Another chapter, damn I am on a roll! I know they're not as long but it means you're not waiting weeks or even months between chapters! I hope you's enjoy, please review!

Oh and thanks again for the previous reviews :)

Carla: "Meet me at the bistro when you come back, we're bringing the New Year in there" she said to Chelsea who was sat on the couch with her knees up as she tied the laces on her converse.

Chelsea: "I will, will I just text when I'm on my way?" she asked standing up straightening out her blue checked shirt. Her long, dark hair was pulled to the side and held in place with a small clasp, she'd put on minimal make up and had a pair of skinny jeans on to go with her shirt.

Carla: "Yeah but don't be late, no later than 9pm" she said from behind the hand held mirror as she applied mascara to her eyelashes.

Chelsea: "Oh Mum come on it's New Years Eve!" she whined.

Carla: "Fine, 10pm and no later. You arrive with even a sniff of alcohol on your breath though and I swear to god Chelsea" she warned pointing her finger seriously knowing what her daughter was like.

Chelsea: "Please like I'd be brave enough to do that with the moods you've been in lately" she grumbled lowering her voice slightly, but loud enough so that Carla still heard her.

Carla dropped her hands angrily so her face was now visible: "Excuse me?"

Chelsea istantly regretted what she'd said: "Think before you open your mouth Chelsea, think!" she said to herself hitting her forehead with the palm of her hand.

Carla: "In case you haven't realised I've had a lot on my plate recently Chelsea" she fumed.

Chelsea: "Oh yeah and my life has been a right breeze so it has" she answered back sarcastically.

Carla: "I didn't say that" she objected.

Chelsea: "Well do you know what you need to stop sometimes and think that perhaps you're not the only person with problems Mum, and when you go through stuff half the time I am too. Yes not to the same extent but do you think this is easy for me? He's my Grandfather - Kate and Aiden are my Aunt and Uncle, that's not something that just goes over your head"

Carla went to open her mouth but Chelsea cut in.

Chelsea: "Do you know what Mum, I'm not arguing about this. It's New Years Eve and I want to have a good time, I shouldn't have even opened my big mouth in the first place"

Carla agreed: "We can speak about this tomorrow then. Are you going to put a jacket on?"

Chelsea: "No, I don't need one"

Carla: "Yes you do, it's freezing outside" she pointed out.

Chelsea: "Well if I catch the cold then it's my problem. I'm going now. I'll see you tonight" she said opening the door to leave.

Carla: "I'll see you later, I love..."

The door slammed shut and Carla just shook her head before returning to her make up. Chelsea went down the stairs and stepped into the cool evening air, it was just before 6pm and it was already dark. Chelsea shivered but refused to go back up not wanting to give her the satisfaction of being right. She did however feel guilty about leaving the way she did, even when they were mad at each other they always made sure to say I love you. She pulled her phone out her pocket and typed in a quick text before continuing along the cobbles.

Carla had just finished up when she heard her phone beep from the kitchen counter, she went over and had a smile when she opened up the text.

"I shouldn't have left like that, sorry. I love you too Mum xxx"

Chelsea went off to her party with her friends. Kirsty was there too but Chelsea kept her distance not wanting anything to kick off between them.

"Yo Chelsea howz it going?!" the guy said as he walked up and fist bumped her.

Chelsea: "I'm good thanks Josh, how are you?"

Josh: "Yeah I'm cool, I've not seen you in so long!"

Chelsea: "Yeah you were on holiday just before we finished up at school weren't you?" she remembered.

Josh: "Yeah we went over to France to spend time with my Grandparents. What happened between you and Kirsty? Heard you's were over?" he asked genuinely concerned, not just out of nosiness.

Chelsea sighed: "It was my fault, I'm an idiot. I kissed another girl at my Mums engagement party, I'd had a drink and it shouldn't have happened. Kirsty turned up to surprise me and seen the whole thing, and that's been it"

Josh: "Oh that's harsh Chels" he answered shocked, surprised at her.

Chelsea: "Yeah I know, I know. I wish I hadn't done it now, last thing I'd ever want to do is hurt her" she said sadly.

Josh: "Who was the girl?"

Chelsea: "A friend of a friend, I felt bad for her too, she didn't know I was with someone so she ended up hurt too. Honestly I'm still not done beating myself up about it all I feel like such a twat. I miss Kirsty so much"

Kirsty: "I miss you too" she said from behind Chelsea.

Chelsea spun round and came face to face with her.

Kirsty: "Come on" she took Chelseas hand and led her up the stairs away from the party. Chelsea turned around and Josh was stood with a smile on his face giving her a thumbs up. They found a quiet room and sat on the end of the bed, Kirsty still hadn't let go of Chelseas hand.

Chelsea: "Kirsty I am so so sorry I hurt you, I was so stupid" she cried as her eyes started to fill up.

