Chapter 35 - Blonsky Does Seattle
"Unknown male, cardiac arrest. ETA ten to fifteen minutes, people. Make sure you got coffee on too, Barbara, cuz this is my last call of the night honey."
The driver of the ambulance looked at where their passenger, the man they picked up off of the streets near the pay phone, as the two paramedics tried to revive him. One of them took two defibrillators, and looked over at his partner.
"Shocking at two hundred again, Andy." He said. "Stand clear."
"Standing clear." The other paramedic, Andy, responded.
The paramedic rubbed the defibrillators together, and let off a "Clear!" before making contact between Blonsky's exposed chest and the pads. Blonsky's body jerked as two hundred bolts coursed through him, before he went still again.
The paramedic known as Andy cursed. "Still no sign of any output here, Eamonn."
"Okay, okay." The other paramedic, Eamonn, said as he rubbed the defibrillators together again. "These things happen. Take it easy. Shocking at three-sixty. Stand clear."
With his partner's to-go, Eamonn touched the defibrillators against Blonsky's chest with the same results. They watched helplessly as the man's held lolled to the side, dangling over the gurney.
"Still nothing, boss. This guy's definitely on the way out." Andy remarked. "What the hell was he on back there?"
"Doesn't matter. Just get a line in him and check his papillary reflexes." Eamonn turned towards the driver, yelling. "Joe, any chance you can get this thing doing more than ten miles-an-hour?"
"Блядь!"
The paramedics jumped when Blonsky yelled out, shooting up and thrashing about wildly. His eyes were opened, and were glazed over with yellow, spreading from his irisis to his veins, pulping the red flow with a yellow material.
"What in God's name...?" Eamonn muttered, before moving in with Andy to restrain the flailing man. "Hold him down and get some Haloperidol in him, Andy! Freakin' lunatics gonna do himself an injury here!"
Andy nodded and grabbed said medication, but as he tried to insert the syringe into Blonsky's arm, the deranged man started thrashing around harder, and it became difficult to hold him down.
"I can't restrain him!" Andy said. "The guy's stronger than he looks... UMF!"
Blonsky's foot kicked out and hit Andy right in the face, knocking out a few of his teeth and bashing him against the wall, knocking him out.
"Jesus!" Eamonn said as he tried to reach for the syringe that had fallen on the floor.
Up front, the driver, Joe, let off a curse as the ambulance jerked around, and he tried to keep it going straight. "What are you doing?! What's going on back there?!"
In the back, the two paramedics were now broken heaps on the floor, battered and bruise. Blonsky writhed around violently on the gurney, grunting and yelling in pain. He arched his spine briefly before lurching forward, the fabric of his clothing ripping as his spinal plates extended out of his skin, creating a reptilian-like dorsal extension. He grit his teeth as his body changed and his bones snapped, and his muscles suddenly started growing and changing in coloration, turning from a deathly pale to a sickly yellow. He exploded out of his clothes, letting out a yell that quickly turned into a furious bellow.
Outside, cars made distance between them and the ambulance which appeared to be swerving out of control. Then, the ambulance leared to the side before flipping nose first through the air, and colliding with the pavement. The sirens from the vehicle slowly died down, followed shortly by a large, malformd yellow fist punching through. The clawed paw tore through the ambulence like paper, and a large form slowly stepped out. Eyes looking over the cityscape of Seattle, the Abomination growled before rearing his head back.
"RRAAARRGH!"
ooooo
The Triskelion was bustling with activity. Agents and personnel were running wildly, preparing quinjets and various other forms of aerial support for the incoming excursion. Armed soldiers bustled towards the hangers, getting into helicopters and quinjets and taking off as quickly as possible.
In one particular room in the Triskelion, a pre-teen boy, no older than sixteen, stood in front of the mirror. Taking a deep breath, Danny Fenton looked himself over. He was in his ghost form, his hair snow white and eyes glowing green as usual. What was different this time, though, was his garb. It was similar to the hazmat suit he originally wore, but considering how uptight S.H.I.E.L.D. was, Danny was required to make a costume change. He was now wearing a white and black combat suit, which unlike his original hazmat suit was more geared towards combat. His traditional 'D' symbol was still there, plastered on the chest as always, but there was also a S.H.I.E.L.D. label on his bicep. Danny couldn't complain, as it looked quite cool.
