Disclaimer: No, I do not own Harry Potter

Benjy, Oliver and Calliope didn't say anything for a few moments as Healer Jordan's news began to sink in. Katie, who had been in hospital for such a long time, who, with her way, had made Calliope and her friends start researching the attacks in Hogwarts, had woken up. Oliver and Benjy exchanged shocked looks and a wide smile appeared on Calliope's face.

'Are…Are you serious?' she asked and her voice couldn't hide her happiness.

'Absolutely; she opened her eyes about half an hour ago' Healer Jordan explained. 'She is still very weak, of course, and needs to rest a lot, but we trust that she will be able to leave the hospital on Monday'

'Oh, thank God' the Muggle-born witch whispered and a tear of joy ran down her cheeks.

'When can we visit her, Healer Jordan?' Oliver wanted to know, caressing Calliope's shoulder. 'We were extremely worried about her…'

'I understand, but I would not advise you to come today. Let her sleep and I believe that tomorrow you can come to see her. Only…Miss Bowden, could you inform Miss Stone about this?'

'I will do it, she will come home soon' Benjy interfered, looking much calmer now that Calliope had assured him about Lexi's safety.

'Perfect, thank you!' the healer exclaimed. 'Now, you have to excuse me, but I will leave you to tend to her. Have a good night and be careful'

'Thank you for informing us' Calliope replied without losing her smile. 'We will see you tomorrow'

With a polite nod, Jordan's head disappeared from the fireplace and the green flames turned red again. The three young wizards stood slowly up and stared at each other with mixed feelings of happiness, relief, shock and hope. Hearing good news after all this while filled with fear and despair was the best thing that could happen to them and, seconds later, they burst into loud laughter. Calliope jumped into Oliver's arms and the Keeper lifted her up, making her laugh even louder.

'She made it, she made it, she made it!' she yelled, unable to hold herself back. 'Oh, she's okay'

'Yeah, yeah, she made it, calm down, Callie' Oliver said, chuckling and exchanging amused looks with his teammate. 'She is strong and now she'll be alright'

When the spirits calmed a little, Benjy declared he would return home to wait for Lexi to return, leaving the couple alone, still grinning. They sat down and Calliope starting making assumptions about how much time Katie would need to fully recover. But there was also another issue, as important as that, which started to leave its traces in their minds. The Gryffindor Chaser was hit with the Imperius Curse in order to deliver the cursed necklace (the necklace purchased by Malfoy) to the attacker's target, who was surely Dumbledore.

'Do you think she will remember?' Oliver wondered. 'I mean, you know about these things better than I…Is it possible that she doesn't remember who attacked her?'

'It is' Calliope nodded. 'Don't forget that Katie was unconscious for such a long time and maybe her mind suppressed this traumatic experience; it can happen. But, whether she remembers or not, we mustn't pressure her to tell us. It will make things only worse'

'Yeah, you're right'

'And, anyway, the point is that she woke up from a severe curse' she continued. 'All these months were torture for her, her family and her friends…I'm only glad that they'll have her back'

The next evening, Oliver and Calliope, true to their word, went to St. Mungo's Hospital to visit Katie. Lexi, who had looked after the young girl, was also there, in a much better mood than the last day.

'How is she?' Oliver asked her while they were standing out of her room.

'Still weak, but you can see her' Lexi replied and closed a bottle with a potion. 'She's asking for everyone and is in a state between sleeping and being awake. So, don't get on her nerves or remind her of the terror she lived, otherwise you'll have to deal with me' she added seriously.

'As if that was our intention exactly' Calliope scoffed and Lexi pinched her arm softly. 'Okay, okay, got the message!'

'You better have'

Rolling her eyes, Calliope entered Katie's room, with Oliver following right behind her. Katie was lying on her bed, her back leaning on three pillows, very pale and trying to breathe normally. She seemed more like a little girl at the moment, but smiled widely when she saw them.

'Hey, guys' she greeted them, her voice low and gentle, but showing how happy she was to see them.

'Katie!' Calliope exclaimed and hugged her tightly. 'Thank God, you're fine…I was so worried about you'

'I'm sorry' Katie whispered and hugged her back. 'I'm so sorry…But it was so horrible…I was surrounded by darkness and the pain…'

'Shh, don't think about it' Oliver comforted her and patted her on the shoulder. 'You fought the curse and that's what matters'

'It would matter if I would at least remember who on earth sent me here. But my mind is blank…I can't remember anything…not who cursed me, not who was the intended victim…nothing' the Gryffindor student had tears in her eyes and stared at the ceiling as she leaned back on her pillows.

