It had taken him a few months to arrive here in this kingdom, the Southern Isles, but he managed to do it just before the wedding. Meeting with the Prince before the wedding was the key point to his plans, knowing after Elsa and Hans married, it would be too late. The ship set sail from Nuriah, thanks to his friend Phoebus, and he traveled the seas until this morning when the ship finally landed on the sandy beaches of the Southern Isles.
"Ugh this place is unbearably hot..." Henrik spat, stepping off the ship and onto the dock.
"Your majesty shall we unload?" A crew member asked. His eyes were like the sun, golden and bright.
Henrik smiled, shaking his head. "No..this won't take long." He boasted, waving his hand. "Send the slave down to the cell...make sure he knows it needs to be in top condition for our guest." He added, watching as the golden eyed man bowed his head and went to retrieve the very crew member. The slave. "Although in this short time I am here..I will truly melt by this sufferable heat!" He snapped, wiping his brow.
Calon Coast was a kingdom that was hot for half of the year, but nothing quite like this. This kingdom made the air feel thick, tropical even, making his stomach churn as he walked down the dock. There at the end of said dock was the Prince, Hans, waiting for the man happily. He had sent his message out quickly before he set out, wanting to make sure the man knew of his arrival before he stepped foot into the castle. It was clear to Henrik then that the Prince must have received said letter, seeing as he was prepared with not only his appearance but also with a horse for him.
"Prince Henrik!" Hans called, delighted, as the men approached each other. Hans brought his hand out, clearly trying to woo the man already in his confidence. Henrik's lips curved into a small smile, bringing his hand forward and shaking it as lightly as he could. He had no patience for this man, the man who was taking his Elsa away from him. "I hope your travels were well?" Hans asked, his face falling as Henrik waved him off.
"Quite fine, now...about our meeting." Henrik reminded, his eyebrow rising in slight annoyance.
Hans immediately complied, offering his best horse to Henrik as the two came to the castle. As they did, Henrik tore down everything the man had to show him. From his people to the layout of the castle, Henrik wasn't pleased with anything he had to offer. Unless it was Elsa. "I can't understand why anyone would want to live in a place like this...it's so toxic feeling." Henrik rudely stated, clearly making Hans uncomfortable as the man looked up at his castle. His eyes were judging and harsh, seeing not a single aspect of good in this place. "Elsa deserves so much better...she deserves Calon Coast...she deserves me." Henrik thought, practically wanting to snap Hans in half as he led him inside.
They were taken to a meeting room, secluded, on the other side of the castle as Henrik would have it. Hans offered fetching Elsa, whom the Prince claimed he knew in his letter, only to be denied quickly. "Oh I assumed you would want to...at the very least say hello" Hans started to say, getting cut off by the man.
"I am here for business Prince Hans..nothing more.." Henrik stated, pulling out a long piece of paper and setting it down on the table. It was backwards, the print being placed downward as Hans eyes greedily tried to see what they stated. Henrik grimaced at this, sighing at the man's impatience. The two were silent as the second paper was revealed, facing down as well, and the Prince placed a pen down for Hans to use later. Knowing he was going to sign it regardless.
As Henrik placed both his arms across his chest, Hans glanced at his limb, holding his eyes to the injury much longer than Henrik wanted him to. "Damned Prince..." Henrik's mind raged, coughing loudly to get his attention. He wasn't sure if this was the first time Hans had noticed this aspect of him but it was certainly going to be his last.
"Lets get to the point...your dear Elsa, she belongs to me." Henrik stated, trying to hide his smug look.
Hans' eyes looked confused and his mouth fell open as Henrik waited for him to speak. It was clearly alarming news, one that Henrik expected. "Excuse me..." he finally choked out. "Elsa is not a property..she is a..." he trailed off as the man flipped over the first paper.
"However you are wrong...she is a property...mine now" Henrik stated, bringing his finger down upon the page. At the bottom of it was a signature, Anna's signature, bold and clear. Looking it over, the papers were about a position as a knight, nothing mentioning of Elsa at all.
"I don't understand..." Hans admitted, feeling sweat fall from his face.
