Hey guys, sorry for this long hiatus but a lot of things happened. I've been busy with interviews for different schools in different cities and some family stuff happened. My cousin is pregnant and we're helping her family as well. Besides that I've also gotten seriously sick and was down for a few weeks. So yea, a lot has happened, but I think I should be good now. I've got a few more things to do, but I have a lot more time again and I've been writing a couple of more chapters for this.
Unfortunately I haven't thought about an idea for a new story, but I'll be thinking of something. There are some ideas floating around, but not that solid to go forth.
So anyway guys, I'm back and I hope you all had a good start into the new year. I had a busy one, but everything should be good now!
Now I'm not sure who suggested it, but I think it was a Guest, but I thought it was a neat idea and it was a chance to give you guys a big welcome back gift!
So I hope you all enjoy it!
harajukudarkangel: Well I'm glad I make your day happier!
faithful2kh: I'm glad you enjoyed it! Kera definitely does not give up, even when the odds are against them!
Natalie: I think that is way out of my league, sorry. But yea Sting is hot.
Riley: I haven't but that's a neat idea. I haven't gone into the relationship with Laxus and Kera especially since it's a little difficult. That'll be fun to do. I also apologize for the wait.
sara: I haven't thought about it, especially since I've never watched it. But I'll think about it.
Into the Past
Kera was sleeping on one of the benches of the Fairy Tail guild. Her back was across the bench, one arm hanging down, one leg resting on the bench and the other firmly set on the ground. Her mouth was open as she was snoozing off, taking deep breaths but not snoring.
A few tables further both Natsu and Gray were sitting with small paper balls in their hands. Natsu threw his small paper ball. It hit the table and bounced over the sleeping brunette. Then Gray threw his. His paper ball hit Kera's chest, but didn't wake her.
Natsu grinned and threw another paper ball and it flew over Kera's head. Gray threw another paper ball and this one didn't even reach her.
Natsu stuck his tongue out as he aimed his next throw. He was about to throw it, but a voice startled, throwing his aim off completely. "What the hell are you doing!?"
The two boys turned their heads and saw Erza standing behind them with Lucy beside her and Wendy quietly behind the two. The red head had her arms crossed over her chest and her face held fury.
"U-Uh… we're just playing." Natsu said with a grin. Gray simply nodded not really in the mood to explain what they were trying to achieve.
Lucy raised an eyebrow. "And what are you playing?"
Natsu grin grew as he turned around. He picked another small paper ball and threw it towards the brunette. The paper flew into Kera's mouth and not a second later did she jump up, stumbled and hit the ground before she started choking and coughing.
The pink haired Dragon Slayer jumped up raising both of his arms into the air. "Victory!" He shouted. Erza simply put her hand against her forehead while Lucy sighed.
Kera kept on choking and coughing until she finally spat out the small piece of paper. She gripped her chest coughing another few times before glaring at the wizard who was standing. "Natsu!" She shouted. "What the hell!?"
"You two are so childish." Erza muttered while shaking her head.
Kera jumped up glaring at the people in front of her. "What the hell are you idiots doing!?"
"Playing." Both Natsu and Gray simply shrugged.
Lucy raised an eyebrow. "Why were you sleeping there anyway?" She asked.
The brunette rubbed the dust off of her. "I… was sleeping because I…" She stopped for a moment trying to find the right reason. "I… was… oh fine… I was helping Levy with some old books in the library last night." She yawned while stretching her arms. "I didn't sleep much last night… or at all."
"That's why you didn't come back to the apartment last night." Lucy started. "I thought you were out on a date or something."
Natsu snorted. "Yea right, Kera and a date." Kera shot him a glare but the pink haired idiot was still laughing. Lucy had elbowed him in the side to stop him from laughing.
"So you didn't get any sleep?" Erza asked raising an eyebrow.
Kera yawned as she rubbed her eyes. "Not much. I fell asleep a while ago but then these idiots had to wake me up." She said glaring at both Natsu and Gray.
"I'm sorry about that."
Kera turned her head and saw Levy standing behind her. She was looking down slightly and Kera knew that she was feeling guilty. "Don't worry about it Levy. I'm glad I was able to help." She said giving the girl beside her a warm smile.
Levy smiled and nodded her head. "And I'm grateful for it. By the way, with your help I was able to find the things that I needed, but there was one book that I thought you might be interested in."
The brunette saw the book in Levy's hands. What kind of book made her think she was going to be interested in? Shrugging simply she grabbed the book and looked at it. "Huh… the Era of Dragons."
Natsu popped his head from behind and looked at the book Kera was holding. Now he was interested too, but of course only because she said Dragons.
The brunette flipped through the pages and noticed there was a note in one of them. She pulled it out and cocked her head. "What's this?" She wondered.
Natsu, being an idiot as always, grabbed the piece of paper and looked at it himself. "Hey there's something written on here!" He squinted his eyes trying to figure out the words. "Um… it says… I think… time is a precious gift and can hold many secrets. Time shall call upon the secrets of the past. What the hell does this even mean?"
All of a sudden light surrounded the wizards and they panicked. "Natsu!" Everyone shouted as they immediately knew that this was his fault. They were about to lunge at him but the light grew brighter and a few seconds later they were gone.
Levy stood there alone, the place where the others have been now being completely empty. "I have a bad feeling about this." She spoke softly looking around the guild.
Yelling, shouting and screaming was heard as six people fell through the air and landed on the ground. Natsu was the first to hit the ground followed by Gray, Lucy, Erza, Kera and Wendy.
The pink haired Dragon Slayer groaned as a few of them hit him on the way to the ground. "Ow…" He muttered.
"Give me that!" Kera growled as she snatched the paper away from Natsu. She looked over it and her eyes narrowed down dangerously. "Natsu you idiot! This is a spell! God how stupid can you be!?"
Natsu rubbed the back of his neck as he sat up. "I didn't know! How could I tell that it was a spell!?"
Kera threw the piece of paper right in front of his face. "Because it says spell on it you brainless monkey!"
"Do you know what spell it is?" Wendy asked as she looked around the place. It was strange and she didn't know where it was. It just looked like an empty, devastated wasteland… with a few bones lying around.
The brunette sighed as she rubbed her forehead while giving the piece of paper a strange look. "I don't know. For all we know it could just be a transportation spell. We might be in a different town… or… knowing our luck, in a different kingdom."
Lucy groaned as she leaned back. "Ugh great… now we have to figure a way to get back."
"All because of Natsu…" Gray muttered.
Everyone turned their heads and glared at the pink haired Dragon Slayer. He let out a small squeak before diving behind a rock for cover. "I'm sorry!"
Kera sighed and simply turned her head towards Erza. "Do you know where we might be? This place looks unfamiliar to me."
The Requip Mage frowned slightly. "I actually don't know either Kera. I've never seen this place before."
"Great!" Lucy shouted throwing her arms into the air. "That means we're in a different kingdom… yay!" everyone groaned knowing that this was going to be one hell of a way back. And it was all Natsu's fault. It would be a miracle if he survived the trip back.
Lucy grabbed the piece of paper from Kera's hand. "Let me see if we can't use this to get back." Kera simply shrugged and let the blonde do her work. She was probably going to be the only one who might even understand it.
While Lucy was reading the paper in her mind a loud roar ripped through the air. All Fairy Tail members flinched hearing that loud roar, some even had to cover their ears.
Kera's eyes went wide when she realized what that sound was. "No way…" She muttered. Even Natsu and Wendy were slightly surprised. Kera's glanced up at the sky, looking around trying to find something.
"Kera what's wrong?" Erza asked taking a step towards her.
A scent hit her and she took a step backwards. A hand went to Erza as her gaze stayed up in the sky. Where are you? She asked narrowing her eyes.
"Kera?" Erza asked again, making both Lucy and Gray look a little worried too.
Her green eyes roamed the sky until she caught something fly through the clouds. There! "MOVE!" She suddenly shouted pushing Erza back. Without questioning her everyone moved their feet and jumped behind cover.
Out of the sky, a giant black and red Dragon came flying out letting out a blast of fire. Kera was the last one to jump over the rocks, missing the attack by only a few inches. She hit the ground in front of her, rocks flying above her. She could also feel the fire slightly.
Erza grabbed her and pulled her back against the rock wall. "What the hell was that!?" She shouted.
Kera coughed slightly. "A Dragon. I don't know how but there's a Dragon."
"Acnologia?" Gray asked narrowing his eyes. If they were dealing with that Dragon they were screwed. There was no way they could survive him. They almost died last time.
Natsu poked his head outside and saw the Dragon flying around, looking for them. The Dragon Slayer's eyes landed on him and noticed that it was black and red, but mostly red. He frowned. "That's not Achnologia. Not a Dragon I've seen before either."
Kera popped her head out from the other side. She saw the Dragon as well. "Black and red, seems to be shooting out fire. Possibly a Fire Dragon… but I'm not sure…" her eyes followed the Dragon until it suddenly disappeared. Her eyes went wide. "What the hell!?"
A roar was heard and everyone turned around. They saw the same black and red Dragon, suddenly coming towards them. Erza cursed. "Shit! Everyone move now!"
"We won't make it!" Lucy screamed seeing the Dragon right in front of them.
Kera took a step forward ready to fight back. "Kera don't!" Erza shouted but the brunette ignored her. If they couldn't dodge him then she was going to fight back.
