For those of you who don't remember, Ithilien is the forest between Gondor and Mordor where Faramir found Frodo and Sam

Faramir kept the door to his chambers closed. He was frightened to death of Denethor. It was dawn and he would barge in sooner or later and beat Faramir for Boromir's disappearance. Tears came to his eyes as he wondered why Boromir chose to run away with Kyra over protecting him.

"Big brother, please come home", Faramir prayed.

He gasped as he heard loud footsteps coming up the hall. Denethor was awake and he must've found out Boromir was gone. Denethor slammed open the door looking furious.

"Where is he?" he asked.

"What are you talking about?" Faramir asking looking innocent and scared.

"Boromir. Your brother is gone."

"Father, I do not know where he is", he said. "I am telling the truth."

Denethor glared and smacked Faramir across the face.

"You do know where he is!" he said. "I know you do!"

"How could I know?"

"You wanted him gone, didn't you?" Denethor asked getting furious. "You wanted him gone so you could be next in line for the steward's throne."

"Father, you're being irrational", Faramir said. "I never wanted Boromir to leave. He's my brother."

"Don't you dare talk back to me!"

Denethor hit Faramir again. Faramir yelled in fear as his father continued to beat him.

Boromir and Kyra continued riding through the thick forest of Ithilien. They were ready to start their own lives together without Denethor interfering. But now that they left their families behind, it both felt strange for them.

"Boromir?" Kyra spoke.

"Yes?"

"Are you sure this is the right thing for us to do?" she asked.

"I believe it is", Boromir said. "Everything will be alright. I know it."

"How can you be so sure?" Kyra asked.

"Have I ever lied to you?"

"No."

"Have I ever given you reason not to trust me?"

"No."

"Then you can believe me when I say everything will be alright", he said. "I will take care of you and the baby. Faramir will take my place as the future steward of Gondor until we return."

"When will that be?" she asked.

"Hopefully Father won't care about us anymore. Hopefully when we return, he won't take you away from me."

Kyra yawned as she closed her eyes. She was exhausted from the ride that took nearly all night. Boromir looked at her. They both needed to rest. He looked around trying to find a place for them to stay. It needed to be close to water and it needed to be somewhere no one could find them if Denethor ever sent out search parties.

Boromir heard the sound of running water and pushed his horse to head toward the sound. They soon stopped at a pool of water by a waterfall. Boromir checked his map to see where they were.

"The Forbidden Pool", he read.

He looked behind the waterfall to see a trail leading into a cave. A home in a cave behind a waterfall. That could do as a home for him and Kyra for now. Boromir brought the horse and Kyra into the cave for some well-deserved rest.

"Where are we?" Kyra sleepily asked.

"We're home", Boromir said.

He pulled her off the horse. Boromir took their bags and placed it against the cave wall. He took his fur cloak he had and laid it down on the stone floor. It would have to do for a bed until Boromir could make a proper one.

"Here", he said laying Kyra down. "Get some sleep."

He took the blanket they had and wrapped it around her.

"Are you going to lay with me?" Kyra asked sleepily.

Boromir smiled as he joined her in bed. He watched as she yawned and snuggled into his chest falling asleep. He soon joined her in dreamland.
