This is clearly not the long chapter I promised… Well, the Humphrey and Katherine's talk took me too much time… to finish. (I tried to make Humphrey act weird, but not too weird.) So I decided to publish this first…

And I am very tired recently... and might made some mistakes.

So... If you found out there are something didn't make sense...tell me...

Problems

Humphrey suddenly turned around. And stopped in front of Katherine. His face was expressionless as usual. Which made Katherine couldn't know what was he thinking, or what he's feeling.

"What?" She asked. And started looking around.

"Nothing." Humphrey shook his head and turned back walking.

Katherine followed. None of them talked, until Humphrey stopped again.

"Ok." He said. "How do you think of me." He asked without turning.

"What?" This is a question Katherine never expected to hear.

"Sorry, I mean what do you know about me? Hum… when we are still young." Humphrey soon realized his mistake. "We are in a same pack, remember?"

"Oh… you mean that…" Katherine said with confused. Why was he talking about this.

Humphrey turned and nodded.

"Well… believed or not. You are famous." She said.

Of course he was famous. Being the biggest trouble maker, he had to be famous.

"You… tricked your friends to eat barriers…" Katherine recalled. "And result in two vegetarian wolves…"

Thought of this, Katherine couldn't help but grinned.

"And then?" Humphrey said. "Any description about my personality?"

"About your personality? They said you are…you know what? This is very weird you know? Someone asked me to judge himself…What should I say?"

"I know this was weird, I just want to know how different can a wolf become." Humphrey lowered his head, and explained.

Katherine didn't talk. This topic is a little heavy.

"Can I say something to you?" Humphrey asked. He suddenly had an impulse to speak out what was bothering him.

"Sure, what?" Katherine asked. Even if she felt weird about Humphrey's behavior now, she still willing to provide her help, if she could.

"Never mind." Humphrey shook his head again. Then he stood up and kept walking.

"Hey!" Katherine jumped up and catch on with him. "You can't do this to me! I am cursed now."

Humphrey was still walking and didn't turn his head back.

But he started to talk.

"I am confused now." Humphrey said. "It was only two years. And everything changes in two years…"

Katherine didn't reply. What she should do now is listen.

They kept climbing while Humphrey was talking.

"You have no idea how cruel it is to be a lone wolf." Humphrey said. "You really have to fight for your life. You know where I was right? In that pack… you have to kill very often to keep your status, or you will lose everything, include your life."

"It changed me. Slowly… In the beginning, the guilt about killing was my worst nightmare. But sooner or later… I won't feel guilt about it any more. With the time pass on, fears, anger, panic, even excitement was gone, too. Then I realized that I can no longer feel."

He shook his head.

"At the moment I lost my feeling, I think I lost my feeling to Kate either. But you know what?"

He turned to Katherine, and stopped climbing again.

Katherine bumped on Humphrey and quickly stepped back a little. She put too much attention on Humphrey's story.

"I am sorry… I wasn't…" She apologized.

Humphrey stepped back too, he shouldn't suddenly stop.

"So… what are you going to say?" Katherine asked.

"I still miss Kate." Humphrey said. "And that confused me."

Katherine shook her head, meaning that she didn't get it.

"Well… the problem is… I don't know what Kind of feeling I am having to Kate." Humphrey said.

"Yea… That's a problem." Katherine agreed.

"Well, there is another problem." Humphrey continued. "And I don't know how to describe it."

"Eh… you can try…" Katherine said.

Humphrey sighed.

"You can see that right? There was something wrong with my mind." He said. "I can't really control my behavior."

"You see, I shouldn't tell you about these. But I did, and this morning's hunt… never mind."

His voice and his face were still very calm. But Katherine can feel he wasn't as calm as he looked.

"Well… when did this start?" She asked.

"I don't know…" Humphrey tried to think. "… This must have something to do with that Angel…"

"I won't doubt about that… that bird man is creepy." Kathrine said. "Well, when is your very first one misbehave?

"Eh… after I was sent back to Jasper…" Humphrey said. "I hunt for my friend."

"You mean. You won't hunt for your friend?" Katherine didn't get that.

"I mean, that doesn't like me." Humphrey explained. "I shouldn't care…"

"Humphrey… What was that?" At the moment they reach the top of the hill Katherine asked with fear and cut Humphrey.

Humphrey looked to her and found out that she was staring at something in front of them with her mouth opened.

He turned around and found out why Katherine was frozen.

There was a cabin right in front of them.

Human's cabin.

"Hey! Watch it." Eve yelled to one of the omega who was almost stepped on a twig quietly. "Don't ruin it."

Eve was very worried. Winston just told her that they won't use the normal way to hunt.

Due to their pack's condition, no one will be able to catch any caribou in a chase.

So they do this in a stupid way.

A circle, surround those caribou. After tightening up the circle, if they are lucky, should be able to catch one or two.

"Remember. Focus on the one in front of you. And never step back." Eve told them.

Those omegas nodded nervously.

Eve stopped to let them have more time to remember.

"Ok. Now go find an Alpha to be your partner. Remember to watch your step. We are too close."

"Remember, IF WE FAIL. The pack will be starved." Eve said seriously. "And those who was wounded in the war might not be able to make it without enough food."

That meant their friends, families, mates might die if they fail, and those Omegas knew it.

They slowly spread out. It is hard for those who haven't been trained to not make any noise.

But they still did it. They have to did it.

Eve slowly moved to the side of Winston.

"They did well." Winston said. "I am surprised."

"Me too." Eve agreed. "How was two pack's alpha getting along?"

"Good enough." Winston said. "We have to go now."

They walked to their position and ready to start the attack.

Kate turned and found out those Deer were gathered around the body of the one deer which she had just killed.

"Why can't they see me?" She cried.

Anne didn't know how to answer, she couldn't explain this either.

"Well… I can see you…" Anne said.

Of course, this didn't help at all.

Kate ran up to those deer and stood in front of them.

All the sudden, those deer turned their head to Kate.

Then, under Anne and Kate's surprise, they run away immediately, leaving the one which was killed by Kate.

"What was that about…" Anne asked.

"I am the one who is going to ask that!" Kate yelled.

"Gabriel! Where have you been?" Michael asked when Gabriel appeared in their 'home'.

"I went to a place where I can recall the plan easier." Gabriel said. "That's Jasper park."

"So how much did it come back?" Michael asked.

"A little, I had remembered some fragment. Not really sure." Gabriel answered.

"What was that?"

"Sorry, I can't tell you. I am not sure about it. I can't tell lies. If I told you something I am not sure either… that will be a lie…"
