Sebastian: Hello, dear readers. *flashes a smile* I will be delivering the notes before the chapter begins, unless any of you find it unfavorable.
Katherine: *pokes her head in* What are you doing here?
Sebastian: *sighs*...I really would hate to repeat myself, Katherine. Really, you should learn to pay better attention.
Katherine: *blinks* Say, where's the author? *narrows her eyes* What did you do, Sebastian?
Sebastian: She has found herself a tad...preoccupied, I'm afraid. *innocent smile*
Katherine: ..."Preoccupied"...?
LostAngel: *Locked in a closet* Oi, Sebastian! Let me out of here, now! I swear! This is my story and I will make you pay! *hears a cat* O.O Kitty! *snuggles it* Nevermind...but I do want out of here before my supply of oxygen runs out...
Katherine: *sighs* Fine, just hurry it up. Ciel wants his afternoon tea, and something sweet.
Sebastian: Of course. *reads off a sheet* This chapter appears to be longer than the others and she did not read it for mistakes and/or any errors. *sighs* She seems as lazy as my own dear kitten is known to be, it would seem... *Katherine twitches from comment*...*bows, grinning* Please, enjoy the chapter, readers. If desired, feel free to leave a comment or private message the author. She enjoys reading your words, or so I do hear.
Ciel: SEBASTIAN!
Sebastian: *sighs* It would seem the young master is impatient as ever... *grins* Enjoy.
Katherine stared at the snake before her, slowly backing away. She was not a fan of snakes, at all. She could not help but to be afraid. Unknown to her, though, her eyes began to glow, acting on her fear. The snake backed away, just slightly, Katherine's eyes widening when she noticed it looked as if it were beginning to retreat. What made it react in such a way? A sudden motion made her look away, the first-string member Doll landing between the boy and Katherine. Okay...this could double as "bad". Doll kept her eyes on Ciel, intently, looking at Katherine for a moment.
"Seba-" Ciel began, Doll placing her hand over the boy's mouth, silencing him. She showed the snake to Ciel, the snake rendered immobile and rather harmless now. So...did she just save him, or was she threatening the boy...?
"Oi, Doll!" Dagger's voice came. Doll stepped out, Dagger giving a friendly expression, "What are you waiting for? Get changed and we'll go eat—" Doll flashed the snake before Dagger, the knife-thrower hilariously gasping in fright. "This snake was loose. We've told him to not let them outside." Doll looked irritated, Dagger still looking terrified, "Snake! Put it in your tent!" Snake wondered over, the serpent going around the boy's neck as if it were basically a type of accessory. Katherine noticed the snake hiss at him, almost as if whispering something into his ear, her eyes widening slightly. Could he speak to snakes...? Maybe that was why he was always around them. Either way, the snake was gone so Katherine could breathe a silent sigh of relief.
"I don't want a careless step to kill me..." Doll said, Katherine inwardly agreeing with her. "Please keep'em shut up. See you later." Dagger smiled at Doll, both he and Snake walking away. Doll turned back to Ciel and Katherine, pulling Ciel's hand as she led them to a safer area, one where they would not get into trouble for being at.
"Thanks," Katherine gave a smile, Doll nodding at her. "Don't let me find you, again. That area is off-limits." Katherine nodded, walking away. Ciel was about to follow, Doll pulling him away. Katherine noticed him being drug away, something telling her he'd be fine. Some would say it, mainly Sebastian, that it was irresponsible letting her master get drug away. But, somehow, she knew he'd be alright. Maybe Doll just wanted to get to know him a bit better. Either way, Katherine walked on.
Once away, Doll looked to Ciel, who looked almost fearful. Was Doll going to take him in? Was he caught? No, that could not be it...Katherine was let go, after all. "Why did you help us? Even more, why drag me here? I am not guiltier than Kath-, uh, Ice."
"You still don't get it?" Doll walked a little forward. "It's me." She took off her headpiece, Ciel widening his eyes in surprise, "Freckles?!" It was indeed the boy's roommate, though Ciel was given a look of irritation, "Hey! That's not a very nice name to call me!" Ciel took a few steps back, "Y-You're a bloke who wears dresses on stage?!" That caused an even further look of irritation. "You're very rude! I'm a genuine maid, I'll have you know!"
