After months of dissapearing I've finally returned with a new chapter...Hope you guys like it.

Weapons are taught to you for protection, not destruction.

Someone once told her long ago, and now it reappears as if she had heard from yesterday.

"We taught you how to handle them is to ensure your safety, so that you could stand up on your own without others by your side, not soaked them with crimson blood."

Colonello words rang in the deepest part of her memory.

"Remember that the Vongola existed to protect people, not killing them."

Forgive me…

With that last words in mind, the girl, now consumed by anger and murderous intent with her gaze locked on the target, pulled on the trigger.

She watched the colour drained away from her target's face as the familiar orange flame blasted right out from the muzzle, and shot upwards to the sky, presenting the dark night with beautiful fireworks.

…upwards?

"Well, that was unexpected."

It was then the young girl realized her wrist had been held high up the minute she pulled on the trigger, and a weight pressured on her waist, pulling her to Mr-whoever-it-is who failed her plan on killing someone.

No wait, she heard of the voice.

Slightly looking up, her golden eyes met with the calm blue eyes she knew, but there was a hint of an upcoming storm in the beautiful colour.

"Now, what do we have here?" The mafia boss tore his gaze away from the young girl as he loosened his grip on the girl's wrist, plus taking away the dangerous weapon in her hand. The girl slightly frowned seeing her gun was taken away, but she said nothing except expressing her confusion on the blonde's appearance, "Gio-san, why are you here…"

"Nufufufu~Enzo's men sent us a message, saying our little guest is wreaking havoc." The familiar creepy laugh was heard and the young girl noticed it was not only the mafia boss had come, "And a havoc she'd wrecked indeed." Daemon grinned setting his gaze on the girl with eyes filled of interests.

"Shut up Daemon." G. glared as he walked up to his boss's side, glancing at the young girl who was still in the blonde's arm, "You…"

"Questions could be asked later, G." Giotto cut off his guardian's word as he looked back down to the girl he's holding; the latter did the same, only the thing she saw was just cement and her own feet. Giotto didn't know if that was an act of guilt or something else, but he definitely doesn't want her to stay at the place any much longer despite she's the one did all this, "Maya, go back to the carriage with Elena."

Maya looked up after hearing his words. She then turned to her target who she failed to get rid of.

"Don't worry about him; we'll take care of it." Knowing what she had in mind, Giotto merely told her and turned her around to the other path, "Go."

Taking a step forward, Maya glanced back to the blonde and the other guardians; except for Giotto, the others were backing her and…are they taking out their weapons? Maya couldn't identify if the guardians actually had some 'things' on their hands since Giotto's cape had blocked her vision. Seeing Maya stopped at her tracks, the blonde raised a hand and waved, as if he's telling her to 'scram'. Slightly frowning, Maya turned her head back to her road and ran towards the woman who had been waiting for her.

Elena quickly rushed to the young girl as soon she saw the petit figure coming out from the dark alley. Maya knew she must had the poor woman worried, so she gave her the most cheerful smile she always had.

"Ah, Ele-san~Gio-san told me that I will find you out here—"

She didn't get to finish her lines when Elena crouched down and pulled her into a bone-crushing hug, surprising the young girl much.

"E-Ele-san…?"

"Thank goodness you're safe…thank goodness…please don't do things like that again…"Elena said softly, and Maya could feel the young woman's fear and worries and she couldn't help but feeling guilty.

"I'm sorry Ele-san…I promise I won't do it again." The young girl said, patting the young woman's back as an attempt of comfort. Her attempts made Elena chuckled, and she pulled away from the girl as her fingers combed her brown-black hair, "Good…That's good…" She said with a doting smile and Maya smiled back.

The young woman then stood up, holding the girl's hand in hers, "Let's wait for the others back in the carriage." And her opinion was answered with a nod from the girl.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Maya officially decide that she didn't like the idea of waiting in the carriage.

Waiting in the carriage means being stuck in the carriage; being stuck in the carriage means she couldn't do anything; couldn't do anything means including she couldn't help the guardians if they are in danger.

Reborn always reminded her of her job as a protector, and even though she's back in the past, she's determined to hold onto this responsibility. She actually wanted to stay at the scene to help the guardians, but it seemed like Giotto had other plans for her—like making her to stay in the damn carriage while they sort things out themselves. If this couldn't be a punishment or torture to a protector, that what is?

As time went for about half an hour, Maya's worries overcome her patience. Standing up abruptly, she headed for the carriage door, much to the young woman's—who had accompany her—surprise.

"Wait…Maya, where are you going?"

"I'm not sitting here doing nothing!"

The young girl's fingers barely reached the handle when the door itself sprung open backwards, and Maya who didn't get ahold of her balance was readied to face the hard cement.

…or not.

"Where do you think you're going?"

An icy cold plus threatening voice whispered into her ear, and the next second Maya found her head had a lovely contact with the frame of the carriage door. The girl sobbed and whined as she held onto her poor head, a round bump formed from the place it was hit.

