Chapter 36: All Monsters Get Slain

That rest of the week went by peacefully and slowly,

On the Wednesday and Thursday, Kushina went back to work with strict orders that before Minato went back to work and Naruto to school, they had to be better healed than they were and on the Friday despite both of them feeling as if they had been ready days ago, Naruto finally went to school and Minato to work.

It was in the evening time, that day when the peacefulness of the week came to a pause being that, Kushina went to Kinoshita's house to confront him for the last time... alone.

Flashback

"Kushina?" Kinoshita said surprised as he looked out on to his front steps to see Kushina standing there, the quiet backdrop of the evening sky behind her. "You just can't keep away from me, can you? Finally realized how much worse your life has gotten with those two blond twats in your life."

Looking behind her and around her as if searching for them, he smirked and said, "Don't tell me he let you come here alone".

Kushina pursed her lips, wondering why she'd been so stupid to come here, let alone by herself. She had no idea how she was going to explain this to Minato he's be furious and so worried when he found out where she'd been. She didn't even really know how it happened, she had borrowed Minato's car to go to the store and then on the way back, she'd seen Kinoshita's house and ended up on his driveway. It was like she felt a surge of power mixed in with her anger from what he had done and she wanted to exercise it, now that she was no longer afraid of him.

"You're not scared " he said daringly, tauntingly, a hardened tone to his voice

"No, I thought you would have figured that out when I slapped you" she replied steadily, a look of resolve in her eyes.

Kinoshita glared at her as he replied, "Well we're even, it's not like I never got you."

"Even" Kushina spluttered with fury in her eyes, "Do you not have an ounce of pride to realize that a grown man hitting a women because he can't control his anger is wrong? This isn't some kind of game, you hit me, I hit you, but maybe it is to you, are you going to one up me now and hit me once more, so you're dominating?"

For a second she could have sworn she saw a guilty look flash across his face but as quickly as it was there it disappeared, and the hardness in his look came back and he stepped towards her and coldly said, "I don't know maybe, I was at the time but your f****** boyfriend stopped me."

"He's not here now" she replied coolly, looking into his dark eyes.

There was a long pause, a moment of silence as Kinoshita stared into her glaring eyes but then he nonchalantly said, "When somebody hits you, your first instinct is to hit them back, and so that's what I tried to do, I was furious and I lashed out but I'm glad that time that I didn't get you."

"Is that suppose to be some type of justification, because it justifies nothing and what about the first time when you really did get me" she said angrily.

"I told you to f****** move but you didn't, you brought that on yourself, it wasn't for you, nobody asked you to play hero for the brat. You could have moved" he said voice raised.

"And let you punch a kid because you were angry, I could never. I pray to God that you will never have children of your own because if you think anger justifies harming a kid, then I shudder to think how your children will turn out."

"I take care of the people important to me and me not caring about a brat off the slums in no way negates that." Kinoshita said sharply, a deep scowl on his face.

"What like you took care of me" she retorted bitingly, "it negates it in every way, you no longer have an ounce of kindness or compassion in your heart to care for anyone but yourself, you just hurt everyone around you."

"You mean you, you were just too fragile that's the truth Kushina, I meant what I said that day at your work place though, I never did mean to hurt you."

Kushina shook her furiously head and bitterly said, "I can't believe that, not after how much you put me through and if you still haven't even realized how selfish, insensitive and brutish you were when we were together, then there's honestly not a slither of hope for you. You say you never meant to hurt me but you did a lot and if you're too pig-headed to realize why and to understand that you were in the wrong, then you can't learn from it and grow."

"F*** you" he muttered angrily, the mildly apologetic demeanour having disappeared. "Acting all high and mighty."

Kushina narrowed her eyes at him, "I'm simply stating..."

But she was interrupted as he harshly said, "If you're fishing for an apology you're not going to get it, that was the closest thing to it you'll ever get and you didn't take it, so don't expect the words sorry to fly out of my mouth".

"No, it's much too late for that now anyway, you're much too cold " Kushina replied scornfully, "Big guy, tough guy, you're just pathetic, when I was with you, you tried dominating because you had no real strength or power, so to bring yourself up, you had to pull me down. You had to control me to make you feel as if you were boss, you had to hurt me, to make you feel strong. But that wasn't power, that was just your own feebleness. And now that I'm gone you have nothing to help build yourself up, and you realize how feeble and weak you really are, you realize all your worth is pity. So in that horrible state you're in, you figure if you can't use somebody to bring you up then you'll just try to bring everybody down instead."