Right when she was about to send a counterattack, another giant beast swooped in and smashed itself into the red and black Dragon. Kera's eyes went wide as she watched a new Dragon, this one being blue fighting the red and black Dragon. "What the…" She muttered.
"Kera!"
She turned her head around and saw the others already running for it. Lucy was pointing towards something in the back. "There's a town! Come on!" she shouted running off.
Kera turned her attention back to the two Dragons and saw them fighting. She knew this kind of fight. A fight to the death. She grimaced slightly before dashing off after her friends. She wished she could help but she had no idea what was going on. Not only were there two unfamiliar Dragons right in front of her, but they were fighting. What was going on?
"What the hell was that!?" Gray shouted as he stopped running. The others stopped running as well, catching their breath.
Wendy coughed slightly. "There were two Dragons." The others nodded not understanding how this could be.
Kera was just a few meters behind them as she came to a stop. "They were fighting. Why were they fighting?" She wondered more talking to herself than the others. It was just strange. Why were they fighting each other?
Why were there Dragons anyway?
"Let's just get to the town." Lucy said. "I really don't want to deal with those Dragons." She shuddered remembering the last time they encountered a Dragon.
It did not go so well…
On the way to the town Kera kept on looking back at the two fighting Dragons. Why were these Dragons fighting? Where did those Dragons come from? And where the hell where they? For years they haven't found a single Dragon and now two suddenly popped up out of nowhere. One almost killing them and the other saving them.
"Kera?"
The brunette turned her head and saw Erza giving her a worried glance. "Are you alright?"
"Yea, yea…" She muttered rubbing her forehead. This was all just too crazy…
It didn't take them long to reach the town. As they got closer and closer they saw that the town was bigger than they thought. It was hidden mostly by walls and rocks but it was still big.
As they started to walk through the streets the people were giving them some weird glances. Some were whispering to themselves while others avoided them like the plague. Natsu frowned slightly. "This doesn't feel right."
"You think?" Kera asked raising an eyebrow. "They're looking at us as if we're some kind of aliens."
"Well we know Gray is one." Natsu snickered but the Ice Mage simply gave him a glare.
A lour roar ripped through the skies again and the wizards flinched. Kera looked up at the sky and saw the red and black Dragon coming straight for them. "Ah crap, not again…" She muttered.
The people from the town started screaming and running around. People shouted 'get inside' and 'they're coming' or 'they're back'. The Fairy Tail wizards watched how the streets emptied and the people all rushed into their homes.
"Hey you!" A voice shouted.
They all turned around and saw a man standing at the door of a house. "What are you standing there for?! Get to cover!" He shouted. After they still didn't move he started dragging Lucy into the house. "Get in! Get in!"
The others simply followed and got inside the house. The man closed the door behind them and then glared at the people. "What the hell where you thinking!? Don't you know to hide when they come!?"
"What is even going on?" Gray asked looking around the place. "We saw that Dragon from before fighting another Dragon."
"You encountered that thing before and lived?" The man asked shocked.
Kera shrugged simply. "I mean… the last time we saw the Dragon it almost killed us but then this other one came out of nowhere saving our lives."
"Forget about that! Why are there so many Dragons around here!?" Natsu shouted taking a step towards the man.
"Daddy?"
Everyone turned around and saw a girl, maybe fourteen, standing in the doorway of the room. "Who are those people? And why are we hiding again? Are the mean Dragons back?"
The man quickly knelt down towards the girl. "Don't worry sweetie, we'll be alright. The others will help us."
Lucy gave a strange look to Kera but she just simply shrugged. She had no idea what was going on.
Erza took a step forward. "Excuse me, but could you tell us what's going on? Has this happened before?"
The man looked a little shocked as he heard this. "You don't know? Where have you been living? They're everywhere!" He shouted the last part.
Something crept inside of Kera as she heard this. "Dragons… everywhere?" She asked and the man nodded. "Of course! Everyone knows that the Dragons rule the lands. We're just food to them. We're lucky we have some of the rebel Dragons protecting us."
The other wizards were also shocked to hear this. Kera swallowed. "Luuuucy." She started. "Can I see that paper again?"
"S-Sure…" The blonde gave Kera the piece of paper. She looked at it over again a few times and something came to her mind. "Uh guys…" She started. "I think… we're more screwed than we thought we were."
"Why's that?" Wendy asked looking up at the brunette.
Kera turned around, her face grim. "Remember the spell talking about time?"
The others went silent. Erza on the other hand shook her head. "You can't be serious."
The brunette raised her finger telling her to wait. She turned to the man and his daughter. "Excuse me for this strange question but the Dragons rule this place, right?"
The man nodded his head.
"There are two sides, the Dragons that are fighting to completely rule the place and the other Dragons that seek an alliance with the humans. Correct?"
The man nodded yet again.
"And some of those Dragons trained some humans to fight with them, right? Dragon Slayer Magic?"
"Y-Yes… h-how…" The man started but Kera quickly turned around back to the others raising an eyebrow at them.
Lucy was speechless. This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't be… "We're… we're…" She started still not able to speak after discovering something so shocking.
Natsu blinked in confusion while Erza rubbed her forehead. "This can't be happening. I mean… we can't be in the time where the Dragons ruled."
Kera pointed to the door. "Well believe it! We're stuck about four hundred years in the past and there's a Dragon out there ready to kill us!"
"Then we'll just fight back!" Natsu shouted. "You've dealt with Acnologia before! You fought back! You can do it!"
The brunette glared slightly at the Dragon Slayer in front of her. "You're the reason why we're in this mess in the first place!" She shouted.
A loud explosion was heard from outside and shook the entire house. Everyone flinched and some duck for cover as debris started to come down from the ceiling. The little girl screamed as she saw a giant rock fall straight towards her and her dad. She waited for the rock to crush them, but for some strange reason it never did.
Opening her eyes she saw Erza standing above them with one half of her Adamantine shield, protecting them from the debris. She gritted her teeth. "We need to get out of here now!" She shouted.
The others ushered the man and the girl out of the house, making sure they wouldn't get hit by any more debris. Kera was the last one to run out of the building, right before it collapsed. She coughed as she held her hand in front of her mouth. "Is everyone alright?" She asked.
They all nodded muttering they were fine. They did just escape a collapsed building. Another roar caught their attention. The Dragon from before was flying above them, ready to dive down.
"We need to get out of here and away from that Dragon." Erza said as they started walking down the road. They had to get to some sort of safe place and away from that dangerous beast.
Natsu snorted. "We need to fight it! Not run!"
"Natsu you idiot!" Kera snapped at him. "That's a Dragon alright? We couldn't even scratch Acnologia, so why do you think that we can do anything against this one!?"
"You!" Natsu pointed at the brunette. "You can fight that thing back! Also he should listen to you!"
"I'm not going out there and fight it! I'm not suicidal!"
Lucy stepped in and pushed the two apart before they started fighting. "We can argue about this later! First we have to get to a safe place!"
Kera glanced at the Dragon. "I'll go catch the Dragons attention with Natsu. You guys are going to get these two to a safe place. Is that a plan?"
"What about me?" Wendy asked glancing up at Kera. The brunette smiled. "You're going to go with them. If anything happens you can help them out. Natsu and I can handle the Dragon."
The man on the other hand, who was holding his daughter, was looking a little concerned. "Are you really planning on attacking the Dragon?"
"Not fully, just distract it until you are safe." Kera explained. She pushed Natsu out of the cover, ready to leave herself. But before she was about to leave she turned her attention back to the others. "I'll give you the signal to move."
Erza nodded. "Be careful."
Kera smiled before heading off after Natsu. The Fire Dragon Slayer jumped out and let out a Fire Dragon: Roar. The attack hit the flying Dragon in the side catching his attention. The beast narrowed his eyes at him. Natsu grinned and ran down the street. "Come at me you oversized lizard!" He shouted.
The Dragon roared as it flew after Natsu. Kera jumped from a building and shouted. "Move now!" As she dashed off to help Natsu, from the building Erza, Gray, Lucy and Wendy helped the two defenseless people to a safe place far away from the Dragon.
Natsu had jumped back, missing an attack from the Dragon by a few inches. He felt a breeze of wind beside him. Kera dashed passed him seeing the Dragon closer to the ground. Kera's eyes flashed a gold color before her magic burst. She concentrated that burst in front of her, blasting the Dragon right in his face, knocking him back and to the ground.
The Dragon was obviously furious now. He opened his wings and let out a terrifying roar. Both Natsu and Kera had to close their ears so they wouldn't go deaf. The Dragon flew back into the air and blasted the ground right in front of the two Dragon Slayers.
Both wizards were blown back by the power behind the attack. Natsu crashed through a hose shocking the people inside while Kera was thrown down the road. She coughed slightly while also shaking her head. She was slightly dizzy after that attack.
Raising her head she saw the Dragon was now fully concentrated on her. In one way that was a good thing, on the other hand she now had to survive this Dragon. She quickly turned her head to see if the others were already safe. She saw them almost at the edge of the town.
Unfortunately the Dragon saw them too. The beast looked between Kera and the people escaping. For some reason it went after them instead of her. "Shit!" She shouted getting back to her feet quickly after the Dragon took off.
With the others Erza noticed the Dragon coming straight towards them. She cursed. "Everyone move now!" She shouted. After she had shouted the Dragon shot a blast of fire towards them. The attack hit the ground, but the power behind it still sent the entire group flying.
The Dragon flew past them heading for some target. After regaining her composure Erza saw who the Dragon was after.
