A/n: Thanks for the reviews, follows and favourites. ... As you people can see, I am still alive *Coughs violently* But I am getting frustrated with the chest cough. I just started MoI again but its getting there slowly. Once Bleach is over, there could be a chance that my updates will pick up.
Okay, most likely a lie but I would at least have them done once the manga is over
Warning: Swearing, violence and grammar errors.
Disclaimer: I do not own Bleach - that is all... But the following OC characters are all mine :D
Chapter 37: Fighting Arrogance
"Well this sucks," Tahani grumbled in annoyance, glaring at the figure. The figure gave one look towards Tahani before he dismissed his gaze towards the half frozen Rukia. She scowled in disgust – however the disgust was mostly to herself. Tahani was not someone who should depend on anyone else – especially a captain that she despised. Sure he helped herself, Renji and Rukia to sneak in the living world but it still burned her pride. "I don't want ya to save me!"A snarl came on her face when the captain ignored Tahani's voice and kept his steely eyes on Rukia. How dare that noble bastard ignore her?!
Zommari looked calmly towards the captain, as if he wasn't angered in the first place. "And who might you be?" He questioned, locking eyes with the captain. If the intruder had been anyone else, then the figure would've replied instantly however the captain remained ignored the espada. "Judging your haori, I can tell that you are a captain. My name is Zommari Rureaux, the septima espada. Now intruder you must tell me your name."
"Tahani Rosa," the being muttered coldly before the fourth seat widened her eyes at his tone. Her body was still unable to move which was slightly relieving – at least Zommari would no longer be able to force her to harm herself.
She narrowed her eyes and kept a dark glare in his direction. "What is it?"
"What happened to her?"
Her brow furrowed deeply as she spared another look to her frozen comrade. Did he believe that he could save Rukia? Maybe she should tell him the truth –there was no point in lying to Byakuya Kuchiki. "I had to freeze her movements – but don't worry, I gave her the minor injuries but I'm unsure if she will survive."
"I see." Byakuya looked towards the espada heavily who suddenly materialised a zanpakuto. Tahani's eyes slightly widened with realisation – this espada could've easily fought her with a sword but resorted to tricks instead. The rage burned at the pit of her stomach as she let out a growl of irritation. "I have no reason to tell you my name," Byakuya answered the espada's first question. "As far as your side is concerned, we are nothing more than enemies." Well, Tahani knew one thing for sure that Byakuya's ways of battle were certainly different from Kenpachi's ways. It was a courtesy for the opponent to know the name of their killer, it was something she had learned from Ikkaku and Tahani was glad that she was taught such a valuable lesson.
Zommari did not change expression as he focused on Byakuya with his golden eyes. "Understood. Then I will fight you, nameless captain and leave the shinigami until your defeat."
What the hell? Tahani's eyebrow rose as she felt the calm atmosphere. When she was winning the fight, Zommari was starting to get more agitated by the second but now he remained cool and calculated, just like how he was when they met. It was strange, almost as if the espada was certainly confident that he had the abilities to take out a captain when he struggled with Tahani.
"There is something I would like to ask of you." Byakuya spared a glance towards his sister without any signs of emotion. "Were you the one who fought with that shinigami?"
Way to act like a caring brother Captain Kuchiki. Tahani thought sarcastically as rolled her eyes at his choice of words and ignored the statement that Zommari had replied. He probably just said the same thing he said to Tahani at the beginning of the fight. Seriously, he didn't even have a hint of rage when Zommari clearly stated that he was going to finish her off.
"What's wrong?" Zommari wondered after a moment of silence, pointing his new materialised sword towards Byakuya. "Although I wouldn't permit it, if you've come to save that shinigami than your efforts are wasted. Aren't you going to attack me like the reckless child, intruder?"
Tahani's eyes narrowed dangerously. Did that arrogant espada just call her a child!? Sure she wasn't as old as many of the captains in Soul Society but she was exactly young either! "Ya better kill that asshole Captain Kuchiki – I'm already in bad enough mood that ya cutting into my fight-"
"I don't understand," Byakuya interrupted Tahani's speech and turned towards Rukia. "I won't understand how you put me down to that fourth seat's level." A vein throbbed on Tahani's head as she directed the glare towards him. He had some nerve insulting her while she was conscious and in the area. "And what do you mean by pointless?" In a flash, Byakuya appeared behind the espada attempt to draw out his zanpakuto when Zommari reappeared behind the captain in a flash.
