Older Orphan Brother

I didn't want to help them. I didn't realize what I was getting myself into until it was too late. But I had to make a living somehow. I was desperate. In spite of the peace, there was so little work, especially for an orphan who never finished high school. So I looked where I could, going deeper than most ever dared. It was small stuff at first: helping out with construction work, carrying stuff, running errands. And then I saw him. The man in the mask. That's when I knew I had to get out. If I had only known sooner… maybe I'd be alive today.
