Chapter 33: I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at, honey

"Yeah, you forgot one tiny detail..."

"What?"

"He locked the door!"

"So? We can just do what everyone does nowadays." I grabbed Nina's bobby pin from my boot and put it in the lock. "Ta da!"

"Why didn't you do that before!?"

"I forgot..."

(Nina's pov)

"Are you sure this was a good idea, Amber?" I asked.

"What?"

"I don't know if locking them up there was a good idea."

"Of course it is! Isn't that how you and Fabian got together?"

"No."

"Oh."

My phone buzzed from my bed.

Gather up the gang and hide. Rufus in the attic ~PrankingKing

"Bad, bad, bad idea, Amber!"

"Why? What happened? Was that Patricia?"

"No. Jerome, actually. Because of us, they're stuck in the attic with Rufus! We need to get everyone and hide!"

"Oh my God!" Amber screamed when we heard a click. "I think it's a little late for hiding!"

Everyone hide ~Neens, I sent to everyone other than Patricia, Jerome, and Amber.

Why should we listen to you? ~Annie

Criminal. In. The. House. ~Neens

That's a good reason ~Annie

"What do we do!?" Amber screeched.

"Hide in your closet!"

"There's so much clothes in there that they won't be able to find us! Good idea, Neens!"

We quickly hid under piles of clothes in Amber's closet.

"This is the room, Sir." A voice came. "The room of Patricia Williamson."

"Who's that?" I mouthed to Amber. She shrugged.

"How do you know?" Rufus snarled.

"I checked."

"Whatever. Search the room."

We heard crashing items being thrown. We didn't dare make a sound.

"There's only one place left, Sir." The stranger called.

"I know you're in there!"

I held my breath as they approached the closet.

"You might as well come out, Martin."

The doors swung open and I knew this was the end.

(Patricia's pov)

"Ok, so he's looking for me."

"Yeah."

"So maybe I should sign out."

"Like, pretend we went somewhere?"

I nodded and headed down the stairs quietly. "Patricia Williamson. Bakery. Would that be good?"

"I guess."

"Ass."

"What? I could care less where we aren't going."

I rolled my eyes.

A high-pitched scream came from upstairs.

"Amber! You have to help her!"

"Me? She's your friend!"

"But he's looking for me, not you."

"No."

"Fine. We'll both go."

"Fine."

"Fine."

"Fine!"