"Anna sold me Elsa for a title as a knight." Henrik said with a sad sigh, watching in delight as Hans' eyes went to horror. "The night I sent a warrant out for her arrest was when she cheated me, stealing back Elsa in the dark of the night and taking my hand with them!" he snapped, showing the missing limb he now possessed. Hans' eyes fell to the limb and then to Henrik, unsure what to say.
"But Elsa...she would have told me.." Hans spat out, still confused.
"I am sure she doesn't even know.."
"But.."
"Anna is a liar...a thief and a sorcerer when it comes to convincing, I am sure she confused and even convinced Elsa that she was the hero of this tale." Henrik laughed out, leaning back in his chair. "Regardless of the situation Prince Hans...I am here to collect Elsa, she needs to return home with me..." Henrik stated, his lips trying to conceal a smile as he saw the anger in Hans face. Just as planned.
"But Elsa doesn't belong to Anna!" he snapped, "Elsa belongs to her parents...who gave her to me!"
Henrik sighed loudly and folded his legs, "On the contrary Hans, Anna was Elsa's guardian...she did belong to her at the time of the signing..her parents gave up their right over her when they sent the girl off from Adlai to find you." he admitted, realization hitting Hans like a ton of bricks. "I understand this may be shocking..but I cannot leave today without my...future wife and because of my legal documentations...I can have you arrested if you keep her from me." Henrik continued, "So please bring her to me immediately."
Hans hung his head in silence, his emotions pouring out before him. "There has to be another way..." he begged, pain filling him as Henrik shook his head. "But I love her, she is my only way out of this miserable..." he paused, holding back the feelings he was just about to show.
He didn't love Elsa, not truthfully, but he loved the idea of leaving his family finally. He loved the idea of escaping this prison and being happy in a new land, away from the mess in Southern Isles. Away from everything. Elsa was his only choice, his only way of getting out of here. He needed Henrik to understand that, to know what he was tearing away from him.
"Please...I can give you anything, just not her..." Hans pleaded.
Henrik remained silent for a moment, pretending as if he was debating the man's words. "Exactly as planned..." Henrik thought, casting his eyes down to the second paper. "Fine, I will allow you to keep Elsa...but in return I want you to hand over Anna of Arendelle camp." Henrik got right to the point, disgusting in how the man's eyes went to shock once more. "She is a criminal in our kingdom...but she is safe here in yours, I am unable to lay a finger on her while she lives under your rules and is a resident of Adlai...if you sign.." he smiled, holding the paper out for the man, "Then I will leave, with Anna, and leave you both alone in your happy marriage."
"But..." Hans trailed off, thinking the words over.
With Anna gone he could finally have Elsa all to himself, never worrying about the knight earning Elsa's attention over him. Anna was crazy, unpredictable and holding onto Elsa more than he ever could these past few months. Maybe if Anna was gone, Elsa would finally submit to him as well? Another point to the argument was Elsa's parents, their instructions to keep Anna safe as well. If they found out Hans was behind her capture, it could ruin his chances with not only them but also Elsa. As if Henrik had glanced inside Han's brain, he smiled kindly and reached his hand forward towards Hans.
"This meeting...as well as Anna's capture will remain between us, I nor my men will tell a soul about her whereabouts to Adlai nor to Miss Elsa..." he explained, eyeing Hans carefully. "All Elsa needs to know is that Anna left on another adventure...to a far away land." as he said the last part, millions of options tore into Hans mind. How he could lie to Elsa, how she would believe Anna had left her for good. She would be completely open for him, especially since her closest companion fled the kingdom.
"Will she be safe..?" Hans questioned. Henrik nodded, offering little detail beyond that, hardly relieving Hans' indecisiveness.
"Anna is a criminal...she cut off my hand..and whose to say she won't do the same for you?" Henrik questioned, "Or even Elsa...?"
Hans nodded his head, agreeing with the words. Regardless of how Elsa should feel about it, he didn't have any other choice. It was Elsa or Anna who would be leaving and he couldn't allow his dreams to fall because of one idiot's decision.