After joining S.H.I.E.L.D. as a specialist and Avengers initiate, things had changed greatly. On weekdays, he was the typical schoolkid who protected Amity Park from ghost attacks, which had become less frequent in the last two years. On weekends though, he worked alongside his CO, Agent Natasha Romanoff, and occasionally his fellow junior specialist, Carrie White, on a few missions. His combat experience improved, courtesy of rigorous training sessions with Natasha and, on rare occasions, the Archangel. He now had better fighting skills, and his build had increased somewhat. He had been on at least seven missions in the past few months.
But this was different. This was the first time he was going up against another meta.
Danny jumped slightly when a voice spoke over the loudspeaker. "Primary team to hangar thirteen, ready for immediate dust-off."
"You heard him." Danny turned to see the Black Widow standing in the open doorway. "Let's get moving."
Danny nodded. "Yes, ma'am."
ooooo
"Secondary teams to hangar twelve, tertiary teams to hangars one though eleven..."
The voice continued to boom over the loudspeaker, but Danny ignored it as he followed Natasha to hanger thirteen, where a quinjet was waiting for them. Various agents helped load a number of crates loaded with supplies into it, but one figure was standing at the edge of the quinjet's open loading ramp, a figure Danny recognized instantly.
In the past year since the Battle of New York, Carrie had let her hair grow back in, though it wasn't as long as it was during Chamberlain. Going below her shoulders, her hair was tied back into a ponytail, and she was wearing a tactical suit that resembled a black jumpsuit with blue lines running along the sides, a belt similar to the one Natasha wore minus the Black Widow insignia, and a black leather vest. She wore fingerless gloves, and she had her arms folded with an unreadable expression on her face. But after working with her for quite sometime, Danny had come to learn how to read her expressions. She was nervous.
"Carrie!" Danny yelled, jogging over to her.
She looked at him and smiled a little. "Hi, Danny. They called you in, too?"
Danny nodded. "Yup. My first mission involving someone who's not a ghost or terrorist. Truth be told I'm actually freaking out a bit here."
"Wise up, Fenton." Natasha said as she walked up behind him with a smirk on her face. "White Queen here survived toe-to-toe with the Hulk during the Loki crisis. Blonsky's no different."
"You mean, besides being a psychotic madman?"
The trio turned, and saw a metallic figure walking towards them. The figure was wearing a suit of armor identical to Iron Man's, but the chest plate was blue with a white star in the center. Blue lined boots and shoulders. Red and white trim were around the knees, abs, forearms, and hands. A large mini-gun was mounted on the upper back. The helmet opened up, revealing a face that Natasha recognized.
"Rhodey?"
"Hey, Agent Romanoff." The Iron Patriot greeted with a nod. "Miss me?"
"I'm just surprised to see you." Natasha said. "Fury never said anything about you coming in. Not that I have a problem with it."
"Blonsky is technically a prisoner of the U.S. government. As a close consultant of both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers Initiative, I've been ordered to assist by any means necessary."
"We'll take any help we can get." Natasha said. "We're low on numbers at the moment. Banner is in Seattle right now with his cousin, giving us intel on Blonsky's activities. Fury's still trying to contact the others. But between the five of us, hopefully we can make some leeway."
"The five of us?" Rhodes said, brows furrowing in confusion.
"That's right, Colonel." Steve Rogers, fully prepped as Captain America, announced as he stepped out of the quinjet, shield in hand. Natasha nodded at him while Carrie offered a friendly smile. Rhodey and Danny's eyes grew wide as dinner plates, both shocked and amazed to see the legendary super soldier standing right in front of them.
"You... you're... C-Cap...!" Danny stuttered.
Rhodes immediately saluted. "Captain Rogers, sir. It's an honor to meet you. You're an inspiration."
"You're an inspiration yourself, Colonel." Steve said, walking down to meet his teammates for this endeavor. "The Iron Patriot. Love the colors."
Rhodey smiled, and glanced at Natasha.
"Hear that? The captain likes the Iron Patriot. Wish Tony were here to see it."
"Somehow I doubt he'd share your sentiment." Natasha said with a smirk of her own.
"He'd have a cow, maybe." Carrie said quietly, glancing over at Danny, and smiled bemusedly at the look of pure amazement on his face, seeing one of his childhood idols standing before him in the flesh. Steve looked over at the two teenagers, nodding.
"Carrie."
"Mr. Rogers." Carrie nodded back. "It's good to see you again."
