Doctor Christopher sighed and I looked as he fiddled with the stethiscope hanging around his neck. "Though you two do need to keep up your strength." He added and I gave him a big smile as I climbed a little awkwardly from the bed. When Jason tried to follow me he was less than graceful and he would have tumbled to the floor had Doctor Christopher not caught him under the arms in time.
"Up you go." I grunted as I helped lift my android boyfriend off the cold floor with the doctor's help. "Now let's go get lunch...or dinner. I have no idea truthfully." I admitted as we helped carry the limping android out of the Medical Bay and in the direction of the cafeteria.
"Now this is much better." I sighed, now seated on one of the plastic chairs in the cafeteria and across from me Jason gave me a grin. "Now what would you like?"
"I can walk you know." Jason grumbled as he tried to stand only to wobble and with a groan he settled back into his own chair with some difficulty. "I can't even stand. Brilliant."
"Hey you're the one that Mega Elementor used for a punching bag. So I should be the one helping you." I replied and he grimaced waving his hand in a slow circle as I waited beside the table. "So once again what would you like to eat?"
"A sandwich with cheese and ham. Also a cup of coffee or what N-Tek considers one anyway. Two sugars." Jason finally answered and I gave him a grin, reaching over to lightly pat the android's hands before I headed over to grab his and my lunch. Grabbing Jason's lunch first I carefully chose my own, a sandwich with cheese and tomato and a cold can of soda. I had only been gone a few minutes when I returned to find Jason with his head drooping and I giggled, the android slowly blinking up at me when I set down the tray.
"Still sleepy...give me a break." Jason mumbled as I sat opposite him watching on amused as he leaned over to grab his coffee. Opening the sugar packets he dropped the contents into the cup, picking up the spoon I'd brought back before he stirred it. Blowing on the top of the cup he took a sip giving the cup a tiny grin, watching as I took a sip of my own drink to hide my smile.
We ate our meals in silence too preoccupied by our thoughts at just how far the pair of us had come to becoming friends then lovers. That last thought made my cheeks redden and opposite me Jason raised an eyebrow, curious as to why I was blushing.
Once I'm healed I'm very much looking forward to finding out just what you're thinking about. Especially if it concerns the two of us...being alone together.
I noticed the smug smile on Jason's face appearing as soon as he finished his sandwich. Leaving me to guess just what he was thinking about.
He has a smirk on his face right now. Doesn't take a genius like him to figure out it's something to do with us. Knowing Jason it's probably something sexual and...oh why did I have to think that? Get your mind out of the gutter, Crystal.
"Something the matter, Crystal?" Jason asked and I quickly shook my head taking a sip of my soda to hide my smile. "So where do you want to go from here?"
"My dorm's bed." I replied when he yawned and he cracked a tiny smile at me. "Not for that, Jason. I don't know about you but I could use a nap. My body still aches from that fight with Dredd and Elementor." I pointed out and he gave me a tiny nod, setting his empty cup on top of the tray I'd brought back.
"Okay so I'll just take our tray back and then we'll head there." I told him as I climbed from the table, ignoring his weak protests as I picked up the tray. "I'll take it back so you wait right here." I added giving him a grin as I stepped past him, dodging his attempt at snatching the tray from my hands.
Whistling softly to myself I dumped our trash into the bin before I returned the tray, turning around to see Jason standing. Once I noticed his legs were trembling I sighed moving as quickly as my own tired legs would allow and he jerked when he felt one of my arms wrapping around his shoulders. "Come on. Bedtime." I teased and he just snorted as I helped him towards the doorway.
After a long walk mostly due to our combined exhaustion we made it to my dormroom and I sighed, pausing in front of the door. Though as I started to search my pants for my key I groaned when I couldn't find it Jason leaning on the wall beside the door as he watched me getting more and more frustated by the second.
"Let me guess; you lost the key huh?" Jason teased and I shrugged as I turned to see him carefully push off from the door. "Maybe we should just go back to the Medical Bay. I really don't want to search the whole of N-Tek for a set of keys and I doubt you do too."
"I guess you're right. Let's go back and lie down there." I admitted and Jason nodded, draping an arm around my shoulders this time. By the time we reached the Medical Bay I was ready to drop and so was Jason the former THI CEO dragging his feet.
"Finally." Jason gasped and I gave him a weak grin my head resting against his as we stumbled into the Medical Bay, barely making it to the nearest bed. It took some coordination between the two of us as we tried to figure out how to share a bed. Eventually he lay on one side and I rested my head on his chest, sighing as he wrapped one arm over my waist.
"Perfect." I whispered and Jason just smiled back at me, yawning. "Couldn't have said it better myself." I mumbled not noticing that Jason had already closed his eyes. Too tired to keep my eyes open any longer I relaxed, not feeling Jason's grip on my shirt tighten or the faint smile on his face.
I'm not sure how long I slept though I do remember waking from a nightmare, shoulders shaking and with sweat covering my forehead and cheeks. Hearing me wake with a cry Jason's eyes shot open to find me sitting there, shaking with my arms wrapped around me.
"Bad dream huh?" He asked and when I blinked at him he gave me a faint chuckle. "Sadly I know that feeling all too well." He replied, drapping an arm around my shoulders. After a few seconds I shifted over resting my head against his chest and he nodded, gently rubbing my back until he felt me relax.
"Thanks, Jason." I whispered and he leant over his lips brushing my forehead before we lay back and I rested my head on his chest. "For everything." I mumbled as I closed my eyes though before I fell back asleep I heard his voice.
"You're very welcome." Jason muttered, closing his eyes when he heard my breathing quieten.
