Chapter thirty-six

Lauren was the first one to wake up the next morning. She looked beside her to see her boyfriend and daughter cuddled up together.

She smiled to herself, joey was already such a great dad to Macy and be didn't even know it yet.

Lauren ran her fingers through Macy's short brown hair causing her to wake up. She flickered her eyes open and smiled at Lauren.

"Hello baby" Lauren cooed. Macy made a screaming noise causing joey to wake up to, he flickered his eyes to Lauren and smiled at her.

Lauren smiled at him guiltily. "Sorry" she told him. "How you feeling today?" He asked her. "Better" she replied.

"Good" he said leaning over and kissing her on the lips. Lauren reciprocated his movements and didn't stop until Macy let out an unsatisfied squeal.

"Oh sorry mrs!" Joey laughed. "Come here" he said to Macy. Macy made a 'uh' noise and crawled over to Lauren, cuddling to her instead.

"Oh you want your mummy?" Joey laughed. Macy smiled as she buried her head in Lauren's chest.

"That's what you get when you both leave me by myself all day" Lauren said exaggerating the 'all'. "Sorry babe but it was for your own good" joey smiled.

"Yeah how?" She sulked. "Well me, max, Alice and my mum were planning your birthday actually, nosy" joey smirked.

"Oo yeah, what's happening?" Lauren smirked back. "That would be telling though wouldn't it" joey laughed.

Lauren frowned before remembering something. "And Alice didn't come with you did she?" Lauren asked narrowing her eyes at joey.

Joey froze has he got out of bed, he knew exactly what was going on. "Joey?" Lauren warned. "Well he seemed weird and anyway she should've just told me, I'm her brother" joey said.

"Right one, she couldn't tell you because you weren't here when they got together and two she was scared of telling you because she knew you'd go off like you did" Lauren told him.

Joey rolled his eyes, something he'd unwillingly picked up from Lauren. "You knew then?" Joey asked, sitting back on the bed.

"Course I knew. Alice and Adam were both there for me from day one" Lauren said. "Well if I could've been here I would've" joey snapped.

"I know you would've joey, but that's not the point, they're happy together and you're not going to ruin it" Lauren snapped back.

Macy's head turned from joey to Lauren as they continued to argue. "I can't help it if I find him odd" joey said shrugging his shoulders.

"Have you actually spoken to him?" Lauren asked. "No bu-" joey began. "No buts joey, have a conversation with him then make your choice" she said getting out of bed.

"What are you doing?" Joey asked. "Me and Macy are going to spend the day with your mum and sister" she said.

"What about me?" Be said raising an eyebrow. "If you think I'm staying here so you can cause an argument all day your wrong" she said.

Joey sighed. "What am I meant to do then?" He asked. "I've arranged for you to go to the pub with Adam. Have fun babe" she smirked before kissing him on the cheek and walking out.

Joey stood there speechless, today wasn't going to be a good day but he at least had to try for Alice's sake.