Steve smiled, and looked over at Danny. He offered a handshake. "Danny Fenton. I've heard a lot of things about you, son. You've done some impressive things for your age."
Danny didn't shake his hand, he just kept looking at Steve with wide eyes. Steve started to look worried, and glanced over at the other three. Carrie was close to laughing.
Finally, Danny broke the silence. "Can I have your autograph?"
At that, Carrie actually did laugh. Steve took the hand away with an amused expression, while Natasha sighed. "Great. Another Coulson..."
Natasha quickly gained a look of authority, and looked over the four standing before her. "Alright. Here's the ploy. We've got a highly dangerous man gone AWOL out there and we're the heavy hitters for this operation. We need to start putting some kind of plan together, less we'll get thrashed the moment we step foot in that city."
"Scared, Agent Romanoff?" Rhodey joked lightly.
"Cautious, Colonel Rhodes." Natasha countered.
"The plan couldn't be simpler, Natasha." Steve said to her with a smirk. "We just hit him until he drops."
ooooo
In the primary command center, various techs stood around terminals, keeping track on all S.H.I.E.L.D. and military activity. Nick Fury stood in front of a large monitor displaying Seattle, Washington. He grimaced as he watched explosions and fires wreak the metropolis, the skies lighting up from the flames as smoke slithered from the streets and into the sky. Agent Hill walked up beside him, a look of shock spread across her face as she looked at the mayhem on the screen.
"Oh, my God." Hill muttered.
Fury hummed in agreement. Hill, her eyes not leaving the screen, said, "The specialists are nearing the area. They should be groundside in moments."
"And... the asset?"
Hill's lips thinned as she looked down. "Dr. Mandrakis just finished the finishing touches. It should be arriving in ten minutes."
"Good."
"This might not be the best idea, sir. Sending that... thing in."
"We'll see." Fury pressed down on the terminal in front of him."Agent Romanoff, have you arrived?"
ooooo
In the cockpit of the quinjet, Natasha sat at the pilot's chair, looking down at the burning cityscape that was Seattle. Carrie sat in the passenger's seat next to her. She wore a look of revulsion, of both the carnage and the memories it brought of Chamberlain. But not even the death and destruction she caused was this senseless.
"Affirmative, boss." Natasha said into the com. "Definitely Blonsky. It's like Harlem. Only much, much worse."
"According to the sat-pics, he's murdered dozens of people, drunk a truck full of beer and, right now, looks like he's doing something rather inhumane to a fat corpse." Fury said through the com, disgust dripping from his voice. "You imagine what he's gonna do when he catches Banner and that cousin of his. Banner may be able to hold his own, but there will be innocent civilians caught in the crossfire."
"Can't have that." Natasha muttered. "Have you figured out how he managed to escape?"
"We've gone over the security recordings from the Alaskan penitentiary multiple times." Fury said, sounding annoyed. "The recording just shows the guard watching over Blonsky's cell getting his head twisted around and then dropping dead. Then, the cell just opens up on his own and Blonsky walks right out."
Natasha frowned. "The man's neck just snapped on its own?"
"We're still trying to figure it out Agent Romanoff. It could be a lot of things. Ghosts, cloaking technology, hacking. I don't know. But we'll keep you posted."
"Yes, sir."
In the back of the quinjet, Steve and Danny stood, hands gripping the support rails. Danny shook his head. "I still can't believe he'd turn himself back into that thing just to cause trouble for no good reason. What kind of person would follow a mindset like that?"
"Blonsky's a mess. Whatever kind of soldier he was before died the moment General Ross pumped him with that psycho soldier crap." Fury said over the com.
"Still," Natasha said as she took a small syringe from her belt, examining it and the blue fluid inside. "At least this antidote Banner left for us seems kosher enough... right down to the little vibranium-tipped needle."
Outside, the Iron Patriot flew alongside the quinjet. He tuned into their conversation through his suit, and offered his own words. "All completely useless of course, unless we get close enough to inject him. Any word back from the other Avengers?"
"Agent Soladat Wrekk is currently in Peru with her team as per orders. Xegh Hikesh and Agent Clint Barton are currently off the grid, as per orders. Darcy Lewis hasn't responded to any of our calls, and Mr. Stark... well, I think you get the picture." Fury listed off.
Danny huffed in exasperation. "Terrific. So we're effectively on our own out here, right?"
