Naruto: Rise of the Namikaze.
Chapter 36: A father's return, confrontation, and a memorable evening. (Edited 7/8/18)
Note: this chapter is going to be a mix of drama, romance, and fighting. It also has an important plot point to the story.

It was a few days after the defeat of Hidan And Kakuza.
Everything was pretty much peaceful as the sun was slowly rising and a new day began.
Naruto was out with his girlfriend, Jiraiya was at a meeting with the toads, Tsunade was in her office talking with Shizune, and Kushina was sparring with Yugito at the training grounds.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
But, what no one realized was what was happening in Maikeru's secret lab under the Namikaze manor.
In the lab...
Maikeru was standing near a lab table about to proceed with the last step of his plan.
He took the last few items needed and added them in, which caused his experiment to erupt in a flash of silver light!
When the light faded, he opened his eyes, checked the results and shouted, "Yes! I did it! It worked! HA HA!"
Afterward, he took his breakthrough out of the lab with a smile. (Note: I know it was short, but everything will be explained later on.)
1 hour later...
(Character POV.)
"Okay, something is definitely out of place. I was in the Reapers belly and now I've been cast out."
I open my eyes to the sight of me being in my room.
"Well now, back from the dead, are ya?" said a voice all too familiar to me.
I turned to see a familiar face setting down a book.
"M-maikeru?!" I said out loud.
"Indeed. I've quite missed you as well, little brother." he said to me.
(Main POV.)
"Maikeru, what's going on? Why am I here?" asked Minato as he tried to sit up, but a level of pain made him wince.
Maikeru stood up and said, "Easy Minato. You were revived by me when I injected my blood and your spirit into your lifeless body. I made a deal with the Shinigami and your soul was returned to me. So don't expect that you'll be at a hundred percent yet. Rest some more, then we'll talk."
And with that, Maikeru stood up and left the room, closing the door behind him.
He returned 2 hours later with a bed tray of food.
Maikeru sat it down on the bed, went over to a chair, pulled it over to the bed, sat down and asked, "So, how does it feel to be back in the land of the living?"
Minato answered with a smirk, "You took an awful risk bringing me back brother. May not exactly show, but I am grateful."
Maikeru spoke, "Although we have cause to celebrate, time is of the essence. You must listen very carefully to what I'm about to tell you. And just for the record, when it comes to Naruto and sealing the Kyuubi into him, be prepared for the worst."
Minato's eyes widened as he remembered, so he asked, "Naruto?! W-where is he?! What happened?! How long has it been?!"
Maikeru spoke up, "Calm down Minato. Let me explain. This may be a shock for you. 15 years have passed since that terrible night."
He then proceeded to tell Minato all about Naruto's life, all the suffering he went through, how he obtained his zanpakutou Benihime, how he became reunited with some of his family, as well as the whole Uchiha incident, and that their mother was now the fifth Hokage.
When he was done, Minato had mixed feelings, he was happy that his wife and child survived, he was also surprised that the Shinigami had given Naruto such a powerful weapon.
But at the same time, he felt terrible knowing he had caused his son 12 years of agony and that his dying wish wasn't granted.
After what seemed like forever, Minato asked, "Bro, do you think my son hates me?"
Maikeru looked depressed and answered, "I wouldn't put it past him. After what he said 2 days ago, It's more likely that he does."
(Flashback...)
Naruto was at the Namikaze estate talking with everyone, except Jiraiya, at a family meeting.
Kushina asked, "What are you saying Naruto?"
Naruto responded, "What I'm saying is that I have had enough. I have been putting up with these people and their shit for 15 years! And you know what? I'm tired of doing it. From now on, if anyone looks at me the wrong way, insults me, or tries to hurt anyone in my family, I am not just gonna stand around and take it. I'm gonna march right up and I'm gonna kick their ass. And I don't care who knows it either."
Hinata spoke, "I am with you on that Naruto."
Tsunade said, "If you want to stand up for yourself, then that's what you should do."
Maikeru and Yugito were also in agreement as well as Shizune.
Only Kushina, who had a worried look on her face, wasn't so sure.
She spoke, "But Naruto, your father wanted you to bond with Konoha. If you turn around now, it means that the people of this village have won and that you're just as they say you are."
Naruto responded, "What my father wanted means nothing because he's dead. Besides, trying to bond with this village has only held me back and weakened my resolve."
Kushina said, "Naruto, you've got me worried. I think these last few confrontations have gotten to your head, plus you've gotten a little bitter lately. You don't seem to be thinking clearly."
Naruto looked at her with determination and replied, "No mom. For the first time, I am thinking clearly. I don't care about this damn village anymore. If 15 years of trying hasn't changed their minds by now, nothing will."
Kushina asked, "Naruto, what has happened to you? What happened to that loudmouthed child of mine who was so full of optimism?"
Naruto sighed, "That child is gone mother. I can't just walk around with a smile all the time. While there are times to smile, now is not one of them. Do I still love you and the others in my family? Yes. Do I cherish everyone of you? Yes. But I can't act all hippie and cool all the time as if nothing is gonna happen. The only reason I acted loud and optimistic was so that people would leave me alone. I hated them as a child and I hate them now. You better not be trying to take their side over me."
Kushina said, "I'm not condoning or supporting what they did to you. I'm only trying to find the answers here. You sound like you hate your father as well."
Naruto replied, "Because I do. He's the one who sealed the fox inside me and ruined my life just hours after I was born. He's just as guilty as the rest of them because he chose the village over me. What kind of father does that to his own kid?! As far as I'm concerned, he's nothing but a backstabbing piece of shit!"
Kushina didn't like where this was going and wanted to try and talk Naruto out of it by saying, "Well I've always known Minato to be a reasonable man. I'm sure he never really intended to ruin your life and that he had a reason for sealing the fox inside. I understand how you feel Naruto, but maybe Minato was misguided or-"
"Stop." stated Maikeru who raised his hand to silence her. "Don't you even go there about being misguided. I warned my brother about what would happen if he sealed the fox in Naruto. I made it extremely clear what would happen. But he didn't listen. Misguided has nothing to do with it. And besides, if you think it's okay for Minato to make bad decisions because he's misguided, then you're saying Konoha was right to do the same to Naruto because they were misguided. Misguided or not, it's still no excuse. These people had no right or reason to treat Naruto the way they did. They deserve everything they get and more."
