Brightclaw237: Next chapter, I have been working hard to make a lot of chapters to try and not have many cliffhangers. I hate to keep all that like reading this in suspense. I only own the angel-hounds.

I stay still and sniff the air, focusing all my thoughts on finding the stone pyramid. A strange scent soon enters my nose. It is musty and cryptic, but at the same time familiar. I begin to walk towards the scent, but my eyes widen as pain erupts in my shoulder. I let out a startled yelp of pain, as I look at Dino. In his left hand is a hunting knife, the blade is covered in my blood. "Dino…why?" I bark, holding my bleeding shoulder.
"To keep my family safe." Dino leers at me. "Zongazonga is after you, and once I take you to him, he will leave Dina and the others alone." Dino says, his voice as cold as ice. Dino walks over with some rope in his hand. "You have been the cause of every single attack at this tournament, and the only way to stop them, is to hand you over to Zongazonga himself. Then Joe will have his body back, and my family will be free from the likes of you!" Dino yells, kicking me to the side, and causing me to let out another startled yelp. In the shadows, I can see Skyclaw and Sunblaze cowering behind Leo. Skyclaw's eyes are wide with fear. I see Leo's eyes, and they are beyond outraged, but he remains the same. Hesitating, he silently takes off to get the others.
"You…were the…one to wound my…brother!" I snarl.
"Yeah, he was just as big a threat as you, but I could only land a small hit." Dino says. Dino uses the knife to cut the rope, and ties some around my muzzle, paws, tail, and neck. It is now impossible for me to escape without any of my defensive maneuvers, not that it would make a difference. My claws are covered up with some kind of restraints, that make my other powers completely useless. "Now I can take you to Zongazonga and assure my family's safety." Dino says, tossing out Falcon, whose expression is saddened.
"Hey look! Dino caught the wild beast!" A man shouts as Falcon flies into the city, holding me in his talons while Dino rides on his back.
"Falcon, drop her now!" Dino orders his vivosaur.
Falcon has an apologetic look on his face before dropping my body onto the hard concrete ground. My body lands with a thud, and almost all of the air in my body is forced from my lungs.
"Serves you right for trying to kill Joe and Dina!" I hear a woman shout at me.
"This isn't right, Brightclaw is a hero." A small girl says. I look over to my left and see the Fighters that I have defeated in the tournament.
"How could you do this to her!" I hear one of them shout. I see that it is Lucinda, her eyes are reddened from crying. "If it wasn't for Brightclaw, we would still be lounging around without a care in the world!" She shouts at Dino.
Dino looks at Lucinda, he glares at her. Dino then points at me and says: "This dog is nothing but a wild animal! She deserves to be captured and brought back to Joe!" Dino shouts, causing Lucinda to take a step back. "She doesn't deserve the name she has. There should only be one Brightclaw, the one who aided Hunter Storm! The boy who had saved our world!" Dino yells. My heart drops when my partner's name is said. "If this is that 'Brightclaw', then where is Hunter?!" He asks, his voice dripping with venom.
My eyes tear up, as my heart begins to break, and I let out quiet muffled whimpers. I then hear a terrified gasp. I turn my head to the sound, and see Stella and Springflame. They are both horrified when they see me all tied up, and bleeding from the shoulder. Stella's shock soon turns to anger. "Dino, how could you do this to her?" Stella asks. "After all that Brightclaw has done for you and your family!" Stella exclaims.
"I did this because I needed to protect my family from her!" Dino yells at the staff leader. "Brightclaw is always being targeted by people who want power, and that has put my family in danger because of her power!" He explains.
Springflame unties the rope that is around my muzzle, allowing me to speak. "You always had the choice to leave if you wanted to, but you never did. I taught you what I knew, and protected you like you were part of my family!" I rasp, my throat soar and dry. "You, Todd, and Dina were the ones who had asked me in the first place, to come along with my team and I." I bark. "Dina and Todd respected me for who I was, but you began to hate me for some reason! Why do you hate me, Dino?!" I growl.
Dino turns around and faces me, his face is twisted with rage. He then walks over and kicks me in the gut. I keel over as soon as he hits me in my weak spot. "I hate creatures like you!" Dino shouts. "My family was once attacked by your species! We were lucky to be alive that day!" Dino shouts. "Four years ago, there was a dog that looked just like you, especially its claws, but theirs were a jet black!" Dino explains. "Just like how yours were yesterday!" Dino shouts.
'A dog that looked like me?' I think, a dark void forming in my gut.
'Brightclaw…' Todd thinks as he sees the barely conscious canine wounded and beaten. "Dino, who did this?!" He asks, his voice heavy with worry as well as anger.
"I did, Todd." Dino growls.
Todd faces his cousin. His expression horrified and confused. "Why would you do this to Brightclaw?!" Todd gasps.
"She was a danger to us, Todd. She has always been a danger to us since the day we were attacked!" Dino shouts. "Something had to be done soon! She would have killed us if it wasn't for the true angel-hounds showing up!" Dino snaps. "She was only using us, Todd. Wanting to learn our weaknesses, and then get rid of us when we were of no use." He says, his voice dripping with venom.