"Captain Kuchiki!" Tahani uttered with wide eyes, the signs of rage dissolved as both captain and espada drew weapons to collide. Byakuya ignored Tahani's call and jumped back, noticing the clones for the first time. She narrowed her eyes at the espada duo and growled. "So he's rushing through this?"
"Just what I expect from a captain," The clones spoke together which freaked Tahani out. If fifty eyes were one thing, then a hundred eyes were making her insane. "Your speed is excellent and you have high quality reflexes, however you still languish at that shinigami's level."
Tahani's rage went shooting up again. First he complimented Byakuya with his speed and 'gracefulness' but then he insulted Tahani when he was close to defeat. It only gave her more annoyance that Byakuya didn't say anything to shut him up.
"What are you suggesting?" The captain inquired, remaining perfectly as he held his weapon in front of him.
"Captain Kuchiki!" Tahani called out with a scowl on her face. Even though he wasn't looking at her, she could tell that he was listening to her. "Ya have to watch out... he claims to be the fastest espada and he can make up to five clones!"
"The shinigami is right," Zommari stated as he narrowed his eyes. "By adding a few steps, I can create a clone of myself – think of it as a kind of game of magic tricks." He continued when he gained Byakuya's attention, "Magic tricks are meant to surprise the opponent so please don't be embarrassed if you couldn't follow what I did."
The woman scoffed with a wide smirk – what an arrogant bastard; he clearly had no idea of who he was up against. Sure Tahani hated him, but Byakuya was not a light opponent. She knew this since the day Renji stood up to him; Tahani severely learned that he was far beyond her level.
"Is that so?" Byakuya answered calmly, but Tahani could practically feel the traces of confidence in his tone. "I believe that you should be embarrassed. You should be ashamed for revealing your trick to me so soon and letting the fourth seat live to tell me about it." The captain vanished and they prepared to battle again, leaving Tahani to scowl in annoyance.
Come on, she was right here in front of them!
Byakuya slashed through a first Zommari and attacked the second, leaving both to bleed out heavily. Just by watching of how easy it was, there was no way that it could've been the real espada.
"What a pity."
Don't tell me he ignored my warning!
A third Zommari appeared behind Byakuya with his weapon raised and prepared to strike. A bright light shot out through Byakuya's haori and went through the espada's chest. Tahani sighed with half annoyance and half relief – she only wished that Byakuya could give her a notification that he understood her words. Damn nobles and their uptight attitudes.
"Hado four, Byakurai."
The third espada collapsed and that's when Tahani felt the familiar presence. "Look behind ya!" She widened her eyes as two Zommari's appeared in front of the captain and behind the captain.
"The shinigami was right about my clones," The duo Zommari explained curtly, "I can make up to five clones with my Gemelos Sonido." There was no way that he had a chance to block or dodge the two zanpakuto piercing both sides.
Captain Kuchiki! Tahani thought with wide eyes – astounded that even the sixth division captain was defeated. It was impossible; she knew that the espada was powerful, maybe more powerful than her but not powerful enough to take down someone like Byakuya. But here he was, stabbing the cold and noble Kuchiki.
"Farewell, nameless captain," Zommari uttered as Byakuya let out a wounded groan. Tahani's eyes remained wide, surely if Byakuya died then his kido would break which would leave Tahani as a dead body. But if it didn't break, she won't be able to move out of the way so either way she was a goner. At least now she wouldn't have to worry about suffering the shame from getting rescued by someone. Someone she despised with her guts. "The reason for your defeat is the arrogance that kept you from telling me your name."
Tahani's eyebrow rose in confusion as she looked at the espada. So he lost because Zommari didn't learn his name? What kind of stupid logic was that? Here he went talking about that stupid arrogance again; maybe Tahani should've killed herself before Byakuya began fighting. At least then she wouldn't hear stupid thoughts anymore.
Instantly Tahani's eyes widened more (if it had been possible) when she noticed that Byakuya was not stabbed by the zanpakuto but his haori. She stuttered under her breath, before she sensed his presence standing unharmed behind the espada.
