It wasn't long until Katie figured out what has been done at the courthouse...
Hearing that Crystal was behind bars by Chaz, she felt a bit unnerved, but she wasn't surprised. She wasn't happy either. She felt like Crystal no longer was her friend at all, and at the same time, considering that she was finally out of her life, it still didn't feel like Katie's actually happy of the outcome. She just laid on her bed, with the radio on her phone on, playing 'Give a Little Bit' by Supertramp. It might seem a bit happy, but it was mellow to the point where she can feel sad and listen to it, if that makes sense. She sighed, keeping her eyes on the ceiling.
Just then, she heard a knock on her door. She got up from her bed, and headed downstairs. She walks over to the door to see Ghostly standing outside her door, feeling sad about something. She crossed her arms, looking at Ghostly.
"Not so good, huh?" Katie asked. "I didn't expect Crystal to be off to jail...but apart of me was expecting that anyway..." Ghostly shrugs.
"Normally, I'd not say no to somebody...but..." Ghostly just shook his head, looking down to the floor. "...I just betrayed them, Kate...I just threw all of them, people that I've been friends with for about...all my life here, and I just threw them under the bus, just like that." Katie nods, hearing that.
"I know it sucks dude...it really, really sucks to do something like that." Katie looks off to the left. "But I doubt that you'd really threw a bunch of goths under the bus for a bad cause...you know?" Katie shrugs, looking at him. "Right?" Ghostly nods.
"I did it for Ol' Gabby, mostly. He looked at me like he was counting on me to say 'Yes' to send those goths to jail. But a part of me was saying to free the goths. If I did that, I think Gabby's trust in me would be gone just like..." Ghostly snaps his fingers. "...Just like that." Katie nods, understanding Ghostly's reason. "I just...still don't know why I just don't feel right doing the decision that I made." Katie just sighed, looking down to the floor. Then she looks at Ghostly. "Even worse, Crystal sounded completely regretful of her choice after what she did to the junkyard. I...I didn't know what to choose after that." Ghostly sighed, before nodding to himself. "But what's done is done...I can't change what I did now...and..." He sighed one more time. "I guess the goths, except for me, Violet, Ray, and Raven are in prison and...who knows when they will be getting out." Katie looks down, feeling saddened by that.
"Who knows..."
"Yeah..."
"Still at the factory, though?" Ghostly looks at Katie, shrugging.
"I guess me and my friends can hang out in a place that's not the goth's former hideout. We'll probably just hang out like normal people, and just...hang out at one of our houses or something." Ghostly smiled, weakly. "Sounds a lot more better, the more I think about it." Katie nods, smiling back.
"That sounds a lot better too. Yeah." Katie frowns again. "I don't know what I'm going to do now that Crystal's back in the juvie block again."
"Considering Crystal's about seventeen or eighteen, I assume she's off to normal jail more than juvie this time. So..." Ghostly shrugs. "Your guess is as good as mine." Ghostly sighed leaning on the wall. "I just hope that they won't get too furious at me once they get out of there...I mean...Goth Boy will be angry the most." Katie crossed her arms, nodding to this.
"How'd Violet take this news?" Ghostly threw his arms up, and sighed.
"Well, all she was, was not surprised at all. But the only words she told me was that the goths were no longer a problem thanks to today. All she could respond was really just good riddance and that's it." Ghostly sighed, and then Katie spoke.
"I hope you don't mind me asking, but since you're still a bit broken up about all of this, think that me and you should walk together to just to forget all of what happened today?" Ghostly nods.
"Sure...it is almost evening anyway...and I could use the comfort."
The two college teens walked down the sidewalk, heading off to somewhere, just keeping their minds off of the trial that just happened earlier today. It was kind of hard for both of them, since this kind of thing doesn't really happen often in Simport. But it seems like everyone was really okay with what happened, and just brushed off this morning like it was nothing. The two were talking to each other as they were walking down the sidewalk to go off somewhere.
"So you talked to Dallas about this?" Katie asked Ghostly. "How'd he feel about this?" Ghostly shrugs.
"He told me that it was kind of unexpected that I was the one who had the final word on what happened to the goths. He knows I'm not the kind of person to throw allies under the bus just to save my own self." Ghostly said to the tomboyish dentist. "I mean...he also told me that he was thankful that I never threw him under the bus, but he was still disappointed because he was starting to like Goth Boy."
"So I guess you and Dallas are on the same terms as me and Crystal, huh?" Ghostly shook his head.
"Not really. Once I told him, he just passed me to try to cope with the fact that Goth Boy was in prison, by most likely going off to the bar again or something." Katie cringed, nodding to that.
"Right..." Katie cringed, looking over to the left as they were walking past the park. "Oh well...how does Dallas even know Goth Boy anyway? I...never knew he even knows the goth..."
"They met when Dallas was just passing the junkyard, and then they met a couple times at the gym where Goth Boy and Yuki works out at." Ghostly shrugs. "He never really got to know his girlfriend, because Yuki's usually with the other girls talking rather than talk to Dallas. She thinks he's scary, you know?" Katie nods hearing that. "Oh well...I'm sure Dallas will get over it. He usually always does." Katie nods again.
"Come to think? What about that Ruby woman that I met at that town race one time with Chaz? How did she feel about this?" Ghostly sighed.
"I didn't tell my grandmother yet. But I'm going to down the road." Katie nods as they were stopping themselves at a corner of the block that they were on. "I actually called Gino and told him that I will be helping him out during the night shifts from this moment until the junkyard is fixed. So I can talk to her during one of those times." Katie nods.
"That sounds reasonable." Katie smiles reassuringly. "Don't worry with what she'll say, I'm sure she will understand why you've done what you've done to the goths." Ghostly nods, knowing this already.
"I'm pretty sure she'll be alright with what happened regardless. But she'd probably get extremely concerned that I was placed under the pressure by Walker and Ian back there in the courthouse." Katie shrugged.
"I...guess that's just what happens in the courthouse business, you know? Who knows really, I don't." Katie looks across the crosswalk ahead of them. "Well, there's the empty road right there." Kate smiled. "Let's cross this road together, shall we?" Ghostly nods, agreeing with Katie.
"Sure thing."
The two walked across the road, heading off on a walk to clear their minds. They didn't really forget about what happened, they slightly didn't feel bothered by it, but they still haven't forgotten about it. It was going to be hard to not think about Goth Boy and the rest of the goths being off to prison for awhile now.
