I had a spur of the moment to write another chapter. It's 3:30 in the morning here and yes I have a sleeping problem. A shout-out to the girl on the bus and her friend. Hello. Anyway...Leave some reviews. Love it? Hate it?

Priestess of Asgard. Chapter 36: Baby of mine.

It was in the middle of the night and Loki found himself suddenly waking up. His head was on a soft pillow, his hair slightly messy and his lose fitting black shirt twisted around his torso a bit. A small fire was going and Loki lifted his head to see what was going on. Aurora sat in a big comfy chair that must have been brought in while he was sleeping. She sat a little ways from the fireplace, holding Daven and singing to him as he nursed. Her shoulder and left breast were naked, her dark blue robe laying at her waist.
Loki sat the rest of the way up, a small head ache rising and falling. He sat up too fast. Aurora's soft voice almost lulled him back to sleep but he was too curious and walked over to her. He placed a hand on the top of the chair and leaned on it a bit. Aurora stopped singing and looked up at Loki with a smiling face. "Hi. How did you sleep?"
Loki found himself thinking of what to tell her. He himself wasn't sure how he slept. "Fine." he replied.
Aurora nodded and looked back down at Daven. "One of the maidens told me you had been up for several hours after the birth. After sitting down next to me you fell alseep pretty quickly."
"Did I?" Loki said. "Hmmm."
"Isn't he perfect?" Aurora purred the word perfect as she continued to look down at Loki. "I'm so happy to have him. I love him so much. Do you want to hold him?"
In that second Loki took his hand off the chair and stepped back. "No. That's alright."
"But his done nursing now. C'mon, he won't cry." She stood up slowly and placed Daven in Loki's arms. He was asleep now, his belly full of milk. He just stood there looking down at him as Daven looked up. "He's...small...and lite."
Aurora smiled, she couldn't have pictured this moment more perfect. Seeing Loki for the first time holding their son melted her heart and she walked over to Loki's side and huged him a little. "Savor the moment. He'll grow bigger...Soon he'll be too big to hold." Savor the moment. Right.
Daven was so small you would think he was just a regular human baby, but he was a demi god and half frost giant. For a moment Loki forgot about his son's true identity and loved him in that moment. He felt as if anyone who would do him arm he would glady make them suffer for it and slowly. Odin popped into his head that moment and he handed Daven back to Aurora. "Are you alright?" she asked.
"I feel as if I might break him."
Aurora placed a white towel over her shoulder and started to pat Daven's back. "I felt the same way. You'll get used to it, don't worry."
"It seems impossible."
Aurora laughed softly. "When I first met you, I thought it was impossible to even stand in the sand in the same room. And look at us now, husband and wife. Doesn't seem real, does it?"
"You really thought that?" Loki asked. He guessed he shouldn't have been surprised.
Aurora ignored that question and said, "And look here...Daven is as real as you and me and he came from us, so what does that tell you?" Loki said nothing. "That anything is possible." Aurora finished for him.
It was then that Loki could no longer keep what Odin had said so many times before in the past from Aurora. "Aurora...love," he said slowly. "I need to talk to you."
"What's wrong, Loki?" she managed to burp Daven just then and he fell asleep right away. "Hold that thought." she placed Daven in his crib and turned to face Loki again. "What is it?"
"It's something Odin has said." he placed both hands on her arms, in hopes that by doing so it keep her calm.
"What did he say?" she was getting even more nervous after hearing Odin's name. She had been scaredof him ever since he threatened to get rid of her.
"You understand the difference between us, correct?" she nodded. "Good. And you understand that Daven is a demi god?" again she nodded. "Alright." he took a moment to collect his thoughts. "I will live long passed you and so shall Daven. The life we are choosing will cause a lot of pain."
"Why are you telling me this now?"
Loki bent closer to her face and whispered. "Because I love you." his forehead rested on hers.
Some tears were welling up in Aurora's eyes and she bit her lower lip before speaking. "Shouldn't you be the one concerned. I'll be leaving you alone in a world...or worlds by yourself. I understand the complications of the future with Daven and my life from here on out, but why are you worried about me? Don't you think I have thought about this? I have. We've come too far now to stop. All we can do is look back and hope for the best."
Loki was too afraid to tell her the other reason why he was telling her this. Just talking to her about this made things a little easier on him. Sharing the burden. He was scared to lose her so early. When the next twenty years she would look older than him...probably. And would Odin allow her to stay in Asgard for good. He couldn't go back to Midgard. S.H.E.I.L.D would get a hold of him and then he would never see his family again. He also didn't feel like making trips every couple of years either. It would be just as bad as being locked up.
Loki cupped Aurora's face with his hands and brought her in for a kiss. "I am selfish for keeping you all to myself, Aurora."
Aurora almost laughed, instead she smiled, her lips brushing up against Loki's. "Then be slefish because I never want you to give me up."
Loki wrapped his arms around her now and gave a little smile. "Oh really now?" he kissed her again. "My dear sweet, sweet Aurora. I love you and Daven so much. I will never let Odin take you away. Valhala help me I'll steal you two away from Asgard for good." and to ruin the moment Daven started to sniffle and Aurora broke away from Loki. She laughed. "I think Daven would have a thing or two to say about that if he could talk." she picked him up and cooed him softly, swaying with him from side-to-side. Loki took a seat in front of the fireplace, closed his eyes and listened to the soft humming of Aurora's voice and found himself sleeping again.