Kushina's eyes widened with shock at those words, she had no comeback for that because Maikeru was right.
Naruto asked, "Now do you understand mom? I'm tired of these people and their bullshit. I care about them as much as I care about having an infected scrotum. It's high time these people were taught a lesson."
Kushina was at a deadlock right now.
On one side, she was happy that Naruto truly cherished his family.
But on the other side, she was saddened at the fact that Naruto wasn't so optimistic like he used to be.
However, deep down, she knew that it couldn't be helped.
Even though she spent a great deal of time with him during their trip, which she was thankful for, she still knew that his personality would change as he got older.
She understood he held a great deal of resentment for the villagers.
Kushina was hoping it wouldn't come to this.
But she knew it was inevitable.
Finally she spoke, "I understand what you're saying Naruto. But I must know. Where did this sudden change of yours start?"
Naruto replied, "Do you remember what I told you about during my last encounter with Sasuke?"
Kushina nodded.
Naruto continued, "Well, I do remember his words. "Having too many connections in this world will only lead you astray. It weakens one's ambition. Distracts them from what truly matters." he said to me. It wasn't until afterwards that I learned, that trying to bond with the village had weakened my resolve too. I realize now that my family is more important to me than anything."
Kushina now understood where Naruto was coming from and knew he was right, so she told him to go and stand up for himself, which ended with a family hug.
That same evening, Naruto sent a message to the villagers in the form of a threatening radio broadcast all over the village that said, "I HATE YOU FUCKING PEOPLE FOR LEAVING ME OUT OF SO MANY FUN-FILLED THINGS OVER THE YEARS! AND NO, DON'T YOU DARE FUCKING SAY THAT'S MY FAULT BECAUSE IT ISN'T! YOU BASTARDS KNEW I WAS THERE AND I ASKED AND ALL. BUT NO, DON'T LET THE WEIRD UZUMAKI KID COME ALONG, OH FUCKING NO! YOU'VE GIVEN ME SHIT FOR YEARS! YOU'RE FUCKING GONNA PAY FOR ALL THE SHIT YOU PUT ME THROUGH! MY WRATH FOR YOU MOTHERFUCKERS WILL BE GODLIKE! ALL I WANT TO DO IS KILL AND INJURE AS MANY OF YOU FUCKERS AS I CAN! I DON'T CARE HOW YOU SUFFER, CAUSE YOU DESERVE EVERY BIT OF IT AND MORE! SPILLING YOUR BLOOD AND MAKING YOUR LIVES A LIVING FUCKING HELL, I WILL REVEL AND LAUGH IN THAT SHIT BECAUSE IT'S SO MUCH FUN AND ENJOYABLE! JUST YOU WAIT YOU MOTHERFUCKERS! IT'S JUDGEMENT DAY!"
Man, oh man.
Naruto definately wasn't playing around.
(...end flashback.)
Minato sighed at that, he was sure that Naruto probably did hate him.
Maikeru stood up and said, "I'll leave you to your thoughts."
Minato said nothing even as he heard the door shut.
When he was done eating, Minato put the tray on his nightstand and decided to take a nap.
2 hours later, he awoke and felt his body more rejuvenated.
Minato climbed out of bed and very slowly made his way to the bathroom.
He walked in, took off his white pajamas as well as his boxers, and stepped into the shower.
After 5 minutes, he sensed his brother outside the bathroom.
Minato stepped out in a towel.
"Testing your nerves with temperature, eh?" asked Maikeru from outside.
Minato said nothing.
Maikeru asked another question, "Are you ready to face Naruto yet?"
"I don't know yet." answered Minato, as he glanced at his reflection in the mirror.
"What did I always say about painful situations?" asked Maikeru like it was a simple question.
Naturally, Minato knew the answer to that, his brother never let him live it down.
"It's like waxing body hair. Better to get it over with than do it slowly." Minato said with a sigh.
"Right. I've got your clothes and your gear laid out on the bed. When you're done changing, meet me downstairs. There is still a few more things we need to discuss." said Maikeru as he left the room.
When Minato came out of the bathroom after throwing his pajamas into the hamper, he saw his cloak, his jonin suit, and his weapons on the bed.
After he was dressed, he went downstairs to talk with his brother.
Later that afternoon, Maikeru had called everyone, except Naruto and Hinata, back to the mansion.
As they all sat in the living room, Kushina asked, "Maikeru, what did you call us here for?"
Maikeru stood in the doorway and said, "You're about to find out."
He moved to the side and spoke, "Alright. Come on out."
As everyone watched, a mysterious cloaked figure entered the room.
Before a word was said, the figure removed the cloak revealing himself as Minato Namikaze!
Shizune was stunned!
Tsunade was shocked!
Yugito was most surprised!
Kushina was the only one able to move as she steadily got up and whimpered with tears gathering in her eyes, "M-m-minato?"
Minato looked at her with a smile and said quietly, "Hello Kushina. 15 years and you haven't changed a bit. You're exactly as I remember you."
Kushina touched his shoulder confirming it wasn't a dream, she started shedding tears as she said, "You're alive?! How can this be?"
Minato smiled, "It doesn't matter Kushina. I'm back."
Kushina finally broke out into tears as she embraced Minato and cried, "It is you! I missed you so much!"
Tsunade came over a few moments later.
Minato noticed her and spoke, "Hey mom. Look at you! The Fifth Hokage, huh? Man! All these years and you still look exactly the same."
Tsunade couldn't control herself any longer, she pulled Minato into a hug and said with happy tears, "My son! You have come back!"
Minato just smiled with content as he hugged his mother back.
Maikeru cleared his throat getting everyone's attention and said, "Family's all coming back together again, huh?"
Kushina asked, "Maikeru, how is this possible?"
Maikeru answered, "To make a long story short, because of a deal I made with the Shinigami and a few drops of my blood, I was able to resurrect my younger brother."
No one said anything, for they were just too happy for that as Maikeru introduced Minato to Yugito.
Despite how happy Maikeru looked, inside he was worried about what would happen when Naruto returned.
With Naruto...
Naruto sat at Ichiraku's with Hinata as they were enjoying lunch.
Naruto asked his girlfriend, "Hinata, is there a reason why you don't wear that bodysuit of yours anymore?"
Hinata answered, "Oh. I outgrew it and it just didn't fit anymore. Why?"
Naruto smirked, "I really want to see you in it again. I think you'd look very sexy that way."
