Tenionia was sitting on the bed in Bakura's room in the hideout. She was in her night dress and her long black hair was tangled. She had been getting little sleep over the last few days and it was seriously affecting her. After a heated argument with Bakura, he put his foot down and told her to get some rest. He even threatened to tie her down if she didn't comply. Tenionia sighed to herself as she rubbed her arm, the arm that had the runes carved in it. The princess sighed through her nose again. They were acting up again.
"What are you doing up, princess?" She jumped slightly when Bakura appeared in the door, glaring at her.
"I told you to get some rest."
"I tried!" She snapped at him. Bakura's scowl deepened.
"You're not trying hard enough." He replied without missing a beat. Tenionia bowed her head, hiding the arm with the runes from his view. This didn't go unnoticed by Bakura however.
"What are you hiding from me?" He asked as he moved from the door towards the bed.
"It's nothing." She told him a little too quickly. Bakura gave her a look as he sat on the end of the bed.
"Tenionia, I can tell that you're lying." Tenionia looked down at her feet. Bakura slowly reached out and removed the blanket that was hiding her arm. His eyes widened when he saw the runes glowing deep crimson up the length of her arm.
"Tenionia..."
"The runes are acting up and they are why..." She began staring at her feet.
"You haven't been sleeping very well." Bakura finished and she looked up and nodded. Bakura wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked in a soft voice. An ever-so-light blush crossed her cheeks and she looked down again.
"I... I thought that you would cast me aside. Everyone else..."
"I'm not everyone else." He cut her off. He turned her so she was looking at him and touched his nose to hers.
"Those scars make you who you are, and even though you have a tendency to irritate me, I still care about you." She lowered her eyes but Bakura held her chin.
"Princess..."
"You love beautiful things, don't you?" Bakura blinked in surprise. He grunted.
"Yes, what about it?"
"Then why do you care about me so much? These scars aren't-" He kissed her lips, cutting her sentence short. When he pulled away, he pressed his forehead against hers.
"Silly girl, you're beautiful in my eyes, and precious then any jewel." He smirked. Tenionia looked surprised, but a small smile wormed onto her face.
"Thank you, Bakura..." He hugged her tightly, running his hand gently up her back. Eventually she drifted off and Bakura smirked, marveling at how innocent she looked as she slept. He laid her down on the bed and kissed her cheek.
"Sweet dreams, Flower."
