Hello everyone! So, I had the best week ever! My Annie production started Tuesday the 3rd and went through the 6th! Four performances! Each time, my character got a standing ovation every time I bowed. My role was Mr. Warbucks, the man who adopts Annie. Main male lead with 88 lines. As a result, no writing could have been even completed, so I apologize. I had my family film my parts and I just might add the links to the regular part of my profile! Anyway, onto serious business, I am now at 10,700 visitors and like two chapters ago I was at 10,000! I mean holy SHIT you guys are f****** awesome! Thank you all so much! This chapter is probably the one that will stick out of all the 36 that preceded this one because I've never felt so involved in a chapter before. This is #37, and I have only nine more chapters left. I almost can't take it! The amount of love I've received for this story is huge and I can never thank my fans enough! You all have made this story so much. I'm almost about to cry writing this... :) Anyway, at the end, after the epilogue, #48 will be an excerpt from Dark Abyss which may or may not be from the beginning of the story or even the end. I think I might just stay on track with the future story chart because I'll only be taking upon two stories at once. Myths of Adventure will be finished hopefully by Mid-January. Please, if you could; check out Myths of Adventure because it hasn't had any publicity whatsoever and since I am nearing the finale I would love to have at least 500 visitors by the time the story is finished. Alright, here we go with Chapter 37, Hugging It Out! And, just to say; this chapter like mentioned above is the pinnacle before the end. The best chapter of all 46 that will be published.
The first instinct I felt was to just slam the door shut and assure everyone that what we were seeing outside was not real but, hey not everything I say is true, and not everything I see is true. So I don't know what to believe.
I can't tell who was more shocked. Lucas was pale and he couldn't breathe. I thought he was having an asthma attack, but he didn't have asthma. Marth couldn't believe his eyes, and Link and Lucario just gave each other the longest looks they could. Only was Pit and Zelda the ones to make us break out of our shock.
"Guys! We'll roast to death standing here!" Pit screamed.
"MOVE!" Zelda ordered. We all scrambled forward.
Lucas ran straight towards Wolf and started yelling belligerently, and screaming incoherent nonsense. "WOLF! STOP!"
Wolf almost fell off the terrace, he was so shocked by actually seeing Lucas, that he was seeing the boy face to face and somehow not undoing his shirt on a silver bed. Then Wolf shook his head and continuing to set the mansion ablaze. "I'll have you in good time my boy. Just let me send your friends to their ashy grave!"
Then something happened that even I, someone who uses magic has never seen before.
Wolf had some chest of some sort, actually more like a cube. He dropped the cube onto the ground, and I watched as some weird metallic substance spilled out. Each metallic liquid began to separate, into maybe a hundred different piles. Link readied his sword and I realized most of the Smashers in my room fled, except for maybe Roy, Pit, Ike, and Zelda. Marth, Lucario, Link and, Lucas always stay by my side anyway. So, maybe we had to fight some things. Sweet. As Wolf burned our happy area to a bloody crisp.
"What the hell is that stuff?" Marth shouted.
Wolf, who had turned off the flamethrower grinned at us. "I made those things. They are called Lades, a form of metal that can wickedly kill any Smasher. They kill other things but, namely Smashers." Then Wolf had vanished. I don't know where but, he was gone.
My attention had to be diverted, to something else that needed attention. These.. Lades, as Wolf called it. We all tensed and charged our numerous defense mechanisms when the metallic substances began to grow, and get larger and larger; till these human-like forms were standing. Each Lade had two silver, gleaming spheres for eyes and mouth that looked like the inside of a furnace. Weapons began forming in the Lades hands, a sword nearly eight feet long had just sprouted in the arm of the Lade near Lucas. Spears, bows, maces and also staffs for maybe magic also sprung up. Lucario and Zelda watched the Lades with fascination.
"If I could just study and that and see how Wolf made it!" Zelda trailed off.
Link threw Zelda an awkward glance. "Well, Zeld, if you don't stop staring at these things as if they're nature of science, they might just study you. By ripping you in half!"
Then, the Lade in front of us, the tallest one finished forming. It held its head up high and screeched. The ones behind it did the same.
Marth and Ike gave each other a terse glance, both readying Falchion and Ragnell. "Ike, let's blow some shit up," Marth said. That was probably the most serious I've ever heard him speak.
Then the Lades in front of us charged. I didn't even blink, as I saw a black sprouted arrow hit Lucas in the chest.