Calliope looked sadly at Oliver, who returned her gaze with the same sadness. They knew that the following days would be very difficult for their friend and they didn't know what to say to console her. Katie had been through a lot and, although she was a fighter, she was also very sensitive, just like Phoebe was. Her soul was scarred by what she had lived, she had barely escaped death and she was confused, because she couldn't recall anything from that day.

'Listen, Katie…I know that it sounds impossible to you right now, but you will be better in time. You'll see, that wound will close'

'Callie is right' Oliver agreed. 'Besides, have you forgotten how you were in the Quidditch pitch, all nerve and determination? Don't let this take you back!'

'Aye, aye, Captain' Katie teased him and Calliope chuckled. 'Anyway…Callie, Lex told me that you also work here, right?'

'Yep, in the Spell Damages' Calliope nodded. 'It's pretty interesting, to tell you the truth, although the regular Healer is sometimes too pessimistic about everything that's going on and gets on my nerves. By the way, have you decided what you want to do after school?'

'Either something with Quidditch or an Auror…I'm not sure yet'

'Ugh, Quidditch, Quidditch, Quidditch…You'll be the fourth I know who'll be a professional player' Calliope pretended to sound desperate, but with her mocking smirk betraying her.

'Excuse me, Miss Bowden, are you complaining?' Oliver interfered, also pretending to sound insulted.

'I'm not complaining, Woody, I am only stating the truth. First you, then Benjy, then Lucas, now Katie…God, you are the most obsessed players I've ever met'

'Oh, and before I forget it, is what Lexi told me true?' Katie winked towards them. 'Did you guys finally come to your senses and are together?'

'Lexi Stone, I'm gonna kill you' hissed Oliver.

'You too, Brutus?' Calliope turned to Katie. 'What's the matter with you and the "I told you so" everyone told us when they learned we're together?'

'What? I had realized that you too are head over heels with each other long ago, I'm not stupid, you know. I was actually wondering when you would find the guts to admit it to each other'

They started laughing and speaking about other issues, forgetting for now the curse that had fallen over Katie. For now, they were only happy that she was with them again and that they could enjoy a few carefree moments in the mess and the war that still threatened the wizarding and Muggle world.

Two weeks later, Calliope and Oliver were home, until they were visited by a Patronus in the shape of a dove; Phoebe's Patronus. Just like in the First Wizarding War, Patronuses had become a very popular mean of communication between the members of the Order of the Phoenix. Not only was it quick, but it was also much safer for all of them. Since the Patronus was unique for everyone, the receiver couldn't be fooled about the caster's identity, like they could be fooled if someone would use Polyjuice Potion.

'Meeting at the Burrow in one hour' the Patronus said with Phoebe's voice and faded away as quickly as it had come.

'Well, finally!' Oliver cheered. 'I had started to miss these meetings, it's been over a month since the last one. What do you think they want us to talk about?'

'No idea' Calliope shrugged. 'Maybe there isn't a special reason, maybe…maybe there have been new attacks or there are new ways of protection or something. I only hope that Elaine will be there too'

'Why so?' Oliver wanted to know, looking with concern towards her.

'Well, I want to ask her if she has any news from Harry' the trainee healer told him. 'Only because Katie has survived, it doesn't mean that we will give up, right? And no matter what Dumbledore told me, I still believe that Snape and Malfoy have something to do will all this'

'Of course they have. I still remember what Harry overheard that night. Remus might believe that Snape's only pretending to help Malfoy, but something dark is going on here'

'But what the hell is this something?' Calliope threw her hands in the air. 'Killing Dumbledore seems to be Malfoy's plan, but…but…but I think there's something more behind it. Like…Like…Like Voldemort invading the school…or…'

'Callie, please, don't say this again' Oliver interrupted her startled and pulled her into his hug, feeling her trembling under his arms. 'We have to be strong, otherwise the enemy will succeed before us'

'I know, it's just that…I am so scared. Dumbledore's hand is injured, he doesn't believe that his life is in danger, two attacks with innocent victims, the war that's continuing…And I'm also so scared about my parents…I miss them so much!'

'I know, sweetheart, I know' Oliver assured her, kissing the top of her head. 'It's normal to be scared. These are difficult times for all of us, but I'm sure that you would learn it if anything happened to your family. We're still fighting, we're still trying to bring an end to all this...And I am here, with you'

They stayed like this, without talking, the only sounds coming from Oliver, who tried to comfort the girl in his arms. Today's meeting reminded them that they shouldn't grow too confident; that they should always be careful and cautious about what was happening around them, since it could affect them with one or another way. But these much needed moments of isolation were so important to them, the calm before the storm, before returning to reality again. Despite their previous assumptions, they still had a bad feeling when they apparated and walked the path leading to the Burrow, its illuminated windows seeming like eyes with the dark sky on the background. The gathering was quite large, consisting of Mad-Eye, Remus, Tonks, Bill, Fleur, the Weasley parents, the twins, Kingsley, Phoebe, Elaine, even Harriet. The living-room was so filled, that they didn't have any space to sit down.