Kinoshita laughed bitterly, anger in his eyes as he retorted, "Try, I didn't have to try dominating you, you bent to my will, you were my b****"

"You've just proved my point, you're trying to do just as I said, it's pathetic and it's disgusting."

Her voice rose in anger as she looked at him furiously and said, "What you did to Naruto was absolutely despicable, you knew his father abused him and yet you threatened him to go back there. You threatened a small kid to go back, knowing he'd get hit. And he did get hit and it was bad and I just... I wonder what your limit is, you put your hands on a women and a child, you threaten that child to runaway knowing that he would get beat and then you brag about it and smirk as if you have any right to feel pleasure from those monstrous actions, it's despicable and quite frankly, sickening"

Kinoshita shrugged his shoulders and menacingly said, "Then maybe I'm a monster"

"I don't doubt that" she retorted spitefully, but then her voice softened ever so slightly and she looked him steadily in his cold, angry eyes and said "But I, but why? Despite everything, I know my first boyfriend had some good in him, that's why I stayed with you so long, because I hoped that it would show through and grow... But I don't see it anymore."

"Of course it's gone" he shouted angrily, trembling with rage as he took a couple steps towards her, "cause you're f****** gone!"

Kushina shook her head furiously, her voice cracking, as she said, "because you hurt me, you broke me. That's the difference between you and Minato, you hurt and break, he nurtures and loves."

Kinoshita grabbed out, clasping onto her shoulders roughly as he angrily spluttered, "I may have broken you and been a horrible boyfriend... but I loved you too!"

Kushina bit her lip then shook her head, "Let go of me!"

He released her, "Are you f****** happy now?" Kinoshita said viciously, looking right at her, his eyes ablaze, "I admitted it, isn't that what you wanted? Isn't that why you're here? Because you want closure because you want to feel as if you weren't so stupid and pathetic enough to fall in love with someone who didn't love you back?"

There was a pause as Kushina glared back at him just as furiously, trying to figure out her bundle of emotions, trying to channel her thoughts.

"Here" she said coldly, "No, maybe once I wanted that but it's much to late, you've hurt me way too much for me to care for that."

"Then why the f*** are you here Kushina?" he said threateningly, Kushina didn't back down though, she refused to, she didn't even squirm under his intense aura, she just looked at him angrily and fiercely said, "I'm here to tell you to stay the hell away from my family! I'm here to tell you that you're sickening plan back fired because not only do we have Naruto back but we now have legal parental rights of him."

Her voice got louder and more powerful as she said, " I'm here to tell you that the day Minato warned you about is swiftly approaching and when it comes all three of us will be laughing and smiling and celebrating at your demise and lastly, I'm here to tell you that we're stronger and happier than ever and that no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to knock us down anymore!"

"You're really pissing me off now" he bellowed, "I can knock you down any time I want, all three of you. That's the real difference between me and Minato, I hit where it hurts, he hits like a b****."

Kushina shook her head in disdain, "I'm going now, I've said what I needed to, so I see no point in sticking around you're despicable self any longer" she replied firmly as she began to walk away but Kinoshita wasn't having that and he grabbed onto her wrist, clasping onto it tightly as he pulled her back right towards him.

Not letting her go he spitefully hissed, "Kushina, after messing with that brat, I was done, I was going to wipe my hands of you guys but you coming here, trying to act all strong has enticed my anger, so I'm going to rip apart your family because like I told you before, I don't want you happy with that self-righteous snob or annoying brat."

Kushina just glared at him as she tried to break free from his grip.

"I've already thought of one way to knock you all down. It's quite simple really, if I knock you down right now, I bet that happy family you boasted of, won't be feeling happy and as for strong, I don't see how they could possibly feel strong after seeing you beaten and knowing they didn't even save you."

Despite trying to hide it, Kushina's eyes widened in horror and Kinoshita saw and grinned darkly, "I knew you were still scared of me" he said smugly.

"It's not fear it's disgust" she retorted despite how fast her heart was really beating.

Tightening his grip on her even more, as if to show who was in control he glared at her and coldly said, "I may be a monster Kushina, but I'm not the worst of them, I don't relish in the feeling of hitting a women, that's why I wish your boyfriend had come instead."

