(A/N: sorry it's been slow for a while working on a fight scene with hobgoblin again please bare with me on this thank you)
"So…this is your mom and sister wow" Peter said raising an eye brow at his girlfriend "anything else you would like to share?" Ava shot her boyfriend a threatening glare to which had no effect because he was still smug about this. (Chibi Spidey turns to a score board Ava 13- Peter 1 "well we got one but it's a big one time to celebrate" colored strobe lights start flashing and blinking to the upbeat music while chibi spidey starts break dancing)
"Peter let it go!" Ava snapped "and mom what are you doing here?"
Mrs. Ayala stood up from the couch and made her way over to Ava "can we talk somewhere private?" she asked. Ava looked over to her sister then to Peter and back to her mother "not right now" she said storming upstairs. Aunt May turned to Peter with a suggestive expression,
"Whoa no way did you hear those clomps ...she's pissed"
"Peter watch your mouth! And go check on Ava" Aunt May ordered pointing up the stair case, she had the look in her eyes that always had a way of making both him and uncle Ben take off running and he did. "I'm going!" he panicked jumping the railing and running up stairs,
"Wow…can you teach me that?" Kitty asked praising Aunt Mays personal super power.
Peter walked up to his now closed door ("can you believe this? I've fought goblin, Dracula, Fin Fang Foom and I'm scared of my own girlfriend to the point where standing in front of the door is making me sweat")
"Ava?" He pushed the door open to an empty space but the window to the roof was open "ugh cliché much"
Ava was perched on the roof with her head resting on her knees "ok let's hear it what's wrong?" he asked dropping down next to her. Ava tensed up and pulled away from him "nothing that concerns you!" she said with no shortage of ice in her voice, "you know what the cats out of the bag Ava"... "that's a cruel and offensive metaphor Peter!" Ava interjected.."also you've thrown some major fits because of the things I haven't told you, things that happened long before we met mind you and now your mom and sister are here so it's my turn to pry now let's hear it" Peter ordered.
Ava relaxed her shoulders and took a deep breath he had a point, she hated it when he had a point "Peter I never told you about my mom or my sister because of the deal we made…" Ava began tremble "… mom let Fury bring me into the shield program on the condition that I use my time here to further advance my training to control the jade tiger, to become a better white Tiger through discipline and hard work…not by having a rodeo on boyfriend in his aunt's house so I'm afraid she'll find out about us and be disappointed…enough to take me home that's why I don't talk about her because it reminds me that every time I'm with you part of me feels like I'm going back on that deal and that dad would be upset with me" tears started streaking down her cheeks,
("Wow…I had no idea just how "complicated" Ava's life really was but at the same time ouch slightly offended that she basically said being with me is a burden, yeah I get that it's not easy but a burden ow")
"I had no idea it was like that for you Ava if you want to…"
"I don't regret being with you Peter and honestly you help me keep the Tiger in check just being around as proven when you were "dead" and the Tiger slipped free it's just what mom and I agreed on" she finished wiping her eyes on her sleeve.
"Hey if it feels right and makes you happy then it can't be wrong" Peter whispered in her ear "but you should talk to her after all it is Christmas"
"You really are for all that peace on earth and good will toward men bit aren't you?"
"Good will toward men and your boyfriends most of all" Peter chuckled earning a playful swat from Ava, "I think I was good enough to you last night" she smiled.
Peter shrugged his shoulders he knew his next remark might hurt a lot but Ava needed cheering up "…if you say so" he replied in a playful sarcastic tone, Ava's eyes flashed green causing Peter to gulp nervously ("here it comes…please let my landing be soft") her claws slowly extended digging into his leg. "Really that's your attitude towards having sex with me? Alright web head…" she pushed Peter over the edge off of the roof into a shallow snow bank ("*weak groaning* ouch…it wasn't soft…") "…you're cut off until further notice!" but Peter didn't notice Ava's playful smile as he fell.