"Five, and potentially six, against one is still pretty good odds, Danny." Steve said encouragingly to the half-ghost. "Besides, I haven't lost a fight since 1943 and I've no intention of losing one now."
Danny couldn't help but smile at the captain's enthusiasm, and took a deep breath when Natasha announced that they were descending now.
ooooo
"BANNER!"
From inside the restaurant, Bruce flinched as the booming voice echoed from outside. He and Jennifer retreated deeper into the building for refuge, and could here the chaos brewing outside. Jennifer was nearly hysterical, not understanding what was going on.
Outside, civilians ran and screamed as the Abomination rampaged through the streets, mowing through cars, buildings, and people as he made his way towards the restaurant where he knew the man he despised so much was hiding. Spotting the building, the Abomination let out a roar as he jumped towards it, gripping the sides as he started scaling it. The force of the collision causes the windows to shatter into glass. Inside, Bruce pulled his screaming cousin away from the flying pieces of glass.
"What is that?" Jennifer asked loudly. "What is that?!"
Bruce ignored her, and brought his cell phone up to his ear. His teeth were gritting as he furiously spoke into it. "Good god, Fury! He's found us! That deranged son of a bitch figured out where Jen and I were eating!"
"I'LL SMEAR YOUR GUTS ALL OVER THE CONCRETE, BANNER! YOU'LL BE NOTHING BUT A LITTLE STAIN WHEN I'M DONE WITH YOU!" Blonsky roared loudly. "THEN I'LL TAKE YOUR LITTLE COUSIN AND SHOW HER HOW TO HAVE A SWELL TIME!"
Jennifer cried when she heard that, and clung to her cousin hysterically. Putting one arm around her, Banner nearly lost control at Fury's words from the phone. "I can't let the Other Guy loose here! Not with my cousin here... What do you mean 'sit tight'?! Can you hear what that lunatic's saying he's going to do to us? I wan't the others down here now, Fury! I wan't every freakin' superweapon you've got!"
The entire wall of the floor they were on was torn violently out, revealing the Abomination in all his hideousness. He grinned maliciously down at Bruce and Jennifer, the former who looked up with a glare while the latter whimpered.
"I'VE BEEN WAITING A LONG TIME FOR THIS, BA-"
A green whisp suddenly flew into vision, and Blonsky was carried away from the restauraunt and towards the building on the opposite end of the street. Danny, his legs turned into a ghostly tail, slammed the Abomination into the building, sending bits of glass and rubble raining down onto the streets.
"Oh for God's sake, shut up Blonsky!" He said. "You're giving the military a bad name."
Down below, various armed S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in uniform started clearing the streets below, one of them shouting out orders for the others to lead the onlooking civilians to cover. "Alright, clear out! Captain America wants everything cleared from Volunteer Park to Capitol Hill! I repeat! Clear Volunteer Park to Capitol Hill so they can soften the Abomination up and deliver that antidote!"
Meanwhile, the Abomination got over his surprise and realized it was a kid who was holding him down, which only added to his rage. Letting out a roar, Blonsky kicked his foot out and nailed Danny right in the gut. It didn't hurt as much as it would a normal person, but it still hurt nonetheless. Danny was sent flying into another building, getting lodged in the large impression made from the impact. Danny groaned and rubbed his head, and then his eyes grew wide in alarm when the Abomination lunged at him.
Danny quickly turned intangible, and sunk into the building as the Abomination only hit the side of the building. The force of the impact shook the foundation, and the Abomination looked around wildly for where the brat had disappeared to. He grunted when a volley of ectoblasts struck his back, the searing hot ectoplasm burning into his durable flesh, only furthering his anger.
"LITTLE BRAT!"
The Abomination jumped at Danny, who quickly faded from sight, reappearing a few meters to the left as the Abomination leapt at nothing, colliding with a small retail store which crumbled from the impact.
Danny landed a few feet from the rubble, eyes squinting as he tried to peer through the dust. His eyes widened when Blonsky came barreling out, roaring madly. Stepping back a few feet, both Danny's hands and eyes glowed icy blue as he shot his hands out, a torrent of supernatural cold firing from his palms and enveloping Blonsky. The Abomination's advance slowed as ice started to coat his skin. Soon, Danny ceased his attack as Blonsky stopped, his body completely encased in ice.