A few moments later, after some events Ciel would have a hard time forgetting took place (like Freckles placing Ciel's hand on her chest, giving the boy proof of her gender), Ciel looked at his roommate, "Why did you let Ice go but drag me here?" Freckles blinked, "I didn't want her know my secret." Ciel blinked. "Say...if you're a first-stringer, why are you sharing my tent?" Freckles answered, "Well, I don't like staying by myself. I sleep better when someone's with me." Ciel had to keep a sweatdrop from forming, this conversation sounding a bit like one he and Katherine had before.
"Sounds vaguely familiar..." Ciel muttered, Freckles cocking her head in slight confusion.
[Flashback]
Ciel was, needless to say, not fond of Katherine and Sebastian staying in the same room, in the same bed. He did not want guests to think that Katherine was a sleazy or vulnerable maid, Sebastian taking advantage of the girl. But, deep down, part of that Ciel knew was true—Sebastian did take advantage of the girl's weak points. At first, the child did not care. But, as time had gone by, his opinion began changing little by little.
"Why are you willingly staying in Sebastian's room? I figured he was somehow forcing you to stay there. I gave you one of your own, did I not?" Ciel narrowed his eyes on the girl. Katherine blinked, "Sebastian is a demon and quite scary but I don't think he'd try something like that, Ciel. Have a little more faith in your butler." Ciel sighed, his brow twitching in irritation. "I know Sebastian will not do anything, I am not worried about that, Katherine! I am worried about the reputation of my servants, which falls back on my own reputation in the end. My family name will not be tarnished."
Katherine gave a smile of defeat. "...I seem to sleep better when someone else is in the room. Sebastian teased me about it before but...it seems his words were not just mere teasing but instead had some truth to them. Right now, as much as I dislike it, that person is Sebastian. I know you will come up with some good excuse if someone ever says anything, though I doubt anyone ever will. You're Ciel Phantomhive, after all."
Ciel's brows rose in slight shock. "You're giving Sebastian more trust than I ever expected," Ciel admitted. Katherine crossed her arms over her chest, irritation forming in her eyes, "I am only saying I sleep better when someone is there versus being alone. Sebastian is a creep but not that much. I am not giving any trust to anyone. Please, remember that...young master."
[End of Flashback]
Ciel gave a small smile, the memory creating a slight feeling of fondness inside his heart. But, upon noticing, it immediately vanished. Freckles turned to Ciel, "Hey, you'll still room with me even though I'm first-string, right?" Ciel flashed a friendly smile, one Katherine would love to see on the boy (well a real one), "Yes, of course!" Freckles gave a look of pure relief, "Oh, good. Right, then what happened stays between us." Ciel gave a smile, shaking the girl's hand, "Right."
Next, it seem like time stood still, Freckles departing from "Smile". Ciel was very, very doubtful. He knew how cheap and meaningless words could be. There was no promise or guarantee she would not say something about this night to someone. He had to be careful. In his mind, humans would lie without a second thought. They lied for a number of reasons.
Of course, this included him, Katherine, and everyone else he knew...
Soon, Ciel stood inside Sebastian and William's tent, Katherine walking by as she caught Sebastian's words. Hearing him speak, Katherine decided to stop and eavesdrop on the conversation. "Rest assured, my lord, I won't let you die while our contract holds. But you may encounter some non-fatal suffering if you give the wrong orders. You knew as much. Every game needs its thrills. You're such an avid player, I assumed you shared my opinion."
Katherine almost entered, but stopped upon hearing Ciel's voice. "Ha! Your game is in sickeningly bad taste, demon." Katherine pushed the tent open just enough to catch a peek inside, Sebastian's shit-eating grin coming to her gaze. "You flatter me." Katherine nearly sighed. Sebastian...someone like him she chose to be her lover. What on earth was she thinking...? Ciel gave a dark look, "Nevermind. We found a letter in Joker's tent with my name on it. It had my rank, location of my estate, and even biographical sketch. The sender—"
A gasp from Ciel alerted Katherine, her nearly running in when hearing Ciel's startled voice. She stopped upon hearing William's voice, "You are three centimeters into my area. If the master cannot abide by our agreed-upon boundaries, he's as bad as his dog." Oh, that was a low-blow to Sebastian and Ciel equally. Sebastian hated dogs, being called on surely would have sent a definite chill of anger through the guy. What was with "Suit", anyway? Compared to that red-headed reaper who seemed to have a serious love-crush on Sebastian, this reaper was completely polar opposite. While Katherine didn't want William to act like Grell, this guy needed to relax a bit.