After releasing her, she quickly stepped a good distance away from him before turning back around to look at him and sharply saying, "Kinoshita, you're still a monster and all monsters get slain!"

Driving back to Minato's house, and parking in the driveway, she unlocked the front door, and saw him sitting comfortably on the sofa, a warm smile directed her way when he saw her.

"Get what you needed?" he asked casually, thinking she'd just gone to the store.

Kushina didn't reply, she just took off her shoes and walked up to him, sitting down beside him and snuggling up in his arms. She felt exhausted, confronting Kinoshita had the tendency to do that, but she also felt good. Now all she wanted was the warmth and comfort of her boyfriends hugs, which she naturally received.

"Is Naruto in bed?" she murmured.

"Yes, so now I'm just watching stupid people, do stupid things on reality TV."

Kushina laughed lightly, "Yes well sometimes there's something amusing about that."

"Yeah" he replied but then his body tensed up and he lifted up her arm and worriedly said, "Why is your wrist so red?"

"It's nothing, I just..."

"Kushina, don't lie to me" he said tensely as he sat up, forcing her to sit up too.

"What happened?" he asked concernedly, his eyes worried, "Did someone grab onto you tightly?"

"You're not going to understand but please don't get mad, promise me" she said slowly.

"If someone hurt you, I can't promise that" Minato responded truthfully, "But you can't not tell me"

Kushina took a deep breath, then quietly mumbled, "Well... after the store I went to Kinoshita's house..."

Minato looked at her in disbelief and angrily said, "Are you insane? Why would you do that?"

Kushina placed her hand on top of his, then firmly said, "I'm sorry, it just happened, it wasn't planned. I was driving back from the store and I saw the house and then I just felt compelled by my anger to approach him and tell him off. There were still things I needed to get off my chest."

"You should have called me, if you needed to I would have stood on his doorstep once more with you."

"I know" she murmured "But like I said it wasn't planned and truthfully, I'm glad I was alone, I don't think I would've been able to get the proper closure I needed and been able to say everything I needed with you there."

"But he hurt you" Minato spluttered out angrily as he held up her wrist for proof. "He grabbed on to you, didn't he and held on tightly?"

Kushina nodded her head slowly, "When I was leaving he grabbed onto my wrist and brought me closer to him, but he didn't hurt me, I swear. He just wanted to make me feel threatened and to get the last word."

"Your wrist is a nasty red color, it looks like he hurt you to me" Minato replied tensely.

"I am fine, this is nothing" she said resolutely, pulling her arm away from Minato.

"It could have been worse" Minato responded firmly, "He could have really hurt you and I wouldn't have even known or been there to save you. He hit you once, he tried to hit you again and just because you're no longer scared of him, doesn't mean you should approach him by yourself and entice his anger."

"You're right, I'm sorry" Kushina said sincerely, "I guess I just felt like Kinoshita was always my problem and because of that I needed to be the one to set him straight one last time and truthfully I think maybe I was searching for a bit of closure, knowing that by tomorrow he'd finally be out of our lives."

Minato sighed, but then wrapped his arm around her, drawing her closer to him, "So how do you feel now, did you get what you needed?"

"I did" Kushina replied steadily, "I told him off good, I made it clear what I thought of him, and how unbreakable our family now was despite all his monstrous actions."

"Good" Minato replied as he kissed her on the top of her head. But then his voice got serious as he said, "But don't tell me, you're looking for closure from Bellamy too ... because then I might literally have to lock you in your room to keep you safe until the feeling passes."

"Of course not" Kushina replied adamantly, "I don't have a death wish"

Looking into her eyes intently, he quietly said, "Are you really okay though? I now how much energy Kinoshita can drain when you face him."

"I am, I feel good like I've conquered a beast or something… I am a bit tired though but just sitting here with you in your arms is already replenishing my energy."

"Good" Minato replied tenderly, as he smiled down at her softly. "And you're wrist?"

"It may feel a little tender but that's all"

Slowly lifting her wrist up to his mouth, he placed a gentle kiss on the inside of her wrist, and murmured "Maybe that will help"

Kushina looked up at him lovingly as she softly hummed, "It does".

Hope you liked this chapter please comment, I'm sorry it took a little while to get out than usual, but truthfully i'm going through some personal things right now and i'm not sure if i'll be able to get my chapters out as quickly anymore. I'll try though but it's a little hard to feel motivated at the moment, with everything I have going on.