Wearily, Danny stepped closer, examining the frozen beast. He stepped back with wide eyes as the ice started to crack, before exploding off of Blonsky's skin. With a roar, Blonsky brought his fists down on Danny, who quickly grabbed the Abomination's wrists in his hands, grunting as he tried to fight off the monster's strength.
The Abomination growled as he tried to force his fists down on the ghost boy and crush him, and Danny grit his teeth as he felt himself being slowly pushed into the concrete, his feet sinking into the ground. With a yell, Danny shoved Blonsky away, and put his hands together, ectoplasmic energy channeling into them as he brought them out, firing a powered ectoblast that struck the Abomination in the chest. The blast sent Blonsky flying into a nearby building, lodging him the side. He grunted when Danny flew at him, driving him through the building and out the other side.
"Have a nice flight!" Danny tossed Blonsky into the air, following it with another ectoblast that furthered the Abomination's ascent.
Mid-flight, another form crashed into Blonsky, carrying him away from the area.
"Cheesy pickup line aside, nice work, Phantom." Rhodey said as he carried Blonsky away.
"Thanks, Colonel."
"Alright. Fury, I need a big, empty building to slam Blonsky into." Rhodes said through the com. "What can you do for me?"
Fury's voice broke through the communications line. "Evacuation crews are clearing everything within a three mile radius, Colonel. Give me ten seconds and I'll punch up a zip code for you."
"Ten more seconds and this lunatic will have peeled his way through my G-string." Rhodey bit out harshly as Blonsky, upon regaining his wits, started bashing his fists furiously into the Iron Patriot's armor. "I need something now, Director!"
"King Street Station has just been evacuated. You're good to go."
"Thank you."
Moments later, Iron Patriot and the Abomination crashed through the ceiling of King Street Station, colliding violently with the polished floor of the train station's well-decorated interior. Dust and rubble flew up as the crater from the impact shook the building.
ooooo
Danny descended down by Natasha, who was directing the various field agents that had just finished evacuating the city streets. Carrie, who was standing near her, looked at Danny and nodded at him. Danny smiled back, while Natasha spouted out orders.
"Okay, Iron Patriot just bought us five minutes to prepare for Cap's descent." She announced. "Fire Team Twelve, I want those vehicles cleared on the left hand side. He's gonna need a lot of room."
Danny looked at the Black Widow quizzically. "What's he going to do?"
ooooo
The Iron Patriot ducked away from a punch from the Abomination, lifting his hand up and firing a repulsor blast at Blonsky's face, which did little to deter the deranged creature.
"Rhodes, this is Fury." Fury said from the com. "W're minus visual for thirty seconds. Give me a sit-rep, man. You okay in there?"
"Are you kidding me?" Rhodey yelled as he unloaded his mini-gun on the Abomination, followed by a number of repulsor blasts. "First it takes eight minutes to get this suit on, then it takes twelve minutes for everyone to launch, and now the sights in my suit are knocked six inches to the left..."
He grunted when the Abomination suddenly lunged forward, slamming Rhodey into the ground with one large, inhuman hand wrapped around his helmet.
"SHUT UP, METALHEAD!"
"Rhodes? Rhodes?!" Fury's voice blarred from the com.
Rhodes struggled to break free, unable to target his mini-gun as Blonsky's fist was covering the optical sensors in his helmet. Blonsky barred his teeth. "LITTLE MAN SMELLS LIKE CANNED MEAT! I WANNA KNOW IF HE TASTED LIKE CANNED MEAT, TOO!"
Another voice came in on the com. This time it was Natasha. "Rhodey, for the love of God, what's happening down there?"
Rhodey didn't get to answer, as his helmet was violently ripped off, and the Abomination tossed it to the side. Blonsky grunted and glared at Blonsky, who looked at him sadistically. "I'M FEALING HUNGRY, LITTLE MAN."
Rhodey spat in the Abomination's face. "Eat this, moron!"
Blonsky looked down in confusion when the glowing light on the Iron Patriot's chest lit up brightly, before rippling waves of sonic vibrations exploded from the suit. The Abomination roared and backed away, putting his hands over his sensitive ears as the sound waves assaulted his eardrums. Blood started dripping from his ears, and he collapsed to his knees as the attack stopped.
Blonsky, dazed and sick, lurched forward and actually vomited all over the floor. Rhodey looked away in disgust and tried to back up, distancing himself from the Abomation.