"Let's head outside..."
Ciel left the tent, blinking upon seeing Katherine standing there with an innocent look on her face, "Fancy seeing you here." Ciel's eye twitched, Sebastian giving a sly grin. "Come on and stop eavesdropping," Ciel spoke in irritation. Sebastian only gave an innocent grin, "It seems my kitten enjoys snooping about, how adorable." Katherine blinked, "That sounded wrong in at least a handful of ways, Sebastian." She followed Ciel, as did Sebastian. Once at a shadowed place, they could talk freely. Sadly, the air was rather cold, Katherine pulling her cloak around her even further.
"The sender of that letter bearing my name and information used the name Tom, the piper's son," Ciel informed Sebastian and Katherine, Katherine blinking in surprise. "The Mother Goose character...?" Sebastian asked, confused. Ciel only nodded, his breath quite visible in the frigid air. "I don't know why though..." Ciel muttered, trying to understand the information he had gathered.
Katherine began to get worried. Ciel was coughing quite a bit lately and this cold air certainly was not helping it. She did not want him to get ill, but a part of her already feared he might have been. "The wax imprint...the seal, I mean, showed something familiar. It showed a crest with a horse, as well as the letter 'k', if it means anything. It was the same imprint as that guy's ring, too."
Ciel blinked in slight amazement—Katherine could make out such details. He had seen the wax seal, too, but he did not know the details on that guy's ring. Glancing at Sebastian, CIel noticed a smirk form on the demon's lips. He even seemed impressed. Katherine, though, seemed oblivious to this. However, she wasn't the only oblivious one. As the seconds passed by, Katherine could hear Ciel's breathing get more and more labored, as well as his coughing getting worse.
"Signet rings generally engrave with a motif and an initial represent the bearer or his family. This means that Tom the Piper's song has a coat of arms featuring a horse," Sebastian stated, both he and Ciel ignoring the child's worsening health.
"Ciel, why don't we find someplace warmer?" Katherine suggested. Ciel ignored her, him and Sebastian continuing to talk. "Would the horse mean someone was awarded with knighthood? Perhaps, they were ever a soldier?" Sebastian asked but CIel shook his head, coughing once more, "Not necessarily. But, philanthropy is probably impossible with a bit of status." That boy coughed again, Katherine noticing it was worsening and worsening but still he continued on. "The heraldic authorities all have coats of arms in their registries. We have enough criteria to narrow it down so that however many they have...you should be able to find out who it is."
The boy took another coughing fit, composing himself another time. Katherine did not understand—how could Sebastian stand there, as if the boy was not about to cough up a lung?! She began to protest, "Ciel, let's get you to the medical tent, now." Katherine was only ignored, this starting to get on her last nerve. "Ciel, please! You sound horrible, or haven't you noticed!?"
She was ignored, again.
"The missing children, this circus, Tom and the Piper's son, and me..."
Ciel stopped, doubled over at the waist, silenced by the endless coughing that seemed to grasp his entire being. Katherine placed and arm around him, trying to support the child the best she could. "Ciel! Damn it, Ciel! Come on..." She looked to Sebastian, "Help me get him to the medical tent!" Katherine embraced the boy, Ciel trying to stand back up. He could barely breathe correctly. Katherine feared something had attacked his lungs, her assumptions that he was sick seeming to be quite true. "Sebastian! Now, get him to the medical—"
"We will go back...to the town house..." Ciel tried to speak normal but just could not. After that short sentence, he doubled over, throwing up. Katherine's eyes grew in horror upon seeing the mucus coming out of the boy—he wasn't just sick. "Why didn't you tell me you had asthma?!" She yelled at the boy, immediately calming down her rage.
"Young master!" Sebastian called but Ciel fell into Katherine's lap, her eyes widening in fright, "Ciel! Oh God...he's burning up!"
"Smile!" Katherine turned, her coming face to face with Freckles, or at least that was what Ciel had named roommate. The boy's eyes widened upon seeing Ciel's current state, panicking, "What happened?!"