"Third of the Shiho, Utsusemi." Byakuya finally spoke and he appeared like he always did. Instantly, Tahani recognised the move that was often used from the Second Division or anyone with the skills in Hoho. It astounded her that the captain knew such a high speed movement – she knew he was faster than her but not fast enough to at least be suited for the second division. "I'd hoped to avoiding using moves that she had taught me."
What is he talking about? Tahani wondered silently, blinking at the exchange between fighters.
"You're the arrogant one espada," The captain continued gravely. So Tahani wasn't going crazy when she stated her opinion of the espada. "But don't fear – you will not lose because of it." He raised his zanpakuto and gave Zommari a deadly look. "You'll lose purely because of the gap between our powers."
Lame.
"Arrogant? Me?" Zommari threw the haori off his zanpakuto effortlessly to raise his arms. "What makes you say that? It appears that you and the shinigami over there have much more in common than you think." Tahani flinched at the mention of her. "You are indeed my enemy, but of captain class. I had even mentioned it the shinigami over there, I think of us being on the same level and intend to act in that manner. There is no pride or anything like it in my heart. There is no arrogance in that."
Yeah, said the banshee when Tahani was fighting him. She scowled in irritation, recalling that he did indeed state that she was a lower level than himself. But the only reason why he won was because she had let her guard down. If she had thought clearly, then his head would've been at her feet long ago.
"Arrancar." Byakuya narrowed his eyes in disagreement. "The fact that you consider yourself to be the same level as myself, is being arrogant in itself."
If Tahani could, she would smacked her own face so hard she would've knocked herself out, but since she was not only stuck under Zommari's possession and Byakuya's kido, she couldn't move a muscle. Was this a verbal fight of who is the more arrogant of the duo? Tahani was well aware that Byakuya acted too over the top, but he could back his words up while Zommari was like a little child. Hopefully the battle would be over quickly so everyone could stop talking about arrogance.
"I see." Zommari narrowed his eyes in response and stared down at the captain. "Like the shinigami you have trapped, it seems that arrogance is a part of your nature. So be it, all me to take that pride and pulverise it through the very core of your being." He got rid of his zanpakuto, letting the weapon disperse in the air and he raised his unused eye towards Byakuya.
Tahani was glad that she was out of range but her eyes widened in horror. "Watch out!" It was already too late, the power had activated just before Byakuya could use shunpo to move away from range. Damn it, he used it already! She searched silently around his arms to see if there were any familiar symbols on his torso but she lowered her gaze and noticed it.
"What's wrong?" Zommari looked back towards Byakuya as he kept his cool face intact. "You heard that shinigami's warning again and assumed that I was preparing to release my attack, yet nothing has happened. It seems that you are unable to comprehend the reason why." A gross sneer crossed over his face, "What a shame, it has already happened!"
"Damn it," Tahani growled as she kept her narrowed eyes on his left foot, "He was too late." She wasn't going to be able to release Aisutaiga and there was no way that she could stop his movements.
"Your left leg now belongs to me," Zommari explained with the sneer still intact.
"What is this?" Byakuya wondered as he glared down at his foot like it was an enemy that had to be sliced in half.
The espada simply waved to himself as if beckoning the foot to come closer. "The only way for you to comprehend on your situation is if you experience it. Now come along, left leg." As if the leg had heard his words, Byakuya's left foot slowly started to shift forward.
Damn it! Tahani narrowed her eyes and groaned at the wounds that were still remaining on her body, even though she's been able to handle herself with the injuries, the blood that she had lost was still affecting her. There's no way that he can resist it! I was lucky enough to have Aisutaiga- Her eyes widened in more shock when Byakuya grabbed his zanpakuto and wordlessly slashed through his calf muscle. Did he just slash through his leg so he couldn't walk anymore?
"So that's why you were in that position," Byakuya noted as he looked towards the fourth seat. Tahani's eyes felt dry from the lack of blinking, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. "He gained control of both of your arms, so you were unable to fight back."
"That's right." Tahani looked towards the espada with annoyance in her features. "He caught me off guard – even I think it was stupid of me to do so – so don't ya dare say anything."
"Smart thinking," Zommari admitted from his position before he gave a look towards Rukia. "But then, how will things go over here?" The raven haired woman noticed Zommari's intentions and she let out another warning yell.
"Wait!" She cried out with mild panic, "It's a trap! Rukia has already been-!" Without any words, Byakuya had immediately jumped in Rukia's direction and raised his left arm to protect his face. "Damn it," She cursed as the black sun appeared the back of his hand.