Kirsty: "Shh, I know" she said softly before leaning forward and kissing her. Chelsea kissed her back but soon realised what was going on and she pulled back leaving Kirsty looking confused.

Chelsea: "You're drunk" she spoke sounding disappointed.

Kirsty: "So?" she asked annoyed.

Chelsea: "I'm not doing this when you're drunk, you might not feel the same once you've sobered up. I'm also not taking advantage like that"

Kirsty: "Oh come on Chelsea!"

Chelsea: "No, if you remember this is what got me into this mess in the first place"

Kirsty: "You won't get another chance" she slurred angrily.

Chelsea: "Then so be it. I'm going to head back, if you somehow wake up in the morning once you've calmed down and have a clear head then give me a call and we can talk, I'll see you later"

She walked back down the stairs and Josh was still stood in the same place.

Josh: "Well, how did it go?!" he asked eagerly,

Chelsea shook her head: "She's drunk and she might regret it in the morning. I'm sober and I'd feel guilty if I let it go on knowing she's not thinking straight. She's far too angry and I really think it's the alcohol that's changed her mind, she'll think differently tomorrow and go back to hating me. I know what she's like, but it's fine. I'm going to go home though Josh I'll see you later" she said walking off.

She had just got down the long garden path when she heard the door open and shut behind her and turned to look.

Josh: "At least let me walk you to the bus stop" he said kindly.

Chelsea nodded and the two walked along mostly in silence. When they got to the stop Chelsea was shivering so Josh took his jacket off and held it up.

Josh: "Come on put this on, you're freezing"

Chelsea gladly accepted it and wrapped it around her tightly, smelling the aftershave off it. They were sat back in silence again when Josh eventually broke it.

Josh: "You know, you shouldn't beat yourself up about it too much"

Chelsea: "Shouldn't I?"

Josh: "Nah Chelsea, everyone makes mistakes it's human nature. If you really were a bad person you'd have stayed there with Kirsty, you didn't"

Chelsea felt a smile tug at the corner of her lips: "Thanks Josh, you're really kind"

Josh: "Yeah well so are you, you're always there for me when I need you. I don't want you feeling bad about yourself, you're a good one Chelsea" he said softly as the two of them looked at each other intently. Their faces edged closer together until there lips touched for a second and they pulled away.

Josh: "Sorry, you're into girls and..."

Chelsea put her hand up: "Josh, shut up for a second" she said and moved back in kissing him more passionately as he returned it. When they broke apart they were both smiling.

Chelsea: "Wow" she breathed.

Josh: "Don't get me wrong, that was amazing but I thought you were gay?"

Chelsea: "Yeah, so did I" she spoke wearing the same look of confusion he had on his face.

Josh: "Am I the first guy you've kissed?"

Chelsea nodded and a big grin spread across his face.

Josh: "So basically I turned you straight" he smiled looking pleased with himself.

Chelsea chuckled: "Shut up Josh, I don't know. I mean, that was...wow. But, I know what I felt for Kirsty?"

Josh shrugged: "Maybe you like both?"

Chelsea: "That's just greedy" she said with eyebrows raised, her head buzzing.

Josh: "It happens. Look theres your bus, text me later and you can give me my jacket back when I next see you. I'll see you later" he leaned in again and kissed her and she reciprocated before turning and getting on the bus, leaving him stood waving as the bus pulled away.

"You need to meet me at the bistro my head is fried right now, please Bethany x"

"I can't I'm at a party at the other side of town I'm staying out, what's going on? x"

"I'll tell you when I next see you, have fun, Happy New Year when it comes x"

"You too, I'll be home tomorrow around 2ish, come round then x"

"Ok, see you then x"

Chelsea stepped into the bistro, still wrapped in Josh's jacket. She pulled her hair back from her face and looked around the room for her mother. She eventually spotted Nick.

Nick: "Hey you're here early, thought you wouldn't be here till 10?"

Chelsea: "Is my Mum here Nick I need to speak to her" she spoke desperately wanting to get it off her chest.

Nick: "No she left earlier, I don't know if she's coming back, she was upset" he said looking saddened knowing his fiance was suffering. He'd sent her countless texts but no answer.

Chelsea: "About Johnny?" she said lowering her voice and leaning in closer so she couldn't be heard.

Nick: "No, she forgot my birthday. It's fine I don't care I know she's had a lot on her plate"

Chelsea: "Oh god Nick I'm so sorry! Listen I'll be back"

Nick: "Don't you go doing a runner, just phone your Mum and try and get her here, that can be my present?" he smiled.

Chelseas face relaxed and nodded: "Ok, I'll text her, she'll turn up though I wouldn't worry"

Nick: "What's wrong with you anyway? Anything I can help with?" he asked concerned, eager to offer his help.

