Chapter 37 – Eradicate! The Circus!

"I see so you've managed to get yourself an Eradicator Deck by trading away your Liberator Deck, lucky trade. You're lucky to have found someone so stupid. I figured out why your deck was horrible, it needed a break ride. So it wasn't you it was the deck." Nicole smiles talking William.

"Then since I have a break ride in this deck, that means I'm set?" William looks through his deck that he completed with leftover units from gathering Gold Paladin units.

The receptionist comes up to William. "Well since I'm off my duty for now, why don't we fight? Tyler will be looking after the shop while we're fighting."

"Sure." William looks at the receptionist as they both move to a table and put on the headgear. Nicole follows.

After setting up their field they both call out. "Stand Up, Vanguard!" Flipping over the vanguard, the battle ensues.

"Smiling Presenter! [Grade 0, 5000 Power, 10000 Shield] I'll take the first turn." Damion calls out.

"Ambush Dragon Eradicator, Linchu! [Grade 0, 5000 Power, 10000 Shield] Very well then."

"Pale Moon deck, that's interesting." Nicole begins analysing the deck.

"Draw, ride! Midnight Bunny! [Grade 1, 7000 Power, 5000 Shield] I move Smiling Presenter to the back row and end my turn."

[Grade 1, 7000 Power, 5000 Shield] I activate the skill of Castor, if my opponent has two or less rear-guards I can discard a card from my hand to draw a card from my deck. I discard Dragon Mage and draw a card." William looks at the grade 3 he just drew. "Yes, I'm no longer grade stuck. And it's a break ride."

"Interesting, so will you start attacking?" Damion looks at Castor.

"Rising Phoenix attacks your vanguard boosted by Linchu!" William rests his vanguard column.

"If I guard this one, and he gets a trigger it'd be the same thing, however if I get a trigger and he doesn't, this will make me save hand." Damion after staring at his hand and the damage zones lets down his hand to declares "No guard." [Rising Phoenix (5000 Power) + Ambush Eradicator, Linchu (5000 Power) = 10000 Power → Midnight Bunny (7000 Power)]

Damage Check: Nightmare Summoner, Raqiel [No Trigger] "Aww… damn no trigger." Damion grins scratching the back of his head.

Nicole leans over to William and whispers to him. "He has a horrible deck, his boss is an old grade 3 vanguard and it's 10000 Power, you can beat this idiot easily."

William just stares plainly at Nicole's statement and nods slowly. "Castor attacks your vanguard."

"Let's see, I don't know his deck. However, if I were to guess it would probably be Dragonic Descendant. Especially if Rising Phoenix is there. If it is Descendant, I should guard now." Damion holds out Popcorn Boy. [Ceremonial Bonfire, Castor (7000 Power) → Midnight Bunny (7000 Power) + Popcorn Boy (10000 Shield) = 17000 Power]

"Then I'll soul charge…"

Damion lets a smile slip. Raqiel attacks your vanguard. The skill of Raqiel activates when he attacks a vanguard when I have four or more damage he gets 5000 Power."

"I won't guard that." [Nightmare Summoner, Raqiel (10000 + 5000 = 15000 Power) → Supreme Army Eradicator, Zuitan (9000 Power)]

"Twin Drive Check, Sky High Walker [Stand Trigger], I stand Hungry Clown and give the power to Mirror Demon. Second check, Skull Juggler [No Trigger]. I seriously have to thank Tyler for teaching me how to use these Stand Triggers." Damion waves Sky High Walker in front of William.

"Mirror Demon attacks your rear-guard Zuitan then, when the attack hits I can call a unit from my soul. Plus you lose your Zuitan. If you guard it, then I have another attack aiming right at it."

"Even if I guard this attack, I won't be able to guard the next attack… This isn't a good spot for me to be in. I don't have another grade 2 or 3 in my hand to call to the rear-guard." William retires Zuitan. [Mirror Demon (8000 + 5000 = 13000 Power) → Supreme Army Eradicator, Zuitan (9000 Power)]

"I activate Mirror Demon's skill to call Alice to the back row. [Grade 3, 10000 Power] I end my turn." Damion looks at his damage zone. "Sadly, I'm at four damage and my opponent is at 3, though my field is set."

"I guard that with Cracker Musician." [Eradicator, Vowing Sword Dragon (13000 Power) → Nightmare Summoner, Raqiel (10000 Power) + Cracker Musician (10000 Shield) = 20000 Power]

I call Midnight Bunny to the rear-guard behind my vanguard. Hungry Clown attacks your vanguard with a boost from Midnight Bunny!" "I have no 10000 Shields in my hand…" William worries himself.

