Lucy POV
The weekend was remarkable! It was just what I needed.
For some reason Natsu wouldn't leave my side. Not even for a second. I of course didn't mind, I even like him finally there with me 24/7. I enjoyed the weekend, but for the rest of the break something bothered me. It was on Friday when we all decided to hold a weekend long party. That was the day when everything would change…
/Flashback/
"Draco, hiding under the board walk from Natsu won't stop me from going back to him…" I whispered as I eyed the celestial spirit in the dark.
"I don't even know why you like a dragon slayer like him…"Draco whispered with crossed arms. I narrow and roll my eyes, "You like Wendy who is a dragon slayer."
She frowned and puffed her cheeks out, "She's different…" I chuckle and reply, "I know you just don't want me with anyone!" I could clearly see her blush, even if it was a bit dark from the shadow of the dock.
"Lucy…"
My heart stopped as I jumped at the sudden voice. I quickly turn around to only see Jellal and Meredy. I held my hand to my heart as I huffed, "You two almost gave me a heart attack…"Meredy smiled apologetically as she whispered, "Sorry Lucy. We didn't mean to scare you."
I smiled as I said, "I'm okay…" I raised an eye brow, wondering why they were here. "Lucy we need to talk with you…" Jellal said a hint of worry in his voice. My eyes widened as I blink in surprise, "What's the matter?" He swallowed as he took a deep breathe, "Lately we have felt a presence in the Training Games…"
"What presence?" I asked slowly. Jellal bit his lip and crossed his arms. He eyed Draco, wondering if she should stay or leave. "Jellal, this is Draco one of my celestial spirits. Whatever you're going to tell me, she can keep a secret." I said as I patted the dragons shoulder.
"Well we have felt a strong power coming from someone lately. It's almost as strong as Zeref's power…" Meredy said as she sucked in air. My eyes widened in tremor, "Zeref is here?" I asked a bit frightened. "What is Zeref doing here?" Draco demanded.
"Draco, Lucy, it's not Zeref…" Jellal said as he eyed me. My eyes narrowed in confusion, "If it's not Zeref, then who is it?" Meredy shrugged her shoulders and whispered, "We don't know who…" I swallowed the lump in my throat as I asked, "Why are you two telling me this? I haven't officially joined your group…"
"We need you to tell us if you see anything suspicious. If something happens to you or someone else, please tell us. We need to find this person at once. Whoever this person is, it isn't here for the games…" Jellal said, clearly stressed out. I smiled and nod, "I'll promise to tell you right away if something's happens." I swore as I smiled, "I always keep my promises."
Jellal and Meredy smiled, a bit of relief flooding there features. "Thank you Lucy." Meredy whispered.
"But…" Jellal whispered, his face contorting into a serious expression. "We need you to tell us if you've seen anything strange…" I blinked, trying to remember anything out of the ordinary. I was about to reply 'That I couldn't remember anything' totally forgetting about the secret shadow. But Natsu suddenly stepped in front of me and Draco.
/End of Flashback/
Though I tried to forget about Friday, it still bugged me. It didn't help that on Monday morning I woke up from a dream equaling those words Jellal told me. "It's not Zeref…"
"What's wrong Lucy?" Natsu asked as he stared at me with questioning eyes. I sat in my bed, staring at the wall with a blank expression. I blinked a few times before I rubbed my eyes, "I'm fine…" I whispered as my hands fell to the bed, pulling my body to the side of the comforter.
"You miss the weekend?" Natsu asked with a smirk. I yawned and nodded, "I wish we didn't wake up so early in the morning…" I heard him chuckle as he replied, "I hate it too."
I eyed the room, seeing everyone was changing into… costumes? "Why are you guys changing into costumes?" I asked slowly. "Because…" Gray said as he put on his blue high heels. I puffed out my cheeks as I covered my mouth to stop myself from laughing. "We are going to train in these costumes!" Erza said dramatically.
I couldn't hold back my laughter as Natsu put on his dragon hat, his head sticking out of the mouth. "It isn't funny Lucy…" Natsu whined. "Ya, you got to wear a costume as well." Gajeel said as he tried to walk in his robot outfit. I instantly stopped my giggling, letting my eyes widen.
"What?" I asked as I stumbled to get to my feet. Laxus smirked in his yellow mouse attire as he said, "Yep, you get to play dress up with us!" In the blink of an eye Erza forced me in the bathroom and dressed me into some angel costume. I wore a strapless white dress with wings attached to my back, a golden hallow hovered above my head.