Taking in a final breath the man nodded, determination on his features. "Fine...I agree...but you must promise to keep her safe.." Hans stated, going to sign over the agreement. Henrik smiled evilly, watching as the man finished off his name and handed the paper back to him. "When will you take the girl..?" Hans asked, looking at the time. It was afternoon and he had a meeting with his Father to attend to soon. Knowing Elsa she was probably with the little criminal right now.
Henrik snapped his fingers and a pair of guards came through the door, saluting him and waiting for his orders.
"Tonight."
"Ah..damn.."
Anna shot her head up, eyes widening at the girl before her, wiping at the liquid heat that fell from her lips. There they were, on Elsa's guest bed, when the girl whispered out the word. It would have been typical for Anna to speak such language, but for Elsa it was something completely foreign to both of them.
Anna was sure with how they were now, in this compromising position, that Elsa allowed herself to fall more into the pleasure than either of them were expecting. Elsa had her dress up, undergarments down, and Anna's face pressed into her womanhood as she took her relentlessly. The girl built her up, higher and higher, as Elsa stifled her noises by biting upon her own fingers. Anna had just finished her off, with the help of a few pressed fingers, when the girl spat out the words suddenly in her bliss.
"Did you..?" Anna breathed, coming closer as she kissed the top of the girls head. Sweat had formed there, coming off when Anna's lips grazed her skin.
"No...I did not.."
"Elsa yes you did!"
"I did not use such foul language as you...!" she said, forming a ridiculous pout.
"Whatever you say.." Anna smiled, sending a trail of kisses down from her forehead to her cheek and ultimately latching onto her neck. Elsa's hand came up and pressed against her heart and for a moment Anna felt the snowflake cool against her skin, reminding her of the new feature to her body. She hadn't brought it to Elsa's attention yet, adding another thing to a list of things she needed to tell her, truthfully for her own good. Every day Elsa's powers were getting a bit stronger, better and even more controlled. If Anna displayed the mark on her chest, revealing the pained experience she had in accessing it, Elsa could start to regress.
"Anna.." Elsa's voice tore through her mind like a saw and before she knew it, she was staring into a pair of beautiful blue eyes. "You're thinking.." Elsa stated, watching as Anna's eyes came back to the world. "Something bothering you?", the girl fixed her dress as Anna slowly came to the side of her, laying next to her.
Anna wanted to tell her about the snowflake she had above her heart, giving her strange feelings and sensations in her body. But there were more important topics to discuss, such as the wedding as well as Hans. The topic was a sore one, one that Anna had been working on talking with her about ever since Keith suggested they should. But every perfect moment Anna got with Elsa, she chickened out and she found herself avoiding the topic more and more. She couldn't allow another day to pass, another kiss or even another touch, not knowing if Elsa would truly be hers.
Tonight was the night.
"Elsa..." Anna started to say, alarming the girl immediately as she noticed the severity of her voice. "I want to know..what we're doing, am I...are we going to be together forever?" Anna asked, her heart sinking as Elsa lifted herself up from the bed and turned away from her. Was her words too much, too quick? Questions after questions came to her mind then and Anna shook them away, practically beating her head in the moment. "I want to be with you Elsa," she admitted, "I don't want to share you anymore.."
"You don't share me Anna..I am yours."
"Not completely...you are still his fiancé..."
"Anna.."
"Elsa I love you and I want to know.."
"Anna please not now..."
"Elsa.." Anna had gotten up and walked around the other side of the bed, kneeling before the girl as she took her hands in her own. Elsa's mouth fell open and she looked like she was in pain, knowing before she spoke what Anna was asking of her but not being able to come to terms with going through with it. "Elsa...I want to be with you, I want to go to Hans and cancel this wedding...to tell your parents my feelings for you and ask them for their approval of me being in your life..." Anna trailed off and Elsa shook her head no, the small movement literally killing Anna inside. "I know it is a lot to ask of you...but I am asking you to make a choice..between me and Hans..Elsa.".
The room fell silent and Anna brought a hand to her chest, the snowflake was glowing very softly. Elsa was feeling conflicted.
