Chapter 38: Smile

"What are you doing out?" A few pirates asked and Haruka gasped. She looked at Sora and pushed him off the boat.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He was falling off the boat and the Princess gulped. She swung her Keyblade and stared at it.

"I hope this works!" Haruka mumbled and threw it in the air. She jumped off and closed her eyes as her hair danced faintly in the wind.

There came down a Keyblade Glider which had white angel feathers with golden designs. The red haired teen landed on her new Keyblade Glider and glided toward Sora who was about to fall into the deep ocean. She caught him by wrapped her arm around his waist as he landed on her Glider.

The Glider disappeared and Sora and Haruka were safely on board the Interceptor.

"Haruka!" Donald and Goofy shouted and jumped on her. She caught them and hugged them back.

"You guys are safe." Haruka sighed with relief and turned to Jack with a smile. She stood up and looked at Sora who stared at her with a cross look. She giggled and ran to him.

"Sora, you're okay." The green eyed Princess smiled and hugged him. But he didn't hug back. Sora placed his hands onto her shoulders but didn't pull away; instead he pushed her away quite harshly.

"Don't even think about it." He mumbled very quietly but Haruka heard. Her smile dropped and her eyebrows furrowed together.

"Sora, is everything okay? You look upset?" She asked.

"I am upset. But, no, I'm not just upset. I feel betrayed. How could you do such a thing after what happened?" Haruka was starting to lose her temper.

"What the hell are you talking about? What do you mean by doing such a thing after what happened?"

"Stop pretending like you don't know!" His voice was rising and the others stared at the pair.

"Pretending? You seriously think I'm pretending. I don't make crap up, now do I?" She shouted.

"Oh, so now you're saying that I'm making things up! That's so low!" He laughed.

"Why are you getting so upset in the first place anyway?" She growled.

"I can't believe you'd be with him…" She gasped as her eyes widened and flashed with anger.

"So you're upset just because Kiru saved me?!" He looked up at her and was about to disagree but she interrupted. "What? Are you jealous or something? He saved my life 3 times, Sora! I see how you don't care about my safety at all." Tears started to fall down her cheeks.

"No, it's not like that. I do care about your safety…" Sora said but she wasn't having it.

"Then why are you getting so upset that he saves me all the time? You thought I didn't notice before, that look on your face and your tone of voice whenever Kiru saves me is so obvious! I may be stupid, but you can't fool me Sora!" Haruka yelled.

"Yeah, I admit I am jealous and that's bad. But what's even worse is that he's our enemy and you're getting so close to him." Sora countered back.

"He may be your enemy and everyone else's but he's not my enemy; he's my hero! He's save me so many times and without him saving me, I don't know what would happen. Without Kiru saving me, I would have been unconscious in the Underworld, dead at the avalanche and raped in that hold! Sora, I would have never thought of you…like this!"

"Heh, look who's talking after how you behaved and what you did with me an hour ago." He mumbled and Haruka's fists trembled with anger.

"What are you even talking about? I never did anything to you!" She screamed and was losing control. Jack held her back from beating Sora up.

"Stop pretending like you don't remember!" Sora snapped. "You were right a year ago and now I regretted what I said, Haruka. I would prefer Kairi to be here with me instead of you; things would have been much better if you were at the islands instead of Kairi." As soon as he said that, he regretted it; one of the biggest regrets in his life.

They all gasped at this but the most shocked of all was Haruka. The tears slowly fell down her cheek and her hands trembled. Her breathing came out short and shaky. She placed her hand onto her heart and felt the cracks getting bigger.

"Haruka…" Sora mumbled and she ran away from him.

She got to a pole where the flag was and hugged it and slid down to her knees. She started sobbing and it turned into crying.

Donald glanced at Sora with the look saying 'Way to go!'. The brown haired boy felt so guilty. His heart was sagging and sinking into a pit of darkness. It was as if Sora was slowly falling further down into an ocean. It was as if he couldn't get up once he fell down. It was like pain and sorrow mixed together in a ball of guilt and regret.

"Be strong if you want to survive." Cloud's words echoed in her mind and she blinked. She couldn't be weak like this over something so stupid like what Sora said. Nothing should be her weakness and friendship shouldn't get in the way of her and her goal.

Haruka wiped her tears and stood up. She took her crown off and placed it back into her pouch. She took out her black bandanna and tied it around her head. She turned around and they stared at her; she was so emotionless yet determined. Haruka walked towards them but didn't look at her friend.

"Haruka." Sora mumbled but she ignored him.

"Captain Jack, where is our destination?" She asked.

"Isla de Muerta, where all Will is." He replied and she nodded.

"Well, we better set sail then, what are we waiting for?" Jack nodded at this and walked to the wheel.

"That's the second time I've had to watch that man sail away with my ship. But I'll be having her back soon enough. " Jack mumbled to himself. Haruka was gonna walk off but Sora grabbed and held her wrist.

"Haruka wait!" She went quiet and waited for him to continue. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that." He apologised.

"I just…I just can't believe you'd say such a thing. It makes me think if you really see me as a friend or not." She mumbled. "It also makes me think if you really value my existence."

"Heh, it would have been better…" Haruka turned around to look at Sora with a tear falling down her cheek. "…if I never woke up in the first place, huh?"

It was like someone stabbed Sora in the heart as his eyes widened and his breath was hitched at his throat. Slowly, she pulled her hand off his and started to walk away.

"HARUKA!" Sora shouted and they all looked at him. The tears couldn't stop falling and she stopped walking but didn't turn around. "YOU'RE WRONG! I DO VALUE YOUR EXISTANCE AND I DON'T EVER WANT TO LOSE YOU AGAIN!" He screamed.

The blue eyed 15 year-old ran up to her and hugged her from the back. "I don't ever want to lose you again; ever again!" He cried and Haruka's bottom lip quivered. Sora took her hand in his and slid down to his knees.

Haruka turned around and saw him holding her hand tightly as he sobbed. She blinked at this and felt her heart ache.

"I'm so sorry, Haruka. Please forgive me, I'm begging on my knees." He said and she shook her head at this with tears falling down her cheeks.

"Sora!" She exclaimed and kneeled down. Haruka wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly. He hugged her back, embracing her with all he had. Donald, Goofy, Elizabeth and even Jack couldn't help but smile at this.

They pulled away from each other and stared into each other's eyes. Sora and Haruka smiled at each other and Haruka stroked his face affectionately with another tear falling down her cheek.

For a moment, Sora turned into boy with blonde spiky hair and blue eyes and Haruka turned into a girl with shorter red hair but the same green eyes. The blonde haired boy smiled at her gently as the red haired girl grinned at the boy she loved.
