Maxon's POV
"We're going to get in so much trouble by the maids for messing up the halls." I say laughing as we dance in the rain.
"As long as they don't tell your father then it's fine." She says. I can feel her smile as she has her head on my chest. After awhile of dancing and laughing. We decide it's a good time to head back inside.
"We are going to get in so much shit America." I say laughing as I open the door to go inside.
"Yeah I know! I'm sorry." She says looking at her wet flats. I take her hand and steer her away from the guards, who look at us baffled.
"Are you happy?" I ask her. And she looks up at me clearly confused.
"Yes but-" I cut her off with a hug.
"Then there is nothing to worry about. You're happiness is the most important thing to me, dear." I mumble into her soaking wet hair. She hugs me tight.
"I love you Maxon," She says into my ear, "but I'm not your dear."
"Way to ruin a beautiful moment America. But I love you too. See? It isn't romantic anymore!" She giggles.
"You're overreacting! It's still beautiful." She says blushing. I smile at her pink cheeks.
"Well obviously not as beautiful as you America." I say as I caress her cheek.
"You're making me blush. Can we go now? This is getting heavy." She says pointing to her clothing. I agree because this suit is also getting heavy.
"Yeah I'll go change in your dorm because I don't want to leave you unprotected." I say with a goofy smile.
"Are you sure it's not because your lazy?" She asks me putting her hands on her hips.
"Maybe," I mumble," let's just go. Shall we?" I give her a bow and hold my hand out to her. She laughs and walks off without taking my hand. I smile and run after her.
"You just love to ruin our moments don't you America?" I say teasing.
"Yes, yes I do." She says with a giggle.

I put on a casual royal blue T-shirt and some black jeans. I hear America hum a song in the bathroom. I sit on her bed as I stuff my suit into a bag for the maids to pick up. America knocks on the bathroom door.
"Is it safe to come out?" She says.
"Yeah!" I say back. She walks out wear a white shirt and blues jeans.
"Should we go meet everyone at Zeke's place?" She asks me flopping onto the bed beside me.
"Yeah, I'll text him that we're going." She gets up and looks over my shoulder as I text Zeke.
M- Should me and Ames go to ur plc now?
Zeke replies instantly.
Z-Actually meet us in the yard outside the school. It stopped raining. And it's pretty warm out.
M- Okay?
I turn to face America, she just stares at my phone.
"You act like you've never...oh." I pass her my phone.
"I barely see them. I didn't have much money as others." She mumbles. She inspects it.
"Well you father now makes $200 with every sculpture he does now." She almost drops my phone.
"I didn't know that. Every sculpture?" She says shocked.
"Or painting." She hugs me, but it was mostly like a tackle onto the bed.
"Maxon you a fucking saint!" She mumbles into my ear.
"Well I wouldn't say saint. But I had thought you knew that already about the money." She sits up and I do too.
"No, you and my dad told me that he just got a new job. That's all."
"Oh I'm sorry I had thought he told you." She shakes her head and passes me my phone.
"It's cool." She says with a smile. I suddenly know what I am going to get her for Christmas.
"Thanks. Let's go before they come and get us."
-page break-
"Zeke! Tate? Carter!" I call as we get to the yard. Me and America walk towards a big tree and wait.
"Where are they?" She asks.
"I don't know. I'll call them." I am about to take out my phone when a hand covers my mouth. I turn my head to face America and she is also in the same position, with a hand over her mouth.
"Drop the phone." And I do so not daring to look up. But the voice is familiar.
-Dauntless.
