The Abridged Arc
Presents
Rayne wished, desperately, to become blind. Hell, she would put money on her fellow pirates wishing the exact same thing. The island they arrived on this time was filled with pink and red and had hearts everywhere. It was like Valentine's Day on crack.
"Do we really need to stay here?" She asked her captain.
"I don't expect any of you to stay on the island while we're stuck here." Law replied.
With that said, Penguin and Shachi saluted then ran off quickly to gather supplies. Rayne was literally two seconds away from following their example when a group of locals swarmed Law and herself. She pressed close to his side to get away from the girl's covered in pink.
"Welcome to Makowa Island! Please enjoy the festival while you're here!" One girl chirped excitedly.
"Festival?"
"Yes! For one whole day, every month, we celebrate the power of love!"
The woman and the man next to her, who was probably her boyfriend, went chest to chest and held their hands out to the cook. With their fingers they made a heart.
"And to do that, we have a festival!" The man finished.
"Law, I have a favour to ask." Rayne turned to her captain who looked very unamused.
"What?"
"Kill me. Please."
He laughed at her. "Why?"
"All this energy and pink…it's torture!" The female pirate whined.
"Oh! I love it when couples travel here!" Another pink-covered girl chirped. "How long have you two been together? Are you going to get married? We perform ceremonies here!"
"Oh God, Law! Make it stop!" Rayne covered her ears.
Law found his cook's reaction very amusing. Part of him wanted to see how long it would take before she snapped and started killing people. But maybe later.
He grabbed one of her hands and pushed through the group that had crowded them. Pulling the girl up by his side, he draped an arm across her shoulders and kept her close as they walked through the crowded streets.
"This is the worst island ever." She complained miserably.
The Dark Doctor chuckled. "We can burn it down later, if you want."
"We don't have to go that far." She sighed. "It is tempting though."
The two pirates somehow managed to find the section of the festival that was dedicated to food…free food. This instantly distracted the woman at Law's side. She walked briskly up to one stall that was serving turkey shish kabob and grabbed two skewers. She handed one to him with a smile.
"Today, my dear captain, we are getting fat."
"I guess the island is saved from a fiery death then?"
She gave him a shocked expression. "Who would ever burn down this awesome island?! Hell, I wanna live here once a month."
The pirate captain laughed as he took the offered skewer.
For hours the two Heart Pirates wandered the many food stalls and sampled, mostly, everything. Finally, they settled on a bench with ice cream cones. Both had chocolate, of course.
Law was surprised to realize that he had had fun. And it was all because of Rayne. She had a strange hold on him that he didn't really mind. Looking back to his past, from before he met the girl, his life seemed plain. Which was odd since he was one of the Supernova. He and his crew caused a lot of trouble, went on many adventures, they were an infamous group of rookies. But all of that seemed to pale in comparison. How had she affected things so easily?
Thinking of her made him glance over to her. And Law really wished he hadn't.
The way his cook was slowly, enjoyably, licking her ice cream cone…
Rayne noticed her captain looking at her so she paused mid-lick to look back at him. The lust building in his light grey eyes made her blush as she licked her lips.
"So I can't even eat ice cream in peace anymore, huh?"
He chuckled in response as he rested a hand on the back of her neck and pulled her close so he could kiss her. Their kiss tasted of chocolate. The cook laughed as she broke off their simple kiss.
"Can I at least finish the ice cream first?"
"I can think of better uses for the ice cream." Law smirked at her.
"So can I." She sent him her own little smirk.
Just the thought of Law under her in their bed as she dropped small amounts of chocolate ice cream on his very yummy body then licking off the ice cream…
She didn't care to take charge in the bedroom but there were some moments when she didn't mind being on top. She frowned suddenly at the thought.
"I haven't ridden you yet."
Law coughed as he choked on his ice cream. When the fit subsided he glanced over at his cook who had that fake innocent expression on her face. Then she slowly dragged her tongue along her dessert.
"You haven't given me a blowjob yet either."
"That's why I'm practising now…sort of. I wonder if there's a Popsicle stand somewhere."
The Heart Pirate captain sighed in defeat. His cook was too good at getting under his skin.

Rayne hummed as she stepped out of the bathroom, towel drying her hair. Law had told her he had captain stuff to do so she took a shower alone, for a change. Upon entering their room, she spotted a pink box with a red ribbon on their bed. She froze at the sight of it, letting the towel she was using rest around her neck. Cautiously, as if the box would attack her, she approached it. She knelt on the floor and folded her arms on the bed.
It was that moment that her captain decided to walk into the room. She heard him chuckle as he approached her.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm wondering who in their right mind would put something pink on our bed."
"Just open it."
The cook reached out and pulled the box closer to her. She pulled at the ribbon, undoing the skillfully made bow, then lifted the lid off of the box. The side facing her fell down as she did so and inside, staring back at her was Oreo. The black kitten was curled up in a tiny ball of fur. He meowed at her before stretching and walking over to her. While all that was very cute, it was the object around the kitten's neck that drew Rayne's attention.
It was a gold bracelet with a single charm on it: the Heart Pirate's Jolly Roger. It looked like black diamond.
The brunette turned to face her captain, who was sitting on the bed next to the opened box. "If you spoil Oreo while he's young, that will set a bad president."
Law laughed as he unclasped the bracelet from around Oreo's neck and held his hand out to the girl. Hesitantly, she placed her hand in his. He pulled her up and sat her on his thighs. He lifted her right hand and fastened the bracelet around her wrist.
The second he was done, the woman pressed their lips together, her arms wrapped around his neck. But she pulled back before he could deepen the kiss.
"How did you get someone to make the charm?"
"With threats, of course."
"Of course." She kissed his cheek. "Thank you, Law, it's beautiful."
Then his cook smiled that sweet, shy smile and he was done for.

I hate pink. No wait. I loath pink. I want pink to die. Can't tell you why I hate it so much. Just do.
