Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter
Warning: mpreg
Oh my! I am so sorry I took so long once again to update this story. I feel even worse for those of you who follow my other stories. I'm still really stuck on those. For this chapter, it was coming out way longer than I expected and had to split it in two. So you'll get an two more chapters rather than just one more.
Someone asked why I posted what happens in the future in an earlier chapter rather than the end. Its because that chapter was made to be what Harry saw while he was in his 5 month long coma. There will be an epilogue, but not as far into the future as chapter 35. Hope that cleared up any confusion.
I just joined the twitter world. Sad I know. But if I get more followers, I'll post updates on progress of chapters and may post ideas for your thoughts. Find me hyde1403
Onto to the chapter:
Harry lowered his mate down onto their bed looking like his usual perfect self, even with his puffy eyes from crying. Harry's heart clenched at the thought that Draco had been alone for five months, doing so even pregnant. His chest swelled in pride knowing his mate was so strong to care for himself and the growing life inside of him, but also to their growing pack. It was odd knowing he had a large pack, one that he did not help take care of or create. He would have to acquaint himself with everyone, but for now his attention was needed solely for his mate.
He laid further down the bed from Draco so his head was level with the small bump protruding from Draco's smaller form. Harry now understood why Remus was seen holding his head at Sirius's midsection because as he did so he could hear the faint movements of his child within Draco and he was so grateful to his superior hearing. He wondered how Draco handled the news of learning he was with a pup and when he learned about it. Did his mate cry for joy? Or for sadness of the possibility of not having him for support? He also wondered what he was going to have. He hardly remembered the dreams he had, but he did know of a child he had dreamed, but still could not remember the gender. He thought about waking Draco and asking, but thought better of that idea at the evidence that Draco was exhausted and obviously needed some sleep.
"Hello little one," Harry whispered as he stretched a hand across the expanse of his mate's belly he had exposed. "Its your father, or papa. Call me whatever you want. I just wanted to let you know that I'm here now and I am going to take care of you and your daddy. When your old enough I'll explain why I wasn't here. I wonder if you're a boy or a girl? Did Daddy ever find out?" Harry asked aloud before placing a kiss where he had felt some movement coming from his child. It was amazing to be able to feel his child and knowing that this life was a part of him.
"I wanted to wait," came the hoarse whisper above Harry's head. His head snapped up to see Draco looking down at him with tired eyes. Even when Harry first saw Draco after he had been turned into a werewolf, Harry had never seen him with such tired eyes. Harry scooted up the bed so he was leaning against the headboard and pulled Draco on top of him, he waited until Draco made himself comfortable before wrapping his arms around his mate. He smiled when he heard a content purr coming from Draco. "I've missed this."
"So have I, love. I am sorry for leaving you for so long," Harry replied, burying his nose into the soft blonde strands and breathing in deeply. He didn't feel as though he was asleep for five months, but it did feel like he was separated from Draco for an even longer time. All he wanted to do was familiarize himself of his mate, and didn't that awaken his body. He subtly tried to shift to make himself comfortable and so he would not alert Draco to his predicament. This was not the time to think of mating.
"Its not your fault," Draco murmured. He could easily fall asleep being held like this by his mate, except for the innocent poking in his back. He was in no mood to have sex, but he understood why Harry was aroused. Draco was happy that he wasn't trying to move anything along. He knew they needed to go see the pack soon, but he was not ready to share Harry with anybody. That thought also came with the fact that Harry might need to feed. "Harry?"
"Hm?"
"You should feed," Draco punctuated himself by stretching his neck to the side. He skin tingled at the heavy wave of lust and hunger that wafted off of Harry accompanied by Harry tracing a line with his lips down his throat. Suddenly he became confused when Harry growled and pulled away. "Harry?"
"I can't feed from you. The pup.."
"Will be perfectly fine. While you were asleep Severus did tests to make sure that nothing would happen if you were to feed from me," Draco argued. He pressed closer when Harry opened his mouth to protest more. "We even brewed a blood replenishing potion that would be safe for me to consume if you're worried about it. Honestly Harry, it will be fine."
"Draco, I don't know," Harry scratched at the back of his neck. Yes, he needed to feed. Badly. But he could not risk his mate or pup with that need. He would just have to find some other source, neither him nor Draco would like it, but if it kept them safe that was all that mattered.
"Harry James Potter, you will feed from me, your mate. I will not allow anyone to feed you," Draco said in his most sternest voice. It was the voice he had been using these past few months to hold authority over the pack and it seemed to work with Harry as well. His mate sat back against the headboard staring wide-eyed at the unusual display of authority. Draco could even see the twitch in Harry's mouth as he continued to stare into Harry's eyes. The twitch was the need to snarl at Draco and make him submit, but Draco was not about to. His mate needed sustenance, and he was going to give it. After a minute long staring match, Harry finally nodded and Draco smirked.