Hinata blushed at that.
In a flash, Kakashi appeared and said, "Sorry to bother you Naruto. But your uncle told me to find you. He said he wants you home right now." then he vanished.
Naruto and Hinata were confused but left after paying Teuchi and Ayame.
As they headed home, they wondered what was up.
At the Namikaze estate...
Minato waited as the seconds ticked by, it was time he confronted his sins against his son.
Maikeru sent Kakashi to go get him.
As the door opened, Naruto stepped into the main hall with Hinata by his side.
Everyone else was there.
Naruto spoke to Maikeru, "Uncle, why did you want to see me?"
Maikeru answered, "Because Naruto, there's someone who wants to see you." as a door opened behind him.
Naruto asked, "Who?"
Then his eyes widened as Minato emerged from the shadows, revealed himself to Naruto and said, "Hey kiddo!"
Naruto's fists tightened, he recognized who it was, his face a mixture of shock, fear, and rage as he spoke, "D-d-dad?!"
Minato flinched, knowing full well what that look meant.
"Naruto, I-" that was all he could say before Naruto lunged at him and knocked him to floor, a snarl of anger on his face.
"YOU BASTARD!" he shouted, then proceeded to punch him in the face.
Minato didn't even move, knowing Naruto needed this, and that he deserved it.
The others all watched in shock at what was happening.
Kushina was scared and had her hands on her mouth wanting to stop this as she noticed Minato made no move to defend himself as Naruto continued to land punch after punch after punch.
"You piece of shit! It should've been you! It's your fault! Just because you sealed the Nine-Tails inside of me, my life's been nothing but hell! I HATE YOU!" shouted Naruto as with each word, he delivered a punch.
He was so focused on beating the daylights out his father, he didn't see someone run up behind him.
"Naruto stop!" yelled Tsunade as she grabbed him from behind, "That's enough Naruto! You're going to kill him!"
Those shouts broke Kushina from her shock as rushed to help him.
"Naruto! Please calm down!" pleaded Kushina as Naruto continued to struggle. "I know you're angry with your father, but please understand! He regretted everything he did in the past and he just wants to make amends!"
Eventually, they managed to calm him down, at the same time, Minato, who was being helped by Shizune, managed to sit up against the wall.
His face was bruised, he had one black eye, and his nose was bleeding.
"Ouch! That actually hurt!" he thought as looked over at the 2 women helping Naruto, "But, that's what I deserved."
By then, Naruto stood up, grabbed Minato by his shirt and shouted with tears of agony, "Why?! Why would you ever put Nine-Tails in your own son?! Do you have any idea what I went through because you did that?! The adults of this village looked at me with contempt or hatred and encouraged their children to turn away from me, so I couldn't make any friends! Then I met Iruka sensei, Kakashi sensei, my mother, Pervy sage, my grandmother, my uncle, and my girlfriend Hinata, and I was happy because they all helped me to be strong, and things were looking up! But now the Akatsuki are after me! I had to train harder than before, but even then, I still couldn't stop them from hurting my friends! Arrrgghh! I don't even know what the hell I'm saying anymore! Am I supposed to be happy or mad?! I don't even know!"
No one said anything, knowing everything Naruto said was true.
After a few moments, Minato asked, "How old are you Naruto?"
"15." was his answer.
"I see, 15 already. From your punches, it's obvious you've had it rough."Minato said as he rubbed his bruises. "I'm sorry, I truly am. Although my apology probably doesn't mean much after having put you through what you went through and all that. As per your questions, I'll answer them. After all, I owe you that much."
Naruto calmed down a little more.
Minato continued, "Around the time I met your mother, I was carrying the will and wishes of all sorts of people, in addition to holding something truly valuable, my family. When I learned I was going to be a father, that was arguably one of the happiest moments in my life, and the second happiest moment came when I was named as the Fourth Hokage. But all that happiness came crashing down when the Nine-Tails got loose, I was at an impass as Hokage and as a father. None of my sealing jutsu, minus the Reaper Death Seal, would've been strong enough to seal him. But If I didn't stop him from rampaging, the village would have been rubble and I would have failed as Hokage and be hated long after I left office. I had a myriad of choices as per who to seal the Kyuubi into, but they all one thing in common, loving families that would've been ripped to pieces because of my choice. As a father, I couldn't do that to those families, and I'd be hated no matter which one I chose. And Naruto, assuming, "Well, at least the Nine-Tails would've been sealed and not in me." is what you're about to say, let me ask you this. Your suffering as a Jinchuriki, would you willingly wish that on someone else?"
Maikeru froze, his face a mixture of shock and contempt.
He warned Minato not to ask that question knowing full well that it might send Naruto into a deadly rage.
But once again, his brother chose to be reckless.
Minato paused as Naruto shouted, "Of course I would! Better them than me! Make them suffer for 15 years and see how they like it!"
Minato was angry at that and said firmly, "Naruto! How can you say that?! They don't know any better! Besides, I had a duty to uphold son!"
Naruto roared, "I DON"T FUCKING CARE! THEY DESERVE TO SUFFER AFTER HOW THEY TREATED ME! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU FUCKING SAY! IT"S STILL NO EXCUSE!"
Minato punched Naruto to the ground and shouted, "Then I guess my son is as the villagers said!" as he stormed off.
But before he could reach the steps, Naruto grabbed him in a fit of rage and punched him in the face as hard as he could while shouting, "YOU MOTHERFUCKER!"
With his father's insult at agreeing with the village, Naruto was overcome with hatred and threw Minato straight out the front door with a crash.
Naruto picked up an escrima stick from a weapons display, ran outside and delivered a series of blows to Minato.
Kushina was about to chase them when Maikeru held his arm out in front of her and said, "Don't interfere."
Kushina shouted, "But Maikeru! this is getting out of hand! We need to stop this!"
Maikeru replied in a firm voice, "In a minute Kushina. A lesson needs to learned here. I told Minato not to say that to Naruto. I made it extremely clear. Don't ask that question, because it might trigger a violent outburst. He didn't listen. Now he needs to learn the hard way."
Despite his dad's pleas, Naruto wouldn't relent.
Minato was struck 56 times before Naruto kicked him in the stomach hard causing him to cough up blood.
Naruto jumped 5 feet backwards, stuck out his right hand and yelled, "Dragon Lightning!"
Then a stream of electricity fired out of his hand and began zapping Minato who screamed in pain.
