Kanashi sighed as he walked himself over to the post office. He wouldn't normally do any favours for the people around him, and he was usually averse to helping people too, but this time was an exception. It might've been because there was something in it for him as well.
He was going to get to read what Minato had replied to Maiko-chan. So, he opened the still unsealed envelope with a mischievous grin and began scanning down the lines of the printed paper. What the heck did Minato say to Maiko?
Dear Maiko,
Sorry for taking so long to reply. It's been busy around here and things haven't quite been looking so good for the people living here since there's been some trouble stirring up. Though, I guess you don't want to hear me go on about how horrible life here is. Forgive me? :P
Kanashi stopped for a moment. Did Minato just use an emoticon while he was writing a letter? He sweatdropped. The hell? Kanashi was half hoping that he didn't do that when and if he was writing to someone else besides Maiko. The other half was hoping that he did so that he'd have something new to tease Minato about.
Anyways, because of that trouble, things haven't been quite as safe, but I think it'll be fine if you want to come back to Iwatodai for a bit. If anything bad happens, big bro Minato can protect you!
Kanashi snickered. Minato really changed when he was talking to a kid.
In any case, I'm glad to hear that you've been settling into living with your mum well. It's always nice to spend time with your family, isn't it, even if it's just your mum? But hey, that's why you're going to visit your scary dad for a bit. I'm joking, he isn't that scary, but he scared me when I met him for the first time.
When you come back here, I'll be sure to have some Mad Bull and takoyaki for you. I haven't forgotten that they're some of your favourites.
Also, I told one of my friends about how great you were and he said that he wanted to meet you! Would you mind? He's not scary, and we've been friends for a while now. He might even have some candy for you if you want to meet him! :D Sound nice? If you say yes to meet him then we can go to the usual spot and I'll bring him to tag along.
Aw Maiko, you're one of the sweetest girls I know, but aren't you a little young to be thinking about something like marriage? I'm flattered to see that you think of me that way, but it's still a little awkward… :O
Well, I'll look forward to seeing you later Maiko. See ya later!
-Minato
Kanashi chuckled. That was fun to read. And nice, although he would never admit that aloud.
He folded and tucked the letter back into its envelope and continued on his way.
It was all fine for a while, however… with Kanashi, things always went wrong thanks to his shit luck.
Kanashi turned around frantically, hearing painfully light footsteps and the clinking of metal. That didn't sound good…
He quickly shoved the letter into one of his pockets and continued looking around. It sounded way too familiar.
"Show up already!" Kanashi yelled. It was strange. He was taking one of the open roads to the post office this time so why would anyone attack him?
Kanashi surveyed the area once more, however he was quickly starting to realise something. The area was just about empty. It reminded him of the time that those cronies tried to attack him and get his bike. That kind of atmosphere was never good.
Woosh!
Kanashi sidestepped and dodged the razor that came towards him. Speak of the fucking ass-ass-in. "Goddammit! Not you again! Can't I spend some days in peace!?" he growled, pulling on some leather gloves and then clutching onto one of two guns in his backpack. One of them was an Evoker. The other was a real one.
The one he was clutching onto?
Bang!
He grabbed it out of his pack and shot it at the blur of black that he had spied.
Dammit, it just missed!
Kanashi gritted his teeth and waited for the assassin to stop moving. He tried to stay as calm as possible, though with his fiery personality it was difficult. However, he did what he had to stay alive.
"Gotcha," he muttered as his fist collided with someone's arm. But it wasn't the same assassin that he knew. He had bladefists on and he seemed to be bulkier than the one that he knew before. He felt the slowness from Sukunda and he also felt inkling rage starting to boil and course within his veins. He really wanted to tear someone to pieces.
Shit! It was another assassi—
Kanashi felt something lodge into his shoulder. It was another one of those damned fucking razors!
He was so focused on the razor that he didn't notice the guy that he just punched started moving. In fact…
Kanashi felt something slice into his arm. Right on instinct, he was able to dodge the brunt of the attack, but he was slowing down. Sukunda and wounds never spelt a good omen.