"Anna..how can I...?" Elsa breathed out, hardly showing Anna that she'd consider her love over Hans. "I love you..but my kingdom and my family..." she stopped herself. They were beyond that, beyond the chains of commitment and well past the idea that Elsa was doing this for her Kingdom or her Family. "I need time...Anna, I cannot...I don't want to leave him and I definitely don't want to stop what I have with you." she breathed out, the words hitting Anna much harder than she expected.
Anna wanted to immediately scream out then, beg the girl to make a decision. She had months, several months to decide between her and Hans. The girl had Anna's heart, her body and every bit of support from her that she could muster in that moment. But it wasn't enough, not in this moment, possibly not ever. Keith had given her good advice to ask, but now that it was all said and done with, Anna had a hard time keeping herself from crying with the acceptance she needed to face.
"Alright.." Anna breathed, standing before the girl.
The Princess looked frightened while she watched her stand, especially as Anna turned and went to kiss her. The kiss was soft, barely there and Anna felt as if she was holding herself back from the girl then. As she pulled away she could tell Elsa was thinking the same thing of her. "I will wait for you Elsa.." Anna smiled, though there was sadness in her eyes. With that she turned and walked towards the door. She needed to get out of that room, to get away from the situation before her, to get away from Elsa in general in that moment.
"You're leaving..." she heard the Princess breathe out, defeat in her voice.
Anna was leaving, hand on the doorknob, but not in the way Elsa made it sound. She turned and saw the girl sitting there on the bed, eyes burning into Anna in desperation. Her hand was lifted slightly and Anna nearly fell to her knees as she saw the girl reach for her and the snowflake cooled across her chest. She was worried, scared, that Anna was going to leave for good. Leaving her forever.
"Never..." the words hit both of them heavily in the silent room. "I will never leave you Elsa.." Anna stated, the promise that came with it filling Elsa's heart as she smiled. "I just need to take a walk...I need some air...I'll be back Elsa.." Anna said, blowing her a kiss as she walked through the door and shut it tight behind her.
The image of Elsa's smile, tears gracing her eyes, filled her view before she walked down the dark hallway. She already wanted to run back into the room and into her arms, kissing away the tears the girl was forming, hold her as she whispered her love into her skin. But she pushed past those feelings, walking down the hall in a steady pace. She was intent on getting outside, throwing a sword around or doing something to burn off this pent up anger she was feeling. And she had no intention of leaving Elsa for long.
But as she walked through the castle, she noticed a deadness to the hallways that was almost alarming. Typically there were several guards, servants or even maids walking about at this hour. "|s everyone off for the evening?" Anna laughed, practically skipping down the steps as she tried to hurry outside. Not only was it unusual but it was also something Anna hadn't really seen of a castle since Calon Coast, the connections shaking her.
She opened up the back door of the castle, stepping out onto the grass; Anna turned and audibly gasped at the sight she saw. Every castle staff, both indoor and out, were here on the back lawn. "Wait...what?" Anna questioned, watching the people as they eagerly sat amongst each other and enjoyed what seemed to be a meal together. Light music was playing and Anna could see some sparring among the men again, the typical outdoor guards, and she even smirked as she saw some dancing happily amongst each other.
As Anna stared on she hardly noticed her short friend walking behind her, nor did she feel the small tap on her shoulder, completely gone from this world as she watched the scene play out before her.
"Um...Miss!" Keith laughed, nearly tearing Anna out of her skin as she realized him for the first time. "Oh, sorry..ha ha I thought you noticed me!" Keith laughed out again, a small smile forming over his lips as Anna placed a hand across her chest. Stilling the beating heart behind it.
"Keith what is going on here...why isn't anyone working?" Anna asked, hardly catching her breath.
The man shrugged his shoulders, "Prince Hans decided to give everyone a break this evening...so we all came out back and decided to make a night of it!". The words seemed a little unconvincing, as if Keith himself couldn't believe that the entire castle staff wasn't supposed to be working that evening. But there they were, enjoying themselves and Keith was right along with them. Although Anna was sure he'd much rather enjoy guarding the castle. "I suppose Prince Hans is feeling generous today..."