Everyone else was too shocked to do anything.
Hinata was shocked at how angry Naruto was!
Shizune was stunned!
Tsunade was scared!
Kushina was literally terrified! Her hands were covering her mouth as she watched in horror.
Maikeru just stared blankly, only one thought passing through his head, "So, it's happened. Took a little longer than I thought, but it's happened."
Naruto stopped the jutsu and said in a monotone voice, "Young fool. Only now at the end do you understand." and shot another surge of lightning.
Naruto said, "Your useless skills are no match for my hatred." and fired another surge.
"AHHHHHHHH!" screamed Minato as he staggered and fell on his back.
Naruto seethed, "This village has despised my existence from the very beginning. Yet you have the nerve to say that they're right and that I'm a monster?! How dare you. I'll make you SUFFER!" and zapped him again.
Over the painful shocks of the lightning, Minato could be heard screaming in anguish, "AHH! NARUTO PLEASE! AHH! OW! I DIDN'T MEAN IT! AHH! AHH! AAAHHH! AHH!"
Naruto ceased the lightning and smirked, "Interesting experience, isn't it? To feel the things I felt because of what you did? Such a greatly acquired taste. I'll shall serve you some more." and zapped him again.
"AHHHH! GAHH! OW! AHHH!" Minato screamed.
This continued for 15 seconds until Naruto canceled the jutsu.
By the time it stopped, Minato was in terrible shape, he was so wracked with pain, he could barely move.
Noticing what Naruto was about to do next, the others decided to intervene.
Naruto pulled out his thunder kunai, walked over, straddled Minato, grabbed him by his vest and growled, "I couldn't care less what this fucking village thinks of me! But to think that you of all people would judge me as such?! That is unforgivable! Now you die!" as he raised the kunai preparing to stab despite the look of horror on Minato's face.
"NARUTO STOP!"
Naruto turned and saw Maikeru standing 3 feet away from him.
Tsunade yelled, "Naruto please! This isn't the answer! Don't do it!"
Naruto's face was full of rage as he roared, "Don't come near me! Stay away!"
Maikeru spoke desperately, "Naruto. It's not his fault. It's our fault. We're the ones who failed you. We failed you Naruto."
Shizune spoke up in panic, "Naruto please! You've tortured him enough already. He can barely move! You have to stop this Naruto! Please!"
Hinata pleaded, "Naruto, this isn't like you. You've got to stop."
Naruto was still seething as he growled, "Give me one good reason not to stab him."
Hinata replied, "Because if you do, you're the same as Sasuke."
Tsunade jumped in, "She's right Naruto. Is that what you want?"
Naruto seemed to be calming down, but anger was still on his face.
Maikeru spoke, "Naruto, let him go. Naruto. Please let him go. Please."
Kushina was sobbing in fear as she pleaded, "Naruto, please let him go! Please!"
"I'm sorry." Minato said, despite the pain he was in.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, Naruto threw the kunai at a nearby tree, stood up, and roared in all his rage, "Ever since I was a boy, I've been denied everything. EVEN MY REVENGE!"
Then he fell on his hands and knees and started sobbing.
As Naruto cried, Maikeru told Yugito, "Take him to his room." which she did.
After that, Maikeru went over to his battered brother and glared at him, "What did I tell you? What did I say to you? I said 'Don't ask that question.' Now look what's happened! I warned you about this Minato. But no, you wanted to take a chance. What the hell were you trying to prove anyway?!"
Minato groaned as he spoke, "He was being selfish. He can't just wish his suffering on someone else. That would be cruel. Besides, I did what I had to do to protect the village, and I expect him to accept it regardless of his feelings on the matter. He needs to grow up."
POW!
Maikeru punched him across the face and snarled, "Oh really?! What if you were in his position? Would you endure it? Would you put up with it for this long?! Would you wish it was someone else that was suffering instead of you? Would you?! Answer me!"
Minato said timidly, "N-n-no."
Maikeru punched him again and growled, "DON"T YOU EVER TELL HIM TO GROW UP AGAIN YOU LITTLE SHIT! HE HAD TO GROW UP FASTER THAN ANY OTHER KID IN THIS WHOLE FUCKING VILLAGE JUST TO SURVIVE! YOU DON'T KNOW HALF THE SHIT HE WENT THROUGH AND YOU DON'T KNOW THE HARDSHIPS HE ENDURED JUST TO GET WHERE HE IS NOW! STOP TRYING TO ACT LIKE YOU KNOW HIM! YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT MINATO! WHAT YOU SAID TO HIM WAS RUDE, SELFISH, AND UNCALLED FOR! YOU DESERVED THE BEATING HE GAVE YOU! EVERY SINGLE BIT OF IT!"
Minato just sighed, knowing his brother was right, he had no right to judge Naruto so harshly.
Maikeru went over to Shizune and said, "See to the wounded."
Shizune nodded as she and Tsunade dragged Minato in the house.
Hinata appeared and asked, "Is everything alright Maikeru?"
Maikeru shook his head and said, "I'm worried about Naruto. I think we better go check on him."
As he headed inside the house, Hinata hurried after him.
Shizune met them before they went up the stairs.
Maikeru asked, "What's my brother's condition?"
Shizune replied, "His injuries are extensive. 2nd degree electrical burns over 35% of his body, numerous skull and facial fractures, a broken leg, 6 cracked ribs, and severe cuts, bruises, and contusions on his back, shoulders, chest, and abdomen."
Maikeru gasped, "Jeez. Naruto was pissed."
Tsunade spoke, "I think we need to distance ourselves from Naruto."
Maikeru looked at Tsunade like she had grown a second head, "What are you talking about?"
Hinata spoke, "The very idea that he would willingly damn another person's child has got me weary of him. I'm worried that I might need to call off our relationship until he decides otherwise."
Maikeru's serious face returned as he spoke, "I'd rethink that if I were you Hinata. Besides, there's really nothing to worry about. I sensed his emotions when he was speaking."
Hinata knew he was right and asked, "Really? What did you see?"
Shizune asked, "Yeah. What were his feelings when he said that?"
Maikeru replied casually, "Naruto wasn't serious about any of it. I know for a fact he didn't mean it. He was just upset. And we all know he had every reason to be. Besides, when people get upset, they sometimes say things they don't mean."
Hinata breathed a sigh of relief, knowing Naruto wasn't being serious.
