Author's Note:

I have some actual time for productivity this week, thank heavens, so I'm hoping to get this and some editing done!

Be forewarned, there are some naked shenanigans in this chapter. It was about due to happen, wouldn't you agree? I might have gotten a wee bit more involved in this one than I did the last time I got them in bed together, so I figured I'd warn you ahead of time if that's not your thing.

Chapter 36 - Aloha, Angel

After reuniting at Bobby's, there was a lull while the fact that the battle to stop the apocalypse was over actually sunk in. Bobby had put all his books back on their shelves, and Dean had cracked open a beer. Castiel was doing his best to watch over Dean, as he seemed to think was his duty, without appearing 'stalkerish,' as Dean had exasperatedly informed him one of the times he'd caught him staring.

Gabriel wanted to go looking for a way to talk to Michael immediately, but Sam stopped him, resting hand on his shoulder and saying softly, "You can face your family another day. I seem to recall someone making me a promise for when the whole world destruction thing was over."

Remembering that conversation, Gabriel relaxed and smiled at Sam, moving forward to tug him down into a kiss. "I think it's about time I make good on that promise," he agreed. "When we get home though, I'm going after my brother. I'll fix this, Sammy, I promise."

"When we get home," Sam confirmed, nodding once.

"Do you want to leave now?" Gabriel asked, raising an eyebrow.

Sam held up a finger. "Let me tell Dean and Bobby that I'm leaving first," he said wryly. "It might not be appreciated if I just vanish."

Gabriel shrugged, but waited while Sam disappeared into the kitchen to tell Dean he was leaving.

"You're going where?" Dean's incredulous demand came from the kitchen, louder than whatever Sam had said to him. After a moment, presumably while Sam was speaking, Dean's voice, volume lowered, returned with, "All right, whatever. Go have fun with your boyfriend. I want zero details. Just don't be gone for too long, okay?"

Sam emerged from the kitchen a second later, moving to join hands with Gabriel. "Ready."

Gabriel snapped his fingers, fixing his eyes on Sam so he could watch the hunter's face. They appeared directly on the shoreline, the vast expanse of water before them.

"Holy crap," Sam enthused, turning away from the water almost immediately to stare at the sand at his feet. It was a black sand beach, and the grains of sand felt amazing beneath his toes. He hadn't even noticed that Gabriel had snapped away his shoes, but he wasn't at all bothered by it.

"C'mon," Gabriel urged, nudging him. "I have something special for you, since we survived and all."

Chuckling, Sam reluctantly allowed himself to be guided further down the beach, his eyes widening in shock as they rounded a treeline to discover a massive silken canopy over what looked like a soft comforter and pillows, a table full of exotic fruits, and flaming torches in each corner. "Woah."

"Good to know I can still impress you," Gabriel teased. "If I recall correctly, a certain hunter came onto me for the first time on a beach, and I also promised to plan a special occasion for you."

It took Sam a beat to remember that conversation, then he suddenly froze with surprise, his eyebrows skyrocketing. "We're...you're...really?" He managed to ask, his words disjointed.

"If you still want it," Gabriel said softly, shifting position and taking Sam's hands in his. "Me," he amended after a beat.

Sam immediately leaned forward to capture Gabriel's mouth in a sweet kiss, deepening it after a moment to fully convey how on board he was with this plan. As the need to breath made itself known, he slowly pulled back and smiled softly. "Always," he said firmly.

Tugging him forward again, Gabriel led him over to the canopy and pulled him down onto the thick comforter that was laying over the sand.

"Oh my god," Sam breathed, closing his eyes and relaxing immediately. "I've decided that this is as close to Heaven as I ever need to get. I want to sleep like this forever."

Laughing, Gabriel shifted up and threw a leg over Sam, straddling him and settling his weight over Sam's thighs.

Cracking on eye open to take in the archangel's new position, Sam smirked and added, "I could definitely get used to that too."

"All right, Samsquatch, you can sleep after we having mind blowing sex," Gabriel informed him casually.

Sam opened his eyes immediately and moved his hands to settle on Gabriel's hips. "I can get on board with that plan," he replied easily.

"First things first, though," Gabriel ran a hand over Sam's chest, debating whether or not to just snap them both naked and get it over with. "Do you still want to be bound to me by grace?" He asked formally, knowing already that Sam would say yes.

"Forever, Gabe," Sam confirmed, squeezing his hands on the archangel's hips for emphasis. "You're never getting rid of me."

"Well then, you have a decision to make," Gabriel announced. He held up a hand, wiggling his fingers. "Where do you want my mark?"

"The physical mark is a handprint?" Sam asked, raising one eyebrow. He smirked slightly and teased, "Possessive much?"

"You're mind, kiddo, forever," Gabriel said firmly. "I can be as possessive as I damn well please."

Eyes soft, Sam took hold of Gabriel's hand and shifted it until it rested against his hip. "In that case, I think here will do."

Something predatory flashed in Gabriel's eyes, and he nodded his agreement. "It will indeed," he murmured, bending forward to kiss his hunter. When he pulled back, they were both panting, despite the fact that Gabriel didn't even technically need to breath. They were also both naked, and the sudden friction that caused between their cocks brought them both almost immediately to full hardness.

Sam took a deep breath, his eyes full of lust and his ability to focus starting to fade. "Get on with it," he bit out, trying hard to actually speak the words, rather than moan them.

Amused, Gabriel shifted his position to give himself more leverage, reaching down to grip Sam's left hip firmly. "Stay still," he warned. "This will hurt at first, but that fades."

Sam nodded his understanding, taking a deep breath and focusing on controlling the desire he had to tackle Gabriel off of him and kiss him senseless.