Wolf drummed his fingers across the windowsill, waiting for Dr. Mario to open the infirmary door. He sighed in exasperation and then knocked as hard as he could. "Dr. Mario! Open the bloody door! Do not make me come in there and kill you."
Wolf waited. Dr. Mario was never out for a "lunch break" and he certainly wouldn't be doing it now. Wolf waited even more. Then Wolf had it. He kicked down the door. He needed to see his special person.
Then Wolf saw why Dr. Mario couldn't get the door. He was tied up and gagged against the far wall of the infirmary, Agent Crimstone adjusting the collar of his dress shirt in the mirror. Agent Crimstone looked at Wolf, his smile nearly causing Wolf's bones to freeze.
"Agent Crimstone... I-" Wolf stammered.
The SIA agent held up a hand. "Please call me Kerry." Agent Crimstone's eyes flickered with a mysterious hue.
Wolf reached behind his back for his aura knife. "What did you do to Dr. Mario?"
Kerry laughed. "Well I need to escape this hellhole and I was then going to make my way to find you. Apparently, you wanted to do the same. Kill me perhaps? Well, that won't be happening anytime soon Mr. Prartovach."
Wolf bit his tongue, almost letting out a colorful curse word. "You aren't SIA, are you?"
Kerry gave Wolf a bitter look. "Of course I'm not. SIA is a terrible organization. I've used that acronym as a cover. I'm from the FBI and I've traced and followed you for about fifteen years now, before that kid Claus was killed."
Wolf felt a wave of nausea. "Please don't talk about-" Wolf tried speaking.
Kerry lifted his head up. "Talk about what? The boy Claus? The one that possessed the power you so desperately wanted? Something happen after that fateful event?"
Wolf held out his hands. "I said stop TALKING ABOUT THAT!" he growled.
Kerry lifted his head even higher, and began shouting. "Why Mr. Prartovach? Why does it disturb you so much as to deny history? Face the fears you were made to exploit, face the music that you had murdered a simple-minded child just to get ahead in life. FACE IT!"
Wolf exploded. "I SAID SHUT UP!"
Wolf showed his knife and released a small blast of the aura. Kerry expected such a move so he moved the large hospital mirror in front of the blast of aura. "Mr. Prartovach? Are you really a one-trick pony?" Kerry clucked in disgust.
Wolf threw down his knife in fury, his eyes turning beet red. "You want to see a one-trick pony? Let my teeth rip a hole in your neck!"
Kerry grabbed one of the shards of glass from the mirror. "How odd Mr. Prartovach, that you seem to be so tough, yet there is something in the back of your mind that still likes to toy with you. Let me take a guess, that boy Lucas somehow is going to be your next victim?"
Wolf almost forgot he was standing and nearly fell over. "How would you know that..."
Kerry tossed the glass shard in the air. "I read that book of yours. Marvelous words that floated off the page, yes indeed. Description and action like no other. And then when you started to destroy Lucas's virginity in that cold pallor hall in the book was enjoyable. He enjoyed it! He didn't even mind. It shocks me however though, that although if it wasn't real, I simply would drop this shard of glass and say gotcha. That's not the case, and I have to murder you for it."
There was a pause. "Anything else you have to kill me on?"
Kerry snickered, giving Wolf a smirk. "Actually there is something else. I want the boy for myself Mr. Prartovach. I want him to be my joy-ride. And since you don't like sharing, I'll just skin you alive, pose as you and then have my glorious prize."
Wolf wanted to vomit. This... this person was a HUMAN, who wanted to salvage off of Wolf's own reward. So there came the other laugh, Wolf chuckling so hard Dr. Mario even winced. "Well, sir; I have to say, you can have the boy. Once you pry him from my death grip that is!" Wolf snarled.
Kerry rolled up the sleeves. "Seriously? Well, why not. After all, all's fair in love and war Mr. Prartovach. Out of all people you would know. How about this? Instead of me killing you, I'll kill the boy in front of you then proceed to kill you instead? How does that sound? Got anything to say to me, Wolf."
"LUCAS!" I screamed. Man, I must like screaming his name. Hey, when I see my boyfriend have an arrow sprouting out of his sternum and he's choking.. well I have nothing better to do than running over to him to see if he's alive. Link positioned himself towards me, sending an arrow into a Lades horrendous face. He was covering us.