"Questions later...he needs to see the doctor!" Katherine nearly cried, Sebastian taking the boy from her grasp, the three of them heading to the medical tent. Luckily, the doctor had no problem seeing Ciel, especially upon seeing Ciel's gasping figure.
In my time, we have inhalers for this stuff. What do they do here? Katherine panicked. Ciel was placed in a bed, his body sweating despite the chilled temperature of the night. Katherine stayed near the boy, looking at the doctor, "He'll be okay, right?"
The doctor pulled the blanket up a little higher, it now covering the boy's chest, "Yeah, I believe he will recover. It's asthma." Sebastian looked puzzled, "Asthma? I have live with him for three years and have never witnessed anything like this, doctor." The doctor seemed a little startled, "If he hasn't had an attack in three years, he may essentially be cure. However, multiple factors can trigger a relapse, such as high levels of stress, a sudden chill or even a cold."
Katherine placed a hand on the boy's face. Sebastian looked puzzled, "He has had caught colds before." Katherine gave a deadpanned expression, "Yeah, but he hasn't had to have baths in freezing temperatures before, has he?" Sebastian gave a nod, "That would be correct, yes." The doctor gave a nod, "I also heard he took a bath outside with our weight-lifting addicts..." His gaze was directed at Freckles, who looked less than proud of that true statement. The doctor sighed, "Well, it's no wonder he caught a cold. There were, no doubt, multiple factors."
The room was a quiet, Ciel's voice breaking that silence after a few moments. "Water..." And, in no time at all, Sebastian was at the boy's side, Ciel gulping down water gratefully. But, like before, he gave a series of painful-sounding coughs.
"Smile, did you have a bad case of asthma as a boy?" The Doctor asked, Ciel's eyes widening. His eyes fixed on Katherine, "An...gel. Or, devil? That's what you...are. I...can't..." And, with that, he seemed to pass out into a state of slumber. Katherine's heart began to race, Sebastian noticing the anxiety running through Katherine. "He's hallucinating..." The doctor said, Katherine nodding, her thumbing running over Ciel's cheek.
"Can I get some ice? I'd like to help, since I helped cause this. Please, doctor?" Freckles pleaded, the doctor nodding in agreement. He looked to Katherine and Sebastian, "And, what about you two?" Sebastian glanced at Katherine, noticing she seemed somewhat upset. "We'd like to stay and help," Sebastian answered, Katherine still focused on Ciel's face.
"Of course," the doctor agreed.
The hours passed by but Katherine noticed his fever was not coming down. She kept re-wetting the cloth in cold water, placing it upon Ciel's forehead but it seemed to do nothing. Sebastian stood behind Katherine, speaking, "It is late, Katherine. You should be asleep. I am more than capable of watching over him without assistance." But, Katherine did not budge. "No way, after all he's like this because you didn't even bother to notice that he was barely able to breathe before. I don't trust you with him, not right now."
"You're having quite the difficulty keeping your eyes open, Katherine," Sebastian stated. And, he was right. Katherine had been fighting to stay awake but she did not trust Sebastian to look after Ciel. Not when he seem to purposely ignore the boy earlier. "I will be fine," She protested.
In seconds, Katherine felt herself lifted off the ground, a gasp escaping her lips. "Sebastian! Put me down!" She whispered in rage, careful to not wake Ciel. Sebastian ignored her, placing her on a bed beside the one Ciel rested in. The doctor heard the small ruckus, peeping in the area but smiled when he noticed Sebastian placing Katherine on the bed, the man crouching down to the girl, "It will do no good to exhaust yourself. That will not help him at all, Katherine. Now, leave the rest to me and get some rest."
So, the girl was actually named Katherine, then? The doctor noticed Katherine's gaze at Sebastian, the girl finally sighing in defeat. "Fine..." Before the doctor wheeled himself away from the scene, he noticed Sebastian kissed Katherine affectionately on the forehead, the doctor blinking in faint surprise. He did not suspect the two were so close. To be honest, "Black" just didn't strike him as the "loving type".
"Get some rest..." Sebastian gave a smirk, Katherine falling asleep moments after.
[Dream]
Katherine felt herself lying on a cold surface, the air around her feeling warm but cool. She heard a series of whispers but could not match the voices to any she had ever heard.