He was just going to have to ignore those razors for then. They hurt, but if he was tangled up with the ass-ass-in in front of him, the other one wouldn't be able to have as clear of a shot to his vitals. Though his spine was still a problem, and his scars from the counterattack were still healing. They were still on the last leg for healing, but still healing.
Kanashi held a vice grip on the bladefist wielding assassin's arms and he tried to knee his stomach, hoping to get a good shot on him. And he did, because the fire that was starting to conduct through the blades on the assassin's gloves didn't affect Kanashi at all.
"Heh, what you trying to do?" Kanashi smirked before kneeing the other assassin again. He heard razors whizzing through the air once more, and he turned around the assassin to where he stood previously. The razors stuck firmly into the bladefist wielding assassin's back.
That was good thinking there.
By now, the fists of the assassin that Kanashi was holding onto were engulfed in fire, but he couldn't care less. It felt like some tickles instead of you know, FIRE!
Kanashi pulled back in order to get some space and to dodge some more razors. They were coming from a whole lot of directions now, and it was getting hard for Kanashi to dodge anything. But he didn't realise what pattern the razors were forming.
There was a pattern of razors all around Kanashi that formed what appeared to be a triangle, and that immediately set of warning bells in his mind as he stepped out from the influence of Rage.
…too late.
A seal formed around Kanashi, and with that, he was unable to move and he felt… weakened. It felt as if his strength was being drained out of him and seeping out to somewhere else. Maybe into the air, but Kanashi was barely able to form any thoughts. Except mostly…
Well fuck.
Kanashi's eyes widened as the bladefist wielding assassin drove one into his stomach and the other straight into the left side of his ribcage.
Was he going to die there?
But he couldn't possibly…
He was supposed to do something…
Blood started pouring from out of the wounds in droves when the blades were removed, and Kanashi began to see his vision blurring and his thoughts slipping.
Minato and Maiko. He was supposed to…
He sure as hell wasn't going to break any promise of his.
He could be a jerk, but no promises were going to be left undone.
"Per…" Kanashi began to choke out, "so… na."
A blue glow began to surround Kanashi and the seal that was placed on him began to dispel. "Come forth…"
The assassins stepped back as they watched their target begin to summon his Persona. This wasn't supposed to happen!
"AGNI!"
The seal shattered and Kanashi felt some new strength starting to flow through his veins, and whatever it was, it was healing up his wounds. Perfect.
"One twisted, bloodied, broken ass-ass-in coming up folks, 'cause chef Persona's gonna do the chopping! Agidyne!" Kanashi smirked.
From behind him, the Hindu god of fire appeared, engulfed in fiery red flames. From how bright the flames burned, no-one could see anything but his eyes flashing as tendrils of flame shot towards the bladefist wielding assassin. He might've resisted Fire spells, but as harsh as they were now, he could very well feel the pain eating through the layers of skin.
The assassin dropped onto his knee, and he tried to recover.
Kanashi grinned as he saw what his Persona did to him. The brightly burning flames finally calmed down, and they revealed the flaming spirit's two faces and sharpened, gold teeth. At this moment, the euphoria of summoning his Persona was bringing to Kanashi certain bliss, and an extreme amount of confidence. He laughed, "Haha, JB called and he's disappointed in his two prime students!"
Agni charged for the bladefist wielding assassin and threw a Gigantic Fist attack at him, sending him flying into the wall. "Why the cloak? Do you have a gigantic nose and bloodshot eyes that could scare all the little kids?"
Kanashi sidestepped as he heard razors whizzing towards him, and Agni cast a Tetrakarn spell that reflected the razors to the assassin, embedding deep into his flesh. "Hey, the hollow man called just now! He's hunting you bitches down for taking his prime cloak away!"
A Maragidyne attack sent spiralling flames in both of the assassin's directions, and because they were weakened they couldn't dodge. They were caught square in the blast of flames. "You should drink some Red Bull, but oh. Wait. It'll probably spill through yo stomach after I'm done with ya!'