'Is this a meeting or a party?' Fred joked, only to gain a furious look from his mother.

'If you think you can not be mature enough to attend serious meetings, young man, then…' Mrs. Weasley started, but her husband looked warningly at her and she stopped, while Fred was lowering his head in shame.

'How is Ron doing?' Calliope asked the Weasleys worried, but relaxed when she saw them cracking small smiles.

'He is very well and left the hospital wing three days ago, according to Madam Pomfrey's letter' Mr. Weasley said. 'Now he is as healthy as he was'

'I'm so happy to hear that' Calliope told him. 'And, now we're talking about attacked Hogwarts students, Katie returned to school three days ago as well, after spending some time with her family. So, everything is okay now…'

'No, nothing is okay' Mad-Eye cut her off, as always in a bad mood. 'Mr. Weasley and Miss Bell are very lucky to still be alive. Now we have to be more careful than ever!'

'Calliope wanted to say that everything concerning their health is okay' Oliver explained, trying to reason with the irritable ex-Auror. 'Now, could we jump to the reason behind this meeting, please?'

'We summoned you all here in order to learn about how you are dealing with the war…if you are being followed, if anything suspicious occurred to you and so on' Kingsley replied with his calm voice. 'More or less, we all have a past with the Death Eaters and some of us have even personal experiences with them' he nodded towards Calliope, who was Bellatrix Lestrange's main target, and towards Harriet, who was being followed for a while. 'No matter how much protected we are, there is always a possibility that Voldemort's supporters will pay us a visit'

If anything suspicious has occurred to you…If only you knew, Kingsley, Calliope thought. At that moment, she desperately wanted to share what she and the others had found out (after all, Mr. Weasley, Remus and Tonks knew already), but she had promised Harry to not blabber about his fears. As Lupin started reporting what he had observed during his time with the other werewolves, Calliope stared at Phoebe and then at Elaine, who both shook their heads, a sign that she should stay silent and not say anything about their discoveries. She noticed, though, that Elaine looked very pale and upset about something, although she tried to keep her composure.

'I haven't noticed anything in the stadium' Oliver's voice brought her back to reality. 'Christian is still hiding, but nothing else has happened after the attack months ago, only that some players have sent their families away for more safety. My parents are in Scotland, they're out of danger'

'That is good to hear' Kingsley nodded before turning towards Calliope. 'What about you, Miss Bowden?'

'Well, weird cases happen almost daily, you know, victims of poisonings or a curse' Calliope shuddered. 'Herbert Chorley is still in the Spell Damages Department, because Healer Foster considers him dangerous and too stupid to go home…I only feel sorry about his family'

'Healer Foster is right to be cautious, Calliope' Remus told her kindly. 'We can not know whether the badly casted Imperius Curse was an accident or deliberate, considering that the Death Eaters are masters of the Unforgivable Curses'

'I agree…You never know when they will strike' Harriet commented.

'And I see this with the werewolves' Lupin went on. 'Voldemort has promised them freedom, more rights and, of course, much more victims, making my job to convince them to join our side almost impossible. And Fenrir Greyback is the biggest problem…the deadliest werewolf who has existed until now'

Tonks threw him a sad and confused look, which didn't go unnoticed by Calliope. The two of them seemed to avoid looking each other in the eyes, as if they were scared about something that concerned them. It wasn't her business, of course, but she considered Tonks an elder sister and Lupin some kind of mentor and she wanted to see them well. When the meeting ended, with Mad-Eye warning them for the millionth time to be on "constant vigilance", most of them started leaving. This was a chance for Calliope to approach Tonks, who was lost in her thoughts, and try to cheer her up.

'Everything alright, Tonks?'

'Hm? Oh, yes, Calliope, everything is fine' the Auror answered too quickly to convince her. 'I only have a lot in my mind, that's all. Things will be sorted…at least I hope so'

Oh, Tonks, I know that look so well…It's exactly the way I looked when I was still in a dilemma about Oliver and me…Something is troubling you, my friend, am I wrong?