"I guess so..." Anna said, sighing heavily as she stared on at the party. The party reminded her of Nuriah, of Elsa's and her first dance that eventually led them to their first kiss the next day. The memory weighed heavily on her mind and it wasn't till Keith poked her into her side, noticing her quietness, did she snap from the memories.
"Let me see if I can guess..perhaps is your mind clouded with the Princess?" Keith asked, showing her a knowing smile.
"Unfortunately.."
"Unfortunately?"
Anna explained everything then. How she had opened her heart for Elsa and how the girl still refused to pick neither her nor Hans. When she was done Keith didn't look annoyed, or sad, or even happy for the story she had just told him. He merely looked as if he understood; a trait Anna loved about him.
"I don't really know what else to do...I feel like I'm gonna get my answer on their wedding day.." Anna admitted bitterly, "Of course..by that point I'm sure I'll realize she isn't going to choose me.".
Keith shook his head, confusing Anna for a moment. "Have faith Anna.." he breathed, "That's how I see it...I mean if you have faith...in yourself, in Elsa and your relationship together..then I can't see anything from stopping you two being together."
"Except Hans...and the marriage" Anna added, earning a look from Keith.
"You could always ask her to marry you instead?" Keith offered, his words sounding more like a joke than an actual option. Still the words fell through the both of them, causing Anna's heart to quicken and her body began to shake. "You look as though I've told you to kill Hans.." Keith laughed, his face flushing a deep red. "Is it that awful to think of marriage to a woman you love?"
"It's not..but it's also impossible."
"A royal and a Knight..?" Keith shrugged his shoulders, "It isn't uncommon."
"A misfit and a royal.." Anna laughed, giving him a sad smile. Nearly forgetting that asides her title, her home in Arendelle, she was a Princess.
"Titles are hardly the concern here Miss..you and I both know this..as well as Elsa" Keith stated, folding his arms. "You and the Princess..are in love and quite honestly..I think you should march up to her right now and ask her to marry you.." he said confidently, although his voice shook. "And well...if anyone had a bad thing to say about it..well..I would fight a hundred men if it meant you could marry the one you were meant to be with."
Anna shook her head, unable to hold back her smile. "You are hopeless Keith.."
"As are you Miss..?" He teased, feeling rather bold.
"Then I suppose I should ask her to marry me.." Anna laughed, although her heart was in the words.
Keith pointed a finger back then, directing towards the castle. "What's stopping you?"
Anna's throat tightened and she followed her eyes up to the top of the castle, wondering if Elsa was looking back at her from one of the windows. "That is the question Keith...what is stopping us?" she laughed, pressing her hand to her heart. Her body feeling the same conflicted feelings Elsa was feeling then. Conflicted feelings for them and their love.
The man looked as if he wanted to say more but his eyes trailed off towards the back door, his face blushing slightly. Anna followed his line of vision and saw the very man they were speaking of standing right across from them. His face was determined; his hands clenched tightly, and with each step he took towards the two Anna could have sworn he was stamping his feet against the grass. Something was wrong, whether with Elsa or just a personal issue with the man, Anna could tell something bad had happened.
"Miss Anna...please come with me.." Hans stated, turning to prove his point.
Anna glared at him as he went; immediately wanting to do the exact opposite. But then she recalled Elsa, the love of her life was waiting for her upstairs. She couldn't afford to fight with this man. If he wanted to speak with her, coming forward about Elsa and her feelings, then she would work the meeting out as fast as she could and get back to Elsa all in one evening.
"Coming.." Anna sighed and walked after him. Footsteps sounded behind her and the girl turned to see Keith following, a look of confusion and worry lined his face. "He's always thinking the worst out of situations.." Anna thought, thinking the man was only following so that he could stop the two of them from possibly killing each other. It was a good move on his behalf, especially with Elsa on the line.
The three walked down the hallway slowly, much to Anna's distaste, as Hans led them to the front of the castle. Once again Anna felt uneasiness as she walked the hallways with absolutely no staff running it. The walls seemed darker, the halls more menacing and she could literally feel Keith inching closer to the girl in fear.
