Chapter 38

"Kristen!" Rin yelled as she hopped up and ran over to the group.

"Rin. It's good to see you again." Kristen said in a small voice. Despite her being so quiet everyone's attention was drawn to her.

"Kristen. We were so worried about you. Where have you been?" Sango asked walking up to the group along with Kagome, Shippo, and Jaken.

"Nowhere. Just school." she answered smiling at their concern. 'They act just like that girl did earlier.' she thought as she glanced over at Lily, who looked like she was asleep.

"Rin was so worried. You fell asleep and wouldn't wake up for so long."

"Is that why I was in that house?"

"Yeah. That was my home. I was going to ask my mother what to do. But when i came back you were gone. Do you know how furious I was" 'Shit' "At Inuyasha?" Kagome said as she turned to Inuyasha. 'Oh good not at me.' Kristen thought.

"How'd that happen anyway?" She said glaring at dog-boy.

"Oh. I remember. That was the day I met Fox."

"Who?" Shippo asked from Kagome's shoulder.

"Him" She pointed to said person. "And the guy next to him is Wolf. I've been staying with Fox since I left."

"What?" Wolf said. "I thought you said you guys weren't dating." he said as he turned toward Fox. As he said this Fox found a nearby tree very interesting.

"We're not."

"But you're living together."

"..."

"Wolf and Fox?" Kagome said catching their attention. "Are those your real names?"

"Of course not." They said at the same time.

"Then what are they?"

"I'm Kasca."

"And I'm Sako."

"Why does she call you by those names?" Shippo asked.

"We have no clue." Kasca said.

As their conversation went on Sesshomaru was lost in thought he had yet to notice any of the newcomers except Lily and Puss. But that was only because he could almost clearly hear the music coming from her beats.

Kristen slowly made her way over to him. He didn't notice her until she was two feet away from his side. "Flu~ffy?" She said in a soft sing-song voice.

'When the hell did she get back?' He thought as he just stared at her having completely missed what she said.

"Fluffy please?" she asked again. 'Whaa?' His brain was moving really slow. After thinking about his lost friend 24/7 a new topic really left him slow to react. It finally sunk in when she asked again. "Fluffy pretty please?" she said pointing to it. Her voice having lost its playfulness and taken an irritated tone.

'Oh' He handed it to her and went back to his thoughts. Jaken having been watching the entire time walked over to the girl who settled herself on a nearby tree. "You have him wrapped around your finger don't you?"

"What are you talking about, monsieur?" Kristen asked.

"What did you just call me?" Jaken said confused with the foreign word.

"Did that toad just talk?" Sako asked suddenly at Kristen's side. Kasca walked over to them also interested in Jaken.

"I think it did." He said as he sat on the other side of Kristen.

"I'm not a toad. I'm an imp." Jaken squawked. Both boys winced at how loud he was.

"It's true what they say. The smaller something is the louder it squawks." Sako said.

"Who says that? I've never heard something that stupid." Kasca said with an attitude.

"You know. The people that say all the sayings. One in the hand is worth two in the bush. One who laughs loudest laughs last. Those people."

"You're all kinds of stupid, aren't you?" Kasca said after a moment.

"At least I know how to have fun. Jeez. You're such a pessimist."

"Both of you, Shut Up!" Kristen said from in between them. "I swear. If I have to sit through another one of your fights I'm gonna hit someone." They both immediately stopped bickering and started to behave.

"I guess we know who wears the pants in that threesome." said the detective. Kagome and Sango both started to giggle while the men in the clearing just shook their heads.

The next morning Sesshomaru and his group had left long ago to continue looking for his mystery friend not knowing how close she really was.

Everyone left in the camp woke with a start. Something was growling and was very close.

I have the rest of the story planned out again as long as i don't forget again this should be dramatic and interesting. Still thinking about changing the name. review what you think it should be.