"She is growing stronger..."
"That filthy demon! He did this!"
"What do we do? We are incapable of killing her now."
"Regression."
"What?"
"Regress her body. Her powers will remain at the current level but her body will be smaller than it is now. Her own powers will destroy her."
"Regressing a being like her would surely be an unforgiveable sin!"
"Letting her live would be a greater sin..."
The scene seemed to fade in Katherine's dreaming mind, another coming about. She seemed to be in the same sleeping state at moments before but this time her eyes opened. Looking at her hand, her eyes widened. "AH! They're so small! AHH! My face...my voice!"
"Quiet!" A voice said, her looking. It was a guy and judging by his looks, he was an angel. "Who are you?" She asked, her little voice proving no intimidation at all, but he waved her off, "I have made it so that your powers are weaker than they were before. You are, in lesser terms, a child in all ways. I can free you but you will have to find your way back to your home."
"My...my home?" The angel nodded, "Back to that demon and his child master."
Yet again, the scene faded and another took place. Katherine saw herself as if it was from another point of view. She body was floating in the air, her clothes floating as if she were surrounded by water. What happened? Why was her body suspended in mid-air like that? Suddenly a voice came to her.
You choose your own path, Amaranth. We chose death in order to give you life. Now, the choice is yours. No one else can make it. You must walk on your own two feet...you will know the way. Just listen to your heart and it will be enough to guide you. Don't be afraid, even if the path is a dangerous one. Trust your instincts but don't be afraid to lean on others when you need to. You have the strength to get through this. No matter what you choose, remember that we will always love you.
Katherine awoke with a jolt, blinking as she looked around. Ciel was in a deep sleep, Katherine wrapping her arms around him in a hug. She looked around once more, seeing no Sebastian. Where was he? Another hug was given to Ciel, Katherine seeing Freckles come back with a new basin of water. She smiled, nodding at the boy, "You've been taking care of him, haven't you?" He only blushed, nodding afterward, "He is my friend." Katherine's smile faltered just slightly. Knowing Ciel, he was faking a friendship with this person. It hurt knowing that but it could not be helped. They were only there on business, after all. But, still, after knowing how kind this person was to Ciel, especially in his time of need, knowing the friendship was faked on Ciel's part (or at least it most-likely was, Katherine could not say it was indefinitely)...it hurt her heart.
She rose to her feet, giving Freckles a hug, "Mind watching him for a bit longer? I'd like to try and find Black." Freckles nodded, giving her a smile, "You're very kind. I like you." Katherine flashed a smile, "That should be my line."
Once out of the tent, she noticed it was still night time. Se was sure it would be sunrise in such a few short hours but she couldn't be bothered with that. Without Ciel conscious, she wanted to make sure Sebastian would behave—though she couldn't do anything to truly stop him. She had no power over him, like Ciel did.
"Return to the tent at once," William's voice came to her ears. She noticed Sebastian and he were having a discussion, Sebastian looking a little irritated. "I cannot allow you to act independently." In no time, his garden tool of a scythe was launched at Sebastian but he dodge. He was attacked again, this time grabbing the tool by its blade. Katherine's eye widened upon seeing blood drip from his hand, a good amount of it by the looks of it. "I am sorry but I have my duties as a butler. I cannot allow you to disturb my master's sleep. And, besides, you wouldn't want to cause a scene, would you? Why don't we make a deal? If you give me one hour of freedom, I will swear to never eat another soul in your territory again."
William did not look phased. "You already tainted that girl to the highest degree. I doubt you even truly care about your own master's soul. You only desire her, yet you make it so you could never devour it. It you did, you would create your own grave, if so." He retracted the blade, "Be it as it is, I cannot and will not accept your deal. You seduce your prey, bringing them into darkness by your sweet words. You're never satisfied, even though you have already lured that girl to her demise."
Katherine's eyes widened.
"Or, will I not save her in the end?" Sebastian smirked. "Please, do not make this conversation about Katherine. She was born into a world that despised her for what she was, an abomination, though I am sure you could sense that long ago. You say I have led her down the path of destruction when it is truly quite the opposite. Her parents created her, knowing her very existence meant she would die. I, however, will allow her to live."