Lucas groaned something and I thought he was cursing. He opened his eyes, the crystal color still there. "I'm alright. Truly I am."
"How," I scowled. "There was an arrow sprouting from the chest!"
Lucas smiled slyly. He revealed something under his shirt, looked like metal. "Easy, armor."
I frowned, then punched him in the shoulder. "You took me seriously didn't you?"
Lucas shrugged. "Actually, I decided to wear this armor after Wolf stabbed you. So he couldn't kill me if he tried."
Link gave us a glance. "Hey, nice party and all but, care to help save our asses?"
I grinned. "More than ever, Link." I charged up at PK Fire and sent it towards a Lade. What surprised me was that the Lade didn't even seem to be hurt by the fire. It consumed it.
"Well PK Fire is out of the picture," Lucas murmured.
Then, he turned into the holy aura knight. Seriously. A shield of wisps formed around his right arm, a sword the color of a thunderstorm appeared in his left hand and a helmet, an actual faceguard the color of velvet slammed around his face. En garde!
"Holy mother of PK... Lucas you are amazing!" I breathed.
Link almost sent an arrow towards Marth, he was so mesmerized by Lucas. "Lucas, that is so cool. When could you do that?"
Lucas shrugged. "Many years of experimentation. I can also do a bow, a sword, a spear and several other weapons. I'll be tired for about a day or so after this channel. You try making aura armor. I swear, it ain't fun."
Roy shouted at Ike. "I need to find Master Hand, for some odd reason he hasn't come yet! I hope there is nothing wrong. I'm going to go check. Don't die on me!"
Marth rolled his eyes. "As if I'm moving anywhere."
I saw Roy take off. I reached behind my back and grabbed the baseball bat. I swung it once. "Haven't used you in ages. Time to see what a wicker like you can do." Then, probably losing my last ounce of sanity, I ran straight into a new Lade.
"Come on Wolf, I know you can do better than that!" Kerry taunted as he ducked a kick from Wolf, who instead of getting the fake SIA agent's face like he wanted, got Dr. Mario in the chest. Dr. Mario screamed an incoherent word, sounded like an Italian cuss word and Wolf had to apologize to the doctor.
"So I know you aren't SIA, what are you then?" Wolf asked, trying to evade Agent Crimstone's roundhouse kick.
Kerry almost grinned. "I work for the federal government, Wolf. I'm a CIA agent. Actually, no I'm not. I'm worse than that. Trained much better than the petty agents like Link."
Wolf's throat closed up, remembering Link's nasty betrayal. "Link, doesn't even deserved to be said in my presence." he said under his breath.
Kerry lifted his head up. "Ah, Link seems to have destroyed something between you two, hasn't he."
Wolf felt a bitter sting in his words. "He actually just quit on my operation. Just stopped working for me. Left me with all the decisions." Then Wolf felt a searing pain in his side.
Kerry's lip turned into a cruel grin. "Well, one thing you always need to remember. Never get sidetracked when fighting. Like right now." he withdrew the knife from Wolf's side.
Wolf coughed, blood splattering his hands. "How could I so easily forget, that a spy should always be on their guard."
Kerry frowned. "Excuse me?"
Wolf grabbed Kerry's leg and swung the agent to the ground. Kerry landed on the glass shards from the shattered mirror and there was a scream, blood spiking into the roof. Wolf grabbed a medical syringe and stabbed Agent Crimstone in the legs, so both couldn't move. Kerry saw what was about to happen and he tried to swipe a weak arm at Wolf. Wolf grabbed the arm and twisted it so hard, there was a painful sound of dismemberment, as the joint was popped out of the socket. Kerry screamed so loud, the shards which were impaling him in the back shook. Wolf sprung forward and grabbed a patient sheet and stuffed it into the agent's mouth. Kerry spit it out, along with a nice tint of blood.
"Madness I tell you! Madness!"
Wolf grinned. "Well my friend, as they say... all's fair in love and war. As well as death." Then Wolf, using Agent Crimstone's knife, stabbed him in the chest.
There was a split second of just stillness, then Kerry somehow managed to leap to his feet and run right out of the infirmary, screaming. Wolf watched in utter horror as Agent Crimstone went running to the ledge of the terrace and then jumped. The terrace was 60 feet high, above jagged rock formations below. Wolf winced as he heard the sound of a crack against the rocks. Agent Crimstone had to be dead.