The girl
"Jen!" The father shouted as he saw this as well. After the blast they had been separated as they were blasted away. Erza was about to change into her Flight Armor, but stopped when she felt wind pass her. Her eyes went wide. "No!" She shouted.
The young girl screamed as she saw the Dragon heading straight towards her, his mouth already set in a deadly attack, probably going to chew her through.
She felt something or someone grab her and spin her around. She felt herself in a pair of protecting arms. Kera had appeared and grabbed her and turning them around so that the brunette was going to take the impact. The arms around her tightened as the Dragon came closer.
"Impossible."
Kera's eyes snapped open as she heard that voice. Turning her head slightly she was face to face with the Dragon that was about to kill the small girl. The Dragon had stopped and was now standing right in front of them.
The brunette turned around so that she was standing in front of the Dragon and not with her back to him. She pushed the girl behind her as the Dragon got closer. She was not going to let him hurt her.
The Dragon moved in closer, his face right in front of Kera. To say the truth she was a bit scared. This Dragon was way too close for her liking, especially since it tried to kill them.
"This is impossible. A human… a pathetic human like you can't bear her scent."
Kera had a bad feeling about this. She ushered the girl to go and hide behind some rocks that were near them. At least there she would be safe from the Dragon. As the girl left the Dragon didn't move. His attention was all on her now. Great… this can't end well.
Even the Fairy Tail wizards that were watching didn't move. No one wanted to make a bad move. The Dragon was way too close to Kera.
There was a moment of silence between the Dragon and Kera and nobody dared to move. A minute past and Kera saw the Dragon narrow his eyes.
She was too late to react.
The Dragon had slammed the brunette away, swatting her like a fly and sending her flying. "KERA!" The others shouted. That was all it took and Erza dashed forward changing into her Blackwing Armor, ready to fight the Dragon herself.
Kera hit the ground a few feet away. She gasped out, pain flaring through her entire body. The Dragon had moved too quick for her to react and that had caused her pain. For whatever reason, the beast was now even more furious with her.
She propped herself up on her hands and knees, coughing slightly and spitting out blood. Out of her eyesight she saw the Dragon coming for her again and she tried to get up, but the pain in her body was overwhelming.
She also saw Erza trying to reach her before the Dragon would, but the brunette knew that Erza was too slow.
Yet for some miracle something else smashed into the Dragon knocking him away from the brunette. Kera's eyes went over to the side and couldn't believe what she was seeing.
The blue Dragon from before was back and it was fighting the red and black Dragon again. The two were going at it with everything they had. It was brutal. Kera could see the injuries and the blood flowing down their bodies.
A pair of hands grabbed her by the shoulder. "Kera you alright?" Erza asked as she glanced down at her. Kera moved her head and watched her turning back to her normal armor. The brunette smiled slightly. "I-I'm fine… no worries… just… sore."
She tried getting back on her feet, but pain ran through her body as she tried to stand up. She gritted her teeth and Erza had to hold her before she hit the ground again. The red head helped her back on her feet while making her lean on her shoulder.
Lucy ran towards the two girls feeling worried about Kera. "Oh my god Kera, are you alright!?" She asked.
Kera nodded slightly. "Yea… just… hurts a little bit."
"Well you did get whacked by a Dragon." Gray said coming up beside them with Natsu, who was still rubbing dust off of himself.
Wendy ran up to her and held out her hands. "Sit down and I can heal you."
"I'm fine Wendy. No need to worry." Kera tried to tell her but looking all beaten up didn't help her point.
A loud crash was heard and everyone saw the blue Dragon standing above the red and black Dragon. It seemed he had won the battle. Now they just had to get away from that one. Just in case he tried killing them.
But it seemed the Dragon knew what they were thinking about. He turned around and looked down at them. "No need to panic. I belong to the Rebel Dragons."
"Yea I'm not going to trust a giant Dragon that can kill us in one swipe." Gray stated simply as he turned to the others. The others kind of agreed but that is until the father and his daughter took a step forward.
The father turned to Kera and bowed slightly. "I am forever grateful that you saved my daughter. But the Dragon is right, there is no need to be scared. This Dragon is one of the few that protect us."
Kera glanced up at the Dragon while holding her stomach. She was still in pain from the attack but she could handle it. "So you're… you're one of the Dragons that protect us humans?"
The blue Dragon nodded. He took a step forward and lowered his head. "Yes, but you are… you smell familiar. You smell like a Dragon, but… you are a human. That… is strange."
Natsu leaned in to the brunette. "Kera… he's sensing that you have the scent of the Queen."
That's when it hit her. The reason why the red and black Dragon got so furious. A human bearing the scent of the Queen of Dragons… for those that despise humans, it was an insult.
"If you don't mind, I would like to take you back. I can also sense that you wield magic. Have you all been taught by other Dragons?" Natsu was about to answer but the Dragon was quicker as he kept on talking. "Never mind, those questions will be answered soon enough. Come…" He lowered himself and set one of his wings onto the ground as a sign to climb on.
Everyone looked over at Erza, the one who usually had a good instinct of things were a trap or not. The red head was a little suspicious, not knowing if the Dragon was really there to protect the humans. She was the one who turned her head to Kera. "Do you trust him?"
Kera sighed. "I…" She looked up at the blue Dragon. "He doesn't seem to pose a threat, so… we might be able to trust him. I mean… he hasn't tried to kill us yet."
Erza nodded. "Alright then, let's get going."
The Dragon had brought the group of wizards to an area in the west. It was already filled with Dragons, the giant lizards flying around as well. All of the Fairy Tail wizards looked shocked and amazed as they saw the Dragons flying around.
Wendy was the most amazed as she watched them fly around. There were so many here it was amazing!
Natsu on the other hand glanced down at the Dragon they were riding on. "So hey, stupid question. Do you know Igneel?"
"Igneel? Yes we know of him, but he is not here at the moment. He is out in the battle." The blue Dragon explained.
Natsu wanted to ask more but he had changed the topic quickly. "We are here, hang on." The Dragon landed on the ground and the wizards got off. The immediately noticed that they were in a place that held many ruins. Pillars and Stones rose into the air while a round stone ground was in the middle. On the stones several Dragons stood talking to each other.
The blue Dragon cleared his throat while bowing. "Your Majesty we have visitors."
The Dragons at the front turned around and moved back. What they saw next made Kera speechless. Behind the two Dragons that were at the front, there were another two Dragons, but one of them…
One of them was a crystal white…
"Kayeleth?" Kera suddenly asked, the name slipping from her lips.
All of the Dragons turned towards the brunette, a heated glare on their faces. The white Dragon took a step forward and lowered its head. "How do you know my daughter?" the voice was soft and feminine, but it wasn't Kayeleth.
Hearing the Dragon speak only one conclusion came to her mind. This wasn't Kayeleth, no this was her mother, Kera's grandmother. What was her name again? Damn it, Kayeleth told her it once. It was… it was…
"Kiara?"
The white Dragon raised her head. "Well… it seems you know me and my daughter. Tell me, who are you?"
"Kera…" Erza warned her slightly. They don't want to screw things up. This was not the place or time for it. Also she wanted to make sure she wouldn't tell them something stupid or crazy that might get them killed. They were under Dragons…
"I… I…" Kera started. What should she say? What was she supposed to say? She was standing in front of her grandmother! The daughter of… the daughter of Mavis and Zeref.
Suddenly Kiara leaned forward towards Kera her eyes narrowing down. "You smell like a Dragon… explain now…" She ordered.
Kera flinched. Okay she was not as friendly as Kayeleth was. "I… I…" She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"My name is Kera and I am from the future, a spell brought us back in time and I forgot to mention that I'm your granddaughter, the daughter of your daughter Kayeleth and she raised me and I'm technically the Queen of Dragons from my time and a lot has happened and we're stuck here now and we got attacked by this one Dragon then this other Dragon came to save us and he brought us here and now we're standing in front of you Kiara the Queen of Dragons from hundreds of years ago, my grandmother the mother of Kayeleth my mother and you're staring down at me like you're ready to eat me and I'm really scared now and I'm sorry for everything that has happened and is going to happen. So please don't eat me!" She rambled off, her voice going off in record time and ending in a squeak as she spoke the last words.
The Fairy Tail wizards all stood there completely shocked, surprised that Kera would just tell them everything! Erza simply slammed her head with her hand. They were doomed. They were going to kill them, probably eat them and this was going to be the last of the Fairy Tail wizards.
Kiara raised her head again while also raising one of her eyebrows. "I see…"
One of the Dragons, a black one with blazing red eyes turned his head towards Kiara. "You can't believe them, your Majesty. They are obviously telling lies! How could a human become Queen of the Dragons!?"
"I'm technically also a Dragon Slayer." Kera added raising one of her hands. The black Dragon sent a glare at her that could have killed her right then and there.
"Prove it." The second Dragon spoke.
Kera quickly nodded and held out her hand. She let out a flame while creating a ball of water, earth and air. She moved them around and combined them, creating a bright light, the magic radiating from it.
Kiara was amazed by this. "You wield the four elements… no one can do that except…" She stopped talking and immediately lowered her head again. She was staring right into Kera's eyes and the brunette noticed that Kiara's eyes flashed from its green color to gold. Kera closed her eyes for a moment and opened them, her own eyes flashing gold.
The white crystal Dragon smirked as she raised her head. "It seems you're telling the truth." She glanced at the others and noddd slightly. "And it seems we have a lot to talk about."