"Ah ah, Alaude why did you let go of ojou-chan?" Asari scolded softly as he hurriedly went to Maya's side, comforting her and patting her bump.

"…She let go herself." Alaude retorted with a poker face, but who knew that he had a great surprise when Maya came falling into his arms…a fact that he's quite happy until the young girl quickly leave him the minute he scolded her—with soft, threatening whispers that is.

"Tch, just how many troubles you wish to cause for us?" G. glared, but his hand reached for the young girl's head, gently patting and rubbing it.

"You said like you didn't care, but you act otherwise, what a tsundere~" Daemon grinned as he dodged the pink haired's fist attack while scooting towards his girlfriend's side.

"It's okay signorina, we'll get it mended as soon we reached the mansion." Knuckle smiled gently and he patted the girl's head too. Maya looked up at him, cheeks puffed and tears rolling, "Hurts a lot~~"

"Um…yes, we know that." Lampo faked cough with a faint blush on his cheeks, along with the other guardians.

"Just be careful next time."

A heartwarming voice which made Maya froze at the spot as a hand found its way onto the young girl's head. Looking up, she saw the person that she feared to see the most at the moment.

Giotto smiled warmly at her; a little too warm in the girl's eyes, she could practically see the dangerous sparkles around him. She hurriedly scooted over to Elena's side, much to the others' confuse and surprise.

"Oya, seems like someone being rejected." Daemon sneered at the blonde, and G. shot him a glare. Giotto only shook his head, enough to make the mist guardian to keep his mouth shut with an amused smirk.

Fidgeting in her seat, Maya only wished the carriage could go any faster to escape from the silence. She avoided eye contact the best she could with the blonde who had been staring at her since the carriage had moved.

Just get her out of here…

"Oya, what's the matter signorina? Not like your usual chit-chat self." The one who broke the awkward silence was the pineapple-head, and his smirk only went wider after seeing the young girl's glare.

"Daemon…" Elena sighed, pulling onto her lover's sleeve. Sometimes it was a headache to keep her boyfriend to sit still without any havoc.

"Feeling guilty? Signorina, that's not like you, you do whatever you want, and no one can stop you."

"DAEMON!" G. shouted, glaring at the dark green haired as he glanced at his boss and the young girl who tensed at Daemon's words.

"…I do nothing wrong." Soft words came out from the girl's mouth as she continued to stare at the ground.

"Oh really? You think you didn't do anything wrong?" Daemon leaned back onto his seat, completely ignoring G's threatening glare, "You really think so signorina?"

Maya bit her bottom lip. The pineapple head was just trying to provoke her as usual…just ignore him, just ignore him…

"Signorina, you're such a selfish girl."

SNAP.

The last line broke the thin string of Maya's reasonable, and she shot Daemon a murderous glare, hand reaching for her gun only to find out it was not there.

Right, Giotto confiscated it.

Shoot.

"I do nothing wrong." She repeated her line firmly.

"We heard everything from Enzo-dono ojou-chan, though we appreciate what you do, we don't think it's the right way to deal with them alone…" Asari started, but his words were cut off by the angered girl.

"I do nothing wrong! Why am I wrong? They are bad people, they tried to hurt Vongola, I just want to protect what I hold dear most!" Maya shouted; she doesn't understand why everyone would try to scold her, she was trying to protect the family she loved.

"We didn't say it was wrong to protect, we were saying that you shouldn't confront them alone…"

"But Maya is strong! Maya could take them all out!"

"It's not that issue, it's just…"

"Just what? I don't understand! Maya is strong, Maya could take out all the bad guys trying to hurt Vongola, but why am I still wrong?"

Asari was taken aback by Maya's glare; it was surprisingly terrifying, clouded with anger but also with confusion. Her golden orbs showed confidence that she was right, but not completely right either.

"…You are strong, we can see that, but that doesn't mean you could go face the enemies alone."

Voice calm as the tides echoed in the carriage and Maya finally set her gaze on the person she had avoided the beginning of the ride.

Giotto stared at her; his blue eyes were calm and stern, "We don't' know the origin of the enemies, nor their strength; barging in right that could lead you to danger," He paused, and sighed, "You're strong, that's a fact, but it also means a chance that you would get hurt…"

"Maya would not get hurt, Maya is strong!" The young girl cut off her elder's words again as she huffed, "That's why Maya doesn't understand, why Maya is wrong!"

"…You're hopeless." G. sighed, scratching his head in frustration.

"Well, she IS a child after all…" Knuckle chuckled nervously, while Lampo shook his head.

"Nufufufu~Looks like the signorina had a lot to learn~" Daemon grinned creepily, and Alaude said nothing while looking outside the carriage.

Maya stared sharply at Giotto, and the latter did the same, but it wasn't long before he retreated from the staring contest.

"Never mind then," He sighed, "I never knew that you could be like what Daemon said."

Maya raised a brow; what exactly did that pineapple-head said about her again?

…Ah forget it.

Crossing her arms, she leaned back onto the leather seat with puffed cheeks.

She really hated waiting in the carriage.