Wolf turned to see Dr. Mario finally break free from his bonds. Wolf paused. "Are you going to call the cops on me, Doctor?"
Dr. Mario shook his head. "You a- saved me a- life. I grant you a- this free wish a-. Leave now a-."
Wolf turned to leave and then decided to look back towards the Italian Smasher. "Oh, and if you see Lucas, tell him this for me. I didn't intend for this to happen, and I don't think I can control it anymore."
With the wind, literally; he was gone.
Ike roared one last time as he thrust Ragnell into the last Lade on the staircase. With Zelda and Lucario's help, the fires atop the mansion on the east wing were all extinguished. Ike wiped the sweat off his forehead, his band stained black.
"I think they're all gone." he breathed heavily.
"Hope so," Link said, tossing the arrows back into his quiver, each having the weird Lade material dripping off the arrows.
Marth rubbed the metal coat between his fingers. "Hmm, this seems to be made from like silicon, or even table salt. I'm no scientist but, this is made from elements made within the periodic table."
Lucario examined the substance. "Interesting. This material could almost could be considered shape-shifter. It's a liquid, a fluid. It has high viscosity."
My head hurt. "Do we really need a science lesson?"
Lucario was about to retort with a smart-headed comment when his eyes went big. "Ness! Behind you!"
I whirled around and there was one more Lade, we forgot to destroy it. I saw the figure pull back a slender bow string, an arrow tipped with a green substance. Poison. The arrow was released from the bow. Lucario was about to make a shield to protect me, Lucas was running towards me. Pit got to me first however. The arrow hit Pit in the chest, nothing protecting him from the blunt of the arrow. Then the Lade snapped it's hand back and Pit went flying, his back hitting the terrace wall. Pit gave me a hard look.
"Go, and kill Wolf's motherf****** ass." Then, there was no cry from Pit as he toppled, down the sixty foot drop towards rock.
Marth and Link killed the Lade behind me but, I didn't care. My voice hurt from screaming so much. I raced towards the terrace. I looked down at the cerulean ocean and the rocks adorning the bottom. My eyes couldn't believe it. I saw nothing. Absolutely nothing. No broken body on the rocks, no angel flying towards me, no blood sprayed anywhere on the sandy beach. It was as if the Earth had swallowed up Pit.
Roy saw total chaos before him when he reached the west wing of Smash Mansion, where Master Hand's office was located. Smashers everywhere were fighting. Ganondorf was slumped against the wall, his eyes closed, his body shuddering. Snake had a bandaged arm in a sling, yet he was able to shoot a pistol with dead accuracy. It wasn't working anyway, as soon as the bullet hit a Lade, the material just filled the spot left. In the middle was Master Hand and Crazy Hand. Roy never saw the two hands working together so well. Lasers and destroying earthquakes vaporized the Lades near the two hands while the Smashers created a circle defended the two hands. Popo and Nana were destroying Lades with their hammers, and Kirby and Yoshi just knew how to kick ass. Roy never saw such a move of the Smashers coming together.
Then Roy heard a shocking crunch sound and he looked up to see a Lade trying to saw off a burning beam of the mansion. A laser hit the Lade in the mouth and it fell to the ground where it contacted with Samus's fist. The Lade crumbled. Fox gave Roy a sly grin. "Just watching out for you."
Samus gasped. "Roy, run!"
Roy heard a groaning sound and then there was a huge wooden beam pushing him in between the tile floor. Did I mention it was burning?
Roy felt the floor begin to crack and then the floor gave way. Roy felt weightlessness and then he was dropping like a rock down towards the base cave of the rock formation at the head of the beach. He heard Fox and Samus screaming for help but, Roy knew that no help would come. Roy, dazed then saw extra parts of the floor, each part burning.
Roy smiled, then frowned. Before he blacked out, he realized he just failed Marth. Failed him again.
Well... shocking or what? This is the longest chapter so far, surpassing Mario Kart Extreme, Fate's Punishment, Hard Goodbyes, and Chilling Realization. Now, was this a good chapter or not? Did I uh, overdo the cliffhangers in the chapter? You do realize I usually have one or two per chapter, or rarely at all. I mean, there's only been what, three chapters without one? Yikes. Well, thanks again everyone for doing the best you can to make this story as good as it can be. Love you ALL! Please review! Almost done with the story, and then Dark Abyss!