"Fury, this is a nightmare. I'm on twenty-five percent power and Stark's mini-sonic cannon will only slow him down for another few seconds." He said. "If I empty my reserves at him, can you cover me long enough for support to juice again?"
"Back-up is ready and waiting, Colonel. Just hit him with whatever your packing, super-trooper."
Natasha, Danny, and Carrie all ran towards the station, all stopping abrubtly when two figures flew out of the ceiling. Mid-flight, Rhodey dropped Blonsky, who fell and collided with a bus, which exploded. Rhodey made a slow descent, before landing on a building, his power now dead as he collapsed on his back with a sigh that was riddle with self-loathing for his inability to finish the mission.
"I've done all I can do, Agent Romanoff." He said into the com. "That distraction you mentioned? I think now's the time. Fury wants Blonsky up on forty-second and fifth ASAP. You copy?"
"Roger that, Colonel." Natasha said, glancing at Danny and Carrie. "You two cover me in case things go wrong."
Danny nodded. "Got it."
Carrie nodded. "Okay."
Sneaking through the piled up traffic, Natasha made her way to the bus, standing on top of a taxi. Whistling loudly, she caught Blonsky's attention. He looked at her with a dazed expression.
"Hey, Blonsky!" To the surprise of Danny and Carrie, Natasha unzipped the front of her suit and pulled it down, revealing her breasts to Blonsky. Carrie covered her mouth and Danny's face heated up as he looked away in embarrassment. Blonsky's eyes widened, appearing mesmerized by the sight. Fighting back the scathing remark in favor of a fake, flirtatious eye flutter, Natasha gave a smirk. "You think Pamela Anderson's got a rack as nice as these?"
A perverted smile slowly crept to Blonsky's face, and Natasha quickly rezipped her suit and ran as the Abomination started chasing her. She leapt over cars and slid through whatever opening she could, not looking back as the Abomination simply plowed through them all, cars flying in different directions as he trailed after her, his tongue lolling out of his mouth like a hungry dog.
"Really? Really, Romanoff? A master of stealth, espionage, and distractions, and your big idea was a freaking Mardi Gras special?" Fury's incredulous voice came over the com.
Natasha just rolled her eyes. "Blonsky's a child. Children will go for even the slightest flaunting of one's ass. Besides, it worked, didn't it?"
"Like a dream." Danny's voice came up over the com, followed by what sounded like a slap. "Ow! Carrie!"
"Save it." Natasha said over the com. She cursed slightly as a car landed inches in font of her, and she barely leapt around it as Blonsky neared. "Cap, can you here me? Status?"
"I'm almost there, ETA one minute."
"Well hurry it up! This guy's relent-"
Natasha yelped as a hand gripped her leg, and she was lifted up off the ground as Blonsky held her upside down. He grinned at her, and Natasha glared as she slapped his hand away when it reached for the zipper of her suit. It was followed by a kick to the face, causing Blonsky to drop her. As she slipped away, Blonsky grunted as an SUV slammed into him, smashing him into a building. Grunting, he pushed the vehicle away, and looked around to see where it had come form.
His gaze settled on Carrie, who was marching towards him with her fists clenched. With a wave of her hand, a taxi flew at him, and he quickly batted it away.
He growled at her and prepared to attack, but she reached her hand out again, and Blonsky gasped and paused as veins popped out from the sides of his head. He gripped his skull and slowly fell to his knees, and Carrie stepped closer to him, both hands outstretched as she overloaded his senses telepathically. She grit her teeth as she could feel him trying to break free.
This guy, no matter how mad he was, had more thought control than the Hulk did. With a yell, Blonsky shattered Carrie's psychic hold, enough to knock her on her back. She gasped as Blonsky stepped over her and brought his fists down to crush her. Quickly lifting her hands up, Carrie felt an invisible force push back at her slightly as she halted Blonsky's attack telekinetically. Blonsky blinked in surprise as an invisible force halted his attack, and Carrie grunted and fought as she slowly extended her hands out, and Blonsky felt himself being pushed back as well.
"Mr. Rogers?" Carrie said weakly over the com. "S-Steve? Are you there?"
"I'm here. I'm coming in. Clear out now, Carrie."
Carrie complied, and let out a yell as she pushed Blonsky away, sending him flying through the air and crashing into a clearing a few meters away. He collided with the ground, and slowly got up, rubbing his head. Then, a shadow fell over him, and Blonsky gave a confused 'ohuh?' as he looked up, and his eyes grew wide as a tank, yes, a tank, fell out of the sky and crashed into him, crushing him.