Peter sat up in his imprint holding his head "oh smooth Pete real smooth, she's laughing but now you get no bonding time, no fun time, nothing" he said to himself as he walked up to the door covered in snow, "yeah she's pissed" he moaned.
"How did he? Wasn't he just upstairs?" Kitty asked,
Ava came back down stairs avoiding everyone's gaze "ok mom we can have that talk now" she said moving into the kitchen, Alexa and Ava sat at the table for the first few minutes was an awkward silence before Ava found her voice "it's good to see you again mom it's been a while"
Alexa smiled a watery smile at her daughter "two years Ava but I have to say it looks like this time away has done wonders for you both academically and maturely I'm proud of you and I know your father would be too" now Ava was getting teary eyed "but that being said it is Christmas so I was kind of hoping we could spend some time together as a family". Ava shot a quick glance into the den Peter was still defrosting then turned back to her mother, "I saw that young lady…something I should know?" Alex asked narrowing her eyes on her now fidgety daughter.
"Well…mom Peter and I are..." Ava was stammering she couldn't believe she was stammering "this shouldn't be this hard" she thought to herself,
"Ava would what you're about to say be any indication of why there was a cute pair of red and blue satin panties with webbing flung behind the TV when I got here?" Alexa asked cutting Ava off completely and disarming her. First came the subtle hint of shame from being caught that she was having sex, then the embarrassment that she was caught by her mother she didn't know what was worse this or the safe sex chat she had with Aunt May. "I can't stop you from doing what you're doing Ava but I can ask you to make sure you know the risks including what would happen if the tiger gets attached to Peter and things don't end well…hell have no fury like a women scorned Ava but even the devil would be scared of a scorned tiger powered girl" Alexa said.
"Peter and I aren't going to split up any time soon" Ava replied feeling her temper rise,
"Ava I wasn't trying to imply anything I'm just asking if you've considered the potential threat"
"There is no threat" Ava shot back.
Alexa raised her hands in surrender "Ava let's not pick up where we left off two years ago please" she begged, Ava took a calming deep breath and steadied herself, she didn't want to fight again "ok…ok I'm willing to clean the slate but on the conditions that you don't dive into my love life ok- you want to be the concerned mother alright bring it on but you start prying into personal aspects and we'll have a problem, 2nd no over controlling issues I have the Tiger in check so you don't have to keep reminding me of everything" she finished. Alexa stared at Ava with almost admiration and pride she had really matured in her time here,
"You have a deal"
Ava hugged her mom and just barely saw Spider-man's reflection in the window.
Juggernaut was rampaging down town, having just robbed a bank and was now attempting his getaway crushing cars and demolishing buildings. With no sign of any shield heroes or the Avengers he thought he was home free,
But that wasn't the case as Spider-man came swinging overhead chasing after the unstoppable rampaging mutant "of course its juggernaut couldn't be somebody easy like mesmero" he whined. Spider-man dropped from the sky shooting after juggernaut "incoming!" he yelled, Juggernaut spun on his heels throwing his massive fist into Spider-man's face launching the arachnid themed hero back across the street ("ok grand entrance…epically failed")
"You again? Aren't you dead?" Juggernaut growled, Spider-man jumped back on to his feet "what can I say Karma hates criminals. So I won't ever die" he shot back ("that's completely bull crap but I seriously had no real comeback to that") he webbed a chunk of debris and slung it at Juggernaut as hard as he could but Juggernaut went right through as if it wasn't even there and slammed Spider-man through a wall, and change rooms interrupting a couple female shoppers who screamed and ear destroying scream at the intrusion "sorry, hero business you look great by the way" Spider-man blurted before crawling out of the hole making the one blond girl slightly blush.
Spider-man resumed his pursuit of Juggernaut he was easy to follow what with all the overturned cars, broken hydrants and busted mail boxes, leading him down to the fish market "this a really bad come back party" he audibly said to himself as he reached docks looking for Juggernaut but there was no sign of him. "Aaand… I've lost him" he sighed disappointedly "this just fantastic web head how do you lose some one that big and that ugly?" he was ready to turn and leave when a loud crash and flying shipping containers caught his attention "what the hell?" he jumped.