"Your Majesty!" The black Dragon shouted stopping Kiara. "You can't really believe them! They might be working with him!"
"I know the risks, but there are only a few things that separate us from any other Dragon." Kiara glanced down at Kera. "Or even human. Her story might be a little strange, but that doesn't mean it's not true."
Kiara glanced at the other Dragons. "Leave us, I will need to talk to them alone."
Two of the Dragons simply nodded while the black Dragon still looked a little unsure. Kiara noticed this and frowned. "Narolth leave, and if they prove to be liars I think I can handle some humans."
The Dragon growled slightly but left as well. Kera could sense a bad vibe coming from him and she already knew he was bad news. Note to self, stay away from him…
"Now…" Kiara started turning her attention towards the wizards. "We need to talk."
Kera swallowed hard but didn't move an inch. Both Natsu and Gray pushed her forward towards the Dragon. She was the one who even talked to her. It was all her fault. Kera glared at the two boys but Erza shot her a 'if you screw up, you die first' look.
The brunette sighed and turned her attention back to Kiara. "So… you're not going to kill us?" She asked.
"Now why would I kill my own granddaughter?" Kiara said with a smirk. Kera looked a little shocked. "So you believe us?"
The white Dragon moved around slightly. "Like I have told the others. There are only two people in this world that can control the four elements and can have golden eyes. Those are me and my daughter. With you here and being able to control the four elements supports your story."
Kera sighed in relief. "Oh thank god… I thought I was going to die…" she started to laugh nervously but stopped when Kiara gave her a stupid look. "I'll be quiet now…" She said playing with her fingers.
Kiara chuckled as she moved around. "Come, let's go somewhere where there aren't as many ears."
Kera nodded slightly and watched Kiara walk away. She gave the others a small smile. The others on the other hand were a little skeptical about this entire situation. They were among Dragons, creatures that could kill them in seconds. They did feel a little powerless…
Kiara had flown the group of wizards towards a place that was away from the other Dragons. They were closing in on a forest and Kera could have sworn it looked familiar somehow. Kiara landed down in the trees and let the wizards down from her back. After that she started to glow and started to shrink.
Kera's eyes went wide when she realized what was happening. A few moments later the giant Dragon was now a human being.
The woman standing in front of them looked so… elegant. She could see several traits that tied her to Mavis…
She was tall and slim, long blonde, almost white hair flowed down her back and her green eyes were shining with warmth.
Huh… Kera thought. So that's where I get my green eyes from…
The woman in front of them wore a white dress that adored her body as she walked across the ground. The woman smiled softly and waved for the wizards to follow.
The others were surprised to see this. Kiara was also available to turn into a human. Natsu wanted to ask so many questions but Kera beat him to it. She ran up to her, her eyes still wide with shock. "You… you can transform into a human."
Kiara smiled. "Of course I can. It helps with keeping an alliance between the Dragons and Humans. They wouldn't be so afraid if they were talking to a Human instead of a deadly Dragon."
Kera nodded slightly. "Well… yea, I mean, I'm not that scared anymore."
The woman chuckled. "Yes I can see that, but before we continue." She stopped and turned around glaring at the people in front of her. "You will not mention a single thing to Kaya."
"Kaya?" Kera asked. She couldn't mean… or did she.
Kiara nodded. "Kayeleth, Kaya is her nickname." Kera remembered the first time she met Kayeleth that she had introduced herself as Kaya. So she used her nickname. Kiara sighed. "Kaya doesn't need to know about this. I would like to keep it that way. She has enough troubles, she doesn't need to know that her daughter from the future travelled back in time."
Memories of the few times she had with her mother ran through her mind. Kayeleth would ask questions and she didn't have the heart to tell her what would happen.
Erza took a step forward and put a hand on Kera's shoulder. "There's not need to worry. We won't say a word to your daughter."
Kiara smiled. "Thank you." She turned around and motioned for them to follow. "Now come, my house is not far from here."
They followed Kiara through the woods and ended up at a house that looked too familiar to Kera. "No way…" She muttered looking at the house in front of them. The others were shocked as well because they knew this house.
This was Kayeleth's house.
"So… Kayeleth's house is… has been your house?" Kera asked glancing at Kiara. The woman chuckled. "Ah, so I see my daughter has kept this house. Well it is secret, not even the other Dragons know about this." She smiled softly as she opened the door. "It is the only place where we can have our peace."
They walked inside and noticed only a few changes to the house. The only difference was a teenager, probably the same age as the wizards was standing on a chair and looking in a cabinet.
Kiara sighed getting a little annoyed. "Kaya, what are you doing now?"
The teenage girl flinched and squeaked as she turned around. Unfortunately she stumbled over her own two feet and fell off the chair, crashing to the ground while also taking half of the counter with her.
Natsu smirked as he elbowed Kera. "Looks like you're a lot like your mother."
"Mom!" Kayeleth shouted as she jumped up and brushed herself off quickly. "Y-You're home! I-I thought you'd be gone for… the rest of the day." Kayeleth as a teenager looked a lot like Kera. Erza could see that the two show a lot of similarities, the only differences being their hair color, Kayeleth's being white and their eye color which was a mix of several colors for Kera's mother. She wore a simple white and red long armed shirt and a simple skirt that covered her legs to her knees.
"I was but something came up." Kiara said simply, but then noticed something strange. A line of red liquid travelled down her legs. "Kaya…" She said simply while looking at her legs.
Kayeleth looked down and saw the blood. She jumped slightly but quickly wiped it away. "Ah, it's nothing, just pricked myself!" She quickly said with a smile.
Natsu sniffed the air and frowned. "I smell more blood."
Kiara now glared at her daughter. "Kaya what happened?" She raised an eyebrow. "What did you do now? I hope nothing foolish."
"What? No, I wouldn't do something foolish." Kaya said with an innocent smile on her face.
Erza leaned into Kera. "She does seem a lot like you."
"Oh shut up!" The brunette snapped back while pushing the red head aside.
Kiara walked over to her daughter and grabbed her by the arm. The young white haired girl hissed in pain. The woman pulled up the sleeve of her arm and saw bandages covering her arm. Her eyes went wide and next she lifted her shirt up slightly. At the side there was a huge bandaged covering what seemed to be a big wound, but it was soaking through and that's where the small trail of blood came from. "Kaya…" She whispered. "What happened?" She asked her voice filled with worry.
Kaya sighed. "I… well Narolth wanted to check out an area where some humans said there was a group who needed help. I didn't think much of it and only went with Freiya to check it out. Well…" She looked down at her injuries. "It was a trap. There weren't any humans that needed help, just those pesky black Dragons. They ambushed us and tried to kill us."
Kiara's eyes hardened all of a sudden. For a moment rage flashed across her face, but it quickly disappeared. She sighed. "Are these your only injuries?" She asked glancing her over.
Kayeleth nodded. "Yes, one of them got a lucky shot at me and was able to hit me in the side. Though it's sad to say that I was the one who got lucky… Freya didn't fare so well…"
"Is she…" Kiara started but Kayeleth quickly shook her head. "No, but she was gravely injured. One was almost able to tear her arm off if I hadn't interfered. I'm sorry." She whispered the last part.
Kiara hugged her daughter quickly causing the young girl to hiss in pain again. "No need to be sorry. You've done a great job of getting Freya out of there. If it weren't for you she might be dead."
"Though I wish I could have done more…" Kaya muttered. She glanced over her mothers' shoulder and noticed the wizards. "Mom, who are they?"
Kiara smiled as she released her daughter from her hug. "These are some humans that are helping us. They are friends."
Kayeleth smiled as she took a step forward. She held out her hand to Kera. "Nice to meet you! My name is Kayeleth. Mother trusts you a lot if she showed you her house."
Kera smiled softly taking her young mother's hand. "I guess she does, my name is Kera and these are my friends Erza, Natsu, Gray, Lucy and Wendy." She said.
"Kera wow." Kayeleth commented. "That's such a beautiful name. It means pure right?"
Kera chuckled slightly but nodded. "Yea." Though I don't feel pure… I've done some things that might contradict to that meaning…
"Kaya." Kiara called causing the white haired teen to turn around. "Why don't you get yourself patched up again? I need to do some business with our friends here."
Kayeleth nodded her head. "Sure… where are the other bandages?" She asked looking around. "I couldn't find any in here."
Kiara smiled. "There are more in the bathroom, just make sure you don't use all of it up so soon." She told her daughter.
Kayeleth rolled her eyes. "Yes mother…" With that she headed off to the back of the house. The moment she was gone Kiara's smile turned into a frown. The others noticed this and grew a little scared, even Erza got a little scared at this sight.
Kiara turned around. "How dare he send my daughter out like that! He has no authority over her. He's lucky Kaya survived or else I would have his head at my feet." she sneered.
The woman noticed the frightened glances of her guests and quickly regained her posture. "I apologize… for my actions. Narolth shouldn't have sent my daughter out into the field. I know she doesn't mind but he had no right."
"Um…" Kera started. "Kayeleth never told me you were so… vicious… or could have the potential."
A smile appeared on her face again. "Being the Queen of Dragons in a time of war requires a lot of strength. You need to keep everyone in line. You don't want others to see that you are incapable of leading and sometimes that requires to be… a little vicious. Don't you have any hold on your people?"
"Well…" Kera started playing with her fingers. "Um… where I come from… there haven't been really… um… Dragons for… nearly several years. People believe they are extinct."