"Astounding, even on one leg you can move that well?" Zommari looked towards Byakuya with regard flashing in his golden eyes, "Just what I'd expect from a captain!"
"Ah, there he is!" An oddly familiar voice cried out, which made Tahani raise an eyebrow, "Thank goodness, I finally caught up to you. Leaving me behind like that was mean, Captain Kuchiki!" A small figure rushed into the battlefield and Tahani's eyes widened in recognition.
"Runt, what the hell are ya doing here?" Boy, it had been a while since she saw him. When was the last time she saw him? After Renji's big fight with Byakuya and she went with Rikichi to retrieve him. How absurd. Was everyone coming here? She silently betted next Ganju was going to pop out of nowhere with fireworks burning his ass. Now that she thought about it, why was Byakuya here in the first place? Surely it wasn't to rescue her and the crew right?
Hanataro Yamada appeared next to Byakuya with the obvious signs of exhaustion, "I told you that I can't use shunpo, didn't I? I can't even run that fast! It's really scary being alone in this sort of place and its freezing! I didn't know my way very well, then got lost and..."He trailed off when he finally realised that Byakuya wasn't alone. The runt let out a wail of fear, cowering behind Byakuya and noticed the injury that Byakuya gave to himself. "Your leg's been seriously wounded Captain Kuchiki!" His eyes widened when noticed Rukia's frozen figure, "And Rukia-san's completely covered in ice!"
"Don't forget about me runt!" Tahani snapped which made the kid turn towards her and let out another wail. An annoyed growl escaped her throat as she rolled her midnight eyes. Screaming about the problem wasn't going to make it any better.
"Tahani-san! What happened?! Why are you trapped in kido?"
"I see we've been joined by a lively one," Zommari gave a glance towards the runt from the fourth division.
"Hanataro Yamada," At the sound of his name, Hanataro looked towards Byakuya with confusion in his eyes. At the feeling of a heavy reiatsu, Tahani widened her eyes and watched with astonishment. She had wondered what Renji ever saw when he wanted to fight Byakuya, but now she had a feeling of Byakuya's reiatsu she had truly seen why he wanted to fight his captain. Luckily for Renji, Tahani honoured her friends' opponents by not fighting them, "Get back, right now I can't guarantee that I'll be able to fight without you being drawn in."
Hanataro's eyes widened at the sight of the sun on his hand "Wait a minute... That's a-!" Zommari calmly looked towards Byakuya and let one of his eyes glow. Byakuya's eyes narrowed in annoyance as his hand grasped his scarf and attempted to harm himself.
If the woman was to guess, Byakuya was going to cut into his own arm to stop its movements. Not even a moment of Tahani thought of it, Byakuya cut into his own forearm and allowed the blood to float into the air. He ignored the wail from the runt of the fourth division and pointed towards Rukia.
"Captain Kuchiki, what are you doing?" Hanataro wondered, looking towards the limp arm with disbelief.
"Hado one, sho."
Tahani's eyes widened at the sight of the ice shattering instantly and Rukia flying towards the ground. What the hell was he doing? Didn't he realise that Tahani froze Rukia for a reason? She snarled at the realisation and let out an angry yell, "Captain Kuchiki! What the hell are ya doing?!"
"You broke the ice," Hanataro realised as he turned to see Rukia's body fall silently towards the ground. He shook his head in dismissal and went over to check on Rukia.
"No..." Tahani whispered with wide eyes. Why didn't Byakuya think things through before doing so? Sure Rukia may be alive, but Tahani had explained to him at the beginning of the match that she had given Rukia minor injuries. Did anything she say ever go into the mind of this arrogant man – oh damn, she had been in this fight far too long. Stupid Captain Kuchiki... I hate him.
"Rukia-san, hold on," Hanataro put her arm over his shoulder and headed out of the way. "I'll heal you now. "
"Wait Hanataro!" Tahani yelled out, catching his attention instantly. "Drop her and get the hell out of here!"
"But Tahani-san!" Hanataro protested with an uncharacteristic scowl on his face. This would've naturally shocked Tahani for his stubbornness, but she could already see what was going to happen and didn't care, "I wouldn't do that to my friend."
"Just do it!" She cried out, not before hearing the final words from Zommari.