"What are you doing, Erza?" I asked as the redhead tried to push me out of the door. "Training with costumes on, do you have a problem with that?" She asked threatening. I gulped, letting her push me out of the bathroom. Natsu turned to me; his eyes grew bigger as he saw what I was wearing.
"Lucy, you look cute in that…" He whispered with a small smile. I blush and frown, "Shut up…" I whispered with a pout. "Come, come. Let's go outside everyone." Erza said as she dragged me out the door.
She made me stand straight out on the green lawn. It didn't help that I had no shoes on and that I was standing on a pointed rock. "Why are we in costumes?" I asked a bit irritated as Natsu and Gray walked beside me. They both shrugged their shoulders, "You never know with Erza." Gray said with crossed arms. I look down at his attire and softly giggle, "You look good in a dress." His eyes widened as Natsu burst out in laughter, "See Gray? I told you, you looked good in a dress!"
"Shut up you fiery mouth breather. At least I'm not wearing a dump dragon costume." Gray said as he glared at the laughing boy. Natsu stopped his snickers and glared back, "What's wrong with dragon costumes?" Natsu asked as the two butted heads.
"It means my costume is awesomer then yours." Gray said in annoyance. "Awesomer isn't a word Gray…" I whispered with a sigh. "Are you guys fighting again?" Erza asked, coming out of nowhere. The two backed away from each other and shook their heads 'no'. Erza smiled and crossed her arms, "Very good…"
Whatever Erza planned on saying next was cut off when a huge 'thug' came from behind us. We all turned around to see Gajeel lying on his stomach. The costume he was wearing forced him to stay on the ground. Gray and Natsu exploded in laughter as Gajeel struggled to get back up.
"Titania, I swear if I get out of this thing I will force you to wear a robot outfit." Gajeel yelled in frustration, only making the two boys to fall to the floor and laugh their heads off. I tried to hold my giggles back, but when Laxus walked out of the cabin and tripped over Gajeel, it caused me to join the two boys on the ground.
"What the hell Gajeel. Watch where you're laying next time." Laxus proclaimed, also unable to get back up. "Silence." Erza yelled in annoyance. Everyone stopped what they were doing and got back up on their feet. Well, Gray, Natsu, and I got back up on our feet, Laxus and Gajeel kept falling back to the ground.
Erza scolded us, disappointment written on her face, "This is the first time I get to dress Lucy up and you all go and ruin it." I frowned as Erza's eye started to form tears. I opened my mouth to say something but a light beside me stopped me. I turned to look to my side to see Grus standing there.
My eyes widen in surprise, wondering why she was here. "Hello Grus, what's up?" She stared at me in shock and blinked a few times, "Where's your mask and cloak?" I grinned proudly as I said, "I took them off!"
Her mouth dropped in astonishment, "Wait, does that mean you mastered the Kings Book?" I raised an eye brow in confusions and ask, "Ya, didn't you know?" She shook her head 'no' as she said, "You never wrote to the king so no one knows…"
My heart skipped a beat. I stood there with wide eyes as I processed Grus's words, "You never wrote to the king…" repeated over and over again in my head.
"NO" I screamed as I ran around the lawn. "Hello Erza, it's nice to see you again!" Grus said sweetly, not concerned about me. "Hello?" Erza said softly as her confused eyes followed me, including everyone else's.
"You two know each other?" Laxus asked as he finally got back up on his feet. Grus nodded with a smile, "We met when you guys went to the beach." She said with a calm smile. I grabbed her shoulder with both of my hands, "Grus, what do I do?" I asked desperately. She laughed softly and glance at me, "Then you write to him!" She said simply. I blinked a few times, trying to think when the last time I wrote to him was. If I'm correct then it was… last Wednesday.
My face paled as I stood there in silence. "I have no idea what's going on right now…" Natsu whispered in confusion. "Grus, I can't just write to him. I haven't written a letter to him since last week." I whined, frantic for an answer. "Well I can't help you. I'm not the one who forgot about telling the king I finished the Kings Book. If I were you, then I would have told the king right after I finished the book…" The crane said with a glint of disapproval in her eyes.
My lip began to tremble as I fell to my knees, "I don't know what I can do…" I pouted as I glared at the ground. "Oh and nice wings Spirit." I heard Grus say sarcastically. I grumble as I look up at a smirking Grus.