The collision sent a pillar of dirt, fire, and rubble into the sky, and Carrie, who was watching from nearby, stood up slowly in awe.
Within the tank, Captain America gave a smirk. "Shock absorbers are working beautifully, Fury. Tell the boys in the tech division they did a bang-up job."
"Just watch your rear end there, Cap. Eye-in-the-sky heat tracers are picking up movement beneath that underside of yours."
"Relax, sir. Everything's going exactly as planned..."
Or so he thought. Steve blinked and looked back as a fist shot up out of the underside of his tank. In a split second, the entire tank was ripped in half, and Steve quickly drew his shield as he jumped back. The Abomination, expression feral, held the two severed halves of the tank and looked at Captain America with the intention to kill, but Steve quickly jumped forward, delivering an uppercut to Blonsky's jaw with his shield. Spit flew from Blonsky's mouth as his head reared back from the strike, and felt his nose break slightly when the captain drove his fist into his face. He doubled over in pain when Steve nailed his foot right into his crotch, and then delivered a second uppercut with his shield. As Blonsky was dazed, Steve kicked his leg out underneath Blonsky, downing him. Blonsky groaned, head rolling back slightly.
From the com, Danny's voice rang through. "Did you just take out the Abomination?"
"Blonsky's not the only one around here with a super soldier serum pumping through his heart, son." Steve said, and quickly took out a needle filled with the antidote. He positioned the needle at Blonsky's throat. "Now get me a med-team pronto because this little guy isn't going to be in the best of shape after I stick the antidote in-"
"NO!"
Steve yelled as Blonsky shot his hand out and gripped his wrist, twisting it, causing him to drop the syringe. "AARGH!"
Blonsky looked at Rogers in rage, and crushed the syringe beneath his foot.
Steve tried and failed to pull his hand away, and lifted his shield up when Blonsky prepared to nail him in the face. A loud clang rang out as the shield took the brunt of the attack. Grunting in annoyance, Blonsky just grabbed the shield and tossed it aside. He punched Steve in the fist, breaking his jaw and started beating him repeatedly.
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DIFFERENT, BUT YOU'RE JUST AS BAD AS THE REST OF THEM, ROGERS!" Blonsky growled. "NOW, I'M GONNA SMASH OPEN YOUR HEAD AND SUCK OUT THE YOLK, YOU UGLY PIECE OF CRAP!"
ooooo
Back at the Triskelion, Fury cursed as he watched how the fight was playing out. Hill bit her lip and looked at Fury. "What now, sir? Even with Banner's notes, tech figure they're still a hundred and twenty minutes away from putting together another antidote."
Fury looked down with a glare. "The most we can do is how our boys and girls can take him down, or at least hold him off until the asset arrives."
Whatever Hill was going to say next was interrupted when one of the techs at one of the monitors spoke up. "Director Fury, there's some kind of atmospheric electrical disturbance moving rapidly towards the city. It looks like..."
The woman was cut off when a loud crackle of thunder emenated from the monitor, and everyone looked in surprise as a bolt of lighting shot out from the clouds above, moving past the Space Needle and flying towards Blonsky. The bolt struck the Abomination in the chest and sent him flying away from Cap.
"What the hell?" Fury said.
Hill looked with wide eyes. "Was that Thordis?"
ooooo
Blonsky was just about to bash Captain America's brains in, when a bolt of lightning hit him and sent him flying away into the streets. He crashed into the pavement, and looked up just in time to see a hammer, crackling with electricity, bash into his skull. The strike drove him into the concrete, and was followed by a kick to the face that knocked him on his back.
Darcy looked down at the Abomination with a smirk, and then pressed her finger against the com that she held onto after the Battle of New York. "Yo, Fury. You there, pirate?"
"Lewis. Good to see you got my call."
"Yeah, sorry about that. I was getting bagels at Panera when I got the call." She paused when she saw Blonsky getting up. "Hold up just a sec."
Channeling electricity in her hammer, Darcy lifted Mjolnir above her head and brought it down on Blonsky's head again, driving him further into the ground. Rubble flew up, and another strike sent torrents of electricity through the ground that actually caused it to ripple, creating a small earthquake that send cars and various other objects flying into the air a few feet before crashing into the ground.