"You should listen to the shinigami in the sidelines more often captain," Zommari noted before he gave a stare towards Hanataro and Rukia, "I had already gained the sovereignty over something before you came along."
"Hanataro ya stupid brat!" Tahani snarled, but before she could even attempt to break out of the kido, Rukia had immediately taken out her zanpakuto and slashed through Hanataro's chest. Her scowl deepened as Rukia charged towards Byakuya and started to attack him. The raven haired woman was forced to watch the conflict silently, as Byakuya easily dodged the possessed Rukia's attacks. This espada could've easily used me to attack him... She looked towards the espada before her frown relaxed. Wait, he couldn't because he only got my arm whereas he got Rukia's head. Maybe that's why Zommari had paid less attention to her. He must have realised that using her as bait would be completely useless, as Byakuya hadn't shown any sign of protective attitude to her.
"Halt!"
Tahani flinched at the certain voice, turning towards the battle to see that Rukia had her blade pressed next to her neck. "Rukia!" She knew that the younger Kuchiki could not hear her words, but it felt better that she try anyways. The espada was planning to use Rukia as bait like he did last time with her, however Byakuya was no Tahani. He really did care for his younger sister, despite acting like an asshole most of the time. Even now, Byakuya showed the panic in his eyes, as he watched the blade dangerously close to her throat. "Captain Kuchiki..."
"Drop your weapon, nameless captain," Zommari ordered sternly and left Byakuya frozen in his movement. "You have lost this battle." Tahani's eyes remained completely wide, unable to believe that Byakuya may lose this fight since they were fighting a coward that was too afraid to use a sword to take them down. That had been the reason of her defeat – she was unable to fight back, either she would remain frozen or she would stab herself to death. She snarled at the thought and let the hatred for the coward flash in her midnight eyes. It was hard to ever like cowards, which was why she pushed herself beyond her own limits and wanted to go down as she was fighting.
What seemed like forever, Captain Kuchiki dropped his zanpakuto and let his blade clatter as gravity forced it down. Zommari's lips twitched to what seemed like a victory sneer, as if he was rubbing in the shinigami's faces that they were too arrogant.
"Bakudo sixty-one," Byakuya uttered softly which made Tahani inwardly gasp in shock. "Rikujokoro." As soon as the six bars planted into Rukia, Zommari's golden eyes widened with shock. Zommari probably didn't expect the captain to use kido after he dropped his zanpakuto – Tahani admitted that she was shocked at the gesture. It was the same thing that halted the fight, yet Zommari completely dismissed it.
The espada snarled viciously, trying to move Rukia out of the kido but her body only trembled as it struggled against the kido. "What is this?!" He seethed before looking towards Tahani. Her eyes narrowed in hatred as her uninjured arm was attempting to move but kept still. It was the work of the kido, when Tahani had first been trapped in Laria's kido, she had recalled struggling but she could at least feel her body fighting against the spell. Now, it was done by Byakuya, and his kido was rather impressive, "Why won't either of you move?! Just move it!" While Zommari was cursing, he was completely oblivious to Byakuya picking up his zanpakuto and appearing behind the espada.
"Sovereignty means absolutely nothing to me..." Byakuya admitted blindly, as he dropped his zanpakuto into the ground. Tahani felt astonishment crawl up her gut as the blade went into the ground. "Bankai," She noticed the fear in Zommari's eyes and chuckled darkly at the terror, "Senbonzakura Kageyoshi." The last time she had seen Byakuya's bankai, it had been from a distance and too focused on Renji's safety to care. This time she got to see the bankai up close and personal.
A golden barrier suddenly formed around Tahani, Rukia and Hanataro as the giant blades rose around Zommari. If Zommari survived this attack, then Tahani will be slightly amazed at his abilities. The blades turned pink, resembling cherry blossoms as they mindlessly trapped the espada. Tahani was confused about the petals, trying to understand what the big idea was about petals.
"You should give up," Byakuya had told the espada in a stony voice. "You have fifty eyes all together and you had mentioned that each eye can only gain control over one object." Tahani raised an eyebrow from her position, before she realised that Byakuya was still talking to the espada through his cherry blossoms. "How do you intend to control countless blades that cover the sky with a mere fifty eyes? Gokei, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi."
