Hey everyone! It's been a while, but I had decided to take a little bit of a hiatus while I was doing exams and so on. However now that school is over, as well as my birthday which happened just yesterday, I can now go back to writing chapters! This isn't overly long, and most of it is actually one big fight, but I hope that it will get the point across the place where RWBY is right now. Enjoy! :)

Ruby had never been one to have any huge fears. Nor was she one to become terrified in the face of death. However, with the single ursi that stood in front of her, she was completely unable to process any information on anything what so ever. The beast itself was at least ten times the size of the largest ursi that any of them had ever seen. But that wasn't the part that made the four of them and Scruff tremble. As they had seen many monsters of massive proportions in their travels.

What made Ruby absolutely terrified, was the overwhelming presence that was putting pressure on all of them. It was the same as aura's feeling, but completely the opposite. Instead of power surging with emotions and feelings, this pressure was completely formed of the most primal instincts to hunt and fight. Nothing more and nothing less.

This urgency for blood was enough to make any sane person or animal tremble in fear. However they had dealt with many situations where death seemed iminent, and they were still there to fear another day, so it didn't take long for them to regain their bearings. Yang and Ruby activated their weapons while Blake and Weiss took more defensive positions.

They had spent a fair amount of time during their travels fighting together and forulating strategies so that they could work together without communication. This formation was a strategy that was perfect against enemies that were of unknown power.

They had the first two go to the offensive to determine the defensive power, and after doing so backing up and allowing the defensive team to determine the offensive power. It was a strategy that allowed for some risks, but was none the less neccisary. Yang and Ruby started with ranged attacks, testing the boundaries of it's hide. But their bullets never seemed to reach the creature.

The waves of power that eminated from the creature was enough to stop the bullets dead in their tracks and make them explode before reaching the ursi. Although it never actually took a hit, the ursi roared in rage and lunged forward. The defensive team took their positions in the front and took the brunt of the blow. The speed of the attack was slow enough for them to easily block, but the sheer power still sent them flying off of their feet.

Ruby took the opportunity and flashed behind it's back , going too quickly for the beast to follow. She sent her scythe flying into it's back, lodging in the blade. It was a decent hit, but it didn't go in far. Only deep enough to enrage the creature more. There was still many things that the group had to learn about the new form of grimm, and Ruby was about to learn one of these lessons the very, very hard way.

This creature, although still apparently an ursi, was much smarter than what they had experienced. Knowing that Ruby was too quick for any precise attack, it dove onto it's back, surprising Ruby into not moving out of the way fast enough. The weight of the creature fell onto her body, and many sickening crunch noises could be heard from miles away. That was more than enough to make Ruby unable to fight, likely not kill her, but enough to at least put her out of commision.

"RUBY!" Yang's face was crestfallen, seeing the full extent of what had happened to Ruby, as well as the after effects when the ursi stood up. However much she wanted to rush to her sister's side, Yang knew that they had to deal with the immidiate threat before she could be of any help. But just because she was being reasonable, didn't mean that she wasn'y unbelievably pissed, and this could be easily read on her face.

There were two tell tale ways to know when she was pissed.

1. Her death glare was enough to make plants wilt

2. Her eyes were the bloodiest red that could be considered possible

Blake noticed Yang's face, and became concerned that she may try something stupid, but was faithful that Yang would be able to keep enough cool to not get herself killed. Such hopes were not to be fulfilled. The yellow haired brawler sent herself flying forwards, blasting through the air so fast that it seemed more like a yellow and crimson flash than a sprinting girl. As she made her way into the ursi, she sent off two ore shots behind her and slammed her shoulder into it's gut, making the both of them go flying backwards.

Both Weiss and Blake had guessed something like this would happen, and had formulated a plan to get Yang out long enough to not get herself killed, as well as defeating the ursi. Blake ran forward, dashing back and forth to make the ursi follow her, as it did. She jumped onto the creature's back, then slid to it's waist, kicking it in the stomach, and back flipped off. However the retreat had been seen through.

The creature swung it's massive arms together in a strike above it's head into the place where a flipping Blake was waiting.

'Perfect.' It was only a moment later that Blake sent her gun blade flying into the creatures shoulder and pulled herself up. The two ham fists slammed into the ground where she was, but were incased in ice only moments later. The awkward position that it was in didn't allow the ursi enough leverage to break itself free from the trap.

Blake moved Yang off to the side, where she could take a moment to breath. After ten minutes of trying several strategies to kill the ursi, none of which working, Weiss threw her hands into the air in defiance.

"How the hell do you kill this lugg?" She hopped onto it's slumped back, and hearing it growl, Weiss stuck out her tongue at the creature. Yang laughed.

"I think that Ruby may have effected you more than you think she has." Weiss' reply was similar to the one that she gave the ursi. "Speaking of which I'mm going to try and wake her up now." Blake and Weiss nodded, before turning back to the ursi. Yang walked over to her unconscious sister, and crouched down beside her.

Yang gave her a gentle shake, trying not to hurt any of her damaged bones. Ruby gave a short breathe, but shot up as a thundering crashing sound cracked through the air. Yang turned back to see the ursi smashing the ice bounds that held it. Not having time to question how this could be possible, she dove forwards in an attempt to block a flying swing. But her movements were too slow, and Weiss' back crumpled around the giant paw that flew into her body.

The lifeless heap of Weiss was sent flying into a nearby rock. Ruby, being conscious enough to see this, was instantly enveloped in a cloak of rage. The anger that poured through her body was seething in large tendrils around her glowing red aura. In only moments the familiar pink pressence was standing next to her.

