I think I have an idea on where this is going... Not positive
When Luna came home Thursday, with a nasty scrape on her elbow. She had a big bandage on it, and while the child didn't seemed bothered her parents were. Skye had just finished putting Luna down for bed, only to see Ward pacing the bedroom.
"Ward?" He didn't answer, and when Skye grabbed his shoulder, he tried to gently break away from her.
"Why doesn't anyone do something?" He was nearly prepared to hit the wall, "Why doesn't anyone stop that child?"
"Ward..." Skye sighed, what were they suppose to do? Skye didn't understand what she was suppose to do as the parent?
"That's it..." Ward concludes, "I'm picking her up from school tomorrow, and I'm going to set things straight with that child's parents."
Skye sighed, sweat dropping, "Ok... Just stop pacing."
It was a long flight to the Sandbox. Which meant that the planes inhabitants were a bit on edge. All of the were worried, were Skye and Ward ok? Did Luna develop another ability? Did they need to be extracted and were now on the run?
The only thing that FitzSimmons could do besides worry was examine the Helmet before they handed it off to other, more professional, colleagues. They were trying to match the energy signature it emitted and were having severe difficulty. Neither of them wanted to risk wearing it, mostly because of the position that they found the dead body in.
And Coulson, Coulson kept getting calls and reminders about protocol and where the plane was with landing at the SandBox. Agent Blake kept reminding him that if any extraterrestrial infections found their way on the helmet or any cargo, they were to quarantine the helmet and dispose if all infected cargo before it has a chance to spread. Every time he was reminded, he remembered Simmons hurtling towards the earth to certain death.
So, as Coulson passed the lab, seeing his two favorite scientist struggle with decoding one of the helmets mysteries, he abruptly entered without warning. They turn, stopping in mid sentence, no one expecting him to enter.
"Take a break, you two have been working on that thing all day."
"But sir, our research-"
"Please, you've both been locked in here all day. Please just take a break..." Coulson sighed.
"I guess we could, for a little while. I mean we aren't landing for a while, and we are caught in turbulence."
"Which means we could be in hours of delay..." Simmons finishes for Fitz.
"Go have some fun, maybe watch Doctor Who," With that said, Simmons dragged Fitz away with a big smile. Which left Coulson alone in the lab.
Despite knowing better, the Commanding officer walked over to the table and gently picked it up. He held it in his hands, looking at it with curiosity. He was curious about it and slowly examined the dark interior of it.
"Do you think it's Asgardian?"
Coulson jumped, spinning around to see May in the doorway and relaxed.
"No... No I don't. They'd have figured that out by now if it was at least Asgardian, plus this helmet doesn't remind me of any Norse story."
"You think Luna knows what it is?"
"I think she has a better idea of what this is than any of us."
Ward left the next day to pick up Luna early. It was Friday, and after a lot of persistence, he agreed that Maya could come sleep over. And she was planning to come over after her dance class around dinner. But that's besides the point, Ward came early, in the hopes that he would be able to talk to Kimiko's mother or father.
Walking towards the playground, he saw his daughter, two blonde little boys and Maya sitting on the top if the monkey bars. Waving over to the little kids he noticed that a small little girl, Kimiko was climbing on top of the monkey bars as well. She crawled behind Luna as she was distracted with waving to Ward. Everything happened so fast Ward practically leapt over the fence.
"LUNA!" Luna crashed onto the wood chips, her jaw tensed as she laid there. Ward ran over, kneeling down to her as the kids all came over. Luna started to give pained hiccup gasps as she sat up. She was choking up and Ward quickly placed her in his lap and assessed her injuries.
"Luna what hurts?"
Luna took his hand and placed it under her chin briefly and then on the top of her head. She spoke in a thick, heavy voice, "My knee hurts..."
"Which knee?"
"My right one."
Ward held her in his lap before looking up, seeing other parents filtering through the gate. He lifted Luna up, laying her along the bench before walking over to two tall Asians that stood with Kimiko. Ward walked over to them, watching as the woman grip Kimiko's shoulders tightly.
"Excuse me, are you her parents?"
"Yes, why?"
"For the past four days, she's been bullying my daughter."
"That's a lie!" Kimiko cried, "It's a lie mommy!"
"She just pushed my daughter off the monkey bars," Ward protests, "If you don't believe me you can ask Ms. Bennet but my daughter got hurt and your daughter is responsible."
Kimiko's father glared, "Is that a threat?"
"No, it's just a fact. Now I'm asking that you both address her behavior before she tries to hurt my daughter again."
Ward turns, seeing just out of the corner of his eye Kimiko's father glaring at him. He just sees the oncoming attack and turns, catching the fist. He wordlessly pushes it aside, "Try that again and I'll call the cops."
With that said, Ward walked over to the bench, seeing one of the little blonde boys trying to make her comfortable. Luna smiled at him, holding his glasses for him for a moment. Just as he placed them back on Ward bent down to pick his little girl up.
"Bye Greg..." Luna waved from over Wards shoulder, making both Greg and Ward smile as Ward said goodbye to the boy as well and headed to the car.
"How's your knee doing?" He asked as he buckled her up, slightly jarring her knee. She winced, giving a squeal! "sorry!"
Luna choked down her tears and looked at Ward, "Daddy? Can Maya still sleep over please?"
Ward sighed, "We'll see ok? Let's get you home and ice that knee."
"Ok..." Luna says watching her dad close the door and head towards the driver seat, all the while trying to not cry from the pain. She looked at her daddy, worried because underneath that uncharacteristically calm facade was a very angry man.
This Concludes Chapter 37. Poor Luna with her knee, although I suppose the Aliens don't mind.
Also, if you've been reading this, and you think at her planet was completely annihilated because of her helmet. Well... I can't explain it or else it'll spoil it but trust me... It's not JUST for the helmet.
I also got new glasses, I can see so clearly now! It's disorienting, it really is! But stay around for 38!
