The four unknown men move rapidly into Captain Montgomery's office and the door closes. There is some heated conversation happening as the sounds travel through the walls but not enough to be intelligible
After several minutes of private conversation, the door opens and the four agents along with Captain Montgomery move into the bull pen.
"Every one in the conference room" Captain Montgomery says very loudly pointing at the door
Then Ryan, Esposito, and Beckett along with their one civilian tag along move briskly following in behind the group. Once the door closes Captain Montgomery begins "These men are from the government…"
The last of his opening comments is abruptly cut off by the man that appears to be the leader of the team
"Let me introduce my team" He points to the man farthest away from him "This is Agent Jay" Then pointing to the next man "This is Agent Kaye" then the third man "Agent Smith and I am…"
Castle interrupts the introductions "So I guess you are Agent Jones?"
The man who was just interrupted by Castle does not seem appreciate Castle's attempt at levity when he answers "No! I am Agent Lancaster"
Castle smirks at the response. The rest of the team seem a little put out that some federal agency has decided to put their nose into the departments case
Beckett begins "So what agency did you say you were with?" after a pause
"Exactly?" She emphasizes the last word
"We are with the Department of the Treasury. Secret Service" Agent Lancaster answers
Castle has a gleam in his eyes from the answer "Spies!" he says under his breath thinking only Kate can hear him
"No Mr. Castle" Agent Lancaster says "we are the group that deals with counterfeiting and money laundering. We are not spies"
"Oh"Is Rick's last comment. He is obviously disappointed that these are not real spies
Beckett looks back at the four men "What does the Secret Service have to do with our murder victim then?"
"We have had Mr. Webster under surveillance for the last two years. We believe he has been laundering money. Using clean money and his client's accounts to take dirty money then move it around therefore cleaning it"
"That explains something" Rick comments
"What are you saying Mr. Castle?" Agent Smith asks
"I am the executor of the estate of two teenaged girl's inheritance. It is being managed or rather was being managed by Mr. Webster. Over the last few months I noticed some unusual activity relating to their account"
"What type activity?" Agent Lancaster questions
"There were transfers into and out of the main account occurring during the month but they never showed up on any printed statements at the close. So unless you were online you would not even know that the transactions had happened" Castle responds
"How long has this been going on, Mr. Castle?" Agent Kay asks
"I just noticed it last month. I called Webster and he explained it away as a data entry error. Then when I saw it again this month I went to his office. He took offense to my questions and we got into a little argument"
"This could have been going on for a long time then? Can you give us the log in information and have our techs look into the account and see if they can get the history of these activities?" Agent Lancaster speaks
"Sure, No problem"
The conference room becomes a small command post for the agents and their team of technicians. While the room is filling with more and more federal staff, Rick and Kate have resumed in the break room
"Castle, do you think that this Webster guy was involved in my mother's death? I mean his fingerprints and DNA were on a receipt in her purse"
"Kate that was over a dozen years ago. I don't think her meeting with him had anything to do with this unless she was suspicious of his actions like I have become. Anyway she had a deposit receipt written by him. She probably had him handle her investments. Why don't we ask your dad about this and see if he can answer that question"
"Great. I will call him tonight and ask" Kate looks at the clock just as her stomach growls very loudly
"I can hear my girl is hungry but I am not sure how you can want anything to eat after what you did to that poor bear claw earlier" Castle's face scrunches as he thinks about that topping she put on her pastry.
"That was good" She giggles
Giggles? She never giggles Rick thinks then he speaks "So what do you want for lunch? Remy's, Famous Nick's. Original Nick's, Original Famous Nick's?"
"OH! A slice. Perfect. I would love that" She replies
"That's easy" Rick responds "Your usual? Pepperoni on thin crust?"
"No! I want Anchovies and pineapple"
Castle is more than a little taken back. She has NEVER eaten Anchovies ever, let alone with pineapple. He just thought her breakfast selection was weird lunch is even more so.
"OK Whatever you want, love. I will go get it" He stands and takes his jacket off the chair and starts to put it on when she reaches out to stop him
"I have a better idea" she says with a gleam in her eye as she also stands up and walks over to the captain's office door. She steps inside then after a brief conversation with Montgomery Kate returns to her desk
Rick honestly has no idea what is happening in her head right now. The look on her face is delightful however
She leans in close to his ear "I have a few hours of comp time and there is a nice little motel just around the corner"
Richard Castle the former player now devoted husband and father is turning red
"Are you suggesting what I think you are suggesting?"
"Yes! That is exactly what I have in mind" she continues "A little afternoon rendezvous with a very eager woman?"
Castle is caught almost without words
"Kate, we could just go home"
"That's Too far away" she responds
"Katherine Beckett-Castle, What has gotten into you?"
"I really don't know myself but I am planning on going along with it, whatever this is, and I suggest you hang on for the ride of your life"
She grabs a hold of his hand and they move quickly to the elevator
Once the elevator doors close the other two detectives walk into Montgomery's office
"Sir, what is going on with Beckett and Castle?" Ryan questions
"From what I can tell Beckett is experiencing hormone overload" Montgomery answers the question with a little glint"I experienced it with my wife and I can tell you this much. What ever she wants. Do not get in her way…"