"Your words are only for tempting a soul to their demise, a demonic cliché and nothing more," William turned to leave. Sebastian sighed, looking a bit bothered, "I was afraid he would say that. No matter, it seems I should find other methods of gathering information for my master, then."
Katherine noticed Sebastian's hand still bled, his voice coming to her ears, "Katherine, come out of your hiding place." She stood still, holding her breath. Sebastian spoke again, this time sounding a little irritated, "Do not make me ask you another time, Katherine." So, she wandered over, looking at the ground, nerves getting the best of her. Her eyes fixated on his wounded hand. Sebastian tilted her chin, Katherine forced to look him in the eye, "Was my kitten worried about me?"
She wanted to say "no" but she just could not force herself to do so. So, she nodded just slightly, "Why did you grab his blade like that? You could have lost a finger, or even your whole hand!" Sebastian only grinned wider, "I am pleased to know you care for me so greatly." Katherine crossed her arms, "I know what this is about. You know I had a damn good reason for being angry with you earlier! You could have let Ciel died because you were too damn busy playing 'evil butler'! I mean, who just lets their master, who is a kid, keep going when he's coughing more than he is breathing?!"
She turned away from Sebastian, the butler's arms wrapping around her form, "I will not allow my mast to die, Katherine. Rest assured that I speak the truth." Katherine sighed, "I just want us to leave this place and get him home." Sebastian removed his arms from the girl's form, "The young master wanted me to find out who the man in the picture is. He wishes to have this information before the night is over."
Katherine nodded, "Well, we can't leave the circus, so how are you going to do that?"
"I have a few ways," Sebastian spoke softly. "Your mind seems elsewhere, Katherine." Katherine looked down at his hand, "You should get that at least cleaned off. We don't need people thinking you hurt anyone." Sebastian seemed to pay no mind to the injury or the dried blood upon his skin, Katherine rolling her eyes, "Fine, I will clean it for you, then." She pulled off his torn glove, wiping away the blood as to not re-open the wound. However, she did, though Sebastian never flinched once. Obviously, this wound did not hurt in the slightest. The stench of his blood came to her senses, the demon butler noticing Katherine's eyes began to glow. "Am I tempting you, my kitten?" he mused. She avidly shook her head, "No. Why?"
"You're eyes tell me different," he smirked, wiping some of the blood from his hand upon her lips, the taste going to Katherine's taste buds. Her eyes glowed even brighter. Sebastian suddenly became aware of something, "Katherine, how have you been feeling lately?" She looked at the ground, "Fine. Just been having some weird dreams, nothing more."
"I believe you have not been honest with me," Sebastian said with a disappointed tone, Katherine looking at him, wiping off the blood he had placed on her lips, "I have not." He placed more on them, this time placing his finger inside her mouth. Forcing her mouth to stay shut. Her eyes widened, Sebastian's eyes noticing her orbs began glowing fiercely upon tasting his demonic essence. "You desire my blood, I see. I am not certain I should be impressed or upset with how great you have been at keeping this a secret from me."
Katherine removed his hand from her face, "Big deal, I like the taste of your blood. I am sure you would like mine, so I don't see the fuss." Sebastian pinned Katherine against the building behind them, Katherine's eyes wide, the butler looking deep into her eyes, "I crave more than your blood my dear. Ever since the night we were intimate I have been craving you, my dear. That night seemed like a mere tease and I desire to be teased again and again." He released the grip he had on her, still keeping hold of her form, "However, ever since then, I have noticed you have not been the same. You seem to be slowly getting weaker and weaker. I must wonder, did you get a taste of my own soul that night? By just getting a mere drop of my blood, your eyes glow with desire, wanting more of it. If you did get a taste of my soul, I would be happy to give you another satisfying time."
Even if she tried, Katherine could not diminish the blush that stained her cheeks. Luckily, it was night. "I don't know if I 'tasted' anything like that because I have never had a soul touch my palette," Katherine glared at Sebastian, trying to wriggle out of his grasp but to no avail. "Perhaps when we arrive back at the townhouse, we can enjoy another night all to ourselves and I can see if I can allow you to taste such a thing?" Katherine blushed at Sebastian's words. In other words, he was saying when they got back they would have sex. That single thoughts caused all sorts of naughty things to enter her mind. "Let me go!"
