Zoe was sat in her office with her head resting on her desk, she still had another hour left on shift and today had literally been the day from hell for her. A major RTC had come in early in her shift and both parents and their child had all died and then to top it all off when the grandparents arrived at the ED they both took great pleasure in yelling at her and blaming her personally for all three deaths.

She heard a knock on her office door and shouted "Come in" without even bothering to lift her head but smiled when she heard a familiar voice that she always managed to find comfort in.

"Hey, I heard you had a bad day" Max said softly to her.

"Yeah, well you could say that" she replied, finally lifting her head to look at him but gave him a suspicious look when she saw him holding something behind his back.

"What happened?" he asked but stayed where he was stood by the door with his arms held behind his back.

Zoe sighed momentarily forgetting about wanting to know what was behind his back "Both the parents and the little girl form that RTC died, then the grandparents decided to hold me personally responsible when they arrived at the hospital and shout a me for nearly an hour" she told him while struggling to old her tears back.

"I've got something that might help cheer you up a bit"

"Yeah and what's that?" Zoe asked remembering the item behind his back.

Max walked towards her desk and pulled one hand from behind his back producing three curly wurlys which he placed on the desk in front of her "And" he said pulling the other hand from behind his back and producing a large Cadbury's twirl Easter egg which he placed next to the chocolate bars.

"I did try and get a Curly Wurly Easter egg but apparently they don't sell them, so I just had to settle for second best which was twirl" he explained a smiled when he saw she now had a small smile on her face.

"Thank you" Zoe held her out to him, which he immediately grabbed onto placing a small kiss on the back of it.

"Oh, and one more thing" Max used the hand he was holding to pull her up out of her chair, smiling slightly when he realised she had taken her shoes off so he had to look down to see her properly "I got you this as well" he pulled her into a tight hug and refused to let go for what felt like forever, placing occasional kisses on the top of her head.

"I've got something for you as well" Zoe told him once he'd finally let go.

"Have you?"

"Yeah, this" She leant up, pulling his head down to give him a long and loving kiss.

"Well, I must say that was a great gift but do you know what would make it even better"

"No, what?" Zoe sighed.

"If you shared that Easter egg with me" Max said with a hopeful smile although he was already pretty sure what the answer would be.

"Yeah right, no chance" she told him with a smile "now get lost, I have paperwork to do and an Easter egg to eat" Zoe pushed him out of her office door and laughed at his pouting face.