Nicole looks behind William to see his hand. Damion sighs "Go ahead and help him. I'd like to know what you'd do in this situation as well."

"Holy crap, he pushed himself into a corner like this. 2 Perfect Guards and the cards he drive checked." Nicole bites her lip also struggling. "It seems he was doing everything appropriately as well… Normally, someone would just let this attack through and guard the second attack but we have to think through this here…"

"If you let this attack through, I can call Purple Trapezist from my soul and fix up my lane again for another attack. If you guard this attack, you'll have to let my vanguard through and then I could use Midnight Bunny's skill to fix up the column as well."

"However, it'd be a the price of a rear-guard. Guard this with the card on your left and discard the card on the furthest right." Nicole says.

"Alright then…" William places the cards in his guard zone and drop zone. "Perfect Guard! I guard with Guld and discard Rising Phoenix!" [Hungry Clown (9000 Power) + Midnight Bunny (7000 Power) = 16000 Power → Eradicator, Vowing Sword Dragon (11000 Power) + Eradicator Wyvern Guard, Guld (Cannot be Hit) = Cannot be Hit]

"My vanguard attacks your vanguard boosted by Midnight Bunny, Limit Break!"

"Don't guard it." Nicole calls out as William follows.

"Well, even if I were to guard this attack and he did get a critical trigger. I'd lose. I have a perfect guard, antoher Raqiel, a Sky High Walker and 2 Hungry Clowns to defend my vanguard. So when he first attacks and I guard with the Hungry Clowns and Sky High Walker if he gets a critical trigger I'd lose because he can give it to Zuitan if he doesn't give it to his vanguard. Though if I do guard he'll be left with 2 cards left in his hand… However, at the cost of my formation and all the cards that are left in my hand." Damion continues wondering.

"Hey, are you done yet? Hurry up and decide!" Nicole calls out.

"Hey, I gave you time. You could give some back… I guard that with Sky High Walker! I intercept with Hungry Clown and guard with Hungry Clown!" [Eradicator, Dragonic Descendant (11000 + 10000 = 21000 Power) → Nightmare Summoner, Raqiel (10000 Power) + Sky High Walkre (10000 Shield) + Hungry Clown (5000 Shield) + Hungry Clown (5000 Shield) = 30000 Power]

"Twin Drive Check. First Check, Fiendish Sword Eradicator, Cho-Ou [No Trigger], Sacred Spear Eradicator, Pollux [Critical Trigger] all effects go to my vanguard. LIMIT BREAK! Counterblast, I discard all the cards in my hand and my vanguard gets another critical. My vanguard attacks your vanguard again!"

"Damn it… he gets another critical trigger, as to be expected…" Damion looks at his empty hand.

"Zuitan attacks your vanguard boosted by Castor!" William rests his last lane to finish the game.

Nicole says again to William. "So yeah, keep that deck. You can win much more often with this deck."

William just stares blankly at the table. His mouth twitches, as he continues to try and control it. Until a small smirk is let out of his face. "I can win…"

The current commander of "Narukami" that commands over all the Eradicators. It is a ferocious general that is equipped with both the spirit and intimidating sense of a middle age warrior and the overwhelming presence that a mere general could not have attained in his entire life. Because it wields one of the "Sword of Apocalypse", a pair of swords that is the treasure of the Empire, the current Emperor has strong faith in its strength. As if to respond to that faith, it easily bundles together the Eradicators, who are said to be tough nuts to crack that don't answer to anyone but pledged loyalty to the Emperor and the Empire. The Über Dragon that has stocked approximately every power it can obtain, it rules with the mighty power it obtained, leads with its overwhelming presence, and finally even got its hand onto ascendancy. The new march of lightning and thunder, will begin now...

Who are the "Eradicators"?

A Special Force consisted of those who are especially loyal and faithful to the Dragon Empire, chosen from the ranks of the "Narukami" clan, one of the two major Military Wings of the Empire. As what the title literally means, the aim of the force is to "Eradicate" anyone who dares make an enemy out of the Empire. All are subjected to a special training so that they can make ruthless choices during their mission, no matter how peaceful one acts when they're off duty. In addition, only the upper echelons and those belonging to the "Eradicators" know who are appointed to bear the title of "Eradicator."