"Dreary night in the castle your Majesty..." Keith laughed, his voice echoing as the three walked.
Hans remained silent, causing Anna to roll her eyes. She understood if Hans had some hard feelings with her, but Keith did everything for the man, making her body shake with anger as the Prince stopped just before the front doors.
"Is there a reason you're being a royal ass tonight Hans, or did you bruise your pride again?" Anna asked, rather boldly as Keith stared shocked at her.
Still Hans remained silent, hands coming up to grip the front door handles tightly. They stayed like that for some time, Anna and Keith standing there as they watched Hans standing before the door. A needle could have dropped and it would have rang louder than the three of them were being in that moment, making Anna shift uncomfortably. But then slowly, Hans pulled the door handles down and began opening the door.
Anna flinched as the moonlight flew into the castle, practically cloaking the men outside as they walked in. At first Anna didn't recognize a single one of them, their armor nor their attire as they marched around her and Keith, aiming their weapons at them. But as she turned to face the door and her eyes took in the figure that stood next to Hans, hand placed firmly on his shoulder as he patted it approvingly, her brain exploded and realization fell across her features.
"Anna of Arendelle Camp..." Henrik stated loudly, raising his hand in the air. "I expect you to come willingly or my men will take you by force."
"Henrik, you son of a..." Anna started to say, barely dodging as a sword slammed down just before her foot.
"Now then Anna..lets not be a pain, you have been caught in your crimes and you must be punished.." Henrik smiled, waving his hand again.
Anna watched as the men stepped closer, trying to grab ahold of her. She reached down for her sword and nearly gasped as she felt air. Looking down her face shone of complete horror as she recalled Elsa playfully taking her weapons away from her before shoving her down onto her bed, the insolence being her undoing.
"Fuck!" Anna snapped, dodging to the side as a guard swung at her again. There were too many of them and, even with Keith, Anna would have to fight off at least five men who were heavily armed. While she only had her bare hands.
"Seize her!" Henrik snapped.
A pain shot down Anna's neck soon after the order and she fell to the ground, clenching her fists tightly. Someone had gotten her from behind, hitting her against the head while she was distracted.
"Stop!" Keith yelled, going to her side as he drew his own blade. The men stepped back a moment, watching the tiny man as his arms quaked uncontrollably. "I will not allow you to take my friend from here...she is innocent...just a knight protecting her friend from danger!" Keith said, biting his lip as Henrik laughed, waving his hand once more.
A second later a guard slammed his weapon against Keith's, effectively knocking it out of his hand. "Weakling!" the guard yelled, bringing his foot up and kicking Keith aside. The man fell to the ground, clutching his gut as the men crowded around Anna.
"No...Anna!" Keith choked out, rising as quickly as he could. "Leave her alone!" he snarled, throwing his arms around a guard in a mad attempt to save her. The guard wiggled and swung the tiny man around, trying to release him from his neck. Keith held on as tightly as he could, kicking and hitting him any chance he got. But the man was strong and suddenly Keith found himself being thrown off and onto the floor again, slamming him onto his side. "Augh!" he cried out, clutching his arm as pain shot down it.
"You pathetic little man!" the guard, whom Keith had tried to choke, screamed.
Keith stumbled back as the guard raised his sword against him, ready to slice him to pieces. He felt his skin crawl and his stomach toss and turn as he did, knowing he had no sword to block him from the blow. The man was going to kill him right in front of the friend he was trying to protect. But as the guard started to attack, a being stepped between the two in an effort to stop him. Shoving the guard back with all his might.
"Do not touch him.." Hans spat, giving him with a furious glare. At first the guard nearly raised his sword against the Prince as well, but halted himself, realizing who he was. "You have the criminal..now get out.." he snapped, holding his hand out protectively against Keith.
The guard bowed, quickly going back towards Anna as the rest of the guards hoisted her up by the arms. Keith watched on in horror, trying to stand, as they dragged her towards the door.
"Please stop...she is...my friend!" Keith cried, "Prince Hans...please you can save her..please!"