"Wow," Tahani whispered as the roof fell into ruins, revealing the bright sun of Las Noches and crumbling the walls around them. As soon as the pink sphere of death ceased, Tahani felt the breath that she had been holding release. Byakuya appeared into sight after the cherry blossoms weaned and touched the kido barrier he had made, making it vanish instantly. "Captain Kuchiki," She began but sensing the espada's reiatsu made her looked towards the figure, "No way..."
"You're tough," Byakuya notified with grave eyes.
Now covered in bloodied wounds, Zommari panted in exhaustion as he escaped his protective pumpkin like body, "Damn you..."He rasped, trying to recover from Byakuya's recent attack, who returned his cherry blossoms into his zanpakuto. His forehead opened his hidden eyes and all of them glared with fury, "Damn you all, cursed shinigami!"
Tahani's eyes widened with surprise, "Damn it, he just doesn't get over that trick!" She snarled, but her expression calmed slightly when she heard the captain utter another kido.
"Bakudo eighty-one," He chanted as Tahani's eyes slightly widened with astonishment, "Danku!" A large wall blocked Byakuya and the following events made Tahani instantly realise that he had noticed a weakness. The wall was implanted with a familiar sun like picture.
"What the-?" Tahani's eyes were stuck on the wall as Zommari growled in fury and tried to possess him. It was as if his ability is familiar with kido. At the realisation, Tahani's eyes widened and she was tempted to yell out to the world in frustration. Out of all opponents I could've faced, it was someone who works with freakin' kido?! It certainly wasn't her lucky day.
Without any more words, Byakuya had appeared behind Zommari with his blade next to the espada's face. "It was the impatience that had been the thing that blinded Tahani Rosa and yourself, you even make the title of 'Fastest Espada' weep," Tahani scowled when Byakuya once again, started to insult her. Sure she was impatient, but she wasn't that bad! She knew subordinates that were worse than her.
"Mercy," The espada begged as he eyed the blade. Tahani almost wanted to get out of the kido and stab the espada with her foot. After all he had done, how dare he ask to live? What a disgrace, "What do those eyes mean? Are they saying that you won't forgive me? That you will cut me down? That you are going to judge me? Don't you understand that it's all empty pride?!"
She was almost tempted to tell the espada to shut up – empty pride or not, Tahani hated the fact that the espada had referred to it. Tahani's pride was her victories, her friends and her will to survive even to the most painful of injuries. This espada acted as if he did not humiliate her by attempting to make her stab herself with her own weapon – another thing that was considered her pride. He pushed back Byakuya's blade and used sonido to get away from them.
And Zommari continued with his protest, "Did you shinigami ever think about the emptiness of killing others?! What about when you kill us hollows like we're nothing? Shinigami slay us as if it was their birthright, passing judgment as if led by fate." He let out a chuckle, and Tahani felt her nerves tingled when the eyes finally blinked to glare at Byakuya, "You shinigami act like you're Kami, so tell me. When were you ever permitted to exterminate us hollows? Because we eat humans? Yes, eat humans but when you shinigami allowed to protect them? According to you, we're evil and kill us." It was like this guy was talking to someone who actually cared, Tahani liked hunting hollows because of the thrill and excitement of her life, "You believe that you offer justice but this is nothing more than hubris! Your conceit and that proud face! The lot of you-!"
Tahani sighed gratefully when Byakuya wordlessly slashed him and appeared behind the espada. About time.
"At what point did I ever claim that cutting you down in my capacity as a shinigami?" Byakuya questioned gravely as the espada widened his eyes in horror, "To justify my actions I have taken I need but one reason. You raised your blade in contempt of my pride."
Immediately Tahani looked towards Rukia with wide eyes. Back at Soul Society, when Rukia was sentence to death – he had been willing to cut through her and Renji just because they had tried to save Rukia. Now, when she heard the words, she couldn't help but almost feel that Byakuya wasn't an emotionless prick. Don't get her wrong, he was still a prick... he just wasn't emotionless.
Zommari began to cheer, which only made Tahani raise an eyebrow in confusion. Wasn't he just scared a second ago? "Hurray for Aizen-sama!" He chanted, which only made Tahani glare with hatred once again. What was with people and supporting that manipulative bastard? He appeared like ash and vanished into thin air, declaring that he was finally defeated which had also meant that the ability had worn off.
Even though she wasn't happy that she was rescued, thank Spirit King... or Byakuya... Tahani didn't care. The battle with the arrogant bastard was over.