Chelsea just smiled: "Do you know what it can wait don't worry about it, let's just have a good night eh"

Nick: "If you're sure?"

Chelsea: "Yeah, can I get something to drink please I'm so thirsty" she exaggerated just wanting to get off the subject.

Her Mum eventually arrived and she left her for a while whilst she spoke to Nick. She saw her go over to Leanne so she approached them both.

Leanne: "You're unbelievable" she spat.

Carla: "Sorry?"

Leanne: "Why him? Why did you have to stick your claws into him cause you know you're just going to hurt him in the end"

Carla: "You mean like you did?"

Leanne: "Oh I don't think you wanna go down that road, I mean forget me, forget Simon, oh wait you already did, a whole pile of lives you've ruined. The guys too good for you plain and simple"

She went to walk away but Chelsea by this point had arrived next to them and grabbed her arm, Leanne turned round angrily but her face softened just a slight at seeing it was Chelsea"

Leanne: "Chelsea, what are you doing?"

Chelsea: "What am I doing? What do you think you're doing? You seem to have a short memory Leanne, what about when you cheated on Peter with Nick? Did you think about Simon then?" she spoke angrily but let go of the grip on Leannes arm.

Leanne: "You're just a kid you don't know anything Chelsea, leave it out eh I'm not arguing with you"

Chelsea: "No you'd rather have a go at my Mum when quite frankly her life is nothing to do with you because it doesn't impact on you in the slightest right now. So how about you leave it out. Come on Mum" she walked away taking Carlas hand and pulling her away.

Carla: "You didn't have to do that Chelsea"

Chelsea: "Yeah well I'm not going to stand there and let her speak to you like that. Listen forget her, forget Johnny, just enjoy your night and don't go home. It's Nicks birthday ok, try and ride it out just now" she spoke gently.

Carla thought for a second and nodded.

Chelsea: "Come on lets go and take a seat away from them eh, I don't particularly want to be around them anyway. It's too hard to be near Aiden and Kate, I don't like lying to them"

Carla looked down at her daughter sadly, realising the impact it was having on her daughter. They went off and sat in a booth talking before Carla went off to see Nick and Chelsea went and stood with Michelle.

As the clock counted down they all stood eagerly awaiting the New Year.

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1...Happy New Year" chorused out around the bar.

Carla and Nick kissed but he could see she was distracted.

Carla: "Listen I'm gonna go, I just want to be on my own"

Nick: "Ok, do you want me to bring Chelsea back with me?"

Carla nodded: "Please Nick, I'll see you when you's come in if I'm still up, I just need some space"

She turned and left leaving Nick looking troubled, his heart full of worry. He turned round and Chelsea bounded over to him throwing her arms around him.

Chelsea: "Happy New Year Nick"

Nick: "Happy New Year to you too sweetheart" he said forcing a smile.

Chelsea: "Where did my Mum go?" she questioned looking around.

Nick: "She's away home kiddo, she wanted to be alone"

Chelsea: "She didn't even say Happy New Year" she said sadly.

Nick: "I know but we won't be here that much later anyway, we'll give her some time then we'll head back eh"

Chelsea looked disappointed but nodded and turned back round and headed back to see her Aunt Michelle.

It was about an hour later and Nick was scanning round the bistro for Chelsea so they could head home when he clocked the small body lying in one of the booths fast asleep. He couldn't help but smile to himself. He went over and woke her up but she was that half asleep he ended up getting her to jump onto his back. She wrapped her arms around and lay her head on his back letting sleep take over again.

Michelle: "Poor kids all tuckered out, not like her either she can normally fight it" she said as Nick walked past to leave.

Nick: "I think it's all just been a bit much these passed few days, she's just drained"

Michelle agreed and went up onto her tiptoes giving the sleeping girl a kiss on the cheek then opening the door to let Nick out.

When Nick arrived back Carla was sat on the couch with her feet up, already in her pajamas with a glass of wine in her hand.

Carla: "Is she asleep?" she asked peering round to see.

Nick: "Yeah she's out, I'll take her through to the room and you can tuck her in"

Carla placed the glass of wine down and followed him through to the room. He stood next to the bed and she was able to lift her down onto it, easy despite her age but because of her small height and frame she was easy to lift. He left the room and she pulled her jeans and shoes off before pulling the covers up over her.

Carla: "Happy New Year baby girl" she said bending down to kiss her on the forehead. She stood for a moment just watching her chest rise up and down, seeing how peaceful she looked when she slept, suddenly aware that she never looked so content when she was awake. She bit back the tears before leaving the room, praying that for both of them things were going to get better, not knowing of the events that were about to unfold.

Ok that's it! I have another week off so I'm hoping to get another couple of chapters in, please review!

Thanks,