Kiara's eyes went wide at hearing this. "Impossible! Dragons are the strongest creatures out there! Surely after we won there would have been peace!"
"I don't know, I can't really say anything. The only Dragons I have seen with my own two eyes are Kayeleth and… Acnologia."
Kiara's breath hitched at hearing that name. Kera noticed this and grew curious. Wait… wasn't Acnologia…
"My brother… he still lives?" Kiara asked and that reminded Kera again of the situation. Acnologia was Kiara's brother. Zeref and Mavis had two children. Kiara and Acnologia. That blasted Dragon was part of her family…
"Did something happen?" Natsu asked raising an eyebrow slightly.
Kiara stayed silent for a moment. Hearing this news she feared what damage her brother has done in the future. "What has my brother done?"
"Maybe we shouldn't say, I don't know how this entire changing the past thing could affect us." Kera admitted.
Erza sighed rubbing her head. "There's no need Kera. We probably already screwed things up anyway."
"Wait really!?" Lucy shouted shocked. "Oh god, what if we screwed everything up!? What if we made the future even worse!?"
Kiara raised her hand to stop her from panicking. "Do not worry. I have a solution for that, you can tell me. I want to know what else my brother has done to shame us."
"Well being like the only Dragon out there he is trying to destroy everything and kill every human. And we practically can't scratch him." Gray told her.
"Great optimism Gray." Natsu muttered.
Kiara frowned. "I knew that my brother was crazy but this?" She shook her head. How could she let this happen? It was her duty to end things. And she failed.
But it seemed Kayeleth still lives and she has a daughter as well. She turned her gaze towards the brunette in front of her. "You still have a chance. There might not be any Dragons left but you have the power to stop him."
"Me? I barely survived the last time we encountered!" Kera said.
"So you've already met." Kiara stated.
"Like Kera said we barely survived. He wiped the entire island we were on out. If it hadn't been for Master Mavis we all would have died." Erza explained.
Kiara grew shocked. "I know my brother is powerful, but my future granddaughter should be able to stand a chance against him. After all, you fight a Dragon with a Dragon."
Everyone turned to Kera who looked a little nervous. Kiara noticed something was off at that moment. "Is there something you need to tell me?" She asked.
Kera smiled softly. "Um… I… can't exactly… turn into a… Dragon."
Kiara's eyes grew wide. "But how?"
The Dragon Slayer simply shrugged. "I don't know why."
"Didn't my daughter teach you?"
"I didn't really grew up with her."
"What are you saying?"
Kera sighed. She hated to tell Kiara this, but there was no way out of this. She just hoped she wouldn't tell Kayeleth anything about this. "When I was a child a few men kidnapped me and took me away from Kayeleth. I just met her a year ago after almost dying from a seal that kept my magic back."
Kiara sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I see… I am sorry to hear that. I think I know why you are having troubles turning into a Dragon. You see, a daughter learns from her mother, no matter Human or Dragon. Since you didn't grow up with Kaya you haven't grown your Dragon side that much. You've probably spent most of your life with humans, meaning your Human side grew. Communicating, socializing, everything that belongs to Human Nature. It's the same with the Dragon side. Your Dragon Instincts haven't grown much since you haven't been around Dragons."
"Will I ever be able to turn into a Dragon? Or grow these Dragon Instincts?" Kera asked glancing at the woman in front of her. She didn't want to be more of a failure already. Erza put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey don't worry, I know what you're feeling and you're not a failure. You will eventually get it."
"Thanks Erza." Kera smiled at her. She loved her since she was always there for her.
Kiara smiled. "You're friend here is right Kera. You are not a failure. Your will eventually be able to turn into a Dragon. You just need training. Not even Kaya could do it on the first try. It takes a lot of concentration and magic power."
"So she just needs to train?" Wendy asked and Kiara nodded. "Yes, but it will take a while since you don't have much Dragon influence."
"Maybe you should spend a little time with Kayeleth. Maybe she can help you with that." Lucy suggested.
"First we would have to get back." Kera stated matter of factly.
The white haired woman smirked. "I believe I can help with that. Do you know the words of the spell you 'accidentally' used?"
Lucy quickly grabbed something from her pocket. "We still have the piece of paper. Natsu spoke these words and we ended up here."
Kiara took the paper from the Celestial Wizard and read it through. She raised an eyebrow. "This is one powerful spell you have here. Where did you find this?"
Kera sighed rubbing the back of her head. "We don't know exactly. A friend of mine gave me a book about the Era of the Dragons. That paper flew out of it and Natsu read it. That's how we got here."
"I see." Kiara glanced at the spell again. "Well lucky for you, this spell is easily reversible."
"Really? That's a relief." Lucy smiled and Wendy nodded. They were glad that it wouldn't be a hassle. "So how do we get back?" Gray asked glancing at the woman in front of them.
"It's simple." She said.
"You have to finish whatever you were sent here for."
"WHAT!?"
Kiara sighed as she handed Kera the paper back. "This spell is very powerful and there's only one way to get back to your time. Finish the spell. It has sent you here for a reason. Maybe it's a lesson, maybe it was to do something. You need to know."
"But we don't know!" Natsu shouted looking a little panicked.
"That… is a problem." The Dragon Queen commented. She put a hand on her chin trying to think of something. "There has to be a reason why you are here. Why this time?"
An idea popped into Lucy's head. She quickly turned to Kera and grabbed her by the shoulders. "Kera, didn't you read anything out of that book?"
"Huh?"
"Did you read that book!?"
"I-I don't know!"
"What do you mean you don't know!?"
"A little! Gah… Lucy you're scaring me!"
Erza pushed the blonde back slightly. "Lucy what are you talking about? You're not making any sense."
Lucy shook her head. "I think I know how to figure this out. That spell was in the book Era of Dragons, and we were sent back to the Era of Dragons, so there has to be some connection there. I just thought if Kera read that book it might tell us what happened during this time. Why we were sent here."
All of a sudden all heads turned towards Kera. The brunette flinched slightly as she took a step back. "What?"
"Well?"
"Did you read the book?"
"You better have."
All of her friends were giving her a small glare. Kera swallowed hard. "Uh… yes?"
Erza glared at her, knowing that she wasn't telling the truth. "Kera…"
"Fine! I just flipped through it!" Kera admitted. "I found it last night while helping with Levy and just checked it out. I didn't want to read everything so it was just a quick look."
"Of course." The red head muttered.
"Wasn't there anything that caught your attention?" Gray asked giving the brunette a slight glare.
The brunette tried to think. It was hard for her, she wasn't a bookworm like Lucy or Levy. But since Gray mentioned it, there was something that caught her attention. "Actually yes." She admitted. She shook her head slightly. "I can't remember all of it, but there was something about a Dragon that was a spy or a traitor or… something like that."
This caught Kiara's attention. "Wait, traitor? On which side?"
Kera closed her eyes trying think about it again. "I… I can't remember. I'm really sorry." She said giving her friends and her grandmother an apologetic look.
Kiara sighed. "That's alright, we just have to be careful. There might be a spy in our midst."
Everyone heard footsteps and a second later Kayeleth came walking into the room, all bandaged up. "Uh mom, shouldn't we head back soon? There's… some business to be dealt with and I want to check up on Freya."
Kiara thought for a moment. She glanced at the wizards before an idea came to her. "You all are going to come with me again. We're going to discuss a few things since you're the representatives of the humans."
"Oh you are?" Kayeleth asked glancing at the humans.
"We are?" Natsu asked surprised, but Lucy quickly elbowed him in the stomach. "Agh! I-I mean yea we are!"
"Good now let's go. There's something I need to do." Kiara said.
It didn't take them long till they got back to where the other Dragons were. The wizards stepped down from Kiara's back as she and Kayeleth were turned into Dragons. Kera could actually see that Kayeleth's form was slightly different from when she saw her the last time. Of course she was younger but she had no idea it had an effect on the Dragon form as well.
As they arrived Kiara noticed a familiar black Dragon standing there. Her eyes immediately narrowed down seeing him. "Narolth!" She shouted angrily.
Kayeleth immediately knew where this was going. "Mom…"
The black Dragon turned around and saw Kiara. "Your Majesty, you have returned… and with the Humans."
"Do not change to a different subject. You had no authority to send my daughter out on a mission!" Kiara snarled.
Narolth felt a little uncomfortable. "I apologize, I didn't mean to. I asked if someone could check up on a situation. Your daughter volunteered. I didn't want her to go but she insisted. I also apologize for Freya. I hope she is well."
Kayeleth sighed. "I hope she is fine as well. I would like to check on her if that is fine." She said glancing at her mother.
"That is fine, take the Humans with you Kaya. I need a word with Narolth."
The black Dragon looked nervous. On the other hand Kayeleth nodded her head and let down her wing to let the wizards climb on her back. When they were settled the young Dragon flew off to meet her friend.
Watching her daughter leave Kiara turned her attention back on Narolth. "Now… about what happened."
"We're here." Kayeleth said as she landed somewhere else. Kera, as well as the other wizards noticed that the place was by a lake in a forest. It looked beautiful. The lake was sparkling while another blue Dragon was lying near it.
It moved its head and glanced at the white Dragon. "Kaya…"
Kayeleth smiled. "Freya… how are you fairing?"
The Dragon sighed only moving minimal. "I could be better. How are you feeling?" She asked.
Kayeleth shook her head. "I'm fine Freya, because of you. If it weren't for you I probably wouldn't be here. You risked your life for me and I'm… I'm really grateful for that."