Tsunade let out a breath and was relieved that her grandson didn't mean anything, Shizune felt relieved as well and they all went upstairs to help console Naruto.
What they didn't know however was that Maikeru only said that to calm them down.
He knew that Naruto wasn't serious about damning another person's child.
However, he could tell from the look in Naruto's eyes that he had every intention of making life hell for the villagers and making them pay for how they treated him.
And Maikeru had every intention of supporting it, because unlike his brother, Maikeru felt it was high time for Naruto to teach the villagers a hard lesson.
Naruto's room...
Naruto was sitting on the floor beside his bed, crying his eyes out as Yugito held him.
She heard footsteps and saw Hinata come in, she went over to Naruto and hugged him.
Naruto answered, "I was angry Hinata. I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry."
HInata said, "I know. You never meant it to begin with. You were just upset. I love you Naruto."
Tsunade came in next followed by Shizune and Maikeru, who all started trying to comfort Naruto.
2 minutes later, Kushina came in, she had tears on her face and looked very cross with Naruto as she snapped, "What the hell did you think you were doing Naruto?! Do you have any idea how bad your father was injured because of what you did?! You could've killed him! I suggest you go right down there and apologize!"
Naruto yelled at her, "No! He deserved what he got!"
Kushina shouted, "If you don't apologize right now, I am disowning you boy! I won't have you tearing our family apart like this because of your personal feelings!"
Naruto snarled, "So you're against me too, huh?! Fine! I hate you as well mom! Get the fuck out of my life! I don't fucking need you anymore!"
Kushina was shocked, "N-Naruto, I didn't mean-"
WHAM!
Kushina screamed as she suddenly grabbed her right cheek which was stinging.
When she calmed down, she saw Maikeru rubbing the back of his right hand which signified that he had backhanded her across the face.
"M-ma-maikeru- Wh-what are you-?"
"SILENCE!" he roared.
Stunned by the rage in his voice, Kushina didn't say another word.
Once Maikeru regained his calmness, he pointed his right index finger at Kushina and spoke in a calm, but serious voice, "Kushina, you and I are gonna have a little chat. Wait for me downstairs."
Kushina was about to protest when Maikeru repeated, "DOWNSTAIRS."
Not wanting to risk further conflict, Kushina left without a word.
Maikeru returned to help his nephew.
In the living room...
Kushina sat downstairs in the living room waiting for the inevitable.
If one took a good look at her, they would see that her skin was pale, her pupils were were bloodshot, her hands were shaking, she was sweating profusely.
All of which was an indication that Kushina was clearly scared.
She heard footsteps and saw Maikeru come in.
He looked at her for a few moments and asked, "Kushina, what is wrong with you? I need an explanation. What is the matter with you? Your son is having an emotional breakdown right now. We came here to give him some family comfort, not to piss him off even more! I mean, seriously, what were you thinking saying that stuff to him Kushina?! Were you trying to make him even more upset?!"
"No! No!" Kushina said in a desperate, but honest voice as she waved her hands in a defensive manner.
Maikeru asked, "Then what did you think you were doing?"
Kushina replied, "I was trying to make him get over his hatred towards Minato. Don't you understand Maikeru? Our family is divided right now. If we don't make him get over his hatred now, it's gonna tear our family apart even more!"
Maikeru paused, he stared out the window for a few moments as he was deep in thought.
After what seemed like forever, Maikeru replied, "You're wasting your time."
"W-what do you mean?" she asked dreading the answer.
Maikeru explained, "Kushina, listen to me. I know you're upset that our family is a little bit divided right now, and so am I. But there's nothing we can do about that right now."
Kushina was worried as she asked, "Why not?"
Maikeru said, "This is out of our hands Kushina. We can talk to the boy till we're blue in the face, but even then, it's not gonna change anything. This is an issue that Naruto has to work through by himself. None of us can do it for him. All we can do is give him some comfort and advice, but weather he chooses to take our advice is up to him. Naruto has to solve this problem by himself. If we try to pressure or force him in any way shape or form, all it's gonna do is make him hate us, resent us, and despise us. Also, if we keep doing it, it's gonna drive him to a certain point where he's not gonna want anything to do with us. And I ain't risking that. Neither should you."
Kushina was heartbroken that she couldn't bring her family back together as fast as she wanted to, but she knew Maikeru was right.
She started crying harder and spoke, "Why did I speak to him like that? I shouldn't have done that! Now he hates me and won't even want me around anymore!"
Maikeru said softly, "I think you owe him an apology Kushina."
Kushina understood.
The last thing she wanted was to drive her son away.
Kushina raced upstairs to Naruto's room and tearfully shouted, "Naruto! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have said that to you! Please don't throw me out of your life! I'll never do that to you again! Please forgive me son!"
Naruto sighed, "Why should I?"
Kushina cried harder, "Because, I wasn't looking at the big picture. I was so caught up with trying to bring our family back together, I wasn't thinking about your feelings. I should have known better. I made a mistake. I'm so very sorry. Please give me another chance."
Naruto replied, "Fine. But don't you dare ask me to forgive that bastard you call my father."
Kushina smiled with hope, wrapped Naruto in a hug with tears running down her face, and said quietly, "I won't."
Naruto hugged her back.
Timeskip 2 days.
2 days went by, but things didn't seem to be improving.
Minato kept trying to tell Naruto something, but nothing bore fruit.
Tsunade and Shizune managed to heal his injuries, but there would still be a few scars.
Tsunade and Kushina kept their distance, trying to remain neutral, but still helping to encourage Naruto.
Maikeru and Yugito also kept encouraging him.
Despite Naruto's rage and animosity towards his father, Hinata stayed by his side to show that she still deeply loved him.
Whenever Minato walked into a room where Naruto was sitting, Naruto would glare at him and leave the room to go do something else.
When Minato tried to offer Naruto some help in training, Naruto would ignore him and leave without a word.
In short, Naruto would avoid Minato like the plague which put the former 4th Hokage into terrible emotional despair.
Right now, Naruto was sitting atop Hokage Mountain looking out over the village with his hands resting on his knees which were close to his chest.
His anger was still present with tears of resentment running down his face. Hinata was helping Kushina with some groceries at the mansion.
Naruto sat there for another 5 minutes until he heard a familiar voice say, "Hello Naruto."