Darcy looked down at Blonsky as the smoke cleared, and gave a smirk. "Well, your jaws probably broken, a few ribs are cracked and one of your lungs might be punctured. Tasted enough of meow-meow yet, Blonsky?"
A hideous smile slowly worked its way to Blonsky's face, blood dripping from his mouth. "NAH. YOUR HAMMER JUST MADE ME A LITTLE MORE EXCITED, GOLDILOCKS."
A fist struck Darcy in the stomach, and she was sent flying up into the sky, Mjolnir falling from her hand at plummeting to the ground. From below, Natasha, Danny, and Carrie watched as she sailed overhead before crashing into the distance.
"Oh, boy." Danny said, before clenching his fists. "We got to stop this now!"
Natasha tried to stop him, but Danny already flew off. Carrie watched him leave, and looked to Natasha. "This isn't going well. What do we do?"
Natasha frowned, and looked down in thought. "We need something bigger. Something to even the odds a bit."

On the outskirts of Seattle, the evacuated civilians watched from safety as the city shook from the battle. Children ooed and awed as they caught glimpses of the fight, amazed as the lightning bolt that delivered Thordis to the battle appeared. A few nerds were even recording it with their cell phones.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents escorted more civilians to the crowd, among of which was Bruce and Jennifer. Hearing the commotion from the city, Bruce looked to see that more explosions were appearing every minute. Cursing to himself, he looked at his cousin and gently set her down in a tent.
"I'll be right back. There's something I need to do."
Bruce started to leave, and Jennifer blinked. "Bruce?"
Bruce looked to her. "I'll be back. Just whatever you do, stay here."
Bruce ran off, and Jennifer stood up and tried to stop him. "Bruce! Bruce what are you doing?!"

Fury continued to watch the fight, eye narrowing as he saw how it was playing out. They were getting pulverized out there.
Hill put her hand up to her own com, eyes widening before she looked at Fury. "Sir, the asset has arrived."
Fury gave a sigh of relief. "Okay. Let's see if all that work has payed off."

Steve watched as Danny was punched into a taxi, a bruise forming on his face as he gripped his stomach in pain. Danny groaned, standing up.
"You okay, kid?" Steve asked.
Danny just gave a weak smile, and a thumbs up.
A loud thud brought the pair's attention to the Abomination, who landed in front of them, and slowly edged towards them, ready to bash their brains in, when...
Out of nowhere, several blasts of energy slammed into the Abomination, sending the malformed psycho-soldier crashing into the ground. Steve and Danny looked in surprise, when they heard what sounded like the prepulsion generators in Iron Man's suit. The Abomation flailed about as he regained his wits. Where did that come from? Pulling himself to his feet, he looked and cocked his head in surprise at what he saw.
Danny and Steve saw it, too, and their mouths dropped in both shock, and slight fear. Steve's grip on his shield tightened.
Nearby, Natasha and Carrie ran up to join them, when they saw the newcomer as well. Carrie gasped and stepped back, while Natasha blinked.
"No way..."
Descending slowly through a pair of implanted prepulsors, a Chitauri drone landed slowly in front of Blonsky. Only, this Chitauri was much different. It had the same plasma blaster mounted on its hand, but there were multiple other differences. It lacked a helmet, instead equipped with a glowing blue visor that covered it left eye, apparently some kind of targeting device. It was covered in various new forms of armor plating, silver in color, and on the chest was a plate that appeared to be able to open up. What was inside was unknown. On both its shoulders were two rocket launchers, and on its other wrist was some kind of gauntlet. It stared Blonsky down without expression.

At the Triskelion, one of the techs looked to Fury. "Sir, Item 33 is now combat ready."
Fury nodded. "Good. On my mark, attack... Mark."
And there's the first, and longest half, of the battle against the Abomination. I hope it was satisfying. I basically tried to make the team's attacks seem more coordinated and militaristic in nature. Didn't work out so well, but I'm still happy with it. Danny Phantom finally makes the appearance everyone's been wanting. Hope that was satisfying. Next chapter, we finally get to see what kind of upgrades S.H.I.E.L.D. has given Item 33.
Now, Carrie's new suit is sort of similar to that of Bobbi Morse's from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, but with a vest over it. Don't expect her to stay with it for long. Even she has preferences when it comes to fashion.
Thanks for reading. Later :)