Freya smiled warmly. "For a friend like you I would do it again." Her gaze shifted over to the Humans. "Who are they?"
"They are friends and representatives of the Humans. But please Freya, if there's something I can do please let me know."
The blue Dragon started to move and slowly stood up. The others gasped slightly seeing Freya's injuries. Her complete side was torn and scratched while one of her arms looked like it was eaten and almost spit out. She looked horrible. Freya sighed. "There is nothing you can do Kaya. The waters here help me recover faster than usual. I just need time."
"What about herbs, or other medicinal treatments? I can't just let you suffer here." Kayeleth spoke to her, really wanting to help.
"I think I can help."
Everyone turned around and saw Wendy walking up to them. Kayeleth looked a little confused as well as Freya. The blue Dragon raised an eyebrow. "I apologize for my rudeness, but how can a Human help a Dragon?"
"I know Healing Magic."
Both Kayeleth and Freya looked at her wide eyed. "Healing Magic? How can a Human possess such powerful magic?" Freya asked still not believing this.
Wendy folded her hands and held them in front of her. "Please let me help you. I can see you are in pain."
"I'm not so sure…" Freya said slowly.
"I trust them Freya. My mother trusts them." Kayeleth told her friend. She herself had no idea what the little girl was talking about but if she had an idea to help Freya, she'll take it.
The blue Dragon looked surprised. "Her Majesty trusts them? They must be special if she believes in them." She stared at the little girl for a while before nodding her head. "Very well… I will let you try."
Wendy smiled and walked towards Freya slowly so she wouldn't feel so frightened. She was surprised that a Dragon would be a little afraid of a Human, but she said she trusts them since Kayeleth trusts them.
The little girl carefully put her hand on Freya's side. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. A green glow surrounded her hand as magic started to seep into the wounds. Freya felt the magic entering her body and closed her eyes, enjoying the moment. It felt nice.
Wendy used her other hand so she could use more of her healing magic. She stayed there for a few minutes before finally slumping down, exhausted. Kera quickly dashed forward, running towards her making sure she was okay.
"I'm fine… really." Wendy told Kera but the brunette simply shook her head. "Wendy, healing a Dragon takes a lot of magic energy. You're probably exhausted."
"Maybe…" Wendy admitted.
The Dragon beside them started to move and without any problems Freya stood up. She spread her wings and stretched, a smile spreading on her face. Even Kayeleth was amazed.
Freya looked down at the girl. "Thank you, I still can't believe it but you have healed my injuries."
Wendy glanced at the Dragon and noticed that she wasn't completely healed. She bowed her head. "I'm sorry… I couldn't heal all of it."
Freya smiled. "You need not worry child. You have helped me a lot. The rest can heal by itself."
Kayeleth smiled, seeing her friend back up on her feet. These humans were amazing. Though she was surprised that they were actually wizards. "I did not know you are wizards. Maybe that is why my mother trusts you."
"That and another reason." Kera admitted with a small smile.
The blue Dragon smiled. "I believe I can now rest back at home. I do not need the lake."
"But you should take it easy. We don't know what this has an effect on you and you're not fully healed." Kayeleth was still concerned that she would overdo herself now. Freya was also sometimes thickheaded and wouldn't listen to anyone else. Well they both were.
Freya turned to Wendy and bowed slightly. "Thank you child, I am in your debt."
"Oh no! No, please don't! I just wanted to help." Wendy told her. Freya smiled seeing the girl like this and nodded. "Very well."
Kayeleth smiled. "Great, now we can head back and tell mother that…" She stopped hearing something coming from afar. Freya heard this as well, turning her head to the sky. Strangely Kera heard it as well. Was it because of her slight better senses even from Dragon Slayers?
"Is someone else coming?" Freya asked glancing at Kayeleth.
"My mother wanted to check up on you as well, but that's not her. It sounds like a couple of Dragons…" Kayeleth spoke her gaze still set in the sky.
Kayeleth's eyes went wide when she saw three Black Dragons heading straight towards them. They weren't part of their forces, they were part of the enemy! "Move!" Kayeleth shouted towards the others.
Freya quickly put her wings around Kera and Wendy as Kayeleth protected the other wizards. The Dragons in the sky let out a roar straight at them. The wings protected everyone from the attack.
Kayeleth growled as she glared at the Dragons. How the hell did they find this place? And where did they come from? Why hasn't anyone spotted them?
Unfortunately she didn't have time for those questions. She turned to Freya. "Get the Humans out of here Freya! I'll distract them!"
"Kayeleth no!" Freya shouted but the white Dragon was already flying up to fight the other Dragons.
Seeing this Kera immediately tried to help, but a hand quickly grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back. She came face to face with Erza. The red head glared. "Don't Kera, you can't reveal your magic or else they will know who you are!"
Kera gritted her teeth. She knew Erza was right, but she wanted to help so badly. She couldn't just let her mother fight three Dragons! An idea popped into her head and she turned back to Erza, a grin plastered on her face. "But I can just use one of my elements." She said her hand bursting into flames.
"But only fire." She whispered to her.
One of the three Dragons suddenly landed down right in front of them. Kera turned to Erza and nodded. "Don't worry, I'll only use fire."
The brunette dashed off, heading for the Dragon. Natsu was right behind her wanting to help as well. Freya saw this and her eyes went wide. "No! What are you thinking!?"
Kera and Natsu both attacked the Dragon with fire, the pink haired boy hitting him in the side while the brunette smashed her fist into the Dragon's face. The Dragon shook his head before growling. It tried to swipe at Kera, but she quickly jumped out of the way. Natsu jumped on its back, trying to distract it. The Dragon roared trying to throw him off.
The brunette took that chance to send an uppercut straight into the Dragon's jaw. The beast stumbled back and Natsu punched him in the back, causing him more pain.
The Dragon roared, having enough of this. It bucked his back, throwing Natsu off. Kera saw this and grew angered. She charged straight towards the Dragon, both of her fists bursting into flames. The Dragon sneered at her and quickly moved. Kera's eyes went wide as she saw him move. The Dragon smashed his tail into the brunette sending her crashing a few meters away.
"Kera!" Erza shouted seeing her being thrown. Quickly she changed into her Heaven's Wheel Armor and charged.
Freya seeing this was confused. Why were these Humans fighting? They have no chance against these Dragons.
Kera crawled back holding her chest. That attack had knocked the air out of her, but she wasn't down yet. She coughed but got back on her feet. Freya saw her and stood in her way. "Stop this."
Kera glanced up at the Dragon. "What?"
"I admire your bravery and stubbornness, but you cannot stand against a Dragon! I need to get you and your friends out of here." Freya told her.
Kera sighed as she glanced at the Dragon beside her. "I understand Freya, but I can't let Kayeleth fight alone. We've fought many battles where the outcome was slim, but we never give up. We also never give up on our friends and family. So you can try all you want but we're not going to stop fighting."
Freya looked at the girl with wide eyes. She was shocked to hear that from a Human. Normally they were scared and afraid of Dragons and fighting them, but these… they were ready to dive in the danger to protect their friends. A smile spread on the Dragons lips. "I admire you Human… you have a big heart."
Kera smiled as well. A noise caught her attention and she turned her head to the sky. Kayeleth was fighting both Dragons, but she seemed to be at a disadvantage. Her injuries were still hurting her and she was outnumbered.
Quickly the brunette turned to the Dragon. "Freya, I have a plan, but I will need your help."
"I cannot do much, but I will do what I can." Freya told her.
She nodded. "Great, just fly me up to Kayeleth. I want to help her fight those Dragons."
"That's dangerous!"
"I know, but I can't let her fight those Dragons alone."
Freya nodded. "Very well… climb on." She told her as she leaned down. Kera grinned and quickly climbed on Freya. The Dragon spread her wings and flew off in the sky.
Erza, dodging an attack from the Dragon in front of her, saw Freya fly up in the sky and she also saw the person on her. "KERA!" She shouted her eyes wide. "What the hell are you doing!?"
"Keep that Dragon occupied!" Kera shouted back at her. "I'm going to help Kayeleth!"
"Kera don't you dare!"
"Sorry but it's already decided!"
"Kera! God damn it…" Erza muttered. Her eyes quickly went back to the Dragon in front of her as he tried to swipe at her with his tail. She jumped out of the way missing the tail by a few inches.
She raised her sword and glared at the Dragon. "You're going down." She sneered as both Gray and Natsu, as well as Wendy and Lucy got ready to fight behind her.
Freya was in the sky, heading towards Kayeleth and the other two Dragons. The crystal white Dragon was fighting well on her own, but she wasn't making any progress. That is why Kera decided to help her.
"There!" Kera shouted pointing towards one of the Dragons. "Fly over him!"
"Are you sure about this? I still do not know the full extent of your plan." Freya spoke, her voice holding slight concern.
Kera simply smirked. "You don't need to worry. Just fly over them and then you can go back and help my friends."
"You intend to jump on them, aren't you?" Freya's eyes went wide.
"Maybe…" Kera admitted.
A smirk plastered on Freya's face. "You are just as reckless as your mother…"
"Yea I… w-wait!" Kera shouted looking down at the Dragon. "You know who I am!?"
"Your scent is pretty obvious. There's only one explanation that you belong to the generation of the Royal Dragons. It was just the question, whose daughter you were. But it's pretty obvious that you're Kayeleth's daughter by the way you act." Freya explained.
Kera grimaced slightly. This was not good. "You're not going to tell her right?"