Naruto quickly turned his head with a rage filled glare on his face, but the glare vanished when he noticed the familiar black leather clothing.
"Oh. Hello uncle." replied Naruto with sadness in his voice.
Maikeru gently spoke, "I thought you might want some company, my nephew. But if I'm bothering you, I can leave."
Naruto answered, "You don't have to leave. It's not you I'm angry with. You didn't do anything."
Maikeru walked over and sat down next to him, then he said, "Um, Naruto. I was going to tell you something."
Naruto huffed, "If you want me to say I'm sorry, forget it! I won't apologize to that bastard!"
Maikeru responded calmly, "I don't want you to apologize for anything. I'm only here to say how sorry I am that this happened. I told Minato not to ask you that question because I knew it would infuriate you. So I would say he got what he deserved, because he wouldn't listen. He had no right to say that to you, regardless if he was doing his duty." he finished with sarcasm.
Naruto shouted, "I don't give a damn about his fucking duty! Being Hokage does not mean sacrificing your family for the village! No leader in the history of this village has ever done something like that! The 1st Hokage didn't do it! The 2nd Hokage didn't do it! The 3rd may have fallen out with his family a little, but even he didn't forsake them! So what the fuck makes my dad think he can do that?! He doesn't love me worth of shit! He ruined my life! He destroyed my childhood! He condemned me to a life of misery and loneliness for these stupid fucking villagers who have despised my existence since day one! Now you tell me uncle! Where is the love in that?! Because I don't see it!" with tears running down his face as he started crying again.
Maikeru was stunned a little, but didn't argue.
He pulled Naruto into his arms in an effort to soothe his nephew's hurt feelings.
Kushina, who was nearby, had heard the whole conversation.
She had a look of sadness on her face, knowing that her son was right, no Hokage in the history of Konoha had ever forsaken their families for the village.
Kushina thought sadly to herself, "Oh Naruto. All that you have suffered... This should never have happened to you. If only your father could see how much pain he caused you, my son."
By the end of the 3rd day, Minato was in a great state of depression.
He knew what he said about Naruto was cold and selfish and wanted to make amends, but Naruto wouldn't even listen to him.
When he learned of his brother's conversation with Naruto, the boy's words drove Minato into further sadness.
Minato was known to be arrogant at times, but he now realized that he made a terrible mistake.
Maikeru had warned him numerous times that night that sealing the fox into Naruto would cause the whole village to despise him.
But instead of listening to his brother, Minato took matters into his own hands, saying the village would look past their hatred and see Naruto as a hero.
Only now, did Minato realize that he was wrong, his son had been ignored and neglected his entire life until Kushina returned, he grew up alone with no one to teach him, and to make matters worse, Naruto was at a point where he no longer cared about the villagers and had no regard for their safety.
When Minato explained his reasons for doing what he did, he had high hopes that Naruto would forgive him and understand.
But that backfired when Naruto chewed him out, beat him to a bloody pulp, tortured him to near death, attempted to kill him, and wanted nothing to do with him.
Why was Naruto acting this way? Minato could not understand.
As these thoughts passed through his head, he heard a noise and saw his brother heading for the front door.
Minato narrowed his eyes and thought, "That's it! That's the reason! I'll put a stop to that right now!"
Minato walked up to Maikeru and kicked him out the door.
Maikeru snorted, "Minato! What the hell?!"
Minato shouted, "You are so fucking smug, you know that?! You think the world revolves around you, don't you?! That we couldn't possibly survive without the mighty and powerful 'Maikeru Namikaze' to guide us through our problems, huh?! Well I got a news flash for you! We got along just fine without you!"
"Oh and this qualifies as just fine?! Disregarding Naruto's well being for this ungrateful village?! Risking the safety of our family?! I mean, come on! What were you thinking?!" countered Maikeru.
Minato growled, "Don't push it Maikeru! You can't expect me to just fall in line again like your little soldier! Not to mention that this entire mess is all your fault!"
Maikeru simply said, "What are you talking about?"
Minato snapped, "You know damn well what I'm talking about! My son Naruto has no love for this village nor any regard for their safety! Plus, he wants nothing to do with me, and thinks only about his loved ones! And it's entirely your fault!"
Maikeru shot back, "How the fuck is it my fault?! As I recall, you were the one that condemned his life when he was an infant and disregarded his safety for the villagers! Furthermore, these people treated him like an outcast his entire life because of your actions that night! So what the fuck does Naruto hating you have anything to do with me?!"
Minato replied, "It has everything to do with you! You turned him against me!"
Maikeru was shocked as he shouted, "What the fuck are you talking about Minato?!"
Minato yelled, "You filled his head with delusions of hatred for the village and manipulated him into holding no love for it! And of course, you forced him to despise me with his entire being! You're the one responsible for this Maikeru! All of it!"
Of course, this wasn't true.
But whenever Minato's plans didn't work out like he wanted, he had a tendency to lose focus and blame others instead of admitting he was wrong.
Maikeru snapped back, "Have you lost you fucking mind Minato?! Naruto decided that by himself! We can't make decisions for him all the time! He's 15 years old and a chunin-level ninja for god's sake! He's not a little boy anymore!"
Minato yelled, "Why can't you tell him to just forgive them and move on?! If he keeps hating them, it'll fill his head with anger and revenge!"
Maikeru snapped back, "You are out of your mind Minato. All those years of loneliness and neglect has already filled his head with resentment towards the village! Naruto told me in his own words that he's done being polite and forgiving! He plans on making life hell for these people. All I've done is encourage him to do what he thinks is right."
Minato was getting more and more angry as he growled furiously, "What do you know about doing what's right?! While I was in the Hokage's office trying to maintain order in the village, you were off playing around with the ANBU black ops instead of helping me!"
Maikeru countered, "Hey! I was training! Training to be a better ninja! A better savior! For you! Why do you hate me for that?!"
Minato yelled, "And whoever said I wanted to be saved?! I'm better off calling my own shots now! Get used to it!"
"You aren't ready! You're impatient, and hot-tempered! And more importantly, I'm better than you!" Maikeru shot back.
Minato took off his cloak, leaving him in his jonin uniform, and laughed as he said, "Oh, you know something big brother? I have to disagree with you on that one!"
With that, he pulled out 2 three-pronged kunais, he held the one in his left hand by the shoulder and the one in his right straight out.
Maikeru spoke in desperation, "Don't do this Minato."