The broken bones and punctured organs were repaired, flesh being replaced with anger. Ruby jumped onto her feet, staring the creature head on. Who returned her gaze steadily. Blake ran to Weiss' side, attempting to help the girl. Ruby's movements were unreadable, using to apparent pattern or rythm. She moved quickly and deadly, going to everywhere that the ursi was not looking. Crescent Rose was whistling through the air at all times, looking for a weakness in the ursi's defenses. But the ursi had also changed, it moved much faster than it did before, and seemed to see her attacks before they could do any harm.

Each swing was effortlessly tossed aside by a massive claw. This however only increased Ruby's rage. Her scythe became darker and more malovent the angrier she became. The edges became serated and barbed. The side had twisted horns that spiked out of it in every direction, and blades that extruded on each. Finally the handle became pronged, turning the scythe almost into a trident and rage.

The whizzing through the air became faster constantly, blurring into one solid noise of movement. But the ursi was just too fast, the more powerful Ruby became, the more powerful it did too.

'STOP IT.' Pink Ruby's warning was ignored as Ruby swung faster and faster each second, sense taking a back seat to anger. 'It's feeding off your power. It's absolute lack of an aura is absorbing yours, the more you use the more powerful it becomes!'

'What do you want me to do, just let it go, after hurting Weiss?'

'You won't be able to kill it this way, I can garuntee that.' Ruby was not happy about it, but had no choice but to accept what Pink Ruby had said. But it was too late, the ursi had already absorbed a massive amount of her power. It shot forward with godly speed and swiped Ruby off to the side. As it moved to continue it's rampage, Pink Ruby moved into it's way and swung quickly to defend agaist each of it's attacks.

Although it was too fast to land a hit on, Ruby was too fast to be able to either. Defending takes actual movement than an attack, so can be done faster. Her sheer will to protect the others was enough to keep her footing against the powerful attacks, using her own power to push them back. She had kept the creature busy long enough for Ruby too get back into the fight, landing a sneak attack into the ursi's back.

Her blade was made no longer made of any form of metal, only anger, so it found piercing the hide much easier, and the scythe sunk deep into the creatures back. It reared back in pain and roared menacingly. It was clear that the swing was not enough alone to kill it. Pink Ruby took the opportunity to dash to the left while Ruby dashed to the right. Each of them leapt into the air and took a series of swings at either side of the ursi.

The speed at which this battle took place was surreal, and made anyone else unable to comprehend anything that was happening. Since almost the fight started between the two, Yang had been trying to fire shots into the ursi, but the three of them were moving so quickly that not a single bullet had managed to find a home.

During their flurry of exchanges, Ruby had misread one of the ursi's attacks. Thinking even faster than it had before, the creature took full advantage of her mistake and sent a claw clean through her stomach, coming out the other side. Pink Ruby went to her side, but was no longer able to deal with the creature on her own as it was taking in aura at double the speed at they were fighting.

In only moments Pink Ruby had also become pierced, and fell to the ground. Neither one of them were able to keep enough of a steady consciousness to heal properly, and soon they both fell into a flat blackness. Knowing that it's only challenge had been defeated, the ursi turned on Yang, with an almost smirk on it's face.

The creature charged forward, set on killing each and every one of them. Only to be sent flying off it's feet. Regaining it's composure, the ursi looked up, into the massive beak of an even more oppresive nevermore. The ursi had taken in much more aura than the bird had in it's entire life, however the natural power of the nevermore was enough to keep it's own in their fight easily.

The two grimm fought over the rights for the prey, constantly trading blows back and forth. The pressure of the battle was enough for Yang and Blake to take cover.

"We have to get out of here while they're distracted!" Yang nodded and moved over to Ruby, who had become one again. She pcked her up and looked over to Blake, who as carrying Weiss. They nodded and started running away from the gruesome fight. At the rate that they were going, neither of them were at all sure that either grimm would survive that fight, but it didn't matter. They just had to get to safety.

After more than two hours of running with only a few extremely short breaks. They managed to come across a small enough cave that no grimm would be able to fit, never mind sleep or live. They set down the two girls, and Yang moved over to Weiss. After a moment of testing her vitals, she sat back.

"Alive, but barely." Blake sighed a breath of relief."

"Thank god, she may be a prick sometimes, but I don't know how life woud be without her." Weiss coughed and moved her head slightly.

"Who *cough*, do you think you're calling a prick?"

"Weiss you're awake!"

"No kidding numbskull." Yang stuck out her tongue.

"You don't have to be such a prude."

"Now you're calling me a prude?!"

"No kidding numbskull." Weiss raised her hands in defeat.

"Alright alright. So what happened after I passed out?" Yang's face fell, and gestured to Ruby. Who was currently breathing in ragged breaths that were uneven and had no pattern. Weiss nodded, somewhat understanding. "So she killed it? I have to know what that asshole's weak point is." Yang's face fell a little but more.

"She lost."

"What? How could she lose?"

"I don't know, they were moving too quickly for me to see anything that was happening. But she ended up getting speared through the stomach, " She moved aside the ripped fabric that they had covered the wound in. " the only reason we made it out of there is because a nevermore came in and started fighting the ursi. We just used that as a distraction to get out of there."

Weiss nodded, resting back into her small nook.

"Well it may be a while before we can get moving again. I think my back is a little broken."

"HOW CAN IT BE A LITTLE BROKEN?!" Weiss shrugged.

"It is more of a fracture than a break. The fact that I can move at all means it missed my inner spinal chord." Yang's concerned face didn't lift, making Weiss sigh, but they didn't say anything more. It was pretty obvious that Weiss was being strong to not show her pain. But both Blake and Yang were also very tired, so they settled down as well. Within a few minutes, everyone but Weiss was sleeping. '...That hurt like a son of a bitch...'

So there you have it. Right now, even Ruby in her rage mode can't kill a single ursi. Now go reconsider your existence... But not before leaving reviews and such. :) See ya next time everyone.