"I do so enjoy it when you play the dominate one in this relationship," Sebastian smirked, the butler speaking once more, "But, we both know you enjoy being submissive so much more." Katherine's cheeks doubled the amount of redness that was there before, her struggling to now slap the demon, "Don't say that type of stuff out in public!"
Sebastian only smirked, pulling Katherine all the more closer, her back pressed against his chest. His hands roamed her body sensually, them trailing and caressing her every curve, Katherine's blush deepening, "Come on, my kitten, we both know you enjoy this sort of touch." Katherine tried to pull away, "We are outside, or have you forgotten?" Sebastian pulled her against him, his hips pressing into her, "That makes it all the more exciting, my dear. The feel of hiding our voices and touch from bystanders makes for quite the romantic thrill. Now, let me make it even more thrilling." Katherine then felt something she had never felt from Sebastian—the feeling of his teeth gently grazing against the curve of her neck. The feel of it sent chills down her spine and she fought to keep a moan from escaping her lips. If anyone was out and about, she did not want them to hear such a thing—definitely not.
"What's wrong?" Katherine's eyes widened upon hearing Joker's voice. But, it didn't sound like he was talking to her or Sebastian. "Can't 'ee sleep?"
Katherine placed her hand over Sebastian's mouth, wanting to keep his nearly-lewd words to a silent halt. She immediately regretted that choice when she felt his teeth nip at the skin of her palm, her pulling away as a shriek nearly escaped. Sebastian only gave an innocent to her glare. She turned away, looking at Joker. Beside him was that tamer, Beast. "Let's stop this. We have this circus. I know we can make a living!" She sounded desperate. Joker looked as if he gave her a sad gaze, treating as if he cared for her affectionately. But, something made Katherine believe otherwise. She just could not like this guy—she wondered if he was behind the missing kids, then. Beast's tone also told her something...the girl loved Joker. They were together for a long time, so it wasn't hard to believe.
"Over the hills and far away, eh?" His voice showed no loving emotion like how Beast's had. "We can't, and I ain't got no time to talk about it." Joker left, Beast looking at the ground in sadness. Katherine felt her heart go out to Beast. She wasn't the biggest fan of the animal tamer but she felt bad for her. Heart ache was nothing to smile about. Sebastian watched the scene with little interest, "How pitiful...but I suppose I can find out who owns the signet ring by questioning one of the first-stringers."
Katherine understood where he was coming from. Beast would be the best to go after, especially right now. She was weak. She could spill the information in no time if someone asked the right questions.
"It would only take but a few moments of being alone with her and I could have the information needed so that the young master can return to the warmth of his town house," Sebastian spoke, Katherine looking at him. A glare immediately formed on her face upon seeing the sly grin plastered on the butler.
"I don't want you near her, got that?" Katherine glared at Sebastian. The demon look surprised at the venom in her voice, a sly grin coming to his face moments after, "Is that jealousy I hear?" Katherine snapped her head the other direction, "No."
Sebastian grinned, "My kitten knows how I feel seeing her lie straight to my face." Katherine glanced at him, his eyes glowing in excitement, excitement that he did not even bother to hide in the slightest. She pulled away from him, trying her best to be strong-willed. Inside, though, this emotion she was seeing in Sebastian's eyes, almost as if he was staring down at his prey, made her feel as if her insides were turning to mush.
"I will get this information without leaving Beast even worse than she already is. Knowing you, you would do something perverted, saying you had the justified right as you were only obeying your master's order." Sebastian gave an impressed look. It would seem Katherine knew him well, or at least well enough. He gave a nod, "Very well, I shall leave this to you. However, I do not believe you will get answers without doing a bit of prying, my kitten. She is softened up but may require little more softening before speaking of such matters."
"I will worry about that, not you. Now, go. I can't talk to you and her at the same time." Katherine began to leave her hiding spot, Sebastian speaking, "Is my girl giving me an order when I clearly stated upon our first meeting that I only obey my master and he alone?" Katherine blinked, looking at Sebastian with a nervous expression, "Well...consider obeying my order is still achieving what you were ordered." With that, Katherine left, leaving Sebastian with a wide smirk.
"Very well said, very well said indeed."
Okay, then! I am back from Sebastian's closet of furriness. *covered in cat hair*

So, never hesitate to give them!