But Hans ignored his cries, walking over to Henrik by the door as the guards stopped to show him his new prisoner. Her body limp in their arms, sending a satisfied look upon Prince Henrik's face. Keith flinched as he saw Henrik grab Anna by the hair and yank her head up to look into Hans eyes, her eyes were disoriented from the headshot and she weakly whispered out words that were only audible between the two. Hans eyes widened and he truly looked ill in that moment as he took in Anna's miserable form.
"I am sorry Anna...you have given me.." Hans managed to spit out, "You've given me no choice..". With that he bent over and tore something from the girl's neck, eyes clenching tightly shut as the girl tried to fight and lash out.
Keith cried out as the men walked away with Anna in their custody while Prince Henrik snickered lightly next to them, his own Prince walking back into the castle and shutting the door. The moment passed and if it were not that Keith could feel this terrible pain in his stomach as well as his arm, he wouldn't have believe the situation to be true.
Anna was gone, taken custody by Calon Coast.
"Anna...she's...she.." Keith cried, trying to stand. His left arm was terribly sore, making it difficult to move, and Keith prayed it wasn't broken. "She's going to...you.." he felt tears grace his eyes as Hans glared at him, his emotions for the girl now seemingly gone.
The Prince took a few steps, throwing the object he had taken from Anna to Keith. The noble guard caught it with his right hand, curiosity as well as anger was apparent on his face as he tried to hold back tears. But as he stared down at the object the tears came willingly and he turned the piece over in his hands. "The snowflake of Adlai...?" Keith asked, sighing as Hans nodded. "And..." he paused; unsure what the seashells were as they were looped with the necklace. Whatever it was must have been of importance to the girl, knowing Anna didn't hold onto just anything.
Hans breathed in deeply, trying to compose himself. "If anyone asks...that includes Elsa, Anna fled the castle." Hans demanded, ignoring the way Keith's face filled with shock. "She is a criminal Keith...I am not sorry for putting her in her place." Hans stated, walking away from the man. "Please tend to your injuries..I cannot have my personal guard off duty.."
Keith ignored his concerns, for his injuries, pushing for the main topic. "But she is more than just a criminal...she was my friend and rumors speak that she was once yours too at some time Prince Hans.." Keith whispered out, praying the words reached the man as he left through a set of doors. Whether or not they did, Keith wasn't sure, but the Prince hesitated for a short moment and turned back to look at him. The guard locked eyes with the Prince, watching as a tear fell past his face, before he slammed the doors shut and left him in his misery.
A/N- Hey guys! So goodness..this was quite the chapter. I'm (nervous) excited to reveal what happens next!
El-sana- I see you're point! But the thing is I made Hans too good a guy because, for this story, Hans is not the bad guy. Henrik is. Hans is just a character, someone who is apparently 'hopeless' for both girls. Anna made it quite clear as a young child that she didn't want to marry him to both families, neither cared for her opinions (as well as Hans). If Hans is being used or manipulated by anyone in this fanfic it's his Father, who pushes for this regardless of his son's own desires. I do feel for Hans, I really do, but he is flawed as well…not as 'good' of a guy as he's been towards Elsa. First being he doesn't love her but only wants to leave his terrible life (but still keeping his title) so in technical..he is being manipulative and deceitful as well. He knows she's uncomfortable, knows she doesn't enjoy his advances yet he doesn't care…he thinks that since he's her husband that he should be able to do things with her. Verging on the way that Henrik thinks.
It's honestly like Hans is one of those 'nice guys', thinking that just because he is sweet and kind to a girl that she now owes him something. I very much thought of the 'friendzoned guy crap' when I wrote his character.
BUT, that being said, Anna and Elsa are not being truthful with him…or more Elsa isn't being truthful with him. She isn't meaning to hurt him and honestly she feel's bad about it..but she's conflicted with duty and her kingdom.
Thank you for pointing that out, I enjoyed reviewing my work and seeing things from that point (Hans being a tragic hero!) 8D
RR- I literally sat here for a good ten minutes trying to figure out what you meant. THANK YOU! These grammatical errors always get me (sigh)
Thanks guys for such great feedback! I really enjoyed seeing your view on things and hope you enjoyed the chapter! -TP
