Ch. 34

*Courtney POV*

It was after the party and most everyone had gone home. It was just me, the guys, and Brendon. He insisted on staying for the night since he was "too drunk to drive". Even though Spencer offered to drive him back to the his aunt's house where they were staying. Yea I saw right through his little white lie, I thought it was cute.

Even though we've only known each other for a few days, we've become really close. All night we talked, laughed, and danced. Which is weird since I never dance and have a good time, ever. I guess him dancing like a manic helped.

Brendon was laying on the couch with his head on my lap. Him and Joe tried to see who could drink the most without passing out. Of course they both passed out, what was weird though was that they passed out at the same time. I was playing with Brendon's hair when his eyes opened.

"Ughhh, I'm never drinking again," he whined.

I laughed, "That's what they all say."

"I know. What time is it?" he asked with a pouty face.

I looked over at the the clock, which was now on the floor. "It's 3:09 am."

"Oh," he winced, "It feels like someone has been playing soccer with my head!"

"Oh yea, forgot to tell you Pete couldn't find his soccer ball so he used you head while you were asleep," I said with a smirk.

"Hahaha," he laughed sarcasticly, "Doll, could you do me a favor and get some ice for my pretty little head," he said with a smile.

"Anything for your pretty little head," I said with a smirk, running my hand down the side of his face.

I got up and walked into the kitchen. Pete was sitting on the counter eating some leftover pizza from the party. "You know what, the pizza actually tastes a little bit better after a few hours," he said swinging his feet.

"Or a few beers," I said laughing. I reached into the freezer and grabbed a bag of peas.

"What's the peas for? You hungry, there's still some pizza left," Pete said holding out the pizza box.

"No, it's for Brendon's head. He's got a really bad headache."

"Oh. So do you like Brendon?" Pete asked.

I turned around, "Well, I guess. He's handsome and funny," I said leaning against the wall.

"Oh," Pete looked down at the floor. "Well ya know, Patrick's always there," he said looking at me with puppy dog eyes.

I rolled my eyes, "I told you Pete, if I was ever gonna get back with Patrick it would be a long time from now. He's a sweet guy, but I've moved on."

"AHA! So you do like Brendon!" Pete said jumping up.

"Shhh! He's right out there! Fine fine, I like him a little," I said looking away.

"Well don't worry, I'm pretty sure he likes you too," he said taking another bit of pizza.

I scoffed, "Yea think! He makes it totally obvious. I'm like a lawyer with the way I'm always trying to get him off!" I said throwing my hands in the air.

Pete laughed, "Like a lawyer, that's a good one. I'll have to use that later," he said rubbing his chin.

"Well I'd better get back to Brendon," I said walking out of the kitchen.

When I got back, Brendon was the same as when I left him. When he noticed me coming he turned his head and gave me a weak smile. "Thank you doll," he said as I placed the bag on his forehead.

I rolled my eyes, "You're acting like your dying. You only have a hangover you drama queen," I said with a smirk as I dropped onto the arm chair across the room.

"How'd you know that's what they called me back home?" he said smiling.

"Lucky guess." Oh right, he doesn't live around here. That means he'll be leaving soon, I frowned.

I guess he noticed, he smiled, "What's wrong honey? Sad I'll be leaving so soon?" he said with a raised eyebrow. "Don't worry, I'll be living with my aunt. That's actually why me and Spencer are here. I got kicked out of my house cause my parents aren't too happy about me being an atheist," he said looking at the ceiling.

"What? Just because they don't agree with your opinion they kicked you out?"

"Yea well... that's part of why they kicked me out. There was another... bigger reason they threw me out," he said with a lack of confidence, which I haven't seen before.

"What? Come on, you can tell me. What ever it is I doubt it will change my perspective on you," I said giving him a reassuring smile.

He sighed, "I told them I was bi. They are very serious Mormons, so of course they didn't take the news so well when they heard it."

I was shocked, like seriously shocked. I mean, he does dress like he is, but I just thought it was because he was from Vegas! He's such a player though. I looked over at him, it was hard for him to tell me that, I could tell. I walked over to the couch and kneeled down beside him.

I grabbed his hand, "Don't worry, I don't think any less of you."

He smiled up at me, "Good, cause I do really like you Courtney. I think I made that a little clear," he said smiling.

"Yea, you are an open book buddy," I said patting his stomach. He flinched.

"Oh god. Don't do that, I think I might puke."

I laughed and stood back up. "Well, I'm gonna find someone to give me a ride home," I said and he frowned. "What's wrong honey? Sad I'll be leaving so soon?" I said with a smirk.

He laughed, "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow."

I walked through the house, Andy was cleaning up. He said he was too busy to take me home. Pete was too drunk to drive. Great. Looks like I'm walking. I grabbed my jacket an walked towards the front of the house. I opened the door and a cold breeze hit me. I stepped out and closed the door behind me.

"Hey."

I turned around startled, I didn't see Patrick standing out on the porch. "Oh my gosh, Patrick. You scared the crap outta me," I said putting my hand to my chest.

"Oh sorry, you going home," he asked pointing to the street.

"Oh yea. I was just gonna walk since everyone else is either too busy or too drunk to drive."

"Well uhh, do you mind if I walked with you?"

"No, not at all," I said with a smile.