"My lips are sealed." Freya said with a smile. "Now brace yourself."
Freya flew up into the sky while Kera held onto her scales. Kera felt the wind fly past her ears and she enjoyed it. Flying always made her feel so free. Too bad she couldn't turn into a Dragon and fly herself…
After a few seconds the Dragon was above the others and Kera stood up. She smiled at Freya. "Thank you again for everything." And with that the brunette jumped off, falling through the air.
Freya smiled watching her fall. "Just like Kayeleth."
Kera fell through the sky, falling down towards the fighting Dragons. She moved around in the sky before her eyes landed on one of the Dragons. With a smirk her hands burst into flames. With a loud roar she smashed herself and her hands into the back of one of the Dragons, making it fall slightly.
Kayeleth's eyes snapped to the side as she saw this, surprised to what happened. She saw the fire on the Dragon's back and couldn't believe who was on him. "Are you crazy!?" She shouted towards Kera who was holding on to the Dragon who was trying to throw her off.
"Yea! A little!" She shouted back towards her. Her head was yelling at her, ahem mostly Crystol, that she was stupid and crazy, but she didn't care. She had to help. Her fist burst into flames and she smashed it into the Dragons back causing it to actually howl in pain.
Kayeleth was surprised. She didn't believe a Human would have enough power to fight and actually damage a real Dragon. She must be really powerful.
The Dragon roared and quickly dived to try and get the brunette off of him. Kera yelped slightly as she held onto the Dragon. It soared through the sky trying to shake her off but she held on tightly. This seemed to annoy the Dragon very much. Kera gritted her teeth. "I got this one! Take care of the other one!"
Kayeleth didn't want to leave the Human alone, but she had to deal with the other Dragon. She turned around and quickly dodged an upcoming swipe. Kayeleth ducked down scratched across the Dragon's chest and biting him in the neck. The Dragon howled in pain. The enemy Dragon tried to fight back, but Kayeleth held a good grip on his neck. Her eyes flashed gold for a moment before she quickly turned her head to the side, snapping the neck of the Dragon. It stopped struggling and when she let him go, the Dragon fell down to the ground motionless and dead.
She looked down at the dead Dragon for a second before turning around. As she did, pain shot up her side. She hissed and looked down at her side, noticing blood drip down. Damn it, my injury reopened again.
A cry of pain caught her attention and she turned around. Her eyes went wide as she saw the Dragon slam a vulnerable Kera to the ground. Something inside of her riled up. She let out a threatening roar charging straight towards the Dragon.
Kera groaned, her body burning slightly. The Dragon had gone dirty to win. She had stayed on the Dragon's back, dealing blow after blow, weakening him so he would fall easier. That is until he suddenly smashed himself and her against a tree. She fell off and the Dragon took that opportunity to smash her to the ground.
And it had hurt like hell.
Dragons were freaking strong…
She slowly opened her eyes to see someone moving around above her. She blinked a few times before her vision started to become clear again. She noticed it was Wendy who was above her looking scared.
"Kera!" She shouted a smile spreading across her lips. "You're okay! I was so worried."
She groaned as she sat up. That Dragon really got a good hit on her. Wendy quickly stopped her from moving any further. "Stop, you're injured, let me heal you."
"Thanks Wendy." Kera started with a soft smile. "But… you don't need to use the last of your magic on me. I'll survive."
Wendy didn't look that convinced. "Are you sure?"
She nodded. "Yea… I'm fine."
Her head glanced to the side and she saw her friends still dealing with the other Dragon. Freya was helping as best as she could. Natsu was on the Dragon's back dealing blow after blow just like she did while Erza kept on slashing at it with her swords. Lucy and Gray were giving them back up sending their own attacks at him.
A loud roar caught her attention and she turned her head seeing Kayeleth charging at the Dragon that had smashed her to the ground. She noticed that Kayeleth was furious, because she was charging in without thinking.
She just watched how the Dragon smashed Kayeleth against a tree, before blasting her with a powerful roar. The daughter of the Queen of Dragons hit the ground hard unmoving at first. The Dragon landed on the ground sneering at her.
Kera's eyes went wide as she realized what was going to happen. "No!" She shouted quickly getting back up to her feet right when the Dragon put one of his claws on Kayeleth. He raised his other claw ready to strike.
"NO!" With the remaining magic power she had left, she launched herself against the Dragon that was over Kayeleth. The Dragon and Kera both hit the ground on the side. The breath was knocked out of her as she laid on the ground.
The Dragon on the other hand easily regained himself and stood back up. His eyes landed on the brunette on the ground and he started to grit his teeth. "You foolish Human. You'll pay for your mistakes!"
Kera turned around and looked up at the Dragon. "No…" She muttered holding her chest. "You'll pay for your mistake." A smile formed on her lips as the Dragon simply looked confused. "You should have never left your eyes off of your target."
The Dragon's eyes went wide as he quickly turned around. Kayeleth was standing right in front of him. The white Dragon smashed the other one down to the ground. Kayeleth let out a roar blasting the Dragon back even more.
The enemy Dragon growled as he got back to his feet. His eyes landed on his partner and saw that he was being overwhelmed by a few Humans. He gritted his teeth before taking flight again. His eyes landed on Kayeleth who stayed on the ground. "You are lucky this time. You won't have that luxury the next time we meet. You won't have your mother to protect you then. Regards from Acnologia." With that said the Dragon flew away, leaving his other friends to their demise.
Kayeleth gritted her teeth as she watched him leave, but slowly his words sunk in. Her eyes went wide when she realized what exactly he was talking about. "Mother!" She quickly turned around but hissed in pain. Looking down at her side she noticed her old injury reopened and blood was dripping down to the ground.
"Kera!" Kayeleth turned her head and saw the red head helping the Human back up on her feet. She was holding her stomach and was wobbly on her feet, but she still stood tall. She was actually impressed that she withstood such an attack.
Kera glanced up at the Dragon with worry. "Are you alright?"
"I… I am fine. You saved my life and I thank you for that. But now… now I need to get to mother as quickly as possible." She stated determined.
"Kayeleth you are injured." Freya spoke as she walked towards her. "Your wound has reopened again."
"I do not care! I need to get to mother now! She's in danger! We have a traitor in our midst and I have an idea as to who it is." She said her eyes narrowing down.
"Can you even make it back?" Lucy asked glancing at the injury on Kayeleth's side.
The Dragon simply nodded as she spread her wings. "I will have to no matter what." She flew up into the sky. Everyone watched how she was flinching in pain but there was no way of stopping her.
Erza sighed. "No wonder where you get it from." She muttered slightly.
In the air Kayeleth was flying back towards the headquarters for where her mother discussed and dealt with matters of importance. Behind her Freya with the wizards weren't far behind. The Blue Dragon was feeling well enough to fly back, after being healed by Wendy.
It didn't take them long to arrive and Kayeleth spotted her mother with Narolth. Her eyes narrowed down at the Dragon by her mother's side.
On the ground Narolth was walking beside Kiara as they were discussing something. It seemed the male Dragon wanted to change things.
"For the last time Narolth, we are not going to foolishly launch an attack on them. It's a death sentence. Also the chances of Human casualties are too high." Kiara spoke shaking her head.
Narolth frowned. "But your Majesty! Now is the time to strike! A few Human casualties are nothing to worry about! We can…"
"That's enough Narolth!" Kayeleht spat at him. She had enough of his talking and it annoyed her so much. "We are not risking Human lives for this, even if there is an open window. We are here to protect them."
"We are here to end those Dragons! No matter what the cost!" Narolth shouted back.
Kiara gritted her teeth. "Narolth this is your last warning. Drop this or you will be punished. I will not allow such insolence in our fight. You're irrational thinking will get us all killed! Now leave, I'm done with this." She turned around ready to head to her daughter but it seemed that Narolth wasn't done yet.
The Dragon's eyes narrowed down and a snarl was plastered on his face. "I'm sorry your Majesty, but you're the one who is finished."
Kiara frowned. "What are you…" Her eyes went wide when she saw Narolth descending on her but out of nowhere a ball of fire smashed into Narolth sending him tumbling back. Kiara noticed that it was a Human that had sent Narolth tumbling back.
To be specific it was Kera. She was on Narolth giving him a death glare but the Dragon threw her off. The brunette had landed on her feet but Narolth swiped his tail at her sending her flying back.
Kiara's eyes went wide. "Kera!"
Narolth glared at Kiara. "This is your end Kiara! These pathetic Humans are weak and worthless. You're a disgrace for wanting to protect them."
Suddenly a Dragon landed between the two growling at Narolth. The Dragon's eyes went wide as he saw who it was. "Kayeleth? You…"
"You're little plan has failed Narolth." Kayeleth growled taking a step forward towards Narolth.
Kiara looked a little confused, but then saw how terrible Kayeleth looked. Her eyes narrowed down dangerously as she glared at Narolth. "You little weasel."
"He's a traitor." Kiara turned around and saw Freya landing beside her with the other Humans on her back. "Enemy Dragons attacked us in the Healing Forest. If it weren't for the Humans Kayeleth and I would be dead."
"And one Dragon told me that someone was targeting my mother with the words regards from Acnologia." Kayeleth sneered as she glared at Narolth.
"And there's only one Dragon that was alone with Kiara." Kera said holding her chest as she walked towards them. "And that's you Narolth." She said.
Narolth growled as he glared at them. "You little pesky rats are an eye sore. You shouldn't even exist on this land. It's our land."
