Thank you vanillatwilight208! :D
I really, really wish Richelle would give us some kind of epilogue to Romitri's story. Maybe one that showed their life 5 or 10 years from now...?

Drabble: 38

POV: Third Person

Lissa giggled.

She had never, ever seen this side of Rose.

Yeah, Rose always acted mushy and giggly and sweet around Dimitri.
So sweet that Lissa felt like brushing her teeth a dozen times everyday.

Then there was the way Rose acted around Dimitri's niece and nephew.
She would laugh with them and cuddle them, and read them bedtime stories, something very, very fascinating to watch. But behind the big grin, and the motherly behavior was the sadness in her eyes, because she could never have that part of her life.
Motherhood.
Those were the times Lissa truly felt pity for her friend, hearing her sob at night in Dimitri's arms, blaming herself for depriving him of the kids he could have.

Those were the only times Lissa had ever seen her friend go googly-eyed over something.

But today, today was different.
Rose held the tiny, furry creature in her arms, speaking to it softly, and even singing it some Disney songs and nursery rhymes.
She held it with pride, because it was the first animal that had ever reacted this way to a dhampir.
She looked at it with love, because it was a substitute for the children she would never have, something to love in their place.
She cuddled it with a sense of peace in her mind, and a bit of astonishment, because this was another miracle, one of many in her life.

Lissa sighed, touching the Guinea Pig's soft cheek, and smiling up at Rose.
Rose was happy.
Truly happy.

Lissa could never want anything more.

Poor Rose. :( I mean, seriously, why should dhampirs be the ones who can't reproduce with each other? Sigh.
Oh yeah, I think this was my first drabble with only Lissa and Rose...? What do you think? Like it? Or not?
BTW, this prompt reminded me of the teacup pig from How I Met Your Mother. That piglet was the most adorable thing I have ever seen! :D :3