"I'm done taking orders!" Minato hissed under his breath.
Maikeru sighed, then removed his own cloak which left him standing in his tabi boots, leather vest and pants as he extended his claws and held them downwards.
The 2 stared at each other for a few moments before the battle started.
They leaped at each other and clanged their weapons before falling to the ground.
Minato charged and swung his right hand.
But Maikeru blocked with his claws before flipping over his brother.
Minato attempted to kick Maikeru a few times, but missed.
Then he swung his hands left and right trying to strike, but each hit was blocked.
They both hacked and slashed at each other, but neither one would give an inch.
Minato held both his kunai in a reverse grip and tried to stab Maikeru with both of them.
But the calm, calculating Maikeru caught both blades with his claws and used them to push his opponent back.
Minato reversed his grip and held his weapons with the blade out as the 2 men encircled one another.
Minato's teeth were showing as well as rage and contempt.
Maikeru's teeth were also visible, but his face was still clam.
Minato grunted in rage as he charged again.
Maikeru tightened his fists, and waited for the right moment.
As Minato jumped into the air and tried to land a blow, Maikeru blocked and kicked his brother backwards.
He attempted to stab Minato in the head, but intentionally missed hoping his brother would stop.
But it proved in vain as Minato brought both his kunai down.
Maikeru threw up his arms and held Minato in a deadlock.
After 10 tense seconds, using his claws as a prying tool, like he did with Naruto, Maikeru pulled both kunai out of Minato's hands, leaving him totally defenseless!
But Minato wasn't about to stop!
He jumped back and shouted, "I'm not giving up!"
Minato was about to unleash the resengan, when...
POW!
Minato was kicked to the ground by an unknown attacker.
When he looked up, his eyes were filled with fear and shock.
There, standing in her battle armor with the Raijin blazing, was Tsunade who shouted, "That is enough!"
She grabbed Minato by his shirt collar and said sternly, "What's this all about?"
Maikeru spoke up, "He started it mom. Minato accused me of filling Naruto's head with hate for the village and manipulating him into hating Minato."
Tsunade narrowed her eyes and said in the same stern voice, "Is that true my son?"
Minato nodded, "Yes. Why else would Naruto hate me and village? Maikeru turned him against us."
Tsunade snorted, "Which is bullshit and you know it Minato! Unlike you, we actually care about Naruto's feelings. You are an absolute disgrace Minato! You condemned him to a life of loneliness and pain when he was just a baby for this stupid fucking village who treated him like an outcast since day one! And yet, you have the nerve to stand around and tell us that Naruto is the bad guy for hating you and this village even though he has every reason to?! What kind of fucking sense does that make?! You're the one who needs to grow up Minato! You're acting like a little whiny brat! And I'm sick of it! What would you do if you were in Naruto's shoes?!"
Tsunade's words hit Minato like a blow to the gut as his eyes widened, but he was still to stubborn to admit he was wrong.
Tsunade dropped him to the floor and spoke gruffly, "Like it or not Minato, you are completely and utterly wrong! You and the village brought Naruto's hatred upon yourselves! We never sacrifice a member of our own family for the villagers! And until you get that through your head and admit that you were wrong and apologize to Naruto, you can just get used to being hated every day!"
Minato just stared in shock and hurtfulness as his mom and brother walked inside the house.
1 week later...
We now find Minato standing in the bathroom connected to his bedroom do a few last minute cleanups before going to bed.
He stood in his white pajama pants, his shirt was sitting on the toilet seat for when he wanted to put it back on.
As he looked at his reflection in the mirror, Minato's attention was focused on a visibly large scar on his left pectoral.
It was one of the burn scars that his mother and Shizune weren't able to fully heal and said it was permanent.
When he traced the scar with his fingers, Minato froze with a look of fear, pain, and sadness in his eyes, as the memory of Naruto's coldness and brutality was still fresh in his mind, not to mention that his own son had almost killed him before the others jumped in.
After recalling that painful memory, Minato fell down on his knees and burst into tears at how badly Naruto hated him.
Kushina, who had been sitting on the bed reading a book the whole time, heard the sound and went to see what was going on.
She found him on his knees, sobbing and weeping like a broken man who had lost everything.
She also noticed the scar and understood right away why he was crying.
Kushina lifted him up and told him to come to bed, Minato nodded, put on his shirt, turned off the bathroom light, and left.
As he went to bed, Minato was consumed with tears while Kushina tried to comfort him.
Minato asked sadly, "What am I going to do? I know what I said was wrong and I want to apologize. But Naruto won't even let me talk to him. Can it be that his life was really that bad? Please Kushina, help me understand. Why does he hate me so much?" as he cried harder.
Kushina rubbed his back as she replied, "Try to imagine yourself in his position Minato. What do you think 12 years of being shunned, cast aside, left out in the dark, rejected and utterly alone would do to someone? And then finding out that it was your own father's fault?"
Minato thought of that and just as he was about to give in to despair... the truth was coming clear.
Minato finally realized that Naruto had changed in his absence, and he couldn't blame the Kyuubi, or selfishness, or childish behavior.
No.
He could only blame Konoha and natural maturity.
Minato had been an idiot to assume Naruto would just accept his word like a child.
He completely overlooked the fact that Naruto was not a child anymore, he was 15 years old, and a Chunin level shinobi who no longer believed in the village and cared only for his loved ones.
Finally he spoke in sadness, "I guess you're right. I'd probably feel the same way. I understand I was a total blockhead for acting like that towards him. I really want to make things right with my son, but Naruto won't even look at me or speak to me. It's tearing me up inside. How can I even earn his forgiveness much less his love or trust? It's like he'll never see me as nothing but a monster or a bastard. How can I prove to him that I'm sorry?" as tears poured out of his eyes.
Kushina wrapped her arm around him in a gesture of comfort and answered, "Every journey begins with a first step. You just have to figure out step one and work your way from there. I'm sure he'll give you a chance in time, but it'll be a long time before he'll open up to you after all the crap he went through before I came back into his life."
Minato was still saddened, but understood what Kushina meant.
The first step was admitting he was wrong and wanting to make up for it.
4 more days went by until they finally got Naruto to listen to his father.
He was in the kitchen when his mother spoke to him on the issue.
It was a little tense at first as Naruto snorted angrily, "Why the fuck should I listen to that bastard?! You heard what he said to me and now you want me to listen to him?! WHY!? I've got more important things to do than listen to his damn lies!"