I see Brightshadow in the distance from the corner of my eye, my heart swells with joy knowing that he is alright. "Sis!" He howls, running over to me. He presses his muzzle against my own. He then ties my bandana around my neck. "How in the name of Starclan could this have happened?" Brightshadow barks, tears streaming down his face. He looks at Dino, and sees the knife covered in my blood in his hand. "How could you do this to her?!" He snarls while baring his teeth. His fur standing on end, and tail lashing from side to side. My brother's usual doe brown eyes show no kindness, only hatred. Brightshadow about pounces on Dino, but Springflame stops him. "Why did you do this to her?!" He snarls, Springflame preventing my brother from laying a paw on Dino.
"I did what had to be done to protect my family from a wild beast. You're lucky that I don't do the same to you or Springflame!" Dino snaps, glaring at the two canines. "Any kind of hound that lived without humans are nothing but disaster!" He growls. Dino soon points at me. "I was shown what Brightclaw had been able to do as a small pup, and it was nothing compared to what destruction she can cause now." Dino explains. "This beast does not deserve any mercy, she…no IT will be punished to the full extent!" He snaps. Dino looks at all the Fighters. "Fossil Fighting is meant to be a fun sport, but how can people have fun when there are beasts like these running around?!" He shouts. "They may call themselves angel-hounds, but are they really protecting us with their lives?!" Dino says. "In truth, these mutts are really just using us to become more and more powerful. Before we know it, they will attack everything and everyone we love!" He explains. "I don't plan on letting these beasts run free though. They will all be caged in the end, and won't ever be a threat again!" He exclaims.
A white blur leaps from the trees, and lands in front of Dino. The blur turns out to be Frost. "Dino, I don't know what has gotten into you, but you need to stop!" Frost snarls. "Why are you so against us?!" He barks as Brightshadow and Springflame cut the rest of the ropes that are binding me. Brightshadow removes the restraints from my claws.
"I hate Brightclaw more than any other hound. You should know what she has done since you both fought long ago!" Dino snaps.
"Brightclaw was only defending her home from us alley-hounds! We had threatened to take everything away from them, and they had risked their own lives to protect it!" Frost snarls. "The only hounds that died that day were from the forest, almost none of the wild-hounds had ever tried to kill us. Only one of us had actually had taken the lives of the wild-hounds, and he had faced judgement." Frost barks. "Brightclaw lost many allies in that battle, and she still blames herself for their deaths, but she continues to fight to protect what remains!" He snarls. "You have no idea what Brightclaw had to face, what she has lost!" Frost howls. "That mutt has given so much to others, but has lost so much in her life! She is the one who truly knows what it feels like to lose everything!" Frost barks, and the hounds in the plaza gather around him. Their partners standing beside them, not backing down from the enraged Dino. "Brightclaw is the one and true angel-hound. She has a golden heart, and it has been shattered countless times." Frost barks. "The only thing that drives Brightclaw is her will to protect the innocent!" He snarls.
"You have no right to accuse Brightclaw of harming Joe or Dina!" Casey growls.
Carnage walks over to his cousin and growls at Dino. "Yeah, an angel-hound only attacks things that are viewed as threats to the ones they love. They will never attack without reason!" He snarls.
Stommie and Stummer leap from the shadows, and begin to chew through the rope. "Get away you stupid mutts!" Dino shouts, kicking the two pups in the gut. They are sent flying, but Brightshadow and Springflame catch the two. "This beast doesn't deserve to live! It is to be put down like the animal it is!" He yells.
"Stop it!" Skyclaw barks. I look out of the corner of my eye and see her. Skyclaw is with Firestar, Sandstorm, Graystripe, Dustpelt, Leo, and her brother, Sunblaze. Tears stream from Skyclaw's eyes. She is horrified at the state that I am in. "Brightclaw isn't a monster!" She cries.
Dino takes a step forward, but Leo keeps him back with his glare and snarl. "Let her go, or you'll regret it!" He snarls, barring his teeth at Dino.
"As I said before, you protect only your own kind, and will harm others that threaten you." Dino says, pointing the knife at my heart. "This beast is keeping the original team members of Vivosaur under its control! Their nothing but pawns to it!" He shouts.
Everyone else is held off by the other wild-hounds. Leo moves as quickly as a velociraptor, picking me up in his arms. He then jumps back to where Skyclaw is. "Skyclaw, Sunblaze, get into my jacket!" He barks.
"Right!" Skyclaw barks, climbing into the angel-hound's jacket in the same manner as she would with me, her brother doing the same.
Leo spreads his scarlet wings, and flies off for Wildwest Tower. I weakly open my eyes, Leo looks at me. "Don't worry, I will save you. Or else these little ones wouldn't have been born." He barks, reassuring me.
Soon the four of us make it to the elevator, but my eyes widen in horror when I see that Dino has a hold of Dina. Todd has Tangleclaw pinned down, his blue eyes void of all emotion. "No, this can't be!" I bark, seeing the weapon that Dina had claimed underneath Tangleclaw's body. She's protecting the weapon with her very life, knowing that it is the only way to save Joe and everyone else.
"It's about time you came." Dino says, squeezing Dina's arm, causing her to yelp in pain. A growl rises in my throat, and I bare my teeth. "Huh, if Brightclaw is acting this way with me harming you, sis. Then you rather be with them than your own kind!" Dino growls, shoving Dina to the ground. This reminds me of my first adventure with Hunter when we had to save the earth. "To think that our own family would join a bunch of wild animals. It is a shame, but now we have to get rid of you as well." He sighs. Before Dino could even pull out a Dino Medal, Wolf shows up with Comet and Rupert. The two teens tackle Dino and Todd to the floor. Rupert helps Dina up, while Comet drags Tangleclaw and the hammer to safety.