"I guess I'll make a short visit to the celestial world…" I whispered with a small sigh. "What?" Everyone but Grus asked. "It's just going to be a short visit, so don't freak out about it." I whispered as I got up off the ground with a frown. Natsu pouted as he grabbed my wrist, "You just got here Lucy and you're leaving already…" He said painfully.
I frown and stare at him, "It's only going to take a few minutes Natsu. I'll be back before you know it." I said with a smile. He hesitated for a while before he let go of me. "You better come back." He said sternly. I roll my eyes as I took out the diamond key, "Who ever said I was going to leave you guys again?" I asked as I raised the key in front of me.
They all smiled, knowing I would come back. "Open gate to the celestial world." I said as I watched a bright glow form in front of me. I looked back at the group as a two door appeared. They all gave me cautious looks but grinned sadly. I look back at the door while I whispered, "I'll be back." I then push open the two doors; beyond it was covered in a bright white light. Grus followed me inside as we walked in through the doors. The gate closed and disappeared behind us.
Last time when I walked through those doors, this whole world was in rebel. Though it was nice to see my regular celestial home back to normal, I still wanted to go back to Fairy Tail. But if I didn't do this, then when the games ended I would have the spirit king clawing at my back.
"Spirit…" A deep voice boomed through the air. Grus flinched from beside me as I stood there calmly. "Care to explain why I haven't gotten any letters from you?" His voiced echoed as a small light, similar to a star, formed in the air in front of me.
"I'm sorry I haven't written to you. I've just been… busy." I said as I gulped. The Celestial Spirit King suddenly appeared as he said, "You should have still written to m…" He stopped midway as he eyed my attire.
"Spirit… what are you wearing?" He asked with a raised eye brow. My face turned as red as a tomato. I blinked a few times before I looked down at what I was wearing. I kept forgetting I have this on.
"An angel costume…?" I said softly as I looked up. The king puffed his cheeks out to try and hold his laughter back, "It isn't funny!" I yelled, I looked beside me to see Grus red. She held her breathe, trying her hardest to stop her giggling. My eyes widened to see their reactions.
"Stop it you two!" I demanded with shock and hints of irritation. The king gasped as he let his chuckles fly through the air, "I'm sorry Spirit but… who made you wear that?" He said between laughs. "Erza did…" I whispered as I crossed my arms in frustration.
"Why would she do that to you?" He asked as he started to wipe the tears from his eyes. "I don't know…" I said dumbly. "Hey, don't give me an attitude." He said, the laughter instantly stopping. "I'm not giving you an attitude." I said with a scrunched up nose. "It sure does soun…"
"Let's not start this again." Grus interrupted the king before anything happened. She turned to me and raised an eye brow, "You were going to tell the Spirit King something?" I frowned and nodded, "I just wanted to come here and tell you that I finished the book and that I'm sorry I never told you."
"You know, you never had to come here and tell me personally. I already knew you finished and that you were busy." The king said with crossed arms. My eyes widened in surprise, even Grus seemed a bit taken aback. "You mean to tell me, I didn't have to come here in the first place?" I asked, not concerned how he knew I finished the Kings Book.
"Grus, why did you take me here?" I asked as I turned to the crane spirit. Her eyes widened as she faced me, "Why are you blaming me? You were the one who said writing a letter wouldn't be good enough for the king." I blinked in surprise, now remembering how I started to freak out about how I forgot to write to the king.
"Oh ya, I remember now…" I whispered with a guilty smirk. Grus rolled her eyes and turned back to the king, "So does that mean Spirit can go back?" She asked. The Spirit King nodded with a smile. I jumped up and down as a bright glow appeared behind me. I turned around to face the two doors and grinned, "Good bye king!" I said as I grabbed the handles of the gate.
"Lucy…" My eyes widened, the king never called me by my first name… I gradually turned my head to look over my shoulder.
"Be safe." He said softly. I blinked in surprise, trying to figure out the meaning behind his words. "Of course…" I said carefully as I eyed him. He smiled once again as I turned back around to face the doors. I furrowed my brows as I opened the entrances.
Still concerned about his words.
{Ohhh… I wonder what happens next. Sorry for not updating so soon, I was busy this weekend with my family and all. I know I said I was going to tell you why I forced Lucy in Sabertooth, but I promise next chapter I will. I PROMISE. Hoped you liked it and please review!}
