Chapter 37: Little Scarlett

(Scarlett's POV)

"Where are we going?" I asked Demetri as we walked along a path. He simply smiled down at me and took my hand while I sighed. We walked across the island to a cave.

"This is where we have to swim." Demetri said leading me into the cave. In the center was a place where we had to dive into the water.

"I don't know Demetri." I said looking into the dark water. I looked up at him just in time to see him roll his eyes and I huffed.

"Come on." He said pulling off my swimsuit cover up.

"Hay I can undress myself you know." I pouted and he laughed taking my hand.

"It's about a fifteen minute swim till we get there so just hold onto my hand." I nodded and we dove into the water which led to an underground. As we swam through the cave my eyes wondered around and I could see all sorts of sea creatures that lived in here. After about fifteen minutes Demetri stopped me and I looked at him in confusion. He smiled then swan around me placing an arm around my waist and covering my eyes with his free hand as he pulled us to the surface.

"Demetri?" I whispered my voice echoing around us telling me that we were in a cave.

"Trust me." He replied, "and keep your eyes closed." I did as he said while he pulled me through the water. After a minute he pulled me out and I was laying on my back on a very smooth rock surface.

"Ok open." He said and when I opened my eyes all I could see were small lights that looked like stars.

"Wow." I said sitting up, "it's beautiful."

"Very few people in the Volturi know about this place," he said pulling me onto his lap, "it's one of my favorite places to be." I laughed a little.

"I bet you tell all the girls you bring here that." I said smiled at him and he smirked for a second then kissed me.

"You're the only person I've brought here Scarlett," he said locking his eyes with mine, "only you now and for forever." I smiled and returned to looking at the glowing lights. Demetri and I lay on the smooth rock not saying anything; we just looked at the shining lights in the cave as he held me in his arms.

"I love you Demetri," I whispered.

"I love you to Scarlett."

~Two Weeks Later~

"Welcome home Demetri, Scarlett." Aro smiled standing up from his chair as Demetri and I walked into the throne room after putting our luggage in our room.

"Hello." I smiled while Demetri gave a little bow.

"Don't be shy dear," Aro smiled holding out his hands to me, "come here let me look at you." I smiled and walked over to him placing my hands in his.

"You're just as beautiful as I thought you would be." Aro smiled and I looked down in embarrassment.

"Thank you Aro." I replied as he gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"Did you enjoy your honeymoon?" Marcus asked walking into the room with Caius and I nodded.

"Yes the island was amazing thank you for letting us stay there." Caius rolled his eyes with a faint smile on his lips which quickly disappeared as he turned to Demetri.

"That's enough slacking off," he said, "Demetri you and Felix have work to do in Russia now get going."

"Now brother," Aro said in a scolding tone, "they just got home." Caius scoffed while Demetri looked at me with an apologetic look.

"It's ok," I said smiling at Aro, "I'll go hang with Heidi or Jane while Demetri is working."

"That would be best," Caius said before Aro could speak, "Demetri has a lot of work to do here in the Volturi so do not distract him when he should be working." Aro sighed and patted my hand before letting go.

"You two may leave now," Aro smiled, "Demetri I expect you down here in an hour. You and Felix will leave to Russia tonight."

"Yes sir." Demetri said while grabbing my hand and we walked out.

"He acts like I'm always slacking on the job." Demetri muttered in frustration as we walked down the hall.

"Caius?" I asked then thought for a minute, "I thought he sounded like a father scolding his son." Demetri huffed.

"I'm not a boy." He muttered again and I raised an eyebrow.

"Uh-huh." I replied as we walked into our room and he stopped to look at me.

"What does that mean?" He asked and I shrugged.

"Nothing." I replied innocently and he paused for a minute then smirked.

"Dear Scarlett," he said pulling me close to him and I froze as he nibbled on my ear, "you of all people should know that I'm far from a boy."

"D-Demetri!" I stuttered and stepped on his foot.

"Ouch!" He hissed stepping back.

"Sorry," I said quickly, "still getting used to my strength." Demetri shook his head with a small smile.

"What am I going to do with you little one?" he sighed and I crossed my arms and pouted.

"Weeeelll sorry for not being used to being a vampire." I said with a pout, "and don't call me 'little one.'"

"What should I call you then?" he asked while sitting on the couch with a thoughtful expression.

"Young one?" he continued watching me out of the corner of his eyes as I glared at him, "or perhaps child?" I stomped my foot.

"How about not!" I hissed and he smirked.

"Pouty then." He smirked and I glared at him.

"I like that," he continued, "Since you're always pouting it's a perfect name for you." I raised my hand to slap him on the head, but he caught my wrist and smirked up at me. Before I could react he pulled me down and I fell onto the couch and he had me pinned down as he hovered above me.

"You shouldn't slap your elders Scarlett." He said in a scolding tone but his eyes held amusement.

"Fine," I said, "now get off me old man." Demetri raised an eye brow then chuckled.

"I don't think so," he replied moving closer to me. He gave me a small kiss before wrapping his arms around me and resting his head on my chest.

"This old man is too tired to move." He whispered and I rolled my eyes. After a few seconds I melted into his arms and wrapped one arm around his neck while I slowly moved my free hand through his hair. Demetri let out a soft purr as he relaxed as well.

"You're spoiled Demetri." I whispered.

"I know," he replied then lifted his head to look at me, "but I love being spoiled by my little Scarlett." I sighed and kissed him.

"Little Scarlett huh." I said as he rested his head back on my chest, "I guess I can live with that."

"Would you prefer pet?" he asked and I could tell he was smiling.

"No." I hissed a little and he chuckled.

"Little Scarlett it is then."