Juggernaut flew across the shipping docks crashing into a crane, ("ok? That was unexpected and also who the hell is capable of knocking Juggernaut off his feet?") Spider-man dropped down to see Juggernaut scratched up, bloody and out cold "who the hell?"
"so I'm going assume this is part where you thank me for making your job easier" came a familiar female voice from behind him, "oh no please not her not here" Spider-man turned around to see Laura Kinney walking up to him with her claws drawn ("ah man you just had to put her in the story didn't you?")
"hey Laura how's it going?" he said nervously, he was sweating buckets under his suit it was only a day since he saw Laura and was still uncomfortable considering her temper and claws.
"Peter the whole city knows who you are under that mask so why do you keep wearing it?" Laura asked,
"Because I want to protect my pretty face" he replied. Laura came to a stop beside him smiling at his joke a sight that was new to him since nobody ever smiled at his jokes, "cute Peter…so heard mid-town gave you the boot after our little rough encounter" Laura said checking Juggernaut to make sure he was staying down for a while.
Spider-man hung his head and sat on an over turned container "yeah apparently I'm too dangerous to attend anymore" he sighed, Laura however seemed pleased at his news "you know the Saveum center has great teachers and programs…and well I know I'll sound petty saying this but I could always use a friend at school" she finished. Spider-man stared at her as she struggled with basic emotions and as much as the idea of attending mutant high unbalanced him it was the only school in the city that would take him in and he would have a friend there.
"I'll keep it in mind" he replied forcing a playful laugh to lighten the mood between the two when Laura turned back to Juggernaut, "I'd better take care of him before he comes to…" for a girl her size Laura was incredibly strong she lifted Juggernaut over her shoulders with ease "see you in school Pete?" with a quick wink Laura was off.
("ok I can't tell is she flirting with me or just weirdly friendly?")
Spider-man turned to leave but was startled backwards by White Tiger standing behind him with her hands on her hips even with mask on he could tell she was judging him, "Tiger I…ah…duh…lovely weather we're having isn't it?" he whimpered.
"This better be explainable web head" she snapped impatiently tapping her foot,
"It is…see I was chasing Juggernaut and I lost him down here in the fish market then Laura showed up and helped me take him down so no reason to be angry"
Tiger crossed her arms and looked around the docks at the immense damage that was caused "ok say I was to buy that story it doesn't explain why you didn't call for back up!" she growled.
"Because it was just Juggernaut not exactly Avenger level threat" Spider-man shot back,
Both he and Tiger were unaware of the figure standing at the hot dog stand with the spinning hypnotic disc on his helmet watching them and laughing to himself "oh this could be very amusing indeed".
"You could have called us!"
"You had company, and this wasn't exactly a team effort requirement!"
The more they bickered the higher and angrier their voices got escalading very quickly.
"Grrr you are so irresponsible you know that|! What if he beat you? There's no one to call the medic!"
"Why is it no one seems to think I'm capable of looking after myself anymore?"
The figures helmet spun even faster "this is going to be good, let's see how the Spider handles being the Tiger" he laughed.
"Stop worrying about me Tiger I'm a big boy I can handle myself!"
"THEN STOP GIVING ME A REASON TO WORRY YOU INSENSITIVE JERK!"
"Hey watch the name calling!"
"Stop being so damn stubborn!" they chorused before Tiger ran off in a huffy mood
("Great that went well what else can go wrong this week?")
well the cats out of the bag (which apparently offensive to feline based heroes who knew?) Ava's mom and sis are staying for Christmas wonder how well that's going to work?
Laura's eager for Peter (ha-ha phrasing) to come to the Saveum center is she flirting or just weirdly friendly?
"Spider handles being the Tiger" what could that mean and who said it?