"So where did that come from?" Harry asked as Draco arranged himself to be comfortable on his lap for the feeding. The assertiveness Draco used irritated his dominant side, but it had also been incredibly sexy.
"Four months of taking over your job. I have a feeling it will stay like that as we have more pups," Draco said matter-of-factly. He noticed the sudden arousal coming from Harry and his inner-wolf wanted to yip in happiness that him being assertive had turned Harry on, but now was not the moment for that. Finally having himself arranged across Harry's lap with his neck close to Harry, Draco tilted his head back and relaxed into Harry's arms.
"Please do," was all Harry said before his hunger took over and Harry bit into Draco. He sucked harder than ever and growled through the pleasure of feeding from his mate. It felt like he had been in a desert for the past five months and this was his first taste of liquid. He could feel the life coming back to him and he felt so much alive this moment. His brows furrowed in confusion as he tasted something different about his mate and the realization hit that he could taste the difference caused by the pregnancy. Even though he could have sat at Draco's throat for ages, Harry reluctantly stopped and healed the small punctures. He buried his face into the juncture of Draco's neck and shoulder, just breathing in his mate's scent. Not removing himself from Draco's neck, he whispered to his mate. "Are you okay?"
"I am now, now that you are finally back to me," Draco replied feeling tears prickle his eyes again. He wrapped his own arms around Harry and just held his mate, relishing in the feeling of being able to do so.
"As much as I want to stat here, we only have a short time before the moon rises and I need to meet the pack. Then after the moon rises, Remus will have to present Kallisto to the pack so we can fealty to her," Harry said as he lifted Draco off of his lap and moved to change his clothes. He began undressing as he walked to the closet and he smiled when he heard the quiet rumble of arousal come from his mate. After he changed, he also grabbed some fresh clothes for Draco, checking to make sure it was the size he would need and headed back into the bedroom.
"How will that work tonight?" Draco asked curiously. It was not something Harry had discussed during any of their conversations about pack life.
"We'll gather in the garden after the change and then Remus will come out carrying Kallisto and he will present her to us first since we're the alpha pair and once we make our approval and move aside, the others will follow. I'll even announce to the vampires that they must be made available to do so tonight as well," Harry said as he lead his mate out of their room and towards where Remus and Sirius were.
"Why only Remus? Wouldn't Sirius be there to?" Draco asked as he pushed himself under Harry's arm as they walked down the hall.
"I'm just assuming Sirius will still be recovering and won't be able to attend with us for the full moon. After the pack pays fealty, Remus will bring Kallisto back up here." Harry replied as he walked into the sitting room that lead to Remus's and Sirius's bedroom. "So why is the main hallway closed off, but the suite doors open?"
"We needed to make a place where the rest of the pack could not go, but we didn't want to feel cut-off from each other."
"Hm, good thinking," Harry said as he knocked on the bedroom door and only entered when he heard a quiet enter. He smiled softly when he saw that Remus was the one to be asleep curled around Sirius while the animagus held his daughter.
"Hey cub," Sirius said quietly so as not to wake Remus. The poor werewolf was about as exhausted as he felt, even though he was the one to give birth, but being away from his mate and pup when they needed him most had fried his nerves. So Sirius had told his mate to finally lay down and take a nap and had promised profusely to wake him up is Sirius needed help.
"Hey Sirius, how are you?" Harry asked as he pulled up a chair next to the bed and guided Draco to it before just standing next to Sirius's bed. He looked down and saw his sister fast asleep. "May I hold her?"
"Of course you can," Sirius handed over Kallisto to Harry's waiting arms before leaning back into his pillows with a sigh. "As for how I'm doing? Sore and exhausted, but happy."
"Did Severus give you pain potions?" Harry asked as he ran a finger along the tiny cheek of Kallisto. He bent his head down and ran his own cheek along his sister's, familiarizing himself with her scent and to give protection to her with his own scent. He looked to Draco when he felt his mate pull on his sleeve and saw him craning his neck to get another look at the child. Smiling, Harry passed Kallisto to Draco and chuckled at the quiet noise of delight that Draco made. He watched as Draco did the same as he did and rubbed his own cheek against Kallisto's.
"Yeah he did," Sirius said as he watched Draco and Harry with his daughter.
"Good," Harry said. "Sirius, when the moon rises, Remus will bring her down to meet the pack after he and Kallisto change. You know that right?"
"You want her to be around all of those werewolves and vampires on the day of her birth?" Sirius asked with a slight edge to his voice.
"Sirius, she'll change with the moon because she is a werewolf. It's a way for the pack to recognize her and to pledge to protect her. I'm meeting with the pack soon to let them know I'm awake and taking my spot as alpha so she will not be in danger," Harry said carefully trying to prevent Sirius from getting angry.
"I'm coming then. I've spent the all of the full moons outside in the garden so no one will attack me, but I am not leaving Kallisto alone. Even with you and Remus there."
"Sirius, you're in position to leave this room. You're still recovering," Harry tried to explain.