The assassins fell to the ground, severely injured by the flames that the Vedic god gave them. However, they still had enough energy to crush a Traesto gem and let them escape.
"Pfft, of course they would run off like cowards," Kanashi growled.
Kanashi recalled his Persona and it disappeared in a plume of blue mist. He kept trying to calm himself down and regain his breath, and despite the fatigue that he was feeling, he smiled. He summoned his very own Persona.
He just summoned his Persona.
Agni. That was his name. The Hindu dude, with the flames.
Heh, well the opposite of water was fire.
But now he felt tired.
"Dude, what happened? That was supposed to be a few minutes errand not an hour!" Yashiro sighed. He had been passing by on his exercising. Boxing team stuff, getting stronger. Things like that.
"Uh, I got attacked. By them ass-ass-ins," Kanashi said. Yashiro blinked a few times. Well that would explain it. Still didn't explain his bad luck, but still explained the hour extension. "Two of them actually."
"Wait, two of them?" Yashiro said incredulously.
"Yeah, two of them. Didn't you hear me gym junkie?" Kanashi smirked.
"Gym junkie? Really?" Yashiro muttered. "Anyways, you okay?"
"Yeah, almost died, but I'm fine now," Kanashi sighed. "Got that Persona thingymajigger."
"You got a Persona man? Cool," Yashiro nodded.
Kanashi looked at Yashiro with a deadpan. He did not sound excited in the slightest. "Anyways, weren't you supposed to be doing something as well?"
"Yeah. Managed to keep the letter safe, even after all the shit I went through," Kanashi grinned.
"Also a good thing," Yashiro nodded. "Now go and send it off. Minato's been waiting a while, you know?"
"Yeah, yeah, blue haired emo, worried about me," Kanashi sighed before walking off.

Q/A SECTION
(Nyx) Question 1: Nyx, how do you see Minato? (Nyx, I am not going to stop pestering you with the "You love Minato" because I love the fluffy moments too much. That and it's fun to pester a goddess as well.)
Nyx: Well… he is someone that teaches me about humans. And someone who I think is painfully too accepting of me so that he can cling onto dear life. But he's also someone that I suppose… I could rely on.
…what have I done.
(Minato) Question 2: Minato, why do you not see Nyx as a goddess? If you can answer that question then I think you can start to get your emotions on path Minato.
Minato: Guess I can't get my emotions straight yet then.
(Nyx) Question 3?: Answer to Technodude458. :P
Nyx: *facepalm* This is going to be the death of me, I swear.
An egg? …why did I indeed?
Hoshiro: I believe it has something to do with a bit of irony.
Nyx: Ah, because eggs are representative of life in your world. Perhaps, but it was merely a cocoon, a shield. Also, I still have my powers. I could easily cast Death on anyone. Not that Minato would ever let me.
Ugh, then tell me that I've been defeated in an infinite amount of universes. I could believe it.
Hoshiro: I can also tell you that in another universe that you've made out with Minato several times. *whistles*
Nyx: Ah, I see… *blinks* WAIT, WHAT!?
Hoshiro: Not to mention this other one where you totally pulled Minato into the Velvet Room to try and get into his pants, and this other, other one, where you're as strict as a military general…
Also, unfortunately, neither of us gets the reference. Sorry yo.
(Kanashi) Question 4: Have you been bullied before?
Kanashi: Hahaha, no. I kicked ass. *eye twitches*
(Kanashi) Question 5: Why are you so proud?
Kanashi: Because I'm me. And someone like me can afford to… no. DESERVES to be.
(Kanashi) Question 6: Are you aware that you are a prick to most people?
Kanashi: Yeah, and a douche… *mutters*damnedviolencelovingbrat*mutters* But what makes you think that I should care about it? I certainly don't care about whether people think that I can act like an asshole sometimes. That's just me, and if they don't like it, they can go fuck themselves. *grins*