Minato overheard the conversation in the living room and sniffled a bit.
Kushina replied back, "Naruto, I understand you're angry with him about what happened, but please understand. He told me the other night that he really wants to prove to you that he's sorry. It won't be so bad once you get to know him. Why don't you give him a chance?"
Naruto shouted, "Forget it! I don't want to get to know him! I don't wanna have anything to do with him! He doesn't love me at all! What he did on the night of my birth proves that. Because if he truly loved me... if he truly loved me, he would've not done that!"
Naruto's words hit her like a blow to the gut as Kushina's eyes widened with shock.
She knew all too well that he was right.
Minato burst into tears at hearing that.
Naruto hissed, "Don't stand around and tell me to act like it's alright! Because it isn't! His fucking reasoning doesn't matter! There is no excuse for what he did! And until he realizes that, he can suffer and die for all I care!"
Kushina was on the brink of heartbreak.
On one side, she desperately wanted to bring her family back together, but at the same time, she didn't want to push Naruto away or make it seem like she agreed with Minato on his actions.
Kushina pleaded with tears, "He realizes that Naruto. His heart is torn because of what he did. He knows he was wrong and he wants you to know he's sorry."
Naruto shook his his head in disbelief, "Why should I believe him?"
Kushina hugged him and answered, "If you don't believe him, then believe me Naruto. I don't want our family to be divided forever like this. I don't expect you to forgive him right away. I don't care if it takes 10 years for him to convince you. I accept that. I just want us to be a loving family. So please Naruto, for the love of your mother and family, please just listen to what your father wants to say. Please. Just please hear him out." as she started to cry.
Naruto sighed, "Fine. But don't think I'm gonna welcome him with open arms afterward."
Kushina smiled and replied, "I don't expect you to my son." then she led him to the living room where the others were waiting.
Minato looked crestfallen as he announced, "I feel deeply regretful for what I did to my only son. And I understand his rightful hate. I have seen his tears and I know it's my fault. I guess this just proves that I was more concerned about the Leaf village than about my family, otherwise I wouldn't have forced my son to live such a terrible life. I know truthfully that there is no excuse for what I did that night. And even though I explained the reason for my actions in great detail, I know deep down that it doesn't change anything, nor does it justify my actions either. Because of my selfish desire to be a big hero, my own family suffered for it. Naruto, I have no right to ask you to forgive me for what I've done and I know that, but all I ask is a chance to make amends. I realize that I can't heal the pain I caused you. I'll do whatever it takes to prove I am sorry for all your pain. I just want to try and be there for you like I was supposed to."
Naruto's anger was still there, but he spoke in a hardened tone, "You want me to trust you? You've got a long way to go before that happens. I don't hate you, but I can't trust you either. How can you expect me to trust you after all the agony you caused me?"
Minato was crying a little bit as he said, "I don't know my son. But I won't stop until you decide that I'm worthy enough to be your father."
Naruto simply said, "We'll see about that, but don't expect me to trust or respect you anytime soon."
"I'll expect you to trust and respect me when I earn it." Minato said with conviction.
Naruto replied, "Don't think that means your past actions against me are forgiven, because I don't think I can ever let that go."
Minato sniffled, "I know that Naruto. I'm not asking you to forgive me. I just want you to understand."
Naruto snarled with tears, "What is there to understand?! You ruined my life! Plain and simple!"
Minato was silent as he lowered his head in shame.
Naruto continued, "I have more reason to hate you than anyone! But I found myself daring to believe in you. All I want to know now, is where do your loyalties lie? With the villagers or your family?"
Minato looked at Naruto with conviction and spoke, "My family. Mark my words Naruto. I don't care what it takes, but I'll prove to you that I love you and that I will be there for you like a father should. All I want is one chance to prove it Naruto."
Naruto sighed, "You want a chance? Fine. But you've got a long way to go before I'm convinced."
Minato replied, "There's also another reason I sealed the Nine-tails inside you. Because I believed you could master it's power and use it for a greater purpose."
Naruto snorted, "Well that's just selfish! Not to mention, a load of bullshit!"
Minato sighed, "Yes. It is."
Naruto hissed, "Now listen up you dumbass jerkhead motherfucker! I have a set of rules that you will follow. 1: You won't be getting a break whatsoever. 2: Every single move you make, I will be watching. 3: If you do anything that concerns the villagers instead of me, I'll bust you up so bad you won't be able to stand up for a month. 4: I don't want to hear anything about duty, the greater good, or the villagers. Do you understand?"
Minato was nervous, but he answered, "I understand."
Naruto said, "Good. Hopefully, this will teach you a lesson about what family means. Now leave me alone. I don't want to be around you right now." and went to the estates private dojo to train.
Maikeru spoke, "Well brother, he gave you a chance. I suggest you make the most of it." and everyone agreed.
Minato asked, "Kushina, can you guys tell me what my son has learned? I need to know what his skills are."
The group spent the next 30 minutes explaining Naruto's abilities.
Minato eyes widened in surprise when Maikeru explained about the Rasenshiruken technique.
Minato had tried time and again to add his affinity to the Rasengan, but never succeeded.
He was even more shocked when he learned that Naruto had awakened his old friend Daijynnryu.
The hardest part was explaining Naruto's sword.
When the group was finished, Minato was at a loss for words.
He had no idea that Naruto had accomplished so much in just 15 years.
It's 6:00 pm, and now we find Naruto at training ground 86, the largest training ground in the village, he was wearing his boots, his tactical pants, and a black t-shirt.
He had positioned and lit torches near the trees in a circular line all around the training ground and he also dug a fire pit, filled it with logs, covered the logs with oil, and got his radio ready as he waited for Hinata to arrive.
She showed up 2 minutes later wearing her sandals and a bright blue tight sleeveless bodysuit as she wanted to impress Naruto.
And impress him she did.
He set off an explosive tag and lit up the fire pit which bathed the whole training ground in it's light.
Then he walked over to his radio and pressed play. The next thing everyone knew was that a guitar riff started to play throughout Konoha.
At the Namikaze estate...
"What the hell is that?!" asked Kushina as she started hearing some strange music.
"I have no idea." replied Minato.
"Lets investigate." replied Maikeru as he and the others in the house went off to investigate.
With Anko and Iruka...
"Anko... do you hear that?" asked Iruka as he sat with her at the dango stand.