'Calliope, now we are talking…allow me to give you an advice' Tonks went on and, with her grey-brown hair she seemed much wiser. 'Don't see it as an advice from an Auror to a younger witch, but from a friend to a friend'

'Sure, Tonks, tell me'

'About you and Oliver…I see that you are well together and I am honestly happy for you two, but, please, never take him for granted. Especially at times like these, anything can happen from one day to the other and maybe you will regret for words you didn't say, although you want to' now Tonks had tears in her eyes. 'You could lose each other, not because you want to, but because you were forced to'

'I know' Calliope nodded and tears appeared in her eyes too. 'I live with the fear that something will happen to him, to those I care about…But I don't want to give the impression of being too oppressive'

'On the contrary, Calliope; you'll show that you truly love him; otherwise, you may appear as…indifferent'

'Calliope! Calliope!' Elaine called for her, gesturing for her to join the small group including herself, Phoebe and Oliver. Understanding that she wanted to speak about their investigations, Calliope gave Tonks a tight hug, thanked her for her advice and approached them.

'Our home now!' Elaine commanded them and she was in a worse state than before.

'Elaine, will you just tell us what happened?' Phoebe asked her.

'Seriously, do you think it's very wise to speak here? Let's go home and I'll tell you everything!'

The four of them disapparated, only to appear in front of Elaine and Phoebe's apartment. They quickly went in, locked the door and placed protective charms to ensure that they wouldn't be attacked unprepared. Oliver and Calliope sat down, Phoebe made some tea and Elaine started walking up and down.

'Now, Elaine, will you be so kind to tell us why you are as if you've fought against Voldemort himself?' Oliver wanted to know.

'One, if you ever mention his name in front of me again, I swear I'll hit you with a spell' Elaine snapped angrily at him 'and two, Harry sent me a new letter with some very…disturbing clues'

'He found out more about Malfoy?' Phoebe exclaimed, her voice marked both by excitement and worry at the same time.

'Oh, yeah, and you won't like it' Elaine warned her. 'Apparently, Malfoy is sneaking very often in the seventh floor…too often. Does there ring a bell?'

Oliver shook his head, unable to guess what Elaine could mean. Calliope and Phoebe, on the other hand, who had personal experience with one specific room in the seventh floor, didn't need much time to understand.

'Elaine, you're not talking about the…the Room of Requirement, are you?' Phoebe stuttered and her hands trembled so much, that she could barely hold her tea cup.

'Oh, yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about! There he's plotting…whatever he's plotting. Harry is sure about this and I have to admit I agree with him'

'Now, now, just wait a minute' Oliver folded his forehead. 'Why would Malfoy…'

'Ollie, you've heard about the Room of Requirement, haven't you? It provides the user with everything he needs' Calliope enlightened him. 'When we were training for Dumbledore's Army, the room had given us books, a huge space for practicing and even a Death Eater model. If Malfoy asks the room of things to help him kill Dumbledore, then the room will obey'

'And there's even more' Elaine said. 'Harry suspects that Malfoy has helpers in…whatever he's doing in there. They're guarding the door and warn him if anyone comes near the secret door, so that he won't come out'

'Crabbe and Goyle' Phoebe stated with confidence and Elaine cracked an unwilling smile.

'Of course, but, if anyone walking the seventh floor and sees the two of them, they will realize that Malfoy's up to something, correct? So, according to Harry's conclusions, Malfoy has stolen a small amount of Polyjuice Potion and transfigures them as…girls'

'What?' Oliver yelled and laughed hysterically. 'Crabbe and Goyle as…girls? Oh, I would give anything to see that, anything!'

'Can't Harry sneak in the room Malfoy is spending time to find out what's happening?' Calliope asked, her head hurting because of the new information.

'Unfortunately, no. Apparently, you have to know exactly what the Room of Requirement is for the blond snake. In seventh year, Umbridge and the Inquisitorial Squad could enter, because Cho Chang had told them that the Room becomes a training place for Dumbledore's Army. But Harry can't just go in front of the wall and say "I want to see what Malfoy's doing here", because it's not…specific'

'So, there's nothing we can do?' Phoebe looked from the one to the other. 'Just sit and wait? We know whom Malfoy and You-Know-Who are after, we know who's helping Malfoy, but we can't do anything?'

'As sorry as I am for saying that, Phoebe, no' Oliver's laughter faded and was replaced by a dark expression. 'As long as Harry doesn't know what this blasted room becomes for Malfoy, we're still walking in the dark. Let's only hope that things won't get out of control'

A/N: Okay, guys, that was it for now, hope you liked it :) Now, prepare your wands, because the Battle of the Astronomy Tower is coming, muahahaha.