"I don't care. I'll have someone levitate me down to the garden. I've made my decision, now go meet with the pack like you said," Sirius snapped. Draco had the right of mind to gently place Kallisto back into Sirius's arms.
"Come Harry, let's go," Draco said pulling on Harry's arm. His mate let out a long sigh before nodding. Harry apologized to Sirius for making him angry before leaving the room. Harry stopped in front of the door that would lead to the rest of the castle. He took in a deep breath and pushed the door open and walked through, keeping an arm around Draco's waist for his own reassurance and also for Draco's. "How about we do this in the front garden?" Draco asked as they descended the first staircase.
"Alright." As Harry lead Draco through the castle towards the front garden, Harry held his head high and a strong grip on Draco so that everyone they passed could tell who he was and that he was ready to take his position as alpha. He discreetly took note of those who bowed their heads to him, ignored him, or dared to look into his eyes with clear disdain. He also took note of who made Draco uncomfortable. He wished fervently that he had woken sooner to help dispel these fears within his mate. He leaned down to Draco's ear, whispering. "How do you get everyone gathered?"
"Send a patronus. We didn't know if you had a different system in mind," Draco replied.
"That'll work for now. We can research a better system after I've established myself here," Harry said.
When Harry and Draco reach the front entrance and exited the castle, Harry's grip around Draco's waist loosened and stepped away from his mate. He titled his face to the sky and relished in the feeling of the sun on his face. Harry took a deep breath, taking in the scent of the nature that surrounded the castle. The rich earthy grass, the mysteries of the forest, the clean scent of the nearby river. What caught his attention was the overwhelming smell of the pack. Yes, he could smell everyone inside of the castle, but this smell was more tangible. It felt like it was wrapping the property like a protective barrier. Harry crouched to the ground and felt the magic that pulsed there and noticed it had changed from the last time he had directly connected with the natural magic that made the castle feel like home.
"What do you feel?" Draco asked as he walked up to where Harry was crouched. He wasn't sure what Harry was feeling, but he could feel the gentle exchange of magic between his mate and the castle.
"The magic of the pack has joined the magic of the castle. You might not have noticed it because of living and moving about it every day, but for me the last time I connected to the castle like this was shortly after we moved in. My unconsciousness blocked that recognition and its just connecting." Harry sighed happily as he ended the connection and stood back up. He turned to Draco and was pleased to see the happiness in his mate's eyes. "A bit intoxicating after waking up," Harry said as he pulled Draco to him, capturing soft lips with his own.
"Mm, Harry," Draco moaned in between the kiss, wanting to enjoy the attentions from Harry, but he knew they had to stop. So with a frustrated groan, mostly at himself, Draco pulled away from Harry. "You need to call everyone out here."
"Of course, my voice of reason right now," Harry lightly chuckled at the glare he got in return. He turned away from Draco and drew on his magic. "Expecto Patronum," Harry called out and watched as a small wolf appeared that seemed to be more grey than silver. He was shocked because he hadn't cast this charm since before his change, which was still his stag. He smiled warmly over to Draco before looking back at the waiting wolf. "Tell everyone their alpha wants in the front garden." Harry watched as the wolf nodded its head before running off.
"Should I expect anything bad with this meeting?" Draco asked, inwardly cursing himself for the way his voice trembled. Of course he was nervous, but that did not mean he would want Harry to know. He was scared that someone would try to challenge Harry. It was not as if he doubted Harry's power, but he had just woken up from a coma and he did not want to see his mate get hurt. Draco smoothed a hand over his stomach as he felt his child begin to move about.
"You can probably expect someone to challenge me. Possibly even you," as that thought was spoken aloud, Harry began to get nervous as well. Draco was in no position to have someone challenge him for his spot as Harry's mate.
"What should I do if someone does challenge me?" Draco asked.
"You can have someone take your place. If it does happen, pick someone who's a submissive as well. Vampire or werewolf, doesn't matter."
"Hm," Draco looked up when he sensed someone walking up to them and he was pleased to see his father and Severus making their way. Severus. He would ask Severus if he would be willing to take his place if there was a need. "What about Severus?"
"Severus?" Harry looked around and caught sight of Lucius and Severus walking over to them. "Good choice, love."
"Severus?" Draco asked when the vampire pair stop in front of them. "May I ask you of a favor?"
"Certainly."
"If I were to be challenged, could you do it for me? I obviously cannot fight while being pregnant," Draco said, looking down at his growing stomach and wrapped his arms protectively around it. He looked up when Severus laid his hand over Draco's.
"Of course I will," Severus said. There was no need to even ask him. He would gladly defend Draco from anyone.
"Here they come," Harry said as he caught sight of the first few members of the pack make their way out of the castle and down the steps.
A/N: Hope this chapter lived up to the rest of the story so far. I am actually sad to think that this story is almost done and I will be forced to focus on my other stories lol. As Always R&R