Gabriel closed his eyes, calming himself quickly and focusing intently on Sam. To Sam he appeared to be mouthing words, but the hunter couldn't understand what they were. Suddenly, Gabriel's eyes snapped open and a searing pain his Sam's hip.

Arching up off the comforter, Sam managed to keep the cry of pain from escaping, but all the breath in his lungs left in a rush, the shock of pain centralized in his hip causing him to forget to breathe. It began to fade quickly, starting from the tips of where Gabriel's fingers gripped him until finally the spot of pain where Gabriel's palm rested pulsed and faded completely, leaving behind a completely different kind of ache.

Slowly, Gabriel withdrew his hand, stroking lightly over the scarred skin now emblazoned with his handprint. The sensation caused Sam to gasp, and their eyes met, Sam's wide with something akin to wonder, and Gabriel's with a curious sort of satisfaction.

"What is that?" Sam asked, his voice still breathless. Every time Gabriel touched the handprint, he felt a pulse of pure desire and longing wrapped in undeniable love wash over him, and it was staggering in its intensity.

"That's me," Gabriel informed him, still stroking the handprint lightly. "That's my grace letting you know exactly how I feel right now."

Sam reached forward and laced his fingers with Gabriel's free hand and used that to pull him forward. "Then do something about it," he growled, rocking against the archangel to make his own desire known in a far more physical sense.

Eyes dark, Gabriel stopped simply stroking the handprint and placed his hand flush against it, opening what felt like a channel of overwhelming love and allowing it to wash over Sam. As the hunter fell back, gasping, Gabriel took his momentary advantage and used it to slide down the hunter's legs and tug them upwards, positioning Sam in a perfect place for the archangel to work him open.

Distracted by the pulse of love Gabriel had sent flooding through him, Sam very nearly missed the first swipe of Gabriel's tongue opening him up. As soon as he registered the new sensation, he was blindsided by the sheer dexterity of the muscle Gabriel was opening him with. Did archangels have specially jointed tongues or something? He was fairly certain that several of the motions he was feeling happen inside of him weren't actually physically possible. He was jerked away from that train of thought as a lubed finger joined Gabriel's tongue, pushing forward and seeking out Sam's prostate, stroking against it with astonishing accuracy.

Gabriel grinned as he heard Sam start to fall apart above him. They'd hardly even started, and already he had the hunter quivering and moaning. He took advantage of Sam's distraction to add a second finger, withdrawing his tongue with a final swipe around Sam's rim and beginning to scissor him open in earnest, making sure to brush against the hunter's prostate with every few motions, effectively rendering Sam incapable of speech.

Fumbling with his words for a few moments, consistently distracted by the fingers in his ass, Sam finally managed to bark out, "Gabe...in me...ready...now!"

"Far be it from me to turn down an invitation like that," Gabriel replied with a smirk, satisfied that Sam was open enough for him. He adjusted his position and spared a thought to lube his cock as he had his fingers, pausing just briefly before slowly entering his hunter, relishing the sounds Sam made with every inch he gained.

Sam was about to demand that Gabriel move faster when the archangel's hand gripped him tightly on the handprint, sending a wave of intense lust and pleasure through him, leaving him feeling as boneless as if he'd already orgasmed.

Bottoming out, Gabriel placed his other hand on Sam's right hip, firming his grip and withdrawing his own hips, then slamming back in, angling just right to strike Sam's prostate. He relished the cry of pleasure the move ripped from his hunter's lips, and began to thrust in earnest, enjoying the obvious effect his grace was having on Sam, in addition to his physical presence.

"Close," Sam managed to pant, hands floundering for a moment before they found purchase on Gabriel's hips, gripping him tightly, even though Sam didn't have his own handprint to use as a pleasure button the way Gabriel seemed to be using his.

Gabriel grinned, increasing his speed. "Good," he said, satisfied. "Me too. Keep your eyes on me, Sammy, okay?"

Sam's eyes flashed to Gabriel's face, curious, but the archangel didn't elaborate, just nodded his encouragement. With a final thrust that nailed Sam's prostate dead on and brought Gabriel flush with his hunter's body, they came together, Sam crying out with his gaze still fixed on Gabriel, and Gabriel moaning his release as a sudden noise of rushing air filled their ears.

Before Sam could even think to ask what the noise was, all rational thought flew his brain. He could only stare in wonder as six magnificent golden wings took over the space under the canopy. He was aware that his mouth had dropped open, but he couldn't seem to find the presence of mind to close it.

Gabriel adjusted his shoulders, causing his wings to shake and ruffle slightly, then he gently pulled out of Sam, snapping them both clean and drawing close to his hunter, pulling him in and tucking his wings around them both like an extra blanket, waiting for Sam to react.

"I...I can see your wings," Sam finally managed to say, eyes still wide as he took in the fact that he was literally being blanketed by the wings of an archangel.

"Perks of being bonded to an archangel," Gabriel informed him casually, eyes sparkling with amusement. "I wouldn't have been able to manifest them before, because you'd have lost your eyes staring at such a concentrated form of my grace, and I happen to like your eyes."

Sam flushed slightly and asked, "So now that you've infused me with your grace, I can see them?"

"Essentially," Gabriel agreed. "I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

Sam relaxed and nestled in closer to Gabriel, relishing the sensation of the archangel's wings brushing against his bare skin. "Can we stay here forever?" He murmured sleepily, feeling his hip tingle as one of Gabriel's wings settled over the handprint.

"For now," Gabriel replied, a little sad. "Unfortunately, there's still a real world to get back to." Pressing his lips to Sam's hair, Gabriel pulled back slightly and added, "But for now, Sammy, sleep. Tomorrow can worry about itself."

Completely relaxed, Sam drifted off, tucked into the arms and wings of his mate, and safe in the knowledge that, at least for now, the world was safe, and so were they.