"And yet we pesky Humans have managed to foil a plan of yours." Kera shot back glaring at Narolth.
"I knew the moment I met you, you'd be trouble." The Dragon sneered shooting a glare back at the Human.
Kayeleth on the other hand wasn't finished. "You had sent those Dragons after me and Freya on purpose! That mission was a fake! You tried to get us killed! Twice! And now you tried to get rid of my mother! You always hated the Humans and at first we overlooked that because you wanted to get rid of Acnologia as well. But it seems now you have aligned with him. You're disgusting."
"I am trying to protect the Dragons! You and your mother are delusional to believe that these Humans are worth protecting!"
"They are! They are humble and can fight on their own. They have fighting spirit! People like you are a disgrace!"
"Why you little…"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Everyone turned around and saw Kiara stand up straight. Her eyes were glaring at Narolth. "You are a disgrace Narolth. Not only have you sent my daughter into danger and tried to get her killed you also attempted a strike on my life. I cannot let this pass. You are wrong about the Humans. They are the future of this world."
"They are nothing but food! Pests! They don't deserve to live!"
"SILENCE!"
Narolth shrunk back slightly at the glare from the Dragon in front of him. "You Narolth are a traitor. Not only a traitor to us but a traitor to Human Nature. Aligning yourself with Acnologia, disgusting."
"You're the one to say! You're his brother! You come from the same flesh and blood! For all we know you're as twisted as he is!"
Kayeleth got into Narolth's face. "Don't you dare talk about my mother like that! She is kind and humble. She does everything to make sure we are safe. Unlike you."
"You're just a child! You have no idea of what is going on! You're delusional, clouded by your mother's lies!" Narolth moved, charging straight towards Kayeleth. "You've been a thorn in my side for too long!"
Kayeleth's eyes went wide seeing him charging at him. Her injury hurt so much that it stopped her from moving. She'd be too slow. He was about to strike at her but something smashed right into him, sending him crashing to the ground.
Narolth gritted his teeth as he tried to see what had run into him and stopped him from killing Kayeleth. His eyes went wide when he saw Kiara over him, a death glare on her face. "You will not harm my daughter." She sneered, her claws digging into his chest.
Narolth howled in pain as the claws dug even deeper into his chest. Kiara lowered her head to his and snarled. "I would have exiled you, sent you on your way, but harming my daughter was too much. You will pay for your mistakes."
The others looked shocked and slightly horrified as Kiara tore Narolth's throat apart with her claws. Erza had closed Wendy's eyes while Kera had to turn around so she wouldn't throw up due to the disgusting view. Natsu looked a little queasy while Gray simply stood there completely frozen.
Kayeleth had also looked away as her mother tore Narolth apart. She knew her mother could be vicious but she rarely showed that side. The only time she showed it was… well… when she was threatened. And this time Narolth tried to kill her. She couldn't blame her mother for doing what she did. It was self defense… in some way.
"Your Majesty!"
Everyone saw two more Dragons flying towards them. One was a red Dragon while the other was covered in green scales.
The green Dragon landed right in front of them and saw Narolth's body. His eyes went wide. "Narolth…"
"He was a traitor." Kiara told them quickly. "He tried to kill my daughter and myself just now."
"Kaya?" The red Dragon landed beside Kayeleht. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you? Did he…"
"I'm fine Igneel."
Natsu's head snapped up as he heard that name. Now that Kayeleth said that name… his eyes went wide seeing the red Dragon. That was Igneel! His father! He was about to go to him but a hand stopped him. Turning his head he saw Gray shaking his head. Natsu knew why. It would just alter the timeline, or mess something up.
Kayeleth shook her head. "I am fine… I just need a little patching up, but other than that… I should be fine."
"Are you sure…" Igneel started.
Kiara turned to her daughter. "Kaya you need to get yourself checked. I can see your old injury has reopened." She then glanced at the red Dragon beside her. "Igneel, take her to the house and make sure she get's patched up."
"I will your Majesty." Igneel said bowing before flying off with Kayeleth.
"And you." Kiara turned to the green Dragon. "Take care of this body. I don't want to see his disgusting face every again."
"As you wish, your Majesty. I apologize for this happening to you. I hope you and your daughter will recover quickly." He bowed before grabbing the dead body of Narolth and flying it away.
Kiara sighed shaking her head. She turned around to look at the Humans. She was about to speak to them but it seems her granddaughter beat her to the punch. The brunette had taken a step forward and bowed. "I'm sorry Kiara for this trouble. We didn't mean to I…" She stopped when she noticed a bright light. She raised her head and noticed that Kiara had changed into her human form and before she knew it the woman pulled her into a hug.
"Thank you." Kiara whispered to her. "If it weren't for you and your friends my daughter wouldn't be here and maybe even me." She pulled her back slightly and Kera noticed a few tears in her eyes. "You're going to grow into a fine woman, don't you worry. I can see so much of Kaya in you. You're going to be perfectly fine."
Kera smiled slightly. "Thank you."
She turned to her friends. "And you all are great friends. Thank you for helping my granddaughter."
Erza smiled slightly. "We wouldn't have any other friend. She's family to us."
"That's good to hear. At least I know people take care of her." Kiara said chuckling slightly.
Kera smiled at her, but a light caught her attention. Looking at herself she noticed that her body was starting to glow. "What the…"
Kiara smiled. "It seems that you have finished what you were supposed to do." She said while noticing that even the others were starting to glow.
"But wait!" Kera shouted. "I still have so many questions and I still don't know how to change into a Dragon a-and..." She stopped when Kiara put a hand on her shoulder. The woman gave her a soft smile. "Don't worry Kera, you will eventually learn this transformation, just give it time."
The brunette smiled as the glow got even brighter. They were about to go. "Thank you Kiara, for everything." She said. After that the brunette and her friends dissolved into the light, traveling back to their own time line.
Kiara simply sighed after Kera and her friends left. "No… it's I who should thank you." She said where the wizards stood only a few moments ago. "I can see that the future will be perfectly fine. You'll be a fine Queen."
"Your Majesty?"
Kiara turned around and saw Freya walking back towards her. "I hate to interrupt you, but there are still a few things that have to be taken care of after Narolth's betrayal."
A glow surrounded Kiara and quickly changed back into a Dragon. "Very well. Freya, you should rest as well."
"I am fine at the moment, nothing to worry about." Freya told her with a small smile.
"If you say so, then you can help me with a few things, until Kaya is back up on her feet. That is, if you don't mind." Kiara told her.
Freya smiled. "It would be an honor."
Kera yelped as she hit the ground. A few seconds later she let out a grunt as several more bodies landed on top of her. She groaned, her entire body aching in pain.
Natsu rubbed the back of his head as he sat up. "Man, what a fall."
"Get… off… of… me." Kera muttered, being the one at the bottom.
Erza pushed Natsu off of the pile and got up herself. Everyone else slowly got up letting Kera go free.
The brunette sat up and arched her back. "God you guys are heavy!"
"Hey guys look!" Wendy called, catching the attention of the others. "We're back at the guild!"
They all noticed the giant building and smiled. Natsu jumped up with a smile on his face. "Yea! We're back home! No more Dragons that are going to eat us!"
Gray's stomach started to growl and Natsu smirked at him. The Ice Mage snorted. "Race you to the bar!"
"You're on!"
Both boys ran right inside the guild heading for the bar while pushing each other away. Lucy simply shook her head as she followed them. "Come on Wendy, we should make sure those two idiots don't do anything stupid."
Wendy smiled as she nodded and followed Lucy.
Erza on the other hand glanced back at Kera. She was still sitting on the ground. Worried about her Erza walked towards her. "You okay?" She asked. The red head noticed that she was looking at her necklace for some strange reason.
The brunette didn't say anything and that worried Erza. "Kera?" She asked again.
"Yea I'm fine."
Erza raised an eyebrow at her.
Kera was looking at her necklace that her mother had given her. Everything that happened back in that time was still fresh for her. Seeing her grandmother and her mother at her age… Igneel, and other Dragons…
It was too much for her. And receiving the knowledge that she can change into a Dragon… Well… she tried everything and she still couldn't do it.
She felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking up she saw Erza giving her a worried look. "You'll figure it out. Don't worry."
Kera smiled slightly looking back down at her necklace. "Yea…" She squeezed her hand around the jewelry. "I just have to train…"
Erza noticed something on the ground close to them. She smiled as she picked it up. As Kera got back on her feet, the red head handed her the book. The brunette noticed that it was the book Levy gave her about the Dragons and their time. "You might want to read it this time." Erza suggested.
Kera chuckled and nodded. "I'll make sure to read it this time. Don't want this to happen again."
"And who knows." Erza added. "Maybe you'll find more about your grandmother."
The image of Kiara flashed through Kera's mind. She smiled. Kiara was a nice woman. She did wonder what happened to her. Kayeleth never spoke of her. The only time she heard that name before was when she told her that she was actually related to that horrible man whose name she won't even speak of.
Kera sighed slightly, but a smile was still presented on her face. "Looks like it's going to be a long night."
Erza blinked. "I didn't mean that you have to read it all at once, especially tonight."
The Dragon Slayer raised her head and smiled at her sister. "But for the first time I really want to read this book now."
The red head chuckled. Of course, Kera was never really a person for books. Only read them when she absolutely had to. So hearing that she really wanted to read this, it was a nice surprise. "Alright, just don't forget to sleep."
"I won't." Kera said with a smile.
